Some people must have made mad-ass money from that Akwa Ibom stadium that can't even stand toe to toe with the Moroccan stadium. Naija matter na like trying to use hand to stop a basket from leaking. He won't have been more than 38 years old then and he wasn't fantastic. At that age you should be hanging with street level footballers even if you were a decent amateur, but he wasn't a top player in those matches I watched. timbros: You got me wrong.
What I meant is that Lawal is so versatile that you can slot him into RB for your all time just to make sure he is in the team. That's how important he is to the team. You can’t slot someone into a role he never played even once in his life ahead of people who played it at a high level. If we were looking for a CM, CDM, or LB it is a different matter. Lawal had work rate and tactical discipline. Those were his strengths, not speed or technique needed to play as an inverted full back. |

Ibime: The only reason I'm sceptical about the level of football in the 1970s and early 80s when Odegbami held sway was how poor Zaire were in the World Cup and they were dominant in Africa.
Adokiye Amiesimaka who was the 3rd star of the team behind Odegbami and Muda Lawal (and very close to their level) was a law student in Unilag and barely had any club career yet was running things in National Team. Imagine going from Law Class to National team and still running things, then back to school same evening
Muda Lawal was a mechanic who offed his mechanic overall and within the same year was already playing for Super Eagles
Level was low in Odegbamis time, can't really compare him to players in 1990s Stop that breakdance. The Algerian team that Odegbami, Muda, Adokiye, and Owo Blow slaughtered 3-0 in Lagos in 1980 went to 82 World Cup and won 2 games including defeating tournament favourites West Germany. |

I was the one you accused of using it for an Amorim agenda. The others who responded only did so briefly and dropped only a few words. engrelvis supported you. Leyqute encouraged you that Kone was looking sharp and would get a chance that preseason. The point i was trying to make is that we all have favourites amongst academy players that we want to see during preseason but we all can't be satisfied in that regards because a manager uses preseason for more than just allowing every fan to see his or her own personal favourite. I wanted to see more of Ethan Williams and was disappointed that Lacey got injured before the preseason. You somehow turned it into an Amorim agenda issue. It is tiring to discuss on this forum if every statement is viewed in terms of Pro or Anti. |

TrebleChamp: Shebi i was hoping to see Kone play pre season (pre season ooh) and some people turned it to an agenda against Amorim, but if Kone is sold and he becomes a beast midfielder now, we go dey the Manager did not have good players to work with... When you said this same thing that day i corrected you immediately that i meant a selfish agenda for your favourite player, yet you are here repeating the same accusation months later. What do you gain from this? This was the first post that you twisted. afrodoc: Lol. We are getting the truth small small. Another fan who likes Reece Munro will be lamenting and criticising Amorim for not giving him minutes. Another fan who likes Dermot Mee would say the same. Even me that likes Ethan Williams can criticize Amorim for not giving him more minutes instead of 50m patient Mason Mount.
Meanwhile the manager wants to prepare the team for the start of the season but each fan with his own selfish agenda wants to feed his eyes on his own personal academy favourite.
Which one do you think is more relevant? LMAO And this was second post where i explained further to you. afrodoc2: 1) I agree that Kone is more talented than Collyer. Might be way more talented sef. I also think one has to consider his physical development.
2) I didn't say or mean agenda against Amorim. Unless guilty conscience is catching you.
I meant an agenda to watch your favourite academy player. Someone like me my agenda this preseason is for Mount to be benched completely, and all his minutes should be given to Ethan Williams but i know a manager who is 2-3 months away from potential sack won't go to that extreme. He will balance minutes for those who can help him right now and those who might be more helpful in 6-12 months or even 2-3 years' time.
I have to believe he is making his decisions based on what he and his staff are seeing in training and in the gym. If things continue this way for months on end and the preferred players are playing rubbish, then i will join you to petition the club. |

Obiku like Richard Owubokiri suffered the fate of those Westerhof believed could not play with Yekini. Every other regular attacking player was versatile. The team was settled and Westerhof would have allowed only people who knew their place or who were exceptional beyond what he had into that group. |

Unlimited22: I am actually surprised nobody attempted to argue Enyeama and Rufai
At least just for argument sake 😂😂😂 Enyeama is clear. Out of the oldies. Odegbami, Muda Lawal, and Christian Chukwu in that order have the best claims. Odegbami is battling Finidi. That’s tough. He was the greatest Nigerian player pre that 1994 squad sha. Muda Lawal is now forgotten because he died young but he was probably next to Odegbami in terms of ability and prestige. Christian Chukwu’s coaching misdemeanours make people view him a certain way. |

Roland17: Still not enough.
Eguavoen has the appearances including qualifiers, an AFCON winner and WC participant.
That is more body work than Aina has. If Aina was on this roster and go all the way, then I can concede. I will still pick Yobo ahead of him. We can’t just put all the AFCON winners and WC participants straight into the list. We have to consider what you individually did or did not do in those appearances. You would place Yobo ahead of him at RB based off 10 caps? |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by afrodoc2: 10:15pm On Jan 12 |

Roland17: I'd rather Eguavoen or Yobo at RB than this Aina I am seeing everywhere.
Nothing against Aina but he doesn't have the body of work in the SE to get into the ALL TIME list.
We are talking ALL TIME here... Eguavoen played 49 times and Aina already has 48 caps. Eguavoen was also consistently a weak link in the team. Yobo played primarily as a CB and maybe 10-15 caps early on as RB. We have not produced many good RBs so it is slim pickings. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by afrodoc2: 9:28pm On Jan 12 |
Kanu has no business in that lineup.
4-4-2.
Yekini, Osimhen, Keshi, Finidi, Uche Okechukwu must enter.
---------------------------------Enyeama---------------------------------------
-----Aina---------Keshi......................Okechukwu.........Iroha-------
------Finidi-------Oliseh--------Muda Lawal---------Lookman----------
----------------Yekini----------------Osimhen------------------------------
Muda Lawal retired as the most capped player in our history, winning our 1st AFCON and was a dominant box to box midfielder who would slot in better than the other options with Oliseh in a 2-man midfield.
Odegbami barely loses out to Finidi. Odegbami even though primarily a winger retired as our top scorer winning AFCON as top scorer and being the best player in our 1st golden era.
Amuneke just loses out to Lookman because his peak was too short.
Kanu can't get in ahead of Yekini or Osimhen. Atlanta 96 was an age-grade competition with a sprinkling of senior players. Also, one swallow does not make a summer. His subsequent AFCON performances were not good enough to oust those 2 players.
Aina gets in by default. There is no one else. |

Unless it is an extremely flagrant case of negligence, doctors will simply quietly cover up for each other.
What you will see in teaching hospitals in particular is if you are an insider, your family will be steered away from some doctors if there is need for an operation. If you don't have that insider track oyo. Yeah, that is an issue. Unless it is an egregious case people tend to avoid snitching. |

patrickmuf: For me, I think we need to first decide if we want to sign players to fit into what a coach wants or the designated system the club intends to adopt in the long run. Looking at Cunha and Mbeumo, they do not look like out and out wingers rather inverted forwards, their signings favors the systems Amorim plays but in a 4-3-3, I don't think they'll be that effective (Mbeumo can still do a job though)... We need to identify good players. That is the first thing. The club has already decided on buying for the club rather buying coach-specific players. I read that this was the reason for the fallout between Wilcox and Amorim this January. It was after Wilcox informed him about this that he had his meltdown. So that side is sorted. We now need to identify good players. |

GloriousGbola: Has any doctor in Nigeria faced disciplinary action for negligence? Or any hospital?
All that happens is what chimamanda is doing right now. It remains to be seen if she will follow through with a hard lawsuit or stop at calling out the hospital.
Especially when you consider how slow courts are in Nigeria. It will likely drag for years. Especially as lagos state does not have active malpractice laws as far as I can tell.
And the hospital is probably quickly forging different documents and reports as most hospitals in Nigeria
You may also find they do not even have proper patient records. No HIPAA or it's equivalent here. They do face sanctions although I agree that it is probably less than it should be. I just did some digging. In 2021 3 doctors had their registration permanently erased and 12 others were suspended for about 6 months each. These are all MDCN cases. That is the body that can sanction a doctor professionally. This is different from the law courts who deal with civil or criminal punishment of the doctor. |
