Doc, we have the same chances of signing a top quality 9 in the winter window as a hen has of growing teeth and then evolving into Caraxxes. I think we'll get a journeyman in the mold of Ighalo and Arnautovic.

The Glazers are virgins (a bunch of tight cünts) and won't release 200M every window but we should be able to raise 30M by creatively offloading deadweight.

And I think Gakpo strikes the ball very well even though Greenwood was clearly elite with his technique.

We need as much quality as possible. If we don't get Gakpo, Arsenal or Pool will bite the bait and we inadvertently strengthen rivals.

This is not important. We can't buy all the good players in the world just so our rivals don't get them. We have to work on ourselves and improve our squad with players that the manager feels will thrive in his system. That is what matters.

If ETH thinks he is good enough and fits his system he will go for him. Personally, i would prefer a proper No 9, but maybe ETH wants to retrain Rashy as a No 9 and get another LWF? We will see.

His close control is adequate if not fantastic. He also has a world-class cross on him.

He tends to disappear when the opponents cut the supply. He has enough strength to make it in the Premier League and he strikes the ball almost as cleanly as Greenwood.

It's rumored that he's available for 30M in January. For that price, even if we have 50 LWFs, we need to get him. I don't think Elanga is a Premier League footballer so that cuts our LWFs to Rashford and a Sancho with more question marks than 50 Cent's "21 Questions" lyrics page.

That's my 2 cents. He's not world class but can do a job and won't put a huge dent in the budget

The Glazers won’t spend 200m every window. We need a no 9 desperately. Martial is a doctor and Ronaldo is on his last legs or off form.

We have more questions at No 9. That is where we need to improve in January.

Since you havent watch him, you should either wait for him to join another club (like Haaland) OR you dedicate more time to watch and analyse him yourself.

Then you that watch him regularly tell us what his strong points are. You realise you have not once described what he is good at and what he needs to improve on. You just come here and post ere division stats and want us to swallow it like nkwobi.

I don’t watch him regularly so I can’t say much about him in terms of his quality. From highlights it looks like he has a loose touch and I am not sure about his body balance/strength against EPL defences.
He looks like he thrives in open spaces that might not be available in the EPL. I might be wrong, which is where you come in and tell us more.

If he is not going to definitely bench a rejuvenated Rashford at LWF then we should go for a proper No 9 not a jack of all trades. I have nothing against Gakpo.

We didn't sign them due to ere division stats. We signed them because they passed the eye test and filled a need. We have multiple LWFs in the team. We need a No 9. If as RVP said, he is not a no 9 then we don't need him.

I am not saying you shouldn't evangelize for him, but using ere division stats is not the way. You that have watched him tell us what the eye test tells you. Mateja Kezman went from > 30 goals per season in ere division to scoring 4 goals for Chelsea.

Don't bobo us with ere division stats. Give us analysis.

Dusan Tadic is averaging over 1 goal contribution per game in 4 seasons in that league.

I (used to) rate Potter but he has made a few funny moves and ridiculous mistakes that i am starting to doubt him. That Brighton match could have been different even with his mad Pulisic and Sterling as wingbacks, if he had added an extra midfielder and gone with a 3-5-2.

What he did was tactical suicide. You can't cede midfield control and then compound it by using wingbacks that won't track back. Making such a rudimentary error is a red flag but i guess until he has had a pre-season it would be difficult to judge him.
