https://www.nairaland.com/7428974/nigerian-u-k-very-greedy#118320903 Nigerians always feel entitled. I once sent money to a guy on this forum who was desperate for school fees for uni (or so he claimed). Next thing the guy sent me a message in December asking me for money for him to do Christmas. If you give your neighbour lift to work in Nigeria for a few days, the day you don't give lift is the day he/she becomes your enemy. |

GloriousGbola: oh yes it will and can
i have some neighbours who do not pick their children from school. they literally expect them to walk home from school they have no plan in place for when it rains. they have six children, all of whom are fat the eldest are 15 plus.
their kids used to go to the same school as my kids. i work from home mostly. one day it was raining very very heavily and i went to pick my kids from school. they were there and they asked me to pick them. from there it was please our brother is in school b, our sister is in school e. so a 15 minute journey turned into a 45 minute journey - through knee high pools of water. something in the car got damaged that day - because i was giving a lift to my neighbours kids whose parents [much much wealthier than me] could not be bothered to arrange or plan for their trip home.
if your car breaks down will the neighbour who has been enjoying free ride chip in to repair it? if there is fuel scarcity, will he go and line up for you in the queue? no one owes you anything because they are 'wealthier' than you. especially when you are not there when they are doing whatever it is that got them the money Everybody has a different viewpoint on how to live this life. We had a neighbour who was a top engineer in NNPC. The guy bought a house for hundreds of millions of naira while sending his kids to one of those dilapidated public schools in Lagos. |

DeadPresidents: I'm all for selling a bushmeat hunter like Fred. However, is Mejbri ready for the Premier League? Technique-wise, he's already miles above McFred but how about his temperament?
I'm all for selling Fred once Mejbri has been blooded in and has become a squad regular. If we are waiting for Mejbri's temperament to turn to SU or Deeper Life, we will be waiting for 50yrs. He has withstood the physical challenges of the Championship fairly well in terms of being physically up to the task and also not retaliating. He will always be a bit of a hothead but i think he should be recalled next season. Another plan could be to extend his contract and then loan him to a premier league side. The problem is that if McFred remain our options on the bench whenever Casemiro/Eriksen get injured or go through poor form we will continue struggling in the league. |

teeshet: what happened to wanbisaka This was me in June. I told guys that ETH had already informed the club that he wanted no part of AWB. afrodoc2: According to the reliable outlets Ten Hag already informed the club weeks back that he wants no part of AWB. The club has been shopping AWB around for at least a month now but no buyers at reasonable fee so far.
The plan is for Dalot to stay. AWB leaves. If Laird does not impress during training they might activate the Dumfries move. Very unlikely that they would give Williams a chance at RB. |

Ellexy: Doc I doubt Hannibal is in anyway ready for the first team from what I've seen. He still needs a lot of improvement from tactical discipline to mental discipline. Have you been watching his games in the Championship? In terms of technical and physical attributes he is a better option to have on the bench. With Mejbri on the bench we can take Eriksen off in the 60th minute without radically changing our style of play the way we have to if it was Fred coming on. There is no way you will know whether or not he is ready without giving him minutes. He will always be a bit of a hothead, but he has been fairly disciplined so far and keeps getting better with each game. There is no logical reason why Fred should be ahead of him by next season. |

I'm all for selling Fred once Mejbri has been blooded in and has become a squad regular. Mejbri’s temperament has improved slightly recently but I suspect it won’t get much better. He doesn’t need to be a saint to succeed and there have been a good number of hot headed stars who made it in football. Temperament aside he is taller, stronger, faster, and more skilful than Fred. If he gets minutes his decision making will also improve. It would be a travesty if players like McFred are the ones blocking Hannibal’s path to the 1st team. |

MRTA7: There are not many players I've wanted to succeed as much as I wanted Donny to. I've just had to accept that its not happening. We need to get rid asap because he's probably due a contract renewal soon. We better not try it. Before we bought him I already noticed his limitations. While debating with Kagawa I made mention of his low passing stats in a possession based team like Ajax. I however didn’t expect him to be such a ghost. |

I think 120k is too much for a midfielder with such an atrocious touch. I’m ok with him staying if we can get him on a short contract with reduced wages Right now Mejbri is better than Fred. If we stockpile all these mediocre senior players how will we be able to give the youngsters minutes? |

So you're telling me an accountant had an insane amount of illegal drug money stashed away in personal accounts and he wasn't aware where they came from? See if we want to cruise let's cruise but don't insult someone's sensibilities please. I mean everything that happened was just coincidence right?
You just said the payments into his accounts was questionable yet there's no proof he was involved in money laundering or drug trafficking Let’s not whine ourselves. Tinubu was the money man for a syndicate, and his adoptive mum Abibatu Mogaji was probably the Lagos connect. |

It is more about trying to give an old friend all the opportunity to succeed rather than stubbornness. It is 3 starts with no impact now from VDB. Shybeauty: Hmmm! I feel like ranting. So, there is this guy who has been giving me attention since the beginning of this year. This attention is so glaring to everyone in my department that most of the girls are beefing me. Whenever he sees me in the department, he moves into close proximity to me without talking to me. He stares at me when I'm standing afar. He makes me feel special in the department.
Sometimes, when i catch his eyes, he smiles discretely at me. Now, it's november and he's still not saying anything. I don't know what to do because earlier in the year, I didn't have much feeling for him. But now, I feel I have something for him. There is another girl in the department that is obviously trying to get him, but he doesn't give her attention but gives me attention. I am tired. I don't know what to do? I can't ask him out, that's out of it. I wouldn't.
If you've been in this situation before, how did you handle it? Please help me as I'm on the brink of asking him so i don't continue wasting my time? He might be a pickpocket. Coming so close to you every time is a red flag. Check your wallet next time? |
