KingAlabi: I feel that malacia might even be a backup to shaw.
Shawberto Carlos might come this season but his seasonal injuries will push malacia to the light.
My thoughts though. i am not sure of Malacia defensively but because of his aggression and work rate i think at the least he will put some pressure on Shaw. But for this season i think you are right and he will start on the bench and be slowly integrated. |

I have not said Tinubu wont win.[/color] How does this relate? It would be significant if he defeated a Yoruba from a major party in Ondo Sate. That was 2 Hausa/Fulani competing against each other so of course one will win and the other will lose. Anyway as things stand next year's election is between Tinubu and Atiku. Both Obidients and Obidi.ots are sitting on a long thing. |

It is because you were already assuming that the contract extension was going to be on improved wages while it was clear to both Tesla and i that there was no need for improved wages at all. ChristineC: you should also consider that Shaw may decide not to sign an extension if terms are not to his liking. moving as a free man a year later will likely put more money directly in his and his agent's pocket even if he's stepping down in terms of club stature. it's also not unusual of him to have a Shawberto Carlos display in patches this season to lure a potential improved contract or deceive a new bride though If they give him improved wages that is on the mumu board not Shaw. If they have not learnt from the wages they gave Shaw, Martial, Rashford, DDG e.t.c then nobody can help them. For this first season it is important that we keep Shaw as cover in case Malacia struggles to settle in at the start. If Shaw goes and you leave Malacia and that backpacker Telles it might end in salty tears. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc2: 8:42am On Jul 17, 2022 |
TeslaFC: Any move he makes now would very likely not be to a big club, so chances of receiving an offer similar to United’s is substantially reduced.
In this case, United holds the bargaining power, which means there’s no pressure to offer any improved wages. Also consider he’s English. I didn't even see this. You hit the nail on the head. ChristineC has a history of co-signing huge wage increases for players like the notorious Udoji Awards. We can offer him same wage contract extension and keep the competition going between him and Malacia. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc2: 8:39am On Jul 17, 2022 |
ChristineC: that will mean United offers him a contract extension on improved wages or lose him for free next summer. while I hope he's worth it, I still think both options are not good for business. I'd rather recoup some decent fee from his sale because he's been a disappointment. I think there are players already in the squad that can play makeshift at left back if Malacia proves to need some settle in period. talent has proven not to be everything in Luke Shaw's case. They do not have to improve his wages. You can extend his contract cos he is not getting a better salary anywhere else. Recouping money on transfer should be secondary to keeping our better players and offloading the worse ones. Shaw is technically good enough for me to see how he will perform under ETH. There is no point recouping 20m on Shaw in order to keep a waste man like Telles in the squad. That Telles that runs like he is carrying a backpack has no use in our current system. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc2: 7:52am On Jul 17, 2022 |
ChristineC: it's not a question of twice as good or half as good. Shaw was signed in 2014 for £30m, a transfer record for a teen. this is 2022, how many outstanding seasons can you point out for this lad in the red shirt? At this point the fee does not matter anymore. We keep the better player and sell the worse player. Shaw is better than Telles. And its not close. Malacia is not certain to be a hit so i would feel more confident having Malacia and Shaw than having Malacia and Telles. Telles is too slow and weak to cope with the EPL. He has shown it countless time. And this Malacia guy does not look as fast as his Youtube videos suggested. Jury is still out on him. |

Leyqute: You misunderstood me.
Ronaldo has a big ego.
We all know he can’t perform at an high level week in week out because of his body and age.
Yet he won’t agree to be rested or benched for his own benefit. He threw a tantrum the other day because he was subbed off.
This wouldn’t be a problem if his body could take the toil. But then he can’t and he won’t listen to anyone who says he can’t. It’s pure stubbornness and selfishness. This is the point where a positive becomes a negative. Without Ronaldo's almost pathological ego and ambition he would not have attained the GOAT contender status that he has now. But because of that same ego and ambition he has not accepted that he has to recalibrate his own expectations of his performance levels. |

Club backed manager over recruitment department's recommendation (Pau Torres). This is not news na. Nkunku and Torres were top of the list submitted by the scouting department who worked with Rangnick. Other possible names were Laimer, Gvardiol. However every name was rejected by ETH who came with his own list of FDJ, Timber, Antony, Malacia, Dumfries. When LVG wrecked the Timber deal he switched to Lisandro Martinez. |

BlueRayDick: Wow ! Didn’t know Italy political scene was that unstable o. But does the frequent change of government not affect their economy ? I mean with different government coming up with its own economic policies , does it not affect them as a country ? Of course it does to an extent. You are not likely to find Italy in Top 15 in Europe in GDP per capital or Human Development Index. But apart from the government being unstable it is also corrupt, so that also contributes. |

They have had about 60 cabinets in the same time that Israel has had about 40. Google Aldo Moro, Giulio Andreotti, Romano Prodi, Silvio Berlusconi. I am sure there are more less well known ones. Anyday you wake up, they could have a new one When I was in primary school and Giulio Andreotti (Mr Italy) was prime minister (his 3rd time and 7th cabinet) there had been more than 40 different governments in the 45 years since World War 2. I think it is now 69 governments since the end of the war. An average of 1 government per year. It all stems from their chaotic proportional electoral system which they have recently started trying to eliminate. |

timay1: Mctominay is even more surprising. Cos in the Scottish national team, they don't even rate him as a midfielder, they just relegated him to defense, and only gets to play whenever they play a back 3, just to tell you how bad it is.
No wonder Ten hag is standing on their neck to get him De Jong by fire by force.
Ten Hag might be a good coach but he himself knows that he's not a magician and can't turn some players into Pirlo Both Fred and McTominay will mess up their first touch and turn their 2nd touch into a tackle. Fred's case is mainly due to poor composure and concentration while McTominay just lacks the technique. Outside height and strength there are between 4 and 6 academy players better than McTominay already and Fred's case is only marginally better. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc2: 3:26pm On Jul 15, 2022 |
It is unfortunate. Iqbal and Savage understand the role of central midfielders so much more than McFred it is unreal. Then the gulf in technical ability is shocking. McTominay is definitely using quota system cos there is no way he is a ten Hag style midfielder. I wasn't even really excited with the academy performance in the 2nd half cos that 1st half midfield performance was still hurting me in the soul.
If we start McFred we will surely lose out on top 4. Those academy boys are however not ready for EPL level challenge so we need to add 1 or 2 midfielders as a matter of urgency. If not we will be back here in December with another interim manager as it is our usual tradition. |

He and Svidersky used to play double pivot a lot and because Svidersky is more defensive minded Savage ended up being the 8. I don't think he is mobile enough with and without the ball to play 8 at the top level, however in a team that hugs possession he would be a very decent 6. |

CapitalCee: afrodoc. Abeg who be this Iqbal Zidane sef. The boy and Savage pikin de play well. I said the academy is loaded with central midfielders. There is a possibility that there are 2,3, or even 4 players as good if not better than Savage and Iqbal. If Savage had a little more speed he would have been a sure banker to make it here. If Iqbal had a little bit more strength he would have been another sure banker. But then you have Mejbri, Mainoo, Hansen-Aaroen, Dan Gore as well. All between 17 and 19 so not more than 2 can make it here. Garner is highly favoured by the club hierarchy so that's another one. All of them should go and thank their local deity that they didn't meat Ole in charge. He would have wasted their potential the way Yahoo boys waste money. |
