Oasis007: Pogba and Fred offered nothing in the Match. Foólish Manager should stop playing Pogba and Bruno together. Pogba is not a winger, he's a fuckin Midfielder.
Team looks disjointed. No sign of Manager's tactical influence on the Team play. Fúck Ole fúck his Fans and whoever won't pull trigger on him. Fred played much better than McTominay in my opinion. Amaka took too long to remove him in that 2nd half. Pogba was crap all game but those injuries to Shaw and Maguire limited the changes that could be made. |

Spy360: Those who attend games are the local fans. That's what we are talking about. City have as much local fans as the likes of the London clubs and almost as United. It's the global fanbase that is not as huge. Arsenal fans are more loyal (probably because it's based in London) that's why they attend games to capacity.
There's no other logical reason for me for the organisers to leave airing our Carabao cup live than to encourage stadium attendance. I stand to be corrected. City does not have almost as much local fans as United and not as much as some of the London clubs. That is the reason they are struggling to fill their stadium. Their success of the last 10 years can't make a dent in local fan size because local fans don't shift alliance easily while global fans do. In terms of growth i am sure City's global appeal has grown more than its local appeal. A fan who has been going to the stadium to watch matches with his father and grandfather since childhood won't switch sides just because City has started winning titles. Global fans on the other hand don't mind as long as they get to watch quality football and win titles. P.S Arsenal fans are not more loyal but just have a big fan base and longstanding tradition. United with a bigger stadium than City also fill up their stadium in the same city. Liverpool and Newcastle (both non-London clubs) also regularly fill their big stadia, despite Newcastle being a laughingstock of a club. |

Spy360: Relative to who? Because I can say Femi Otedola is poor relative to Bill Gates.
There's been no concrete statement why the Arsenal match was not aired live. But it's definitely not because the club is fallen. What i am saying is that the Man City not filling its stadium point does not apply here. Man City is a 30 thousand to 40 thousand capacity stadium club playing in a 55,000 capacity stadium. A club like City has been developing greater and greater appeal globally and still can't fill their ultramodern stadium consistently, despite playing the best football and winning titles galore. This is because of the difference between the nature of fandom globally and its nature locally. Arsenal has been bigger than Man City for almost a century so they will always outsell Man City in England (at least for the next several years). Being a football fan in England is a generational thing so until the new breed Man City fans grow up, start having their own children, and more importantly start buying tickets for themselves and family, City will be behind the traditional big clubs in England. On the other hand it is easier for a club to become a global brand as most of the rest of the world are new fans anyway with no familial links to these clubs. Most people are just after the reigning team and jump ship once a hotter prospect come along. Or how many people here had their grandparents supporting Arsenal? For example, almost every Nigerian Chelsea fan i know personally was supporting Arsenal as recently as 2000. Within 20 years almost everybody moved to Chelsea. You can't get that kind of swing in England. P.S As regards why your match was not shown, i don't have a definite answer to that. I just know Man City not filling their stadium in England does not stop 100m new Chinese fans from staying up late in to watch City games. |

BlueRayDick: I don't think the match not showing has anything to do with reduction in number of those watching arsenal / how low arsenal has sunk.
If figures flying around online is to be believed, Arsenal sold more tickets for the league cup match against wimbledon than man city sold for their UCL match against Leipzig..... That's man city that has won the league 3 times in the last 4 years, last year's UCL finalist....
There might be more reason to why the match was not aired live, but it's definitely not because Arsenal as a club is losing fans as a result of recent poor performance. There's no how Arsenal will lose fans that will make man city have more fans than Arsenal. So it will be a poor business decision for the media not to air arsenal matches beacuse of peeceived reduction in number of arsenal fans You have to consider that Man City is traditionally a relatively small club with a small fan base in England. Most of their new fans and the new interest they are garnering is outside England, and that is the audience Live TV transmission is catered towards. They might have 100m new fans WORLDWIDE who want to watch their games on TV from their own continents but that won’t translate to butts on seats in the stadium. There is a good reason why their stadium is lovingly known as the Emptyhad stadium. |

patrickmuf: Matic was surprisingly mobile and yeah, VDB looked like he is now more confident to express himself...
I'd like to see a diamond midfield with McTom/Matic at the base, Pogba to the left, VDB to the right and Bruno on top with Ronaldo and Greenwood as the too CFs...The fullbacks (Shaw and Dalot) should provide the width while Pogba and VDB support whoever is selected at the base. This will give us the platform to control the midfield whilst not losing out on the attacking contributions of Bruno. As well, Greenwood will be closer to the box. Amaka tried that diamond field last season but ran away from it at the first sign of trouble. |

In the interest of world peace it might be beneficial to bench AWB a little bit and give Dalot a chance. AWB has not been playing up to his usual standard over the past few weeks. Maybe he needs a kick just the same way Telles gave Shaw a kick. |
