Ebukacute:Happy birthday. I am not even sure whether it’s prayer you prefer or incantation. Na which shrine you dey go celebrate am? |

Good. Full complement of attacking options. I expect Rashy to come out firing. |
raumdeuter:Deeply flawed individual and showed some sociopathic traits but in modern R&B i think he is unparalleled. |
patrickmuf:I have criticized Bruno here before wanting him to cut out some of his lapses BUT like i said yesterday, this weekend's game is NOT the time to criticize Bruno. He was our best player on the day. He created the most chances in a single EPL game in 3 years. That is the first thing. Wrong person, Wrong time. Bruno's day might come but it is not now. There are multiple people to be dragged over yesterday's game first. Secondly when one starts hearing things like he should stop stat padding then one wonders if people know what stat padding means. There are things to criticize Bruno about, i don't think stat padding is one of them. I think i will stop here and let you guys keep up your good work. |
My chairman don rush modify am add McFred to the statement. ![]() Everybody know where the problem dey, na disguise people just dey disguise. ![]() |
patrickmuf:But that is not what i asked na. What i said was that Larride wants you to walk him through your though process. |
patrickmuf:Larride wants you to walk him through your thought process. ![]() |
They want Bruno to score fewer goals, make fewer assists, and create fewer chances................so that he won't be seen to be stat padding. ![]() |
larride: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
adisaaowala:Ogbonlogba. Baba no fit kill himself. ![]() But the others need to step up to cover for him then. |
patrickmuf:Coming from you na agenda. Forget. ![]() I want a Godfearing person to mention it not Messianic people like you. |
patrickmuf: Amaka sat on his hands during Europa league final, unable to make changes and frozen like a snowman. ![]() Na dat one you think say go know what to do? |
eph12:The balance between Fred and McTominay was better than this. McTominay didn't get a pass because of his goals but because he chipped in with goals while contributing in midfield. Yesterday his midfield play was obviously lackadaisical and when i checked the stats at half time he had 0,0,0 in most of the defensive stats. He contributed virtually nothing yesterday allowing Fred to be overrun IMO. It is normally a bit more balanced between them but it wasn't yesterday. P.S Not like Fred had an excellent game cos he also struggled at times with and without the ball and his passing was worse than McTominay's in the first half, however in the 2nd half he put in a shift. |
eph12:A solid DM would do better cos he is a solid DM which Fred isn't. Even you have said 458 times on this thread that Fred is not a DM. Surely even if it remains a difficult job at least someone who has been trained to do the job will do better than someone who is not built for the role. |
nitrogen:If he is going to be a short 1 in game play then this season go long pass how we dey think am o. |
eph12:But you are not trying to drag him? ![]() How many of those balls did GhostTominay win back? |
nitrogen:Bruno has had his shyte days but yesterday is the wrong day to try to drag him. Many are just using the penalty miss to further their agenda ( i don't know if you are one of them). He was probably our best player but somehow you are now telling us that he is the reason for McFred's struggles. Yesterday i actually pitied Fred. He was poor in the first half but grew into the game and watching him cover for McTom was painful to see. I believe McTom is not match fit but Amaka has rushed him back from his surgery because he doesn't trust Matic or VDB. Meanwhile i noticed nobody has really mentioned CR7 standing like an Okorocha statue for most of the match. ![]() |
nitrogen:McTom with binary contribution yesterday. 0 tackle, 0 clearance, 1 interception, 0 blocked shot. 33 touches in 80 minutes. Can any God fearing individual tell me what he was doing on the pitch yesterday. |
Oasis007:Yes he would. If we are to go by that half our team would not be here. And that does not even mean anything. Both Bayern and Barca were happy to play Coutinho and he flopped in both places. Man City wanted to sign Fred and Sanchez before we stole them. No big club wanted to sign Mane or VVD from Southampton. We should judge players by how they perform for us not whether some other club would like them. |
nitrogen:It is primarily the duty of the CDM and CM. If the AM drops deep sure it will be better and if the wingers also drop deep surely it will be better. If Bruno drops into midfield yeah it will be more fluid BUT the main problem is that our 2 central midfielders are poor on the ball. The root cause of the problem we have with fluidity is McFred not Bruno. P.S I have started many times here that Bruno has to improve his possession play, be more patient and time/execute his passes better BUT this problem with building up play is IMO mainly a McFred issue not a Bruno issue. |
Oasis007:I don't know. Likely not at Bayern cos i believe that is Muller's position. Likely not at Man City because they don't play with a 10 and he is not better than KDB as a creative midfielder IMO. I don't know about Barca. Many mediocre players have gotten starts there over the last 2-3 years. But will AWB be a starter at any of those clubs? Will Fred be a starter at those clubs? Will McTominay be a starter at those clubs? Will DDG start at any of those clubs? I am not sure i get your point. What is the point you are trying to make? |
melodyogonna:This guy ![]() |
Oasis007: This is where you got it wrong. Possession lost by a CDM or CM is not the same thing as possession lost by a AM or SS. One is losing possession near the opposition box and the other is losing possession near our box. And in case you don't know fluidity of play is more due to the CDM or CM not the AM. It is primarily the job of McFred or Matic/VDB and not the job of Bruno or Lingard. Barca's possession fluidity was mainly due to Xavi and Busquets. Bayern's possession fluidity was mainly due to Kimmich/Thiago and not Muller. |
TrebleChamp:Comot dia! Even you no be OleOut. No be you form Decking Boys? Now you wan dey form OleOut. ![]() |
Oasis007:When they were comparing Bruno to KDB i tried to caution them. Even when some were comparing his skill set to Pogba's i was not in support. He has limits to his talent, however do you think yesterday's game is the one to use to criticize Bruno? Despite missing a penalty he had the best Whoscored rating in our team. Not saying he was excellent but the poor performance of the team was definitely not on him. He created 10 key passes while the rest of the team combined to create 11. He made 3 through passes out of 3 attempts, the rest of the team combined to create 1. It is very interesting to read some saying that he got 10 key passes because Greenwood converted the passes to key passes, as if Greenwood was banned from converting other players' passes to key passes. ![]() We lost the battle in central midfield where Fred (who had a shaky first half but much improved 2nd half) was left to play with GhostTominay who was invisible all game long. GhostTominay was a short one all game long. |
Sniper4real:That one is just looking for who to drag. Bruno had 10 key passes yesterday. It’s not a typo. He had TEN key passes. He also gave 3 accurate through balls, rest of the team 1. |
There is nothing more gangsta than a gangsta Slav. Even the language sounds ominous. |
slimghost:You channel your energy the way you like and let me channel my energy my own way too. ![]() |
CapitalCee:So is there anything Greenwood can do wrong that will qualify for criticism? Or we are to watch him play rubbish no matter the circumstance and say nothing because he is 19 and should not be criticized. If Martial had got constructive criticism at 19-20 instead of a song and pampering maybe he would have improved. I am not saying he is thrash and i am not sure anybody here is a bigger Greenwood fan than i am, but absolving young players of blame when they deserve it is a sure path to ruin for such a player. Anyway i don't expect the senior players and coaching staff to take this position you are taking. I am certain he will get a strong talking to in the dressing room. |
slimghost:Then quote them, not me. I am not picking on him. I didn't insult him. I am criticizing his performance, which is what young players need before they develop bad habits. Nobody is immune from criticism as long as it is fact based, realistic, and not personal. He had some good moves today, and created chances but he made wrong decisions at crucial times. |
slimghost:So to criticize a player's performance is now picking on him? |
CapitalCee:That is not the way to develop players. The fact that he is 19 or that he created the chances himself does not give him the right to be so wasteful and especially to waste them by making the wrong decisions. It was like i was watching Adnan Januzaj today, and you know how that ended. I am just shocked neither Bruno nor Ronaldo called him to order right there on the pitch before we lost the 3 points. He has to learn that football is a team game and that there is also glory in giving assists. |
