All these ones you're saying tactically is just you skewing the talk to suit your narrative. Alexis Sanchez/Mane is known always for helping his fullback wen defending, sometimes even winning the balls. Does that make them a defender? No. Also nobody will call TAA or Robertson wingers.
Like I says earlier, don't muddle up positions just to sound right, it's wrong in every way. Nobody (not even ardent Liverpool fans) will ever call Henderson a defender. Same way no Chelsea fan will call Kante a defender.

Man city have won 5 EPL titles, if I tell you to name their player of the seasons in each of their title wins now, you go run(or change mouth). Just one anomaly wey happen last season, you just bring defence wins you league as if it's a norm grin
You guys are actually missing the point.

What is an Arsenal fan's business with whether defense or attack wins titles when you are so far from the conversation. That is just an exercise in football theory and does not have any immediate practical utility.

The questions should be which of your players are good enough to be wearing the shirt of a top or ambitious club like Arsenal?
Where is the weakness in your team? Where do you need to improve?

To answer those questions you should go to the threads of Liverpool, Man City (if they have any fans), Man Utd, Chelshit, or even Bayern and ask them to pick the 3-5 players in your squad that they would accept into their squad if forced to.

Let's see how many of your defenders will make the list, and how many of your midfielders, or attackers will make it. You guys are parading bottom half defenders and expecting top half outcomes.

Matic at DM , Pogba at CM, Ronaldo at LW.

That combo is a killer combo......................against us.

Azeez only bulked up after last season. He was just as frail looking as Patino earlier, maybe not as much as Patino but there was a conscious effort to bulk him up to what he looks like right now. As far as positions go, Azeez is a CM but I can see a progression into an AM if asked to at Portsmouth. Mejbri already has a decent size, can hold his own defensively and I like his vision on the ball. Shouldn’t United be thinking of a loan for Mejbri at this point? I guess maybe next year.

I am trying to be careful when I compare Azeez and Patino and that is why I always say Azeez is slightly ahead of the curve, especially since he is now on loan but my head tells me differently. Azeez has the size now and is quite dangerous inside or around the box because of his shooting.

Patino’s technique on the ball is gracious to watch and he also sees things faster than his peers who play the same position and is able to break out of bad situations very well.
I am not sure Mejbri will ever go on loan. He might make the direct move just like Greenwood.

Yeah I agree with you about Patino seeing things fast which is why I said he has high IQ.

Most of the top teams have 2 or 3 talents in the youth set ups that have real potential. It’s all about opportunity, luck, timing.

Naaa.. He is doesn’t have that, if anything he is renowned for being level headed. I honestly will like to see Arsenal evolve past this double pivot system or use it with players who are technically gifted with the ball. The double pivot is too cautious and I have seen it hold teams back. I hope our next coach explores options other than the double pivot.

Patino/ Azeez will be interesting. While Azeez is ahead of the curve, Patino is right behind him, I mean very close. If both continue with their progression, I don’t see why they can’t make the senior squad as rotation players competing for the first 11. I will be keeping a close eye on Azeez at Portsmouth. I will like to see where coach Cowley uses him. Will he be used as a CM or an AM. All in all good vibes for both kids.
I think Azeez is a CM. Stylistically reminds me of our own Mejbri even though i think Mejbri is better. From the little i have seen Patino is a better controller than Azeez and depends more on IQ, vision, spatial awareness but Azeez is the faster, stronger, more incisive player.

Man City's youth team is just filled with above average to potential world class players and they have no weakness unlike other teams where you would have 2-3 good players with the rest being average.

From what I have seen, Patino is quite talented, I have been raving about him and have followed him closely since last year. Patino still needs to buildup some muscles, just a little, very little because he appears frail. A loan spell with a team where he can get heavy minutes will be next step. I like what Per is doing with the kids at the academy. There is a patient and conscious progression in their technical skills..

As for alcohol, he looks level headed, patient and carries himself well. Patino is a deep lying playmaker and I have not seen him get into heavy tackles or overzealous plays like JW did at that age.
I like left footed playmaking CMs. That Wilshere waste still dey pain me. English players tend not to have sense. Patino's major stumbling block like you rightly mentioned would be his lack of physicality. He needs to hit the gym.

Jones and Bailly are your professional colleagues na...I feel the club put that into perspective knowing too well that if any of Maguire or Varane is unavailable, we only have Lindelof as an option.
Then offload Jones and Bailly and make Mengi the 4th choice instead of making him loaf around and waste 1yr of development. The guy was playing Under-23 2 seasons ago. What he needs right now is game time and preferably learning from his mistakes in a lower profile environment.

Correction: Jones and Bailly are my senior colleagues. Even i don't have that much hospital experience.

Manchester United were beaten 4-3 by Stoke City in a behind-closed-doors friendly today. Mason Greenwood and Teden Mengi scored for United.
Why didn't the club allow Mengi go back on loan? What does he stand to gain by being the 5th choice CB?

I can understand any frustrations being vented out. We just had a transfer window that is most definitely top 5 dead or alive (like Jadakiss) and we fail to go for the jugular by getting a DM.

You have some of the best attackers in the world, why then do you hesitate to give them a solid trustworthy base to do their thing?
With the squad we have there is no way we shouldn’t make top 4. That is all the Glazers care about.

The purchase of CR7 was just in order to prevent another fan revolt or meltdown. They were happy with Sancho and Varane.

Our best penalty taker and best free kick taker should take those kicks unless we are already leading by gazilion goals and someone needs to complete a hat trick or something similar.

That is the ideal but of course i am sure they will toe the respect line and give everything to CR7.

As you get older, your athletic tricks get more predictable.
There was no time in their lives that Messi or Ronaldo had 93% career conversion for penalties even when they were young.

Matt Le Tissier took penalties until he retired in his 30s and ended up with 97% conversion rate.

Bruno is better than CR7 at penalties. Being a great player does not automatically make you a great penalty taker.

Doc...... don't mind jhaare. I knew he missed one more but didn't remember it was retaken.
Bruno is better than CR7 at penalties and it is not even close. However because of CR7's status he would likely get the nod ahead of Bruno, but let's not get it twisted about who the superior penalty taker is.

Even Messi with all his technique and finishing ability is just an average penalty taker. Being a great player and being a great penalty taker are not the exact same thing.
