Zelem softness was the reason . The team likes to press and Zelem is not too strong for that kind of game . Although she's a very good passer of the ball, but she doesn't have the work rate of Ladd and that Dutch Judo expert Groenen
But she'll get to play anyway against the small teams or get subbed in to slow down games against big teams

Toone is not the most skillful of 10s/AM but she's very efficient on the ball and gan shoot well and score. It's one of the reason why the coach had to drop Groenen who was the AM last season to a deeper role because Groenen is not much of a goal scoring AM. Toone also has good work rate too and presses well. She's more of a Thomas Muller type of AM. No too much skill, just efficiency and raking up the numbers. Always in the right places to make or receive passes, quick release of the ball without any ball hugging shenanigans that usually slow down attacks.

Excellent analysis. Zelem is a decent technician but she is always moving like i never chop.

Toone is a functional goal scoring AM. Muller is a very good comparison. I have seen her play nothing and bag 2 goals. I think her position might be Lauren James' best position though.

Will Fish has potential. His partnership with Mengi is the best i have seen in our youth set up for a very long time. I only wish Fish was a little faster and Mengi was a little taller.

Greenwood, Mengi, Fish are the only 3 players from the academy i can recall in the last 3-4 years that that moved seamlessly from Under-16 to Under-18 and then Under-23 without any struggle.

The Under-18s have 3 central defenders with potential as well. Our youth recruitment has improved significantly in the last few years.
