If Ole is a smart coach, since we have been unable to buy a proper RW and our defence have been comical he should switch to a 3-5-2 formation. Rotate Martial, Greenwood, Rashford and Cavani as the two strikers. Shaw can play as the LCB closest to the LWB. Telles is s perfect candidate for LWB. The problem is who will play as RWB. Wan Bissaka is extremely poor with a very low football IQ, poor touch, etc. Crystal Palace scammed us big time.

Indeed he wants to play a certain style but fails to identify the qualities in each position needed to play that style. I don't totally blame him for failing to spot Magwayas lack of pace though. Magwaya at Leicester and Sheffield drifts past players with the ball when driving forward from defence that it will give you the false impression he has some pace. You will not know he drifted past those players due to feints that put them off balance and allowed him to surge past them. It is only when you turn Magwaya toward his own goal that you notice his lack of pace.

His first need in that team is a solid DM. He could have asked for Hojberg and Allan who would cost him a combined £40m and solve half his problems, yet he keeps going for megabucks players.

Chief, the leaky nature of our defence is based more on our coaching and defense system than the defenders. Against Spurs, their Wingers were usually drifting inward dragging our FBs inside providing space for their FBs to bomb forward. I was shocked on numerous occasions where we couldn't defend this simple strategy. Our wingers (Greenwood and Rashford) were supposed to track and defend against their fullbacks or defend using the zonal system, where the DM would track the winger coming inside towards the 18 yards box.

Agaisnt Brighton they explored us with one of the benefits of playing the 3-5-2 or 3-4-3 systems. I repeat we actually have more of a coaching problem than a personnel problem.

I concur Doc. But going forward other clubs will now realise we won't be paying crazy transfer fee to sign players. Am really sad that the club did not sign a good RW and striker, i hope Ole can tweak his formation to bring out the best in his players.

Valid point as well Doc, but i remember Zlatan saying he agreed to join us because of Jose. Most big players will want to play for us now cos they are aware the club pays crazy wages. Sanchez already has a deal with City before Mourinho and Ed came up with a crazy wages plus bonuses, dude switch lane sharperly. like Nezzjnr said, maybe Ed is trying to make a statement that United is no longer a maga club. Ole needs to work on his weakness and get this team playing well winning matches, even if it's mostly against lower teams...
