Criticize the players that Rashford is useless, Pogba is an idiot , Maguire is slow. Then criticize the board for not buying better players than Maguire and AWB.

Then criticize the same board for trying to buy better players than Maguire and AWB e.g Sancho.

All the while calling the manager a fool for not impressing you with the same Rashford and Pogba that you have severely lambasted.

Before our eyes Greenwood keeps getting physically stronger everyday and his link up play is already approaching Martial's own. His decision making about when to dribble and when to pass is already at his level too. His finishing is already better.

Martial is still stronger (for now) and mos def has the silkier touch but that is about it. If Rashford recovers from his back injury Martial's spot might be the one in danger with Greenwood eventually moving to CF.

Back to the discourse. Yes, Awb is to be blamed, but then, I guess only very few players (no matter how professional they're) are just left to do their things without a manager dishing out instructions one way or the other...

It's a simple sturv, ole sees that Awb is still tucking in with CBs even after the change. The manager seeing that, still left him without trying to make him do what is right?
It's so so bad. There's a reason why the coach have a seat close to the pitch and not up in the stands like fans. It's for simple things like this, and to call players to order in case they err, and not just viewing like fans

On that Ole sitting down like a spectator thing that one has been confirmed. Only God knows why he keeps sitting down when things are not going right.

In terms of having a creative pattern of play as well Ole is an otu. Players pass and stay in the same position. It is a makanaki something.

But what people tend to do here is pile all the blame on one person. Rather than being balanced with criticism.

The coach saw he was struggling to cope with the Brighton wing back system and switched his formation and moved him to Right WB with the extra security of a RCB (Bailly) behind him.

Making him a Right WB back matched him directly against the opposing Left Wing back (in this case March). Any smart defender would know his primary duty AND the major reason for the switch in formation was for him to close down the wing back who had been peppering our goal post with shots.
Instead AWB was going narrow to crowd the 6 yard box with 3 other CBs.

At what point do we give some blame to the defender who, rumor has it, was born with a brain just like the rest of humanity.

1) You have to prove he was not instructed to stay wide. Shaw had no such problems. Somehow the instructions got to Shaw but not AWB.

2) Why should a professional defender need in-game instructions on the differences between playing FB and playing WB.


AWB is not tactically sound. This is what you should accept and you will know peace.
Outside his 1v1 tackles he is a poor defender and any sort of complicated defense scheme usually leaves him struggling.

We had enough defenders in the box and AWB should have been out on March. As a WB he had no position being so narrow espeically when there were enough defenders in the box.

This one is on AWB really. Bruno could have helped him out though but he too fell asleep.

3-5-2 and 3-4-3 formations are going to give us a lot of problems this season because our CBs are not comfortable on 1 v 1 situations, forcing our fullbacks to tucking thereby freeing the opposition's wing backs.

AWB is tactically a dunce. He didn't understand the difference between his role as a RB and his role as a WB.

WIth 3 CBs he should have been on March and allowed the 3 CBs sort themselves out.

AWB and Shaw have not been the only ones guilty of this. This team will prefer to pass the ball back than to make that cross. And when you look at the post, nobody even bothered to make the run. Whether its Greenwood, Rashford, Martial, Bruno, Pogba, Shaw or AWB with the ball, it's the same result.

I can fault them for their woeful crosses but that's not the case here. They don't even consider it at all. I hope you understand my point here

Ok i get you now. It is just another sign of Ole's inability to teach patterns. If there are no off the ball movements and midfielders ghosting into the box those crosses won't be effective.

This team does not know how to play quick pass and move OR dynamic triangles, and it is all on the coaching staff.
