HanksAnuku: My thoughts on yesterday's game.
1. Bin David Luiz, or move him to midfield. 2. Kovacic-Jorginho-Barkley is looking increasingly like the answer to the midfield trio question. Another suggestion is perhaps, Barkley/Kove -Jorginho- Luiz.
Jorginho at DM is an incredible passer but cant defend and isnt very mobile. Kante at CM is very mobile and very good at defending, but cant pass, dribble or shoot. Luiz at CB is a jack of all trades, but master of none. He's a 6/10 in every aspect apart from his haircut where he gets top marks.
3. The ambassador of the sunken place needs to go. From today I refuse to even mention his name, and will only ever refer to him as ambassador, or amba for short.
4. Hazard is still suffering from being the only effective ball carrier we actually have. At this point, i'm beginning to ask if we really need Hazard and Jorginho in the same team, giving that they basically do the same job, albeit in different ways. Jorginho needs runners ahead of him, not people like Hazard who want the ball to feet.
Maybe we want to borrow a leaf from Liverpool and switch to a 4231 where Kante and Luiz can just sit in the middle, with Hazard at 10, and Amba, Barkley and Pedro ahead just making runs for days. Otherwise if we choose to play a midfield 3, it may be time to consider benching Hazard.
5. Kepa's positioning and reflexes are very suspect. That Kane goal was just a speculative shot from miles away. Kepa should have seen that coming easily. See epistle to the Corinthians. You want them to bench Kante, he that covereth the whole world.......oba aterere kari aiye. You want them to bench Hazard, he that is on the same level with Messi and Lord Ororo? You want them to bench Ambassador himself. Person whose first touch is softer than that of a succubus. And you are maliciously maligning world's best keeper arigbabu a.k.a aribisala a.k.a stand well well of having suspect reflexes. If you bench all these guys who will remain? At this rate what Chelsea needs most urgently is a carpenter to construct longer bench. Finally, if only keeper Arigbabu had Luiz reflexes and Hazard's flexibility. |

I just thank God that the Maldini theory has vindicated my stance that Alagolo is a fraud.
Such tackle to interception stats must mean he is often out of position.
And who buddes 7-8 times like a mechanic when playing along side quality like kimmich, Neuer, Hummels |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by afrodoc2: 1:49am On Nov 23, 2018 |
Now back to counting titles. At least we have put to bed the fiction about Alagolo. 7 buddes into the clouds as if he was a mechanic playing Sunday league football at Agege stadium. 6 tackles due to poor positioning as per the Maldini theory. Higher career tackling stats than VVD, lower career interception stats I.e all over the place/wrongly positioned defender. Alagolo is a fraud. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by afrodoc2: 1:42am On Nov 23, 2018 |
raumdeuter: So you mean we cannot find actions and particular big games that VVD delivered and we can checks So you mean VVD with 2.5 interceptions/game is better in the quality you yourself said was no1 defender quality, while Boateng with his tackle stats is badly positioned and all over the place? |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by afrodoc2: 1:30am On Nov 23, 2018 |
This is what is now obvious.
1) 2014 World Cup final. Boateng 1 goal line clearance, 7 senseless buddes.
2) Boateng more tackles, VVD more interceptions. Ergo, Boateng more often wrongly positioned.
Let us not even mention the fact that Alagolo has zero organizational ability. Always anchoring zig zag line defence. Alagolo is a counterfeit. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by afrodoc2: 1:12am On Nov 23, 2018 |
raumdeuter: My point about Boateng was his performance in footballs biggest games the world cup final and the CL final which he bossed and was the best defender on the night
Let us see VVD in those big games of his career
While Boateng led his defence to concede 1 goal to win the CL playing Juve, Barca and Dortmund. VVD led his defence to concede 10 goals in 4 games
So before you deflect bring out the key games of VVDs career and how he performed in it You have said so many times that no1 quality for a CB is interceptions, and that tackles means the player was wrongly positioned. VVD more interceptions than Boateng, Boateng more tackles. Meaning Boateng more often wrongly positioned and VVD better positioned, no? |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by afrodoc2: 12:57am On Nov 23, 2018 |
raumdeuter: They should present the game or games wit gif evidence of VVD doing this like I gave detailed with Boateng
Or should we just assume he was doing that? This is not a one night thing. Boating 1.6 tackle/game club career average VVD 1.3 tackles/game Boateng 1.9 interceptions VVD 2.5 interceptions. So Boateng makes more tackles over his career while VVD makes more interceptions. Is Boateng always in emergency mode? When he is not a doctor. Or does it just mean he is often wrongly positioned, at least according to the Maldini theory. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by afrodoc2: 12:48am On Nov 23, 2018 |
raumdeuter: Boateng played alongside a disastrous Hummels on the night and had to do the job of 2 defenders vs Messi and co
When Boateng was expecting his partner Hummels to handle business and he was slacking, he had to resort to emergency measures Why didn’t you use this to explain VVD’s clearance and tackle statistics? VVD was playing beside wastepipes like Matip, Klavan and in front of a certified clown like Judas isKarius but you expect him to be dribbling and passing out of defence BUT Alagolo is playing beside Hummels and Kimmich and in front of the great Neuer and you are hyping his countless buddes. |

Eph12 catch Dayo for this one. Alagolo made 1 or 2 goal line clearances and about 7 “budde to the skies” clearances. He also made 6 tackles, and we have been told this means he was wrongly positioned 6 times. That is not in keeping with Maldini’s theory. Means Boateng alagolo was and is a useless defender. |

eph12: So a player can drift in and out of world class?
And is a players true value or output not a function of his team? This includes teammates and coach I don't know what you mean by drifting in an out. I have told you my view on what i think is required of a player before he can be called world class. A player's value depends TO AN EXTENT on his team but we can't use that argument loosely if not people will come out of the woodwork claiming that Hazard is as good as Messi but it is the team that is holding him back or claiming that Stanley Okoro is as good as Hazard . Nobody is born world class and you don't inherit it like a royal title. You are world class by your performances on the pitch and if for a long stretch of 2,3, 4 years you don't give consistently world class or top quality performances then your status as a world class player is in doubt. I conclude by asking you if you think Fernando Torres is a world class striker. |

eph12: So we can say a player can be world class this year and the next year he's not, then if he picks up again he becomes world class again? Being world class is about consistently giving top quality performances. A player who does not do that for 2-3 years straight has stopped being world class and one who does that can be called world class. |

You people sha like argument. But wait sef let's be honest Pogba has not fulfilled his half of the bargain as a record signing.
He is not consistent and he still does not play like someone who fully understands the role of a central midfielder. He is neither winning individual awards nor making team of the season selections, and the team has not won much or played consistently well.
If i was a Pogba fanatic i would not be coming here to castigate those who were not all in at the start, because he has not done anything to go wild about. |

Oasis007: Matic has done his best for the Team, he's getting weaker, slower and annoying with ball possession. Either of Perreira or Herreira deserves a look in.
Moreso, Mou should forget playing Lukaku as a leading Striker for now, and perhaps switch the Formation to 4 - 4 - 2 (diamond midfield shape) with FBs operating as WBs.
Martial and Rashford upfront, Sanchez/Mata at the tip of Midfield, Fred as a RM, Pogba as a LM, and Matic/Perreira at the Base.
Less defensive Work gonna bring out the best in both Martial and Rashford IMO. One thing i hate about our midfield and that makes our play disjointed is playing right footed Pogba at LM and playing left footed Fred at RM. Even when it is only Pogba and Matic they drift to left and right respectively. Just increases the lack of width in our game. |
