adisaaowala your guy never give us evidence of the times fergie parked the bus against teams worse than everton and sunderland? |
diggz:Exactly. Mikki is useless in a bus parking scheme like the one we used ysterday. JM should have gone with 3 CM and 2 pacy guys to flank Lukaku, that way we would have viable avenues for counter attacks. Nobody is against the OCCASIONAL defensive scheme, the problem is when you do it to such an extreme that we have no avenue to hit counter attacks and our attack looks toothless AND when you do it almost every time we face a good team. Bus parking can't be the only way to get 1 point away from home against good teams. |
diggz:Same reason Willian should sit for Charly boi. |
adisaaowala:hehehe. Everybody wan prove say na dem loyal pass. |
No way would McTominay have been worse than Mikki yesterday though. Sometimes you have to place your trust in youngsters, if they are good enough they are old enough. I am a Mikki fan but he needs to sit on the bench for a little bit before he derails our season with his shortoneism. |
larride:He worked hard but he was a bit overzealous in his closing down thereby getting beaten easil and also he appeared quite clueless most times he had the ball. However he and Matic had an uphill task considering the tactics and considering the fact that they had invisible man Mikki with them. These boys obviously practiced only defense all week long because NOBODY had any clue to do with the ball when we won it. There was no plan for attack, no plan for counter attack. The few opportunities we had to initiate quick counter attacks were spoilt by our guys wasting time on the ball until they were under pressure from the Liverpool press then passing the ball back to DDG. |
Tactical masterclass ko, magical masterchef ni. We were saved by a combo of bad finishing and super goalkeeping. The tactics mainly helped in crippling our attack and giving us only one decent chance, luckily Liv squandered their plethora of chances. The issue is not even whether the tactics worked or not, the problem is why does JM season after season deploy bus parking tactics against this mediocre Liverpool side? This side with part time defenders who were made to feel like Baresi and Maldini today. We didn't gain 1 point today, rather we lost 2. |
adisaaowala:Young has tried up to his level and he has actually been on of our sharpest players today, apart from the rebound opportunity where he was counting leg. JM needs to change the formation or at least the tactics. It is almost criminal for us to allow this porous and oshofree Liv defence go under almost no pressure. It is one thing to play defensive and it is another thing to abdicate your attacking responsibilities, we are doing the latter. |
adisaaowala:Not is fault. When your manager is telling to position yourself at the edge of your 18 yard box it would be hard to have any impact. Changing him won't make any difference if the tactics don't change, and he was the main person involved in creating our only shot on target too. Mikki has had an impact on the game so far, a negative impact. I don't know who he is marking or tracking and he has been slow to close down Liv players and of little use going forward. |
adisaaowala:If Martial has been anonymous what would you call Mikki? invisible? nonexistent? Anyway i don't blame any of the players, this is what happens to attacking players when the manager opts for an ultradefensive system. |
Whatever formation JM uses tody i hope the players understand their duties and execute them accordingly. If we start brightly and score first we will get the 3 points. |
larride:Omo e be like say una dey use Eminem white skin cheat am. Who is Kendrick? Eminem's lyrical dexterity is unheard of for a commercial rapper. Eminem will murder any other top rapper in a freestyle. I remember when The Game was interviewed and he laughed and said nobody wanted a piece of Eminem in a battle. |
diggz:He is a very good hip hop singer, you can't knock either his talent or his hustle. ![]() |
Nihilist:It is an argument that can never be settled and has been going on for decades. Like Dayo said there are too many variables e.g lyrical ability, style of rap, longevity, album sales, street cred, cultural influence, charisma, personal preference e.t.c However there are some constants. Nobody and definitely not Drake is knocking Pac and Big out of the top 5. These dudes died 2 decades ago and top rappers of today are still famzing them. There is still so much reverence attached to those names that even if you are the first rapper to sell to aliens you can't knock them off. Based on longevity, classic albums and winning alone Jay Z makes top 5 and Eminem has to go in too. IN MY OPINION Pac, Biggie, Jay Z and Eminem are top 5 all time, the last spot is up for grabs. I also always liked KRS One, Rakim, Method Man, DMX at his best, LL when he wasn't rapping romance, Nas, Ice Cube, Snoop in his very early years . P.S and oh yeah you are wrong Drake is a singer lol, and you are right Talib Kweli was lyrically insane......shout out to Q-Tip and Mos Def. My taste is a combo of conscious rap and gangsta but i hate singers. |
chrisley024:I am telling you. He has been playing for the Swiss so far, an extra defender. |
diggz:This na accumulated aggro. Na wetin SS3 don tell SS1, SS1 tell JSS2 say the Principal wicked. This has been happening for years now in the club and not much has changed. I doubt if any Chelsea youth team player believes he has any real chance of making the first team. Digressing a little, who don jam FIFA 18 here? How the thing be? Which clubs tight for there? I like solid defence and pace in the attack, no frills (power and pace like elampiro) |
Nihilist:I agree with you that his tantrum was misplaced and might actually backfire on him. However the crux of the matter remains. Chelsea youth players are being marginalized and this feeling is probably something all those boys have discussed amongst themselves and feel bitter about, Charly boi was just the one who cracked. It is not easy for those young players to watch year in year out the players they disgraced at youth level go on to big things in other clubs while eunuchs like Willian and Fernando Torres keep them from the team. |
sinizia:The day he played Young at CF with Martial on the wings against Spurs was when i gave up on him and washed my hands off his case. The man was demented and nobody knew it. |
Chelsea youth players knacking everybody apako but somehow none of these guys is good enough. You don't need Olumba Olumba to tell you that there is something wrong with youth integration in the club. If Rashford was in Chelsea he probably would have been in Vitesse now slugging it out in that elere divisie. And why una wan rewrite history about how he get him start? Una weh done sirs. |
Nihilist:Now you are giving excuses why he wasn't started, i thought you said he was given a chance IMMEDIATELY? Even Sherwood that knew him from childhood and nurtured him through his countless loan spels was reluctant to start him. Not every youth player hits the ground running. Not everybody is Mbappe or Rashford or Michael Owen. Also you can't hold young players to a higher standard than established players and i think this is where i really disagree with your ideas on youth development. You can't expect Musonda to hit the ground running and start scoring freely when this hyena Wiilain himself is as impotent as Lord Varys, averaging 4 league goals per season over his career. Willian has plateaued and has started declining meanwhile there is still hope for Musonda to become more than an activity former like Willian.....but he needs minutes. |
Nihilist:There was no other striker in the United set up that day. Nobody else was fit even in the academy. All senior strikers injured, 2 youth strikers injured, 1 reserve striker on loan. That was the situation that day. This is not hypothesis, it is fact. Unless you wanted Van Gaal to name himself to the bench. I watched Sherwood say that while he was a studio analyst last season. And he did not immediately drop Soldado anything. Sherwood took charge in December and he gave Harry Kane his league start in April.......half a season is not immediately . The records are there, Harry Kane scored a handsome total of 3 league goals that season..........he was that hot lol |
Nihilist:I have listened to Tim Sherwood himself say that he and other top guys at Spurs did not expect Harry Kane to go on and become this good. I was surprised because i expected him to reel out the usual " i always knew he was good" story but he was honest and told the truth. And the season Sherwood was there coaching Adebayor and Harry Kane he scored 3 goals in 10 league matches, i wouldnt call that hot. To give you another indication Harry Kane made his Spurs debut in 2011 after which he went on loan after loan after loan without making waves only for him to get his first Spurs league goal ALMOST 3 YEARS AFTER in 2014. Rashford was on the bench because there was no other striker in the United set up that was fit up to under 18 squad sef. All senior strikers were injured, Martial got injured on the day, Wilson was injured, Will Keane was injured, Ashley Fletcher was on loan. Last year it got so bad the United reserve team was playing central midfielders at CF position because there was just nobody to play it. That was why Rashford played that day. It took an injury crisis. The boy is good but let us not rewrite history. |
Rashford was lucky to get his chance. Nobody expected him to be this good and definitely not at this age and all the praise is AFTER the fact. There was little hype about Rashford anywhere before he got his chance and that chance was due to injuries and loans to about 4 or 5 players on that faithful day. There is something defective about the youth policy in Chelsea if your last established youth product before this season is in his mid 30s despite your youth teams knacking everybody. Harry Kane didn't exactly set the world alight in all his loan spells, or is there anyone here who heard of him then? And even when he got his chance at Spurs it took several matches to find his feet and now he is a goal king. You can't be giving a youth player piecemeal minutes and yet be holding him to a higher standard than a senior player who has been fecal all season long. If anything the youth player should be held to a lower standard cos after all there is room for learning and improvement while in Willian's case we all know say him brain don ossify. |
Last year when we said Willian was a chronically unproductive "activity former" people went up in arms. Musonda might not be the savior but he deserves a chance to fight for that spot that Willian has been hoarding like a dog in the manger. |
Nihilist:The only Zimbabwean guy i know well is an Intensivist/ED consultant and that guy sabi book like shege. What i have been told is that they tend to have confidence (and sometimes over confidence) like Nigerians unlike other African nationals. |
Nihilist:They are both clowns but Chisora is the bigger clown both literally and figuratively. Zab Judah was actually once decent, a 4 time world champion in 2 different weight classes. |
Lana1:Ali was a con artist. You go see him fine boy you go think say he is all about skill. That guy was as tough as they come and had probably the toughest chin of all time. To be top dog in the 70s with all the killers lined up at that time was no mean feat. |
Lana1:Nice collection. People that should know say Ernie Shavers was the hardest hitter who ever lived. That zombie punch though Roy Jones was special |
diggz:abeg you get link for this match? |
hoopLA:Yeah I have noticed that but I am guessing it is a program gimmick. It is likely in order to place him in opposition to Skip who is notorious for saying Lebron turned from the chosen one to the frozen one in the NBA finals against the Mavs. Same way Skip is a Brady apologist and Shannon tries to knock Brady all the time. Their positions might be authentic and honest but the extremism with which they defend them are for TV. All na to increase viewership. |
hoopLA:Yeah he can be hilarious. Apologist for what though? |
hoopLA:Hahaha. It was subconscious mate. Truly I have watched Skip for years but I usually oppose his eccentric views. Right now Shannon Sharpe is the man, mixing honesty with humor. |
