That is a major problem if we try to switch to a 4-2-3-1, Pogba has refused to adjust his game accordingly when played in a deeper position......still tries flicks and slows play down no matter where he is on the field.
I believe we have to stick with him and play him in his best position and that means continuing with a 4-3-3 formation for the coming seasons. And that requires us not to shoot ourselves in the foot by adding other big money players that will/might struggle in a 4-3-3.

That would entail a change of formation. I am not against buying Griezmann but I hope it the manager already knows how he wants to use him rather than a case of just going out to buy the most expensive player possible without knowing how to use him. That is what makes you lose 6, 8 points early in the season and leads to playing catch up all season.
There are also a few other points.
1) Martial should be allowed to develop in that LWF as our no 1 option.
2) Rooney should be allowed to leave at the end of the season. If Mikki and Rashford share RWF going forward I will prefer us going for Aubameyang rather than Griezmann BUT if JM has confidence in Rasford as a CF then we might go for Griezmann who is more versatile. The deciding factor would be JM's plans for Mata and Rashford next season.
3) We should not rely on Zlatan for next season , when his decline comes it will be sudden. If he does well let it be a bonus.

Griezmann plays as either a winger, a supporting striker or a false 9! He is good in all those positions!

Griezmann is a good player but i am not sure there is a ready made position for him in this team. I am not saying we should not go for him but we should desist from just trying to buy every star footballer in the market without knowing how they will fit into the team.
We need to build the best team not just buy the best players out there.
Apart from Zlatan's no 9 position there is no obvious place for Griezmann in Mourinho's 4-3-3 especially with the way JM wants his wide men to track back.

Yeah. That was the match in which JM parked the bus. We have dropped too many unnecessary points already this season and if we don't start beating other top 6 teams especially at home we won't make top 4. We need to beat the other top teams and deny them points, beating the small teams and getting draws or losses against the big teams won't be enough.

In the middle of our best run we faced a Liverpool side that was in the middle of a bad run minus their 2 best attacking players and we couldn't beat them.....AT HOME!

The penalty aside the dab lord is not learning. He has all the "skills" needed to succeed but he is not adding them together.
He does not know how to play his position. He can dribble, pass and shoot but does not know WHEN and WHERE to do them. His decision making is poor, his positional discipline is poor, his work rate needs to improve.
I am tired of watching quick passing moves die at his feet as he holds on to the ball trying to decide what dribbling trick to use, only to lose the ball in a crucial position or pass the ball 1 or 2 seconds too late.

When a ball is rolled or passed over to an overlapping full back it is not compulsory you trap first before crossing. By trapping first always he gives his opponents time to catch up and contest his cross. This is a major reason most of his crosses are blocked

At the 70 min mark Liverpool had covered 89km and we had covered 79km. They out ran and out hustled us. We needed more work rate and closing down from the team and with 2 strollers in Zlatan and Pogba that was difficult.
Rashford on the pitch with his pace and movement would have dragged their defence back and negated their midfield press to a large extent.
It is worrying that Pogba stayed on that pitch for the whole game despite the crap he played.

We still need wide men o. Mikki is not a wide man, Mata is not a wide man. The right wing is dead because our over lapping full back there can't cross with accuracy and consistency, the left wing is weak cos the full back there can't support the winger.

A major problem Mourinho has have been exposed today. He does not have the courage to take of Pogba and Zlatan when they are playing rubbish. There is no explanation for Pogba playing 90 minutes and for not bringing Rashford on possibly for Zlatan.

Klopp has taken the view that Lucas is less dependable to carry out the constant pressing and harassment needed from his midfielders. He can't cover as much ground as the rest or run as long as the rest. In klopps team and his view of football constant pressing, harrying and movement is more important than quarterbacking like Carrick or shielding like Makelele

Klopp requires constant pressing and movement from all his midfielders and forwards. Lucas can't do that week in week out that is one reason why he is down the pecking order. Someone else who has similar limitations is Daniel Sturridge.

The funny thing is Klopp doesn't even trust Can in a lone pivot role and prefers to use him alongside another DM and this inevitably pushes Lallana to the wing when we all know his transition into the midfield was what brought out his best. I don't understand why Klopp can't put out a midfield of Lucas, Widja and Lallana whenever Henderson is out injured. Emre Can is just too terrible for an option!

Lucas is as bad. No pace, no stamina, limited passer. Klopp is managing all of them in midfield including Henderson self. I believe that is where he plans to reinforce his team next season.....and LB of course.

Lack of options in midfield. Milner is full back, Lucas is finished, Wijnaldum is more of an AM/opposition box player. In CM/DM they have Henderson and Emre Can as their only consistently viable options. He has his uses though.
