Ibime: Leave dat ting. Next time Witsel sees Hazard in National Team, he will oppress him with wealth. Make Hazard dey there dey chase WPOTY instead of to go find money. Witsel didn't start his own today. It started right from his Russian runs, and you people are talking like players in Europe are paid peanuts. At their level money should not be everything IMO. |

Leyqute: He was the best in the past. One would think he'd improve. Hope Jones, Smelling n Bailly improve on what they are at the moment He was never very good with the ball and he is too old to develop ball skills now. As a pure defender though he is not that bad and all players fit i still rate him ahead of potential penalty donor Rojo. Bailly and Jones are the best in my opinion, problem is you can't count on Jones not to injure himself while yawning in his sleep. |

chrisley024: I think cos of our next away game against Westham.
Bailey and Rojo look like our best CB passers after Blind. Looks like Smalling will hardly get games. He made little error in the goal we conceded. I remember when i said Bailly was a better passer than Smalling some peeps here doubted. Smalling is an old school defender, he is not a modern day footballer....he has some quality without the ball and practically none with it. |

Leyqute: Smalling kinda disappointed today. That dude better get his head straight or his future at Utd is in danger All players fit Bailly and Jones are better than Smalling. He has 2 things going for him, his height and the fact that he is not injury prone. In almost every other aspect i rate those 2 ahead of him |

Martial was in form today and long may it continue. I think going forward we should play Mikki and Martial wide with Carrick, Pogba and Herrera in midfield BUT when Carrick is missing it is either 1) we replace him with Schweinsteiger or 2) Move Mikki centrally and bring on Mata/Lingard/Rashford to man the RW. MAIN THING IS THAT FELLAINI SHOULD BE FAR FROM THE 1ST TEAM THE SAME WAY MEMPHIS AND ASHLEY YOUNG ARE. |

chrisley024: Our midfield is just poor. I don't see what Fellaini is doing while Pogba should get serious We don't need Fellaini in this match cos this Boro team is ready to defend for 90 mins, what we need is pace on the flanks and a bit more creativity and flow through the middle. Fellaini out and Lingard or Rashford to the RW with Mikki switching to the middle |

chic2pimp: Hahahaha she has always beenn overrrated. Look at the list of bums she fought before Holms totally destroyed Her. Her "Goood looks" also helped generate the hype if we are tbh. Unfortunately Her buying into the hype was the beginning of Her undoing. Should have stuck to fighting bums. There was hype i agree but she had talent too. I think it is just that these newer entrants have real knock out power, something she does not have cos she is a grappler (being a judoka ). That Nunes girl can swing, all her punches today were hits back to back. Nunes and Holm are both very good boxers with 1 punch knock out ability and those were the ones that gave Rousey problems. It was more of a match up problem rather than Ronda being overrated. For example this same Amanda Nunes that knocked out Rousey has lost to Cat Zingano, Alexis Davis, and Sarah D'alelio. Guess what all 3 have in common? They all lost to Ronda Rousey in less than 30 seconds. Styles make fights and Rousey was not fighting bums. |

I don't think it will be wise to allow Martial go on loan this season. This 2nd half of the season will be very competitive and we will need all our resources available here not on loan in la liga.
It would make more sense to offload players like Darmian, Young who are not going to feature. Unfortunately the reserve team has nobody of real potential apart from maybe Tuanzebe so we can rely on only senior team players and January imports.........there is no Rashford or Adnan in that reserve team |

For that reason I will choose Effenberg and he had a lot of grit, was old school German like Roy Keane , But talent wise I will say Ballack was better. Yeah i think that is about right. I might give the edge to Effenberg because of his toughness and grit. Even talent wise he was as good in my opinion just that he played in a more loaded era. |

A40: Lampard was a great player no doubt (Bayern were shyte that year btw) but when someone comes to tell us he was an elite AM in 2002 and even 2003 when Chelsea were still getting sonned by Viking of Norway then kasala go burst. As bad as he was he still did next to nothing at country level. High premium should also be placed on International footie. Life does not begin and end in the EPL I am not actually against you in this argument, just playing devil's advocate. There is a name that i would put above Lampard's in that time frame but i just want the debate between you 2 respected men to be more structured. So A40 overall performance 2003 to 2013 which AM or AMs would you place ahead of Lampard and why? |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by afrodoc2: 8:09pm On Dec 22, 2016 |
To have a good debate between the 2 of you we should at least have terms of reference. Lampard went 10 straight seasons from 2003/2004 to 2012/2013 in which he scored double figures in the league. So we start by using that time frame, 2003 to 2013 The onus is on Ibime to prove that in that time frame 2003 to 2013 Lampard was the best attacking midfielder overall while A40 should show us another attacking midfielder whose performance over that period was better overall than Lampard's |

A40: Did the same what? You mean James dragged Colombia to a WC Final and won a treble in the same year abi what is the meaning of this dangbana comparison?
I don't know when you would stop bombarding us with zobo. Where did you see Sneijder taking on Lyon while at Madrid? He spent just two seasons with them and they lost to Roma and Liverpool (Sneijder missed both legs vs Roma) I don't know when lies are going to finish from that your mouth. What can be worse than getting knocked out by goddamn Viking?
Where were his goals and assists when Sneijder was Tom Bradying his team to a treble and a CL Final
Deco was European player of the Year and Midfielder of the Year. MOTM in a CL Final, Shey we should discard UEFA and follow Ibime's opinion? Ominiknowest
What Deco did at Chelsea is none of my concern. He had won two CL's and won the individual accolades you lot collectively fap about A40 which year was Deco European player of the year? |

Nihilist: Thiago, Veratti, Weigl who are these people?
England has produced the likes of Lampard, Gerrard and Scholes so it's not really a coaching thing. Neither is it a talent issue.
Of course physicality is a part of it. You need to be fit to play, and you need to play to improve. The issue is the way these guys are overplayed. I remember reading that Ferguson promised Jorge Mendes to only play Ronaldo in 50% of his games to avoid burn out.
The intensity is insane. Look at your club for example. Mikhtrayan wasnt even fit enough to play till recently and he's injured again. Phil Jones is a permacrock. Bailly came back from injury and injured his other knee in a sprint.
Then you have managers like Mourinho and Klopp telling players that a little pain is fine. Shaw injured his groin and Smalling broke his toe in two places yet Jose lambasted them in the press for not giving their all. These pressures and the exertions from the game can wreck your body if you're not naturally built of granite.
In other countries, the younger players player fewer games, at lower intensity, and benefit from mid season breaks, so they stay fitter for longer and can develop the other sides of their game. IT IS MORE INTENSE WE KNOW THIS. At least all of us apart from Dayo lol. But this intensity is being used as an excuse to gloss over the fact that Andros Townsend today is still as moronic in his runs as he was at age 18. Forget the injuries for a minute many of these guys are the walking definition of unintelligent. The mindset of the coaches even at youth level helps to foster this over athletic/ non tactical/ unintelligent kind of footballer. Even when they are fit they are poor tactically and in terms of decision making. |
