Rashford though a Mancunian has a right to look after his own future. When your manager who is renowned for neglecting young players keeps playing a geriatric striker 90mins of every game while he confines you to the bench or plays you in a multitude of midfield and wing roles thereby slowly eroding your confidence and blunting your striker's instincts what do you do? Then you observe the "punishment" being meted out to other young colleagues like Shaw, Martial and you start wondering if you won't develop better elsewhere.

The truth is if the rumors of another CF coming to join Zlatan next season are true then Rashford has every right to be reluctant to sign a contract extension. He was placed on this earth to fulfill his own dreams not pander to the wishes of a certain manager.
There is nothing to show that the lad is not applying himself. Out of all our forwards i rate him highest in terms of his aggression, work rate, closing down opposition defenders e.t.c
This is just the usual posturing before contract talks, he has not been caught drinking or granny shagging like Rooney, or smoking like Wilshere so i think you are over reacting a bit here.

Who cares? He is going nowhere except on loan maybe! This is some agent or media bullshit at work but at the end of the day rashford has not done anything in his career to grant him restless status! Let him go and watch Gabriel Jesus a bit abeg....

The jury is still out on all these teenage "stars". Rashford could turn out to be the next Rooney or the next Fran Jeffers, we don't know which yet. And Gab Jesus might be the next Neymar or the next Ganso we don't know which also.
Gab Jesus is Brazilian and Marcus is English so the benefit of the doubt would be given to Gab but i don't see what he has done IN THE LEAGUE right now that Rashford didn't do better last season under more difficult circumstances.

You can't compare the power and influence managers like SAF and Wenger have in their clubs compared to almost any other manager. Fergie and Wenger because of their longevity and power of incumbency have powers and influence beyond the average manager.
Also i can't state for certain that SAF wouldn't have allowed it (after all SAF signed Bebe for 7m pounds AND THAT DEAL IS WORSE IMO), all i know is an ordinary manager does not get involved in such contractual clauses....You can't blame LVG for this one.

Let us not give a dog a bad name in order to hang him. Wetin concern Van Gaal with the contractual clauses in an agreement between the 2 clubs?
The money men deal with such things, Van Gaal's responsibility was to OK a player transfer or to go to the board with a list of players he wants IN or OUT of the club.

Ok, now I understand. But in my opinion we are settled with Martial on the left. The problem is the right if we are to play Mkhitaryan or Mata as proper number 10. I prefer Mkhitaryan. We need a right wing player who can attack straight like Martial does on the left. Not one drafting in always.

I believe JM has settled on Mikki as the 10 and Juan Mata as RWF for this season, however he is not sold on Martial holding down that LWF position yet. Going forward though he might want a replacement for Mata on that right flank. This is the only scenario that explains sensibly the rumors about Griezmann. Griezmann as RWF might be able to give us Mata's goals and movement AND very importantly be a significant upgrade in 1v1 situations against the full back.

I dont believe the back Partnership between Smalling and Bailly is stronger than that of Jones and Rojo. We just played two weak teams. Leicester is battling delegation while Watford is trying to climb up from down down.

On the other hand we have seen Jones and Rojo held their own against Arsenal, Liverpool, Tottenham and many top teams. They did not give Spurs a single chance while Arsenal only eqaulized from Rashford's error.

We have to wait and see how that back settles after next set of big fixtures

I say the CB is settled because it doesn't really matter who we field at CB, we usually get good to excellent performances. I might still rate Rojo the worst (because of his 2 footed lunges and his occasional potential red card attracting tackles) but even he has been quite good. In other words it does not really matter the combination we usually get a settled performance. The only combo i would be hesitant to promote is Rojo and Bailly because they are both rash, however even if i see that combo i wouldn't be unduly worried.
Right back is setlled with Anthony Valencia and there are other players who can give a decent performance in that position.

The 2 positions where we have the greatest uncertainty are 1) LB where Shaw can't stay fit, Blind is too slow and too weak, Rojo is an attacking liability and Darmian is a 2 way liability AND 2) LW where Mourinho refuses to trust Martial on a regular basis and Lingard, Rashford are not really up to his quality in that position.
Mourinho's 1st choice at CF, RWF, CAM, 2CMs, GK are all obvious. It took him close to a season but he appears to be getting there.

Great performance from the team and a much needed victory. The only negative was the regular evidence of Blind's inability to play LB against any body with pace and/or power....we need a fit LB urgently.
JM should also start giving Zlatan a few minutes off at the end of games, even if it's 5 or 10 minutes. This will make him fresher toward the end of the season and also allow us have Rashford play a few minutes at CF preferably with Mikki beneath and Martial out wide.
It seems JM has finally decided on his formation I.e 4-2-3-1 and the team is settled apart from LB and LWF.

The place is ruled by a didinrin junta and their debates are usually bereft of logic. Mikel is not and has never been a world class player, he had the potential but never actualized it. Anybody who says otherwise is just being emotional.

It is difficult to say and you have to remember greatest and best are not exactly the same. In therms of pure overall quality of play, dominance and how much better than their rivals they were the legends that are usually rated at the top of most lists are Jim Brown, Jerry Rice and Lawrence Taylor......and i would still rate them ahead of the Golden Boy

Julio has taken over from Megatron in terms of size, power and pure uncoverability. AB is a relatively small and quick dude. If you double team him and your guys stick to their assignments then he is covered. Julio on the other hand just like Megatron is not really covered even when he appears covered by double teams

Wow So Brady did it. I went to bed at the end of 3rd quarter only to wake up and see this.
With that 4th quarter comeback and the 5th ring I have to concede that Brady has probably eliminated most debate as to who the GOAT is.

Bellicheck made Brady not the other way round. Bill could have done the same with 2 or 3 other QBs of this era, Brady couldn't have achieved the same with any other modern day coach.

The squad is deep but I agree the quality can be improved upon.
However the main problem is Mourinho's mismanagement of the resources at his disposal.
Continuously playing Zlatan,Pogba and Fellaini despite dips in form, excessively punishing Martial and Mikki for any little dip in form, at the start of the season sending both Carrick and Shweini to the fringes of the squad ( he didn't lose the loyalty of those 2 just because of their maturity).
I for one would like to see Martial, Mikki and Rashford have a go in the front 3 for a couple of weeks.
What Mourinho does not know is that the lack of a regular front 3 has a negative impact on consistency and quality of game.

Baily has almost everything that Smallling has, pace (maybe a little less), height, strength and is more athletic and aggressive and more importantly, doesn't play like he's scared of his shadow when on the ball.

The preference is still jones Rojo centrally, but if Rojo is to be moved to LB, Baily and has to be the one to step in

Bailly has more pace than Smalling. What Smalling has as an advantage is his height which he has started using in a more effective manner. However in terms of pace, passing and quality on the ball Bailly is his master. Smalling is our worst defender in terms of passing and quality on the ball, i remember when i said this some were protesting.

Nah i still support the manager. Will have a more detailed assessment at the end of the season. The least expected of him is Champion's League football next season, either through top 4 (preferably) or through the Europa League. I am not impressed by moi moi trophies like EFL Cup

Martial needs to play "magnificently" if not he will be benched? But somehow Pogba and Zlatan keep playing 90minutes in league, Europa and even moi moi competitions like EFL Cup no matter how poorly they are playing. Let's be sincere and admit that JM is not being fair to some players in the squad while he pampers some others.
The guy seeks confrontation and controversy in most situations and that is why Bobby Charlton blocked his employment the first time around. His reluctance or inability to integrate Mikki, Martial and Rashford properly into the first team is the main reason we are on the outside looking in with regards to the top 4.
No matter how tired Zlatan looks or how poorly Pogba plays they keep getting 90 minute games but if Martial or Mikki plays poorly for 15 minutes in a match they are benched for game after game.
