You mean Dante of "Germany 7: Brazil 1" fame. Of him we know, the dude is on Interpol's "Most Wanted" list for being missing in defense.
Unless Porto can make it 4-1 though i still see Bayern going through

I don't agree Benteke is 3rd tier, even tho he may not be Man United's level. he'll be someone not gored sitting on the bench here as well as confident enough to fight for his spot & talented enough to grab his chances + he'll not arrive @ an exorbitant fees.

besides there are no top level CFs in the market & we have to keep an eye on our talented academy graduates which is a tradition @ OT & synonymous with LvG's methods. it can't just be buy buy buy like the sugardaddy gluttons!

Clyne is a player I believe will struggle in a bigger pond...
Benteke is decent at that midtable level but thats it for now. We dont need a squad player in attack but someone with the pace and potential to free us from the Rooney/RVP hegemony

how many wingers are we going to need for one season? undecided
4.
We will be in several competitions including the champs league so 4 players to fight for 2 spots is not bad.
bale, nani, young and depay or something like that.....abi e bad?

i still think rafael deserves a chance.
although, valencia has been very good defensively but he offers f@ck-all offensively. if we had a RB that could cross last night, city for concede 10.

at the same time, i am very convinced rafael woulda done something silly if he had played last night. he woulda probably kicked the lumps out of aguero instead of ushering him out like valencia did perfectly last night.

rafael
80% attack, 60% defence, red/yellow card

valencia
70% attack, 80% defence, no risk of card

valencia is the safer option by a country mile

what of gareth bale?

see you next season. grin

liverpool were shyte grin
besides, di maria came on and provided the assist for what turned out to be the winner.
I mentioned bale.
bring back nani, buy depay, buy bale offload di maria to PSG.

hummels would bring a wealth of experience to reset the brains of jones, mcnair & blackett. this is why we need a world class defender - a leader of men at the back.

even the great de gea couldn't save us from some embarrassing defeats last season. football is a team game - if there's no protection for the defence, even the world best defenders would get torn apart.

we need a new RB, CB, CM & CF

RB= clyne
CB= Hummels or Thiago Silva

CM= Gundogan or Vidal

CF= Cavani or Lacazette or Chicharito

We are surely getting an AM/WF= Depay or Reus or Bale

that is what happens when the team isn't playing well. we had a taste of that last season when even some of our fans here wanted everyone out of the club completely.

minus blind & herrera, the 9 other players featured against city last season and we were tonked home & away by an aggregate of 7-1. hummels is a bloody good defender. we would be silly not to have him if he wants to come to us.
fair enough. i have always been a fan of hummels and know he has class. however if his body is failing him it might be advisable to look elsewhere.
dortmund's team defence can be shambolic no doubt but looking at hummels individually it appears to me that he has lost a yard or two of pace. its too bad that there are few quality central defenders at the moment in football, he just might be the best available with all i have said

lacazette - CF
arturo vidal - CM
mats hummels - CB

keep de gea at all costs & if he insists on leaving, take a player from real madrid as part-exchange. varane, kroos or bale would be fine.

replace de gea with cech or begovic.
Have you watch Dortmund's most recent matches. Hummels is presently having a "Kompany" season IMO.
No pace, mistimed tackles and generally found somewhere in midfield most times Dortmund concedes.
LVG should do his due diligence before signing players o

what about kaka?
best in the world for 3 months and disappeared shortly after - this is why messi & ronaldo have to be worshipped.

they have been the top two in the last 7 years. no other player has been able to break their duopoly. this is why i think they are infinitely greater than any of their predecessors.
Lol Kaka went of the map too,but he had a catalog of niggling injury problems and his body basically broke down.

Ronaldo and Messi are the first to play at such high levels for such an extended period in modern times.
u can compare only with pele, di stefano, eusebio, cryuff, beckenbauer e.t.c

I don't think Dinho should be on this list not many get to where he has been.
In this context,Yeah Torres case is truly strange.
dinho was best player in the world for 2 years and within a few years of that he was a bit part player.
his drop in form too was dramatic, but the reasons for his loss of form are well documented

Adriano ?
Adriano= balloned in weight, had some alcohol issues, lack of discipline

Ronaldinho= alcohol issues, poor discipline etc

Mario Jardel= injury, drugs and alcohol, marital discord

I kept waiting for the reason to be revealed ( for Torres drop)..... did he catch John Terry boinking his wife? Did he have HIV or Ebola?
Did he have eye problems like Scholes? His case is the most inexplicable i have seen

In terms of performances, Lacazette should settle well into EPL. Afterall Remy did well in QPR & Newcastle. B4 Mourinho decided to buy him and bench the poor boys destiny. Giroud also did well but took a lil bit for him to adjust. Drogba is also a good example
Ok

AdeLaNa1:
Dont ever use Lacazette and Giroud in the same paragraph angry undecided grin He is light years better than Giroud. He is just making his waves which is why he hasn't pushed his way into the French national team yet. I've watched his games and re-watched the highlights. Being the highest goal scorer(24) in a league that boasts of Ibra, Cavani etc. is no hype. And i think he was injured at some point this season too.
I am not saying he is the same as Giroud cos from a pure talent point of view obviously Lacazette has the edge. However in the last 10yrs andre pierre gignac, moussa sow, mamadou niang and nene have been top scorers in that league. One has to be careful when assessing performances in certain leagues.....that is all i am saying

Lolxzzzz..... Sad, but I can't believe that this is the same Falcao I stayed up all 'Transfer Deadline' night just to see that the deal is really completed. <sadgrin
Many people under estimate the severity of ACL injury. It is 50/50 depending on the extent of the initial injury, the skill of the surgeon and the quality of the rehab period. Some players recover but many are never the same esp people like Uncle Falcao of 29/31yrs of age

lacazette has everything it takes to thrive in the premier league. he's built for it. i actually do think he's more suited for the game here than in france.

pace, power, acceleration, dead-eye accuracy, composure, decision making, etc. i have seen him about 12 times this season & he didn't disappoint me in any of those games. i would sell all our strikers to have him.
ALL? lol
if we sell falcao and RVP and get lacazette/cavani and wilson it won't be a step back.
at this moment an inexperienced james wilson is better than falcao........sad but true.
and a cavani/lacazette/jackson martinez/dybala would be better than RVP
