CultureRe: Why Aren't There Any Successful Black Nations In The World? by agaba123(m): 4:01pm On Oct 31, 2008
The white man hired slaves who went around the plantations to impregant the women. That led to many black Americans growing up without a father figure.

I think that is still hunting them till date. A guy raised without a father will not know what it means to be a good father.

Well what about other black nations?

That is exactly why I asked for the source of the stat. and also for the UK stat.

You cannot compare number for number. fair comparison will only be possible if we use statistic parameters. % based on pop. being a good one undecided

una go peme for darfur or afghanistan. nigerians and their bravado.  every environment has it's own challenges

nigerians usually preach high moral standards but don't practice it. this is a country that has about 700,000 abortions annually, high rate of infidelity and std, high corruption and crime rate. so why are we claiming to be morally superior to liberal western nations?/
Wow that's interesting. Where did you get your stat from? Just inetersted not doubting you.

However that is 1.04% of the population of women based on the census figure. Not that this is acceptable.
That may not be the same if you translate the number of abortions in the western countries.

Could you please furnish us with the number of abortions and the female pop in the UK or US? undecided undecided

a real story
There was this boy wanted to apply his school teaching on his father.
he was told that if your father smacked you, call the police.

One day the dad smacked him and he went outside and called the police. The father was arrested and so on.

When the case died down, it was time to go to lagos for Xmas. The father said his other siblings will be going to see granny with mentioning him.
The guy was like, what about me. The said OK he would go. The plan was to arouse his interest on going home.

After holiday, he was left behind in naija where he was enrolled in one local school.

The boy was coming home everyday complaining to the uncle and how he wished to go back. But Unki told him noo, you will call the police for your father and stuff like that.
The bobo begin beg. Finally he was allowed to come back to UK.

You know what? he is the best behaved of the man's children. Na yoruba family I de yan about.

So it depends on the parents but the environment is great factor

It's not exactly like what u are expecting. . .

Anyway, I walked into one of them banks to open an account for my company. One of the account officers/marketer attended to me.

To cut the long story short, he claimed us as one of d customers he brought in, so, we needed to go through him for our transactions. The guy is so incompetent. He is hardly around, he doesn't call and he very cunny. So, we threathen to shut down the account. I guess his colleagues told him to try and appease us. He now decided to use me as the bait. undecided

The annoying part is that, anytym i meet with to rake for him concerning his incompetency, he turns around to admire my beauty and all. He tried all manner of stunts, using sweets words, trying to seduce me till i called his bluff.

I told him i wont hesitate to report him to the top management then he left me alone.

Banks use our girls for prostitution — NYSC

Mansur Oladunjoye

The National Youth Service Corps [NYSC] has lamented the way banks in Nigeria use corps members posted to them for prostitution to woo customers.

He said banks caught in this web are always rejecting any male corps member posted to them for the compulsory one year service, irrespective of the academic brilliance of such members.

Speaking yesterday at the meeting the press forum organized by the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Lagos State council, the coordinator of the scheme, Anthony Ani, said his office had picked unending disagreement with some notable banks because of the way female corps members are being abused.

He said the concerned Banks often compel the corps members sent to them to undergo another test before being considered for acceptance, but would ensure that only females are given acceptance letter.

He said: "Banks are using our female corps members as prostitutes to get clients. We noticed that it is only our females that often have their needed ‘statistics’ no matter how good the males are."

Recalling his experiences with the banks, he said: "When I just came to Lagos State, the identified banks were rejecting our male corps members but secretly issuing acceptance letters to our females, I stopped the practice by refusing to post any corps members to banks."

He, however, the secretariat had reconciled with the banks after it was obvious that they had shown remorse, "They have come to me for reconciliation because obviously my action had eaten deep into them."

Ani condemned the attitude of some parents who always lobby and influence the posting of their wards to choice companies, saying such attitudes run in sharp contrast to the aims and objectives of the founding fathers of the scheme which was to make every Nigerian youth available and acquaint himself with other environments other than his immediate society.

He said though the scheme had achieved a lot within the last 35 years of its existence n, "There is still room for improvement because all we are talking about is developmental which is not static," he said.

He defended the high population of corps members in Lagos State, saying it was influenced by the high absorptive capacity of the state characterized by the large number of companies including the concession often given to married memberes and those with disabilities.

Two humiliations this season. Only revenge will be sweet. 3-0 at hull, 5-0 at white heart lane.

@ jjyou, if a man owns his house and he is either violent or abusive, the court can put a restraining order on him till his partner/wife is comfortable with him in the house. an englishman's house is his castle is an old fable that does not apply in the land these days. laws can be manipulated to suit whoever. do u know how many men languishing in the prison system because of their wives? women teach the children to lie against their fathers to put him in more trouble. i am not saying this is right or acceptable but i am telling you these things happen. stop thinking these things happen only in council flat areas. it is widespread and cuts across every class in the society. there are greedy and evil men/women everywhere.
This is the more reason why we have more cohabitation that marriage these days. I asked a friend of mine a british if he was gonna get married to his girlfriend? If he was Igbo he would have said, 'tufiakwa'

He was like 'if she bears my children, does my laundry and spends my money, what else do I want. I am not ready for someone who is going to throw me out of my house and take 85% of my wealth in the name of divorce'.

After rweading of a divorce case which was purely unjust, a nother friend told me, 'to hell with marriage for now. If I make it till 80, i will consider if she is still there'

what's "good" about this news?

We have simply shown the world that:

1. We have no planning - how can we be haggling over funding less than a yr to hosting a tournament? Did FIFA just inform us about hosting last month?
2. We are too corrupt - so we could host a tournament for $76m and we quoted $314m? shocked
And the president 'does not support that'

Good leadership undecided

How did they come about this promiscous thingy? What experiment was carried out for them to arrive at such  conclusion? undecided Is it just an African idealogy or a general belief? undecided
You know some clit can be quite prominent like a small manliness. So it is possible they in the olden days saw babies with big clitoris and they removed it as abomination and later found out that those without were 'less interested in sex'

Or that they thought it is represents women's manliness and men were not ready to accept that rivalry from women and they decided to get them chopped off.
They would have believed that having a manliness makes one randy as men are. So removing the manliness in women who proabaly are not supposed to enjoy sex or be randy would make them keep away from sex.

So, in an attempt to scrap off the foreskin the clitoris is removed at times, that's when it becomes genital mutilation?
That is the expalantion the proponents of FGM will use to defend their belief.

In man, circumcision is the removal os the foreskin to eexpose the prepuce. But in women it is shear madness. It is wickedness.
Marrying a circumcised babe is life imprisonment with hard labour
