egift: Show us where the Girls are and we will rescue them. Buhari is yet to assume office, go through security reports, know who and who Jonathan had Ceasefire agreements with, see details of those already interrogated, evaluate the nature of information at hand, etc. Yet you want him to pinpoint the day he will rescue the girls. Either you are plain dumb or simply mischievous.
When takes over, he will review what is at hand and take it up from there. One thing is certain, Boko Haram will not be running rampant and doing their Youtube in a caliphate in Nigeria.
They will be dealt with. Add Kidnapper, Armed Robber, Militants, stealing from government, etc to Boko Harams - then we are good to go.
NeverAgain! lol |

It is only a fool that would expect Buhari to promise bringing back the girls more than a full year after their kidnap. Lets be rational with our thinking please! lol, why did you guys chant bring back our girls till 28 March? Are you saying that it has just become impossible to rescue them just 2 weeks after? |

Important thing is that he didn't say that terrorism is "everywhere in the world" and that we should "live with it". He has promised that from day one under his watch, BH will be tamed. that's more than enough. You didn't think of that when you were shouting BOG until 28th March. You just realised? FastShipping: Buhari is a very sincere man. I like the way he is lowering expectation on every opportunity he gets. It is a good strategy by him to lower expectation on pressing issues. No he is an insincere man because he promised miracles. You hyped him to heavens and raised expectations. Now he that he is there you are seeing his lowering of expectations as sincerity instead of fraudulent? I'm watching all of you. I'm sure some of you are already ashamed. He will continue watering down your expectations until you are ashamed of defending him. |

He had no control of the election. He had just 10 months to prepare. In this case he had 4 years. You can judge him here. Judge the 150 laptops from Northern Elders Judge the 22 k polling unit in the north and 8k for the south Judge the lopsided PVC distribution Judge the card reader malfunction that happened on the SS/SE Judge his reasons for not allowing the use alternative on time in these areas Judge why there was no complaint about card reader and accreditation in the North Judge why North East had more PVC collection than the South put together Judge many more things |

Mynd44: Did they really push the Nigerian army back or was the Nigerian army not willing for an all out war against their own?
Whatever the answer was, to be free, you have to win. Winning was not possible, sacrificing people to slow down defeat was pointless and silly They were not willing for all out war against their own but they ordered the massacre of everything that was moving in Asaba, boasted about killing their men, raping their women and killing them and their children? They were not willing for an all out war against their own but they blocked food aid and they boasted that starvation was a weapon of warfare knowing that children and women would be mostly affected. Do not use that their own in the same sentence because if they saw saw Igbos as their own, the progrom of the Igbos living in the North and other parts of Nigeria would not have happened before the war was declared Don't delve into this.... |

jpphilips: I am interested in that part in bold, who is oppressing you? Ibos have not been so favored in project Nigeria but that does not in any way mean oppression, everyone who seems to be favored have one time or the other worked for project Nigeria including the Igbos.
Let me take you to the 90's so we wouldn't degenerate to viewing ourselves as ancient of days, when the Military seized absolute power, who fought for the Democratic Nigeria we are enjoying today?
please correct me if I am wrong because my history may sound rusty, they were mostly southwesterners, immediately after they wrestled power from Abacha, Ekwueme joined the movement for the formation of PDP, and still expected to be handed the presidential ticket, just like that? Meanwhile, the Northerners adopted OBJ as a compensation for the June 12/pro democracy struggle, Alex Ekwueme ran home to cry wolf how oppressed Igbos were, forgetting that Nnamdi Azikiwe a PAN African got the presidency immediately after the struggle for independence.
Look at APC members in the SouthEast, though I am not a fan of Ngige, but when you hear Igbos who hate him, their reasons are so petty, "he joined a yoruba party" and they have consistently ensured he lost in all his recent elections.
Rochas Okorocha is suffering the same thing in Imo state, the Igbos are drunk in pettiness and bigotry nothing more, I don't see any marginalization any where, why did Igbos not work for APC to brighten their chances?
Victor Umeh's APGA held APGA so dear even when it no longer produces presidential aspirants, what kinda political calculation is that? Today, they expect APC to be doling out positions to them after the political suicide they committed with a drowning man, whose fate has already been decided by the blood bath in the north.
Look at the Yorubas, even when they are at the fore front of APC, there were still factions working for PDP, either way it goes, it could have been a win win situation for the region.
Look at the SS jonathan they were willing to die for, even when the APC alliance was waxing stronger and tougher, treated like slaves by the so called PDP, yet they stuck with Jonathan. Read here; https://www.nairaland.com/2166883/president-jonathan-south-east-orchestra
and tell me why any sane Igbo man will ever support Jonathan.
I think it is time for Tinubu to make it clear that Igbos should re elect Okorocha and perhaps another SE APC Governor if they want to be taken seriously by the present APC government.
Bro kulu temper 1. You said "Ígbos have not been favoured in federal projects" and you said again down in your argument "I don't see any maginalisation anywhere" This is the definition of maginalisation "The process whereby something or someone is pushed to the edge of a group and accorded lesser importance. This is predominantly a social phenomenon by which a minority or sub-group is excluded, and their needs or desires ignored". Could this be in line with principle of giving only GBP 20 to all Igbos not minding how much they had as bank balance? 2. You want the SEasterners to shift with power? That is not politics. Politics is about ideology and principles. It is not harlotry. I supported GEJ and I will still support him against Buhari any day because I know what he has done not because he is Igbo or from the SS. He stands for the economic liberation all Nigerians need. i. GEJ failed because the US and the UK wanted him out, ii. the north wanted power back such that even PDP governors in the North compromised. They either did nothing or rigged for Buhari in the North iii. Jega was mandated to deliver Buhari by the North and the US. So he did what he had to do to disenfranchise GEJ's favoured area. He refused to authorise the use of mannual voting till late while my friend in the North told me they had no problem. They used manual accreditation from the start. I really do not want to go into this bro. |

Fine there was an history or war our generation should not be held accountable for the loggerheads of fore fathers, plus no yoruba abuses an igbo man if the igbo hasn't been disrespectful. ... do you know how many times I have replied igbos rudely cos of how they talk online? but my girlfriend is igbo..... Igbos need to respect others to be respected and stop playing the victim all the time We are talking about different things. The Igbos insult the Yorubas as much as the Yorubas insult Igbos. The insults derive from rivalry and perception of supremacy among the groups. It has little or nothing to do with what I addressed based on the post I quoted sir. Neighbouring communities have this kind of rivalry. This rivalry existed even before the war, when the old Eastern and Western regions were trying to outdo each other in terms of development. That is what the confab report is meant to restore because it would have reignited this positive rivalry and the masses would have enjoyed it better. I hope that with the North in power, the report will see the light of the day because.... |

modath: I believe the Igbos are 98% christians and should live according to biblical dictates. I don't know much but I know the bible preaches:
1.Love
2.Forgiveness
No matter how hurt they are by the ravages of the civil war, harbouring grudges and feeings of resentment will only do them more harm than good, you can't hope to pick anything if your fists are tightly locked up. Find out what US did so many years after Hiroshima. But you talk about forgiveness if an act has stopped. £20 of all they had in the bank and there is unwritten law to make sure they do not progress. These guys fly in and out of the country but it took an Igbo aviation minister under SS president to have one international airport in the SE. She was attacked in the social media for that and idea was ridiculed. How do you talk about forgiveness when the rest of the country still see you as a rebel and sore thumb? The people inflicted this wound are around and brag with it. Check OBJ statement in Bayelsa recently. Even your president elect. Etc I don't think about this because to me it means nothing but people should not talk as if the oppressors have stopped |

I think it has to do with one or more of the following reasons 1. The Igbos are naturally very competitive and non-Igbos feel they can't survive the fierce competition among Igbos in their land. This is also the reason why you hardly see other people venturing into any trade the Igbos are populated in...computer village, ladipo etc 2. While Igbos will apply and get admission to Universities in other locations on merit, people from other location either do not attempt to apply or do not make the cut in Universities in Igbo land. This is due to their competitiveness too. 3. Igbo land has been neglected federal wise but you cannot look down on them considering that all the towns are less than 40 years old and locally developed 4. A bit of intimidation could be a reason. Remember the complaints that the Igbos were everywhere before the war, heading every department in the civil service by merit which drew the ire of other ethnic groups. This was one of the major reasons for the war. Facts 5. Igbos are very accommodating because they prefer strangers to their brothers. They prefer to communicate with stranger in the strangers language than their own 6. Igbos will prefer to speak English even to their brothers let alone when a non-igbo is there. No other ethnic group do this in Nigeria
Finally, we are all Nigerians irrespective of tribal differences. Let's live together. |
