i have not checked the data you wrote about those missiles, i will do that later after i close from work, buy just to tell you that missiles too have versions and upgrades. then in close combat, range will not matter. penetration rate is not a big issue, when missile hit you man, it blows up your armour, and death follows while the hit vehicle becomes disabled and out of action. even an ordinary anti-tank land mine will disable a main battle tank.

mali issue has politics involved. mali issue has ecowas and united nations protocol bureaucracy delays.

mali issue has france involved and france takes mali as extension of its territory.

france always suspects nigeria because nigeria is anglophone and more powerful than the francophone countries .

international diplomacy demands that nigeria should respect france which has its military forces stationed in mali long long ago before nigeria deployed. no country, not even USA will move military force without permission, into a conflict zone when another super power country has stationed its military there ahead of time, otherwise you can have military confrontation with a friendly nation. france is a friend to nigeria, we recently bought new and latest weapons from france for our navy and army, and france has oil companies doing big business in nigeria, so we have to show friendship and respect. nigeria needed permission to deploy in mali because the france deployed there before us.

france declared yesterday that they will not stay and fight in mali for too long. that is why they agreed that ecowas should deploy forces led by nigeria this new year january. simple french tactics, they want to withdraw from the fight when the islamist fighters change to more dangerous hide and seek guerrilla tactics later on , after heavy french armour and aircraft has pushed the rebels into hiding and made them angry which leads to guerrilla warefare that is very hard to win, yesterday on BBC news, france says they want to withdraw from mali sooner or later, and nigerian forces must lead ecowas into a potentially deadly mali religion faith guerrilla war that causes to many infantry casualties which the french are avoiding because a white man is never a fool, they want blacks to do hand to hand combat with blacks and we kill each other. they know how many casuslties the army of Russia suffered from Afghanistan islamic guerrilla fighters called mujaheedin.

wrong info andrewza, Dakota range is far less thn you quote, not 4,800km, its approx 2,000km or else it will drop dead from the sky if you try that game. you forgot that ATR-42 carries extra more load of 5,000kg superior to your Dakota.

another big mistake you made andrewza is that nigerian airforce has more than 2 maritime patrol aircraft, we have 8, go and google it. 2 of ATR-42 and 6 of G-222 aircraft, i post photo of nigerian G-222 aircraft below.

nigerian G-222 has range 4,000km far superior to south african dakota 2,000km. also our G-222 has max take off weight of 28,000kg far superior to you Dakota's 13,000kg. my friend, nigerian military has several points where it is superior to south african military. try swallow it, it's the truth, be honest.

In a war situation those nigerian patrol aircraft would still have to detect our warships and try to evade one of the worlds top Three anti-aircraft SAM's and anti ship systems in use anywhere in the world today which we produce. Our SAM's is on par with anything the USN has currently including its electronic suit.

the hawk is the MK120 based of the MK127 (the numbring is confusing yes i know) it can fire A dater 5gen misseils and has been heavly modfied. Only 10% of it is the same has the first hawk they newly build not some old air frame

the lynx is of the Super lynx 300 version and has nothing close to the first one. they all so newly build

the dakot are old air frames but the egnins and avionis are all new. They are the next fixed wing air craft to get replaced and all ready have a project(for got the name) but with these poor global econmic times not seen has urgent. Though i disagree they should have replaced long ago.

badger vehicle is NOT on afficial south african army website and wikipedia also says it is not in service with you, not listed as an active service south african weapon so we cannot count what we cannot confirm on public information that the whole world can read, very simple. do you win court case without evidence that the judge can see ? you can confirm on internet wikipedia all the nigerian army force of almost 300 cobras and VBL, very simple to find.

nigerian army cobra and VBL force is not generally used as nigeria's main APC force but rather as an IFV force. there is a difference between APC and IFV. nigerian army APC force is another separate powerful and large force of almost 600 armoured vehicles including made in nigeria Steyr 4K7FA-G127, MT-LB series, BTR-U series, MOWAG Piranha, and etc. see photo of MOWAG Piranha below.

APC is armoured personnel carrier, main use is to transport soldiers, nigerian army has about 600 APCs
IFV is infantry fighting vehicle, main use is for fire-power to destroy enemy weapons, nigerian army has about 300 IFVs

i have checked south african army official website link http://www.army.mil.za/equipment/weaponsystems/armour/index.htm no record of badger vehicle in service with your army, so how do you use weapons you dont have ? also as i said 300 nigerian army AFV with radar guided missiles plus long distance 'stand off' target tracking and locking electronic systems will wipe out 1,200 to 1,800 south african IFV armed with turret guns, engaging 4 to 6 missiles launched from each nigerian AFV. its very simple mathematics.

i have googled south africa badger on weblink http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cougar_%28vehicle%29 and no fact about its being 100% amphibious, i think the weight of heavy thick armour on it to protect from land mines will make it sink in deep rivers when its tyres no longer touch the river bed. nigerian cobra and VBL float over deep rivers not touching the river bed with tryes to support. the badger will sink in deep waters while engaging a cobra that floats like a real boat on rivers, that is the meaning of 100% amphibious ability. and you see the cobra VBL front body shape like a real boat, but badger shape is like a land-rover. also the badger armour cannot withstand anti-tank missiles from the cobras, it will tear the bagder amour to pieces because it is a tank-killer by nature.

the south african armoured vehiles you posted here are much older in age, older technology, slower in speed, and lack 100% amphibious deep river swim and float ability, compared to nigerian Cobra and VBL force that has everything, you cannot defeat nigerian missile firing european AFV with those. i have researched the whole south african army official website and you dont have any new technology AFV that can match nigeian army, we will blow up all your armour from a far away distance and you wont even see us or know how we hit you with our superior weapons of most modern european technology.

and some of the vehicles you post here are low-calibre gun AFV, more or less they are soldiers transport APC, and one looking like some land-rover 4x4 suv, maybe its the south african manufactured RG-31 MRAP that failed in afghanistan and with ordinary home made explosive it was blown into pieces and 7 canadian soldiers died. you cannot challenge nigerian army AFV with south african army APC, your APC will be destroyed totally by seperior fire-power from the nigerian army Cobras. i dont mean to offend but i want us to be honest here and not tell lies, the facts and truth is freely available to confirm on internet.
