FACT: Tanzo firings found it to be accurate only out to 25km.

Can it reach 120km. Possibly. If one didn't care about accuracy .

Brother, you now agree with Augustine that at extremely long ranges, artillery loses accuracy by wide misses off target. It's good we haven't shöt Augustine for telling the truth. Happy weekend bros wink

grin grin grin grin........ Very hilarious times, I remember @TIM was claiming it was a radar, despite overwhelming contrary opinion... "Omo stuck to his guns oh". Peccavi kept on and on telling him it was a hoist, but he wouldn't bulge.

I remember i had a laugh filled day, that day.

Who knows, he probably was actually seeing a Radar, while we were seeing a hoist.

The pic here clearly shows the helicopter door open and a seaman/airman with white gloves pulling a rope out of the hardware, if TIM saw a different pic he could get misled, but this one here, you cannot be pulling rope out of radar now grin

It's not a hardware upgrade sir. Apparently a hoist attachment to help the aircraft in the SAR role NN is known to operate it in. It was discussed on Beegs blog a few years ago if I remember well wink grin

Thanks bros, reason why I used quotation marks... 'hardware' upgrade. Was not sure if its new.

Never seen one on any Nigerian AW 109 pic. I see it on Swedish and American AW 109, I guessed they just upgraded the hardware for enhanced SAR. Pic shows naval man with gloves holding the line, its actually a 50 metre x 200 kg WINCH, pulls men/load out of sea or lets men/load down to sea. Thinking they adjusted the NN 08 serial number E power hardware, because the under fuselage inflatable water floats are now removed from that particular chopper. Compare the very same helicopter with serial number NN 08 below...

Big lie, all my three sources are UN peacekeeping official websites showing year 2015 updated data on deployments. You will live and end life as a shameless liar. Nigeria never deployed combat force in Congo DRC in the first place. You serial liar.

Nigeria pulled major combat formations out of all those nations.

Simple facts

You tell lies not facts.

Dafur-Sudan, Nigerian army is still there today, current number variations are unknown, some MT-LB APCs pulled out to fight Boko Haram, justified by shortage of equipment at home in a full scale war 1,000 times bigger than what was happening in Dafur.

Today Nigerian army and police are both, not one, both in Dafur Sudan, deployed under UNAMID to do the hard job others are running away from.

http://www.un.org/en/peacekeeping/missions/unamid/facts.shtml

Mali war ended, Nigeria received appreciation award from new democratic president of Mali that we and our allies installed by free/fair elections. Chad and France too have withdrawn many of their troops to reduce numbers in Mali.

http://www.aljazeera.com/news/africa/2013/04/201349235234509911.html

Today, both Nigerian army plus Nigerian police are fully deployed in Mali as part of the new UN peace/stabilization force MINUSMA, stop telling lies against Nigeria.

http://www.un.org/en/peacekeeping/missions/minusma/facts.shtml

Also, Nigerian policemen and military experts/advisory team remains deployed in Congo DRC today.

http://www.un.org/en/peacekeeping/missions/monusco/facts.shtml

Nigeria never deployed army combat fighting units to Congo DRC, so which combat formation did we pull out since we deployed only civilian policemen and military advisers/experts team who do not engage in combat? You tell lies a lot.

When you tell lies about Nigeria, your South African friends don't ask Henry to call you out. They keep quiet while you tell lies at random and they love it when it's Nigeria you are lying against

I abhor personalising issues here: as a white guy, I will tell you we're a minority in all arms of service in the SANDF, with the possible exception of the Military Health Service, and that is also changing. I know you read SA defence news and you know our Def minister has been worried about white recruits dropping below white population ratios.

You answered the perimeter of my sincere question, no worries if you don't answer the nucleus of it. The anger and multiple complaints demanding that Augustine be 'executed by firing squad' profited no one. Your answer to the curious question is profit for everyone.

There are many reasons for withdrawing

We have more important things to do with our men.

Yea, like deploying your men inside Nigeria, is more important to you.

The news made all South Africans happy until it was proved false. None of you guys complained about needing your troops elsewhere when it was time to deploy SANDF in Nigeria, you were all very happy to deploy them where the job is now very easy after hundreds of Nigerian troops have died fighting to crush Boko Haram this far.

Yes every South African is happy to abandon Darfur Sudan where the suffering Dafurians have no army, but same South Africans are rejoicing at the news of deploying their special forces to Nigeria that already has a 100,000 man army including 10,000 SF and CT-COIN forces, and a war that has almost ended with Boko Haram heavily degraded and decimated.....yea, shows the world who truly loves Africa and who just wants to hunt for glory.

SA Soldier killed and another wounded in Sudan

Some interesting info about our deployment:

- Contributed around 850 men from 2008
- Current total cost of the deployment (since 2008) in the region of $200 million.

With this in mind, its hardly surprising we pulled out. Something I have personally advocated for quite some time.

Goodbye and good fvcking riddance!

South Africa gets cash refunded back to her for peace keeping in Sudan. UN/AU pays for all SANDF expenses. The Sudan Dafur mission costs South Africa almost nothing. Find a better excuse for abandoning a tough mission while same President Zuma is in Abuja now calling on African armies to unite amd fight all evil....while he retreats from crisis zone and abandons Dafur people without feelings.

Nigeria spent over $10 Billion of tax payers money to single handedly fund a 10 year war of 15,000 NA troops of which 1,000 Nigerian soldiers died leaving widows and fatherless children behind in Lagos, Abuja, everywhere. No UN, AU, or ECOWAS ever paid us one dollar refund. Yet a Nigerian army battalion is still based in Liberia/Sierra Leone today since 26 years ago !

Nigeria has NEVER complained one day !!! True lover of Africa.

"The SA National Defence Force (SANDF) on Wednesday dismissed reports that it would send troops to Nigeria to help fight Boko Haram.

"There is no such decision to send any military elements by the RSA to assist with the fight against Boko Haram," spokesperson Siphiwe Dlamini said."

“It is a very good thing that we are thinking that South Africa being our close ally should come and help us in developing our industrial complex, that is the Defence Industry Corporation of Nigeria.”

“We are of the opinion that very soon, when the two Commanders-in-Chief meet, and the visit is finalised, we will look into going deep on how the two countries will work together and come to an agreement on the MoU and technical expertise between the two countries.”

Fool, you are quoting sensational news media report as usual.

Last year we were told SANDF will deploy to Nigeria and fight Boko Haram, we saw nothing from SANDF, not even one soldier. Same last year we were told SAN will deploy Valour ships to patrol gulf of guinea and fight piracy in West Africa, we did not even see one SAN canoe.

SANDF that is overstretched and withdrawing from Dafur Sudan, now you fools think you are going to fight Boko Haram. Your SANDF special forces that are failing to protect your homeland from invading poachers robbing yöur Rhino resources for a decade unstoppable, now you want to fight in a strange land against sleek terrorists.

The official story from Nigerian government NTA news medium says NOTHING about SANDF SF fighting Boko Haram.....

General Shoke said Nigeria is very important to South Africa, hence the need of working together for the benefit of both countries especially now when Nigeria is fighting Boko Haram. He his Armed Forces commitment to the development of the Nigerian military in the area of capacity building, exchange programme and logistics support, among others. Nigerian army General Olonisakin said Boko Haram has been substantially decimated and degraded. He said the war against terror is closing up and would soon end.

http://www.nta.ng/news/diplomacy/2016/03/07/south-africa-to-work-with-nigerian-military/

I guess you don't know the meaning of working together for the benefit of both countries and military exchange programmes. You think it means your army is deploying to fight in Nigeria even when Buhari said no foreign army will fire one bullet in Nigeria.

The Nigerian army general said Boko Haram is heavily degraded and decimated and that the war is closing up to end soon....so which enemy is SANDF coming to fight? The already dead Boko Haram?

Soweto fools with zero battle experience wants to help a country that has over 5,000 well equipped special forces trained by Israel, Pakistan, USA, UK, and Belarus plus 6 years non-stop combat experience . What do you inexperienced sit at home SANDF have to offer? Textbook or internet photo combat?

Military exchange programme, while Nigerian officers share 6 years of current COIN war experience with SANDF, what will SANDF officers share in return, THIZA's Hollywood photos? Tell you fact, SANDF is stylishly coming to learn how Nigeria defeated Boko Haram under the guise of training exchange programme. When did an SANDF, I don't mean old SADF, I mean current SANDF, when did an SANDF tank battalion fire tank shell to kill an enemy? When did current SANDF special forces ever did surgical strike by squad insertion deep inside enemy stronghold and assasinate a key leader of hostile forces inside his own stronghold?

SANDF, your useless army that gets robbed and disposessed of rifles and ammunition by civilian theives armed with kitchen knives, and gets tied up with their own army boots laces not even real ropes.....that is the army you think Nigeria will invite to help them fight Boko Haram? Army guide is pretty clear - cam gun employs 2 different world firsts. That makes it the most advanced.

But fine, let me be more specific:

The GI-30 CAM GUN is the most advanced OPERATIONAL 30mm auto-cannon in the world

Now, argument is over. Can we please move on with our lives?

You have started your derailment again on same old argument.

CAM GUN is not the worlds first gun with linkless ammunition, the American M230 Chain gun was the world's first in the 1970s. Even German RMK-30 has been linkless ammo since 1997 and that is in addition to being the first and only RECOILLESS technology 30mm cannon on planet earth, RMK-30 is the most advanced.
