Mumu before calling others dumb you should ask yourself why a proper blue water have landing craft and amphibious vessels?

why do navys have helicopter and fighter jets?

Why do they have replenishment ships?

You are a fool.

Why would Egyptian Navy buy mistral class carriers, landing crafts, helicopters?

You don't even have a blue water navy yet fool.
South Africa can't project force anywhere dummy.

Foolish South African with dull brain.

Big 1,800 to 3,300 Tonnes moderately armed navy ships with 76mm main guns and anti-missile decoys are not brown water vessels, their sizes and range are blue water capability.

NNS Thunder, NNS Okpabana, sail from north pole arctic ice zone down to south pole, and voyage far off to the end of the world in Australia, that is blue water capability sailing from one end of the planet to the other.

NNS Ambe Landing Ship Tank is back in service, refit completed 2015/2016, that is a blue water vessel that moved Nigerian tanks and artillery to Liberia and Sierra Leone. That is amphibious capability force projection.

NN controlling the entire Gulf Of Guinea up to SADC in response to Angola's distress call, is true and tested force projection.

Blue water navy and force projection does not mean the ship must carry missiles, the important thing is that It must be armed to meet the level of threat that is to be encounteree on it's mission. That is one thing the South Africans do not know, they think only missiles make blue water or force projection, but no !

There is peace time maritime security blue water missions and force projection, that is what Indian navy signed deal to do with Nigerian navy for long term, India has requested to be allowed to depend on Nigeria's blue ocean capabilities across the Atlantic ocean

Pls list missiles that can engage at that range
Pls list attack helos that can engage at that range

Many....Attack Helicopters like....

Apache
Mangusta
Havoc
Tiger
ATAK
Hind

.....armed with 8 km to 11 km range missiles/ATGM like....

Hellfire missile
Ataka 120M missile
LAHAT missile,

etc will hït targets from 8 km range.

" The laser homing attack missile (LAHAT) is a light-weight anti-tank guided missile produced by Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI). It can be fired from vehicles, helicopters, vessels and remote installations.

The LAHAT is a very compact missile and relies on semi-active laser (SAL) guidance to engage targets using both direct or indirect designation system.

LAHAT helicopter launched missile can destroy stationary and moving targets at ranges up to 8km with pin-point accuracy. "

Hellfire is maxed at 8km, I checked before i asked you for a list

I am allways one step ahead of you

You are always 100 steps behind us Nigerians all the time.

Let me educate you again as usual. Hellfire max range is NOT 8km as you say, it is 11 km.

"Each Hellfire weighs 45.4kg-49kg including an 8kg-9kg multipurpose warhead. It has 8km (LOAL, high trajectory), 7.1km (LOAL, low / direct trajectory) and 11km (UAS: LOAL, high trajectory) range depending on the trajectory."

You NEVER knew any ATGM has been hitting targets easily at 8 km range until I educated you.

You obviously can't read. If you could you would've seen that the test where the makopa missed the target was back in 2011 with a telemetry missile.

Two missiles were fired in 2011, and [b] another two Mokopa fired during the Rooivalk demonstration on 3 and 4 February 2016.

The first firing involved the Rooivalk successfully firing the missile at a target that was laser designated from the ground. The second firing the following day was not quite as smooth – the target was laser designated by a Gripen flying overhead. The Rooivalk launched the missile at a range of 8 km, which followed the laser beam from the Gripen, but narrowly missed the target.

The 2011 tests used telemetry missiles, but 2016’s firings were designed to evaluate trajectory and penetration and long range capability in conjunction with an airborne remote designator. [b] The 10 km range Mokopa."

You mentally degraded boy with Zulu transplanted brain. Defenceweb report in the bolded part says the 2016 two day demonstration of this February is the one meant for airborne remote designation by Gripen plus Rooivalk combination, and that the second day did not go smoothly as the Mokopa missed target in front of potential customers in a business marketing demo show !

Your white skull is missing its white brain, the Zulu brain transplant has turned you into Kolomemtal victim overnight .

There is NO single record anywhere of Mokopa hitting target at 8 km in its history from lab test to marketing demo.

4 Frigates and 3 subs are enough to send your entire navy to the bottom of the ocean and blockade your country.

South Africa can projet force, its a fact, deal with it

South Africa TECHNICALLY has no frigates anymore, your navy now calls them VALOUR PATROL CORVETTES.

SAN has only enough full complement of crews (sailing and combat) for ONLY ONE SUBMARINE AT ONE TIME, and you have a sub that will be sunk by NAF Alpha jets, Albatross jets, or guided missile armed dones and NN high speed ocean interceptor vessels while it snorkels gasping for oxygen resupply every 96 hours.

You have ZERO force projection, that is why Indian navy signed many years long term maritime security operation joint venture for South Atlantic ocean with Nigerian navy, thus ignoring South African navy and it's sleep at home inexperienced navy.

These Indian admirals sailed warships past Cape Town to come so far up and show great confidence in Nigerian navy due to our decades of operational track records from 1960-2016 wars, peace keeping, maritime security, including saving Angola in time of trouble inside your own SADC regional backyard.

Maybe our fellow Nigerian experts can tell us why did the most trusted Apache missed its targets using Hellfire in Afghanistan and only ended up killing two farmers? Apache missed the target it could see using short range hellfire and with mokopa you cannot even see the target from range and you will only have to link with another platform like fighter jet or ground laser beams using interoperable TDL.

http://m.military.com/video/operations-and-strategy/air-strikes/hellfire-misses-2-taliban/1838853040001/

Let us hear what Henry has to say about this.

There is no visible Apache helicopter in your above video.

There is no visible missile launch in same video.

There is no visible target in the video.

There is NO proof that is even an helicopter launching a missile. All we see is a street and smoky explosion on the ground. Could just be a ground to ground mortar or RPG fire by unknown people on the ground.

So just so i can understand....when a country is looking to purchase a new missile like Mokopa, they do it like they are buying a loaf of bread? Read what is written about it (nutrients, calories etc etc) then buy it? If things like missiles are quick and easy to buy, why do defence deals take so long? Why do you hear of a rumour that X wants buy from Y, then only many months later a deal is made public?

Very simple answer....country Y will varify every single piece of advertised data. People think Algeria came for a 2 day shopping spree and just filled Mokopa in a shopping basket and left? They bought 100 missiles from Denel, they did so because each technical aspect of the missile was proven to them over many months.....i know that, personally. Long before articles are printed on Defenceweb internal memos are circulated throughout Denel stating the progress of tests to potential customers. Hence why i said a few weeks ago to look out for Denel's biggest deal ever, you wont find it on Defenceweb or Janes yet.

Missiles are tested in various flight regimes. A-Darter went through the same process. It was never always fired at max range and max g's. Mokopa has a range of 10km, end of story.

Algeria has wasted it's money on Denel product. Algeria was deceived.

Today Mokopa fails and missed target at 8km, sure it will miss target at 6km.

Msauza:

Aguagu, that is very logic. Missile's range are controlled by the rotor engine mounted in them and as soon as the missile is launched it loses its thrusting power throughout its journey. Remember that the missile makes turns and twists throughout its flight and requires power. If the missile ranges up to 8Km, it will not mean that targets will have to be engaged at maximum range because you will only remain a fool to engage targets at that range. It will be a waste because you will stand 99% chance to miss the target.

Denel's logic did not advertise that its power thrust will fail before 10 km, they said it has 10 km attack range, and ex-SAAF air force chief called it an 'over the horizon distance missile'. Denel logic does not agree with you.....LOL....Denel logic makes South Africa 'smarter' than Europe in technology....LOL.....pride goes before a fall....LOL...laughing in Zulu.

Meanwhile, Saaengine and THIZA have run away into hiding as Mokopa + Rooivalk + Gripen threefold combination backbone of SAAF, missed easy pre-arranged target in broad daylight .....LOL....laughing in Xhosa & Ndebele....LOL

Agaugust give me any of the ATGMs you know that can engage the target at the range of 8Km? You haven't answered me yet because all the missiles you listed have max range of 8Km and will never engage target at that range because the rotor engine would have depleted its thrusting power before it reaches that range. Chances will be 90% sure case that the target will be missed.

Ouch!! Agaugust fails yet again.

Ouch!! SANDF Rooivalk + Gripen + Mokopa fails yet again.

Show us proof of your above claim, show us where manufacturers say 10 km missile will not hit target at 10 km....Denel claimed 10 km range for Mokopa, they did not advertise that its power thrust will fail before 10 km, they it has 10 km attack range.....anyway its now downgraded to 5 km in reality grin

Just a few months ago they tried to disregard a source of mine that dated back to 2012, now all of a sudden they are trying to draw conclusions on tests done back in 2011.......talk about being hypocritical!!!!!!!!!!

Nope, we are drawing conclusion on MARKETING DEMONSTRATION TO POTENTIAL BUYERS DONE 14 DAYS AGO that ended up in failure of Rooivalk, Gripen, and Mokopa. 3-in-1 triple failure in one day tonguetongue

UN officer in Congo, most likely bribed with money by Denel marketers, praised Rooivalk for a job done by Mi-35 Hinds that hovers well and has superior firepower over the twice expensive Rooivalk fat turkey.

Mokopa fraudulently advertised as 10 km range, Denel decieved Algeria and exported Mokopa with fake range. Today Mokopa fails and missed target at 8km, sure it will miss target at 6km.

So much for the claim of "South African made defence products are same class as those of Europe....we have the biggest defence industry in Africa, we are top 20 arms exporters in the world....blah blah blah...."

South Africa is exporting fake products with fraudulent claims of false performance capabilities.

I said it before that 10 km range Mokopa will NEVER work, now I am proved right in the eyes of the whole world today !!!!!

Like I have repeatedly stated, let SANDF go test all these their shiny painted and over-rated untested weapons in a real war and let us see their performance, let us count how many targets they will miss per day on the battlefield !
