nigerian military does not favour public display of photos of its weaponry except during rare occasion for public ceremonies, that is the nigerian military tradition. i want to post the few photos you can ever get of nigerian military, few because it is a very secretive force due to its british army doctrine, and you will hardly ever see photo of nigerian military firing live ordinance in weapons exercise.

gentlemen please everyone talk less politics and more military, that is the topic for this thread, i am not trained in political science and i dont have much to say on this. i am more enjoying the military talk. no politics please !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! thank you everyone |
south african navy valour stealth frigates will take out an aircraft carrier ? is the navy admiral commanding the aircraft carrier a fisherman at sea to catch fishes? do you know the calibre of countries that operate aircraft carrier ? even south africa has no aircraft carrier. the admiral there is not a naval rating or petty officer. his aircraft carrier has a mini airforce on top of the deck and many missile tubes ready to fire SAM, SSM, anti ship torpedoes, anti-submarine helicopters, maybe even cruise missiles and ICBM's and sometimes nuclear missiles ! ...and he will be sitting on the water for a valour frigate to sink him ? and aircraft carriers never sail alone, they sail in fleet battle groups or naval task forces along with corvettes, frigates, destroyers, minesweepers and sometimes electronic counter measure vessels, and a valour frigate will sink that ? i dont know any record of modern warfare in which an aircraft carrier was sunk, they are the most expensive military weapons in the world today and can cost $3 billion to build one, so they dont have weak defenses, they are almost impossible to hit, check modern naval warfare history from vietnam war to gulf war. this opens the new chapter i have kept in reserve, the above analysis i made is a proof that i am not an internet military analyst, i work as an african research support staff for a private military company in the USA, i have it, God gave me, you cannot take it away from me, i am who i am, and i know what i know. i will post the few nigerian military photos available, they dont ever allow public access to their field operations and live weapon firing exercises, nigerian military is very secretive to even we nigerians, you cannot photograph them easily, they wont display unless it is a ceremony, and you never get their weapons movement videos, it is an old british tradition in the doctrine of nigerian military. so i will post the few photos available. then i will open the next chapter to show who is an internet military analyst and who is in the circle of world's best military officers who served in the US and NATO operations, as a civilian researcher in their circle, i have that privilege and i will display it soon. |
Ghana's military is not in africa's top ten, due to old weaponry and too few heavy equipment, also a shortage of manpower with too few soldiers for action. the only thing they have is the british army doctrine and i admit that is very good, their officer cadre in Ghana is world class and their training at infantry level is as good as nigeria , south africa, and egypt. they only lack heavy equipment for the army, navy and airforce of Ghana. thay have discovered crude oil and now make about $1 billion a year so i expect them to acquire new heavy weapons that will befit their former glory as a strong african power in the 1960's. A nigerian is said to have posted a ranking that put south africa as number 1 rank, well it is for the public to judge him because the same man put libya at number 3 in africa and it shows his ranking is technically faulty becasue he does not have sufficient military knowledge, libya is a military zero as at today, and even when they were strong in the 1980's ordinary chad republic was over-runing their forward air force base in chadian territory and capturing their russian made Tu-22 strategic bombers and their SAM 6 missile batteries all intact and shipped to france for analysis of russian cold war weapons....very funny ? yes very funny ! and thats not all, the same nigerian ranked ghana above algeria, because ghana was in his top 10 and algeria was totally missing, so how does ghana use 6 MB339 and L-39 trainer/light ground attack jets to shoot down 220 algerian MIG 25, MIG 29, SU-24, and ultra modern SU-27 heavy air superiority jets which is in superior to american F-15 and F-18 ? and as at 2 years ago all the 6 ghana tiny jets have been grounded for lack of spare parts, how will they fly now ? some jokers write military rankings here...very funny, time to laugh....lol |
I AM VERY SAD AS AN AFRICAN TO WRITE THIS OBSERVATION..... IT IS A BIG SHAME THAT A SOUTH AFRICAN MAN WITH USERNAME SYNDERGP HAS CONTINUED TO USE INSULTING, RUDE, AND DIRTY LANGUAGE TO ATTACK PEOPLE ON THIS WEBSITE JUST BECAUSE OF AN ARGUEMENT OVER AFRICAN MILITARY RANKING OF NATIONS. THE MAN USERNAME SYNDERGP ON THIS WEBSITE IS A TOTAL DISGRACE TO ALL SOUTH AFRICANS. WHAT A SHAME AND DISGRACE, SO IS THIS THE TYPE OF BLACK PEOPLE THEY HAVE AS SOUTH AFRICAN CITIZENS ? NO WONDER THE WHITE MAN DECIDED TO REDUCE THEM ALL TO SLAVE STATUS UNTIL OTHER AFRICAN COUNTRIES CAME TO RESCUE THEM FROM CAPTIVITY, WHAT A SHAME SYNDERGP HAS BROUGHT ON ALL SOUTH AFRICANS, AND HE IS VERY HAPPY DOING THIS DISGRACEFUL DIRTY LANGUAGE POSTS ! |
IOLO, I RESPECT YOUR MANNER OF APPROACH AND SOUND THINKING FACULTY. I STOPPED COMMENTING ON THIS TOPIC BECAUSE OF SOME SEMI-ILLITERATE SOUTH AFRICAN 'SOLDIERS' AND CIVILIANS WHO USE INSULTING LANGUAGE AND BIASED JUDGEMENT TO POST COMMENTS ON THIS TOPIC OF AFRICA'S TOP TEN MILITARY POWERS (COUNTRIES). YOUR GOOD THINKING MADE ME COMMENT AGAIN FOR THE GENERAL PUBLIC TO BE INFORMED. MILITARY RANKING IS SOMETIMES DONE USING INAPPROPRIATE FACTORS TO JUDGE MILITARY RANKING IS OFTEN DONE BY PEOPLE WHO LACK THE TECHNICAL SKILL AND KNOWLEDGE TO JUDGE MILITARY RANKING IS BEST JUDGED BY A COMBINATION OF ARMY, NAVY, AIR FORCE OFFICERS ABOVE THE RANK OF A MAJOR WITH CONTRIBUTION FROM WAR HISTORIANS AND MILITARY STRATEGISTS. ALL OF US WHO COMMENT ON THIS TOPIC ON NAIRALAND LACK THESE QUALIFICATIONS, SO I DECIDED TO CONSULT A TEAM OF SENIOR MILITARY MEN AND WAR HISTORIANS IN THE USA WHERE I WORK WITH A PRIVATE MILITARY CONSULTANCY COMPANY AS AN AFRICAN RESEARCH SUPPORT STAFF. ONE MAN I WILL RESPECT HIS OPINION ON AFRICAN MILITARY RANKINGS IS DIMEJI BANKOLE EX-SPEAKER HOUSE OF REPS NIGERIA, HE IS A FORMER BRITISH ARMY OFFICER AND HAS A MASTERS DEGREE IN MILITARY STRATEGY. THE AMERICAN TEAM I CONSULTED HAVE TOLD ME THE CRITICAL FACTORS USED TO JUDGE MILITARY POWER AND I USED THAT TO MAKE MY RANKINGS. THESE CRITICAL FACTORS OF POWER INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO : (1) CURRENT EQUIPMENT IN SERVICE AND COMBAT READY OR IN SAFE STORAGE (UKRAINE'S AIR FORCE 100 JETS ACTIVE, 200 JETS IN SAFE STORAGE) (2) NUMBER OF COMBAT MEN IN SERVICE AND TRAINED RESERVISTS (NORTH KOREAN ARMY DETERRENT TO THE WEST BASED ON 1950 KOERAN WAR OF NUMBERS) (3) ABILITY OF THE MEN TO USE THEIR EQUIPMENT TO MAXIMUM BATTLEFIELD EFFECTIVENESS (ETHIOPIAN AIR FORCE DOG FIGHT PILOTS) (4) CALIBRE AND QUALITY OF OFFICERS FROM LIEUTENANT COLONEL TO 5 STAR GENERAL (ISRAELI ARMY OFFICERS IN WAR TACTICS) (5) PREVIOUS AND RECENT COMBAT EXPLOITS OF THE FORCES (ISRAELI MILITARY HISTORY 1967 TO 2013) (6) HISTORIC FIGHTING MORALE OF THE SOLDIERS (GURKHA ARMY ORIGINATING OF ASIAN NEPAL NATION NOW IN THE BRITISH ARMY) (7) ABILITY OF THE MILITARY TO TRANSFORM RAPIDLY AND INCREASE ITS BATTLE FIELD POTENCY WITHIN THE FIRST FEW WEEKS OF WAR (UKRAINE'S WEAPONS IN SAFE STORAGE) SOME TWO FACTORS COMMONLY USE BY THE UNTRAINED, ARE NOT GOOD ENOUGH TO JUDGE MILTARY POWER, THEY ARE : MILITARY BUDGET IS NOT AN EASY FACTOR TO USE BECAUSE OF FRAUD BY CORRUPT GOVERNMENTS LIKE ANGOLA AND ZIMBABWE WHO STEAL BILLIONS OF DOLLARS IN THE NAME OF DEFENSE SPENDING, IT IS COMMON IN AFRICA. ALSO SOME SPEND MORE OF RECURRENT EXPENDITURE AND NOT CAPITAL EXPENDITURE DUE TO SOLDIERS HUGE SALARIES OR CONSUMPTION OF BATTLEFIELD ORDINANCE AND MUNITIONS DURING AN ONGOING WAR LIKE SUDAN. MILITARY WEAPONS MANUFACTURING LOCALLY IS NOT ALSO A GOOD FACTOR TO JUDGE BECAUSE USSR SOVIET ERA MISTAKES HAS TAUGHT THE WHOLE WORLD A LESSON THAT GOVERNMENT 100% FUNDING OF DEFENSE INDUSTRIES WILL KILL THE ECONOMY IN THE LONG RUN. SO MOST COUNTRIES PRIVATIZE WEAPONS MANUFACTURING. THIS IS THE REASON WHY DENEL OF SOUTH AFRICA IS NOW BEING SLOWLY PRIVATIZED. ALSO THE WEAPONS PRODUCED IN A CAPITALIST COUNTRY HAS TO BE FULLY PAID FOR BY THE GOVERNMENT TO BUY FOR EQUIPPING THEIR MILITARY, UNLIKE THE USSR SOVIET ECONOMY OF THE PAST WHICH COLLECTED LARGE NUMBERS OF WEAPONRY FOR THE COLD WAR WITHOUT PROPER ECONOMIC DEALING WITH THE MANUFACTURERS, AND THAT IS PART OF WHAT COLLAPSED THE SOVIET UNIONS ECONOMY LEADING TO PRESIDENT GORBACHEV'S GLASNOST AND PERESTROIKA POLICY CHANGES. ALSO EXPAINS WHY SOUTH AFRICA MANUFACTURES THE ROOIVAK HELICOPTER GUNSHIP BUT HAS JUST LESS THAN 15 OF THE AIRCRAFT IN ITS OWN AIR FORCE, COMPARE THAT TO EGYPT WHICH DOES NOT MANUFACTURE HELICOPTER GUNSHIPS BUT HAS 150 AIRCRAFT IN ITS AIR FORCE (INCLUDING AMERICAN MADE APACHE HELICOPTERS) TEN TIMES THAT OF SOUTH AFRICA WHICH BOASTS OF MANUFACTURING. SO IN AN HELICOPTER COMBAT WHO WILL WIN ? EGYPT OR SOUTH AFRICA ? LET THE PUBLIC JUDGE WITH THEIR COMMON SENSE ! WEAPONS COST BILLIONS OF DOLLARS TO PRODUCE IN LARGE NUMBERS. WHAT YOU PRODUCE DOES NOT FIGHT A WAR FOR YOU UNLESS YOU BUY IT AND EQUIP YOUR MILITARY WITH IT. VERY SIMPLE LOGIC. THUS I USED THE 7 CRITICAL POINTS ABOVE TO MAKE MY RANKING OF AFRICA'S TO TEN MILITARY POWERS AS FOLLOWS : STRONGEST TEN MILITARY POWERS/COUNTRIES IN AFRICA : don't be surprised, this is the most technically sound rankings from world class military analysts in europe and north america 1. EGYPT too powerful, too strong, too well trained, too well equipped, too experienced to be challenged by any other african country. the world respects egypt's power 2. ALGERIA it will shock any country that tries to fight algeria, very well equipped modern army and airforce, yet people don't know. algeria is a silent big power 3. NIGERIA AND SOUTH AFRICA SAME POSITION nigerian army and navy are bigger and stronger both in equipment and manpower, but south african airforce is very much stronger in modern equipment, so a balance of power, meaning that a war between nigeria and south africa will end in a stalemate of no winner no loser like the iran-iraq war, it is only crazy nations who start such war that will end in a stalemate, you gain nothing, you lose many things. both countries have stealth warships, good radar defence and satellites in orbit for surveillance and information. the world respects nigerian artillery and infantry skills displayed in the past 20 years. the world respects south african airforce as they have been flying combat missions since world war II in 1940 and have very modern jet fighters. both countries have a navy not yet tested fully in battle. south african army has no record of military victory in any modern war and it tactically avoids direct combat for the past 20 years till now. 4. ETHIOPIA, ANGOLA, AND SUDAN SAME POSITION ethiopia has a battle hardened army, combat experience nation against nation, its airforce flew warplanes against italy over 70 years ago! respect ethiopia. angola and sudan have latest jet-fighters and massive tanks/artillery firepower with many years of real combat experience in big civil wars 5. MOROCCO, ERITREA, UGANDA SAME POSITION morocco has good jet-fighters,but its soldiers are not first-class on land and air combat. eritrea is a small nation with powerful airforce and army having many years of serious battlefield experience. uganda has a modernized airforce with good jetfighters and a moderately experienced army with good commanders HOWEVER IN REAL WAR, ANY OF THE WEAKER AFRICAN COUNTRIES LIKE CAMEROUN CAN SURPRISINGLY AND SUDDENLY BECOME MILITARILY POWERFUL OVERNIGHT IF THEY HAVE A DEFENCE PACT WITH A WORLD SUPER POWER LIKE FRANCE. SIERRA LEONE HAD A DEFENCE PACT WITH NIGERIA AND THE IGNORANT REBELS OVERTHREW PRSIDENT TEJAN KABBAH, NIGERIAN MILITARY RESPONDED IMMEDIATELY AND DEFEATED THE REBELS. THIS IS THE REASON WHY NIGERIA IS ALWAYS AFRAID OF WAR WITH CAMEROUN IN BAKASSI, AS FRANCE CAN SUPPORT CAMEROUN AND DEFEAT NIGERIA IN A WAR. PRESIDENT OBASANJO RUSHED TO UKRAINE TO SIGN A DEFENCE PACT BEFORE MOVING MORE TROOPS INTO BAKASSI PENINSULA DURING HIS FIRST TERM. FRANCE USED MILITARY POWER IN IVORY COAST LAST YEAR AND JUST YESTERDAY IN MALI. NEVER UNDER-ESTIMATE SUCH COUNTRIES WHO HAVE DEFENSE PACTS WITH AN EUROPEAN SUPER POWER, EVEN IF IT IS BELGIUM. if you doubt the above military power rankings for african countries, spend some time to carefully study each countries military equipment and war history on wikipedia, army recognition, and modern african war history on the internet. observe independent and unbiased web records egypt-israeli war, sudanese civil war, angolan civil war, liberian and sierra leonean civil wars, south african- cuban bush war, ethiopian-eritrean civil wars, ugandan civil war, etc. thank you general public. |
EX-PRESIDENT THABO MBEKI OF SOUTH AFRICA HAS PUBLICLY ADMITTED THAT CUBA DEFEATED HIS OWN COUNTRY SOUTH AFRICA IN MILITARY COMBAT. CASE CLOSED, PEOPLE ON THIS SITE SHOULD FIND A NEW TOPIC TO DISCUSS. CASE CLOSED BY EX-PRESIDENT THABO MBEKI. |
PUBLIC RECORDS AND EVIDENCE AVAILABLE TO THE WHOLE WORLD PROVES THAT CUBA DEFEATED SOUTH AFRICAN MILITARY NEAR THEIR HOME LAND ON AFRICAN SOIL. (1) south african ex-president Thabo Mbeki declares the truth confirming that cuba defeated south african military on african home soil QUOTE : "As we conversed with our hosts, we recollected the period in our region which ended just over a decade ago, which saw the involvement of apartheid South Africa in a massive and concerted effort to impose its will on the region and thus extend the life of the apartheid crime against humanity. Cuba's contribution to the defeat of that campaign of aggression and destabilisation against independent Africa was, of course, particularly exemplified by its decisive involvement in the military struggle to defeat the apartheid forces that had invaded Angola soon after that country's independence from Portugal. The Cuban forces were to stay in Angola for over a decade. That stay ended only when, after their defeat at Cuito Cuanavale, the apartheid invaders (south african military) understood that they would never be able to realise their objectives and that the Angolan people should have the freedom to determine their future. With that realisation came the understanding in Pretoria that it could not dictate to the independent African states through the use of force. Neither could it hold back the tide leading to the independence of Namibia and the liberation of South Africa." browse full details on : http://www.afrocubaweb.com/southafrica.htm (2) wikipedia south african border war declares that cuba defeated south african military on african soil QUOTE : " Cuba considerably reinforced its troops in Angola and came to the defence of the besieged FAPLA; the South African advance was stopped at the Battle of Cuito Cuanavale, the largest battle in Africa since World War II, in which both sides have claimed victory. The bulk of the Cuban forces advanced towards Namibia further to the west, threatening to cut off the SADF-Forces (south african military) remaining at Cuito. On 27 June 1988, Cuban MiG-23 fighters bombed the Calueque hydro-electric complex at 16.7367°S 14.9669°E, disabling it and killing 12 SADF soldiers. For some analysts the stalemate at Cuito and the death toll and vulnerability to Cuban MiGs was viewed with apprehension (fear) by the SADF (south african military )and may have had some bearing on the fact that a peace accord was agreed soon afterwards." browse full details on : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/South_African_Border_War |

CASE CLOSED ! THE THREE OF YOU HAVE WRITTEN YOUR OPINIONS AND I HAVE WRITTEN MY OPINION, LET THE OTHER MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC READ ALL AND JUDGE ALL. CASE CLOSED. |
TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC WHO WANTS TO OBTAIN CORRECT INFORMATION : between 2001 and 2008, the Nigerian Navy has taken delivery of the following: FOUR Balsam-class 61m logistics ships TWO stealth offshore patrol/attack craft, Suncraft Sea Eagle Mk.II STEALTH CAPABILITY SEVERAL British-made supply vessels VERY MANY DOZENS of brand new state-of-the art Chinese, US and Singapore-built fast response boats, troop landing craft and gunboats in the configuration 10m-25m On 12 April 2009, the Navy commissioned the two Stealth 38-meter Sea Eagle Fast Patrol Crafts (FPCs) - NNS Zaria and NNS Burutu and two new Agusta helicopters procured from Alenia, Italy. EXPECTED TO ARRIVE SOON : 1,450+ton oceangoing OPVs costs US $260m TEN More 38m stealth Offshore Patrol and Fast Attack Crafts from Singapore (two versions, the customized versions missile carrying) SEVERAL Super Dvora and Shaldag gunboats from Israel 200 (TWO HUNDRED) Chinese gunboats and landing craft (200 VESSELS including already delivered units) TWELVE Agusta A109 Power helicopters TWELVE Eurocopter AS-550 Fennec naval attack helicopters FOUR Offshore Patrol Crafts from France THIRTY gunboats from France SOUTH AFRICA HAS STEALTH FRIGATE, MAYBE ONE OR TWO I DONT KNOW, BUT THE NIGERIAN NAVY ALSO HAS TWO STEALTH OFFSHORE BLUE WATER PTRAOL CRAFTS AND THERE IS A NEW ORDER FOR ABOUT TEN MORE OF THE STEALTHS, NAVAL AUTHORITIES PLAN FOR ABOUT TOTAL OF 12 STEALTH OFFSHORE PATROL CRAFTS AND IT WILL INCLUDE CUSTOMIZED VERSIONS FOR NAVAL COMBAT TASK FORCE TO SAIL ALONGSIDE FRIGATES, CORVETTES, MINE-SWEEPERS, AND TROOP LANDING SHIPS FOR MAJOR INTERNATIONAL OPERATIONS. if they add the earlier acquired frigates, corvettes, minesweepers and throw the entire massive naval fleet against an invading south africa, can the south african task force mount a naval blockade against such a LARGE AND HIGHLY MOBILE NAVAL FORCE and succeed ? before an aggressor admiral sends his task for to blockade another navy, he researches into the defending sea power so that he does not get a surprise or shock, and how much of the south african navy fleet will be left remaining at home to defend the very long u-shaped coastal line of south africa itself ? will that admiral empty all his naval bases to sail and mount blockade thousands of nautical miles away in nigeria ? how many ships in total does he have ? that south african admiral can only risk it if he did not attend a naval academy before he got his shoulder decorated with senior officer rank insignia. THE SOUTH AFRICAN NAVY IS NOT SUPERIOR TO THE NIGERIAN NAVY, BOTH FORCES ARE ROUGHLY AT PAR, WITH A NEAR BALANCE OF POWER BETWEEN THEM. IF YOU DOUBT THIS INFO, VISIT http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/world/nigeria/navy-modernization.htm i have also gone through detailed procurement information about private companies from Germany who are upgrading nigerian navy corvettes with latest electronic warfare systems. there is just too much to write and i dont have all that time to compile details. also, some of them are sensitive and i should be wise about my own country's security information/military intelligence data. also, i cannot just quote the names of senior officers in the nigerian armed forces along with the information i get from them, i cannot expose them to a court martial for a breach of security/leak of classified defence information. thank you wise readers in the general public. |
i did not want to personally address any south african again on this issue, but i am forced to do so now. i had decided to write to the general public only, and just to correct some faulty opinions expressed here. SOUTH AFRICA HAS A WAY OF MAKING EXCUSES TO AVOID HEAVY COMBAT, AND AS A SOUTH AFRICAN COMMENTATOR, YOU HAVE THE SAME EXCUSE MAKING MANNER AND WAY OF AVOIDING A MORE RESPONSIBLE STANCE AND ACTION ON THE AFRICAN CONTINENT. if there is a will there is a way, dont tell me that a congo president will reject an offer to intervene with brigades and squadrons to liberate congo dr. i know all the fact about rwanda/uganda plundering congolese mineral resources, thats newspaper information. south africa avoids diplomatic tact in congo crisis that will open doors for an intervention force with very broad rules of engagement. nigeria was being frustrated by UN/AU on sudan but obasanjo was determined to stop the blood bath and our pressure broke the barrier, we landed in sudan. the sudanese army and supporter of APC militia did not see you as a threat, so they did not go to attack your camp at night with a whole battalion of attackers, they wanted nigeria out of sudan by discouraging us, they know who is the master of land warfare, they attacked the right contingent with heavy force. congo dr is a sovereign state and if it calls for south african full military support, no white man UN can stop him, does israel/USA/britain/france listen to the UN when their security is threatened? no, they act like real powers. they talk about their sovereign rights to take action and protect their selfish national interest. if congo dr asks for full south african forces to engage the invaders, he will not get that support even if he asks, because south africa is a paper tiger that will not go into heavy bloody combat in the hot zones of africa, they will send some soldier boys to show their presence and mark the attendance register, they wont send in brigades and squadrons, because of fear and also their manpower shortage ! i dont like addressing you personally because you use insulting language on this public forum, if you are a south african military man indeed, then you are in the file/junior cadre/NCO, but if you are in the ranks/officer cadre/CO, then you are displaying to all of us, the kind of commanders the south african military produces from their academy. a trained military officer from a good academy speaks and writes with caution and he selects his use of language/words, especially in a public forum. |
SOMEBODY WITH NEAR ZERO KNOWLEDGE OF ARMY INFANTRY WARFARE POSTED ONE OF THE MOST IGNORANT COMMENTS ON THIS WEBSITE....HE SAID 1,500 NIGERIAN SOLDIERS DIED IN ECOMOG COMBAT OPERATIONS OVER A LONG PERIOD OF 10 YEARS HAND TO HAND COMBAT BECAUSE THEY WERE NOT WELL EQUIPPED, THATS IS A VERY LOW CASUALTY RATE IN A JUNGLE WAR, NIGE PEOPLE WHO WANT TO BE COMPETENT TO WRITE MILITARY RANKINGS MUST KNOW WAR HISTORY ALL OVER THE WORLD, I SAID THAT BEFORE AND THAT MAN DID NOT LEARN HIS LESSONS. WAR HISTORY...THOUSANDS OF RUSSIAN SOLDIERS DIED IN THE MODERN DAY WAR WITH MUJAHEDIN REBELS IN AFGHANISTAN WITH ALL THE SOPHISTICATED RUSSIAN T72,Mi24 HELICOPTER GUNSHIPS,MULTIPLE ROCKETS LAUNCHERS,155MM ARTILLERY,ELECTRONIC SURVEILLANCE ON TUPOLEV JETS, BEST MIG FIGHTER JETS AND ALL, GOOGLE THE HEAVY DEATH TOLL ON THE RUSSIAN INFANTRY. GOOGLE THE DEATH TOLL OF USA MARINES IN SOMALIA BEFORE THEY RAN AWAY, GOOGLE THE CASUALTY RATE BOTH KIA AND MIA OF AMERICANS IN IRAQ, GOOGLE ANGOLAN ARMY DEATH RATE AT THE HANDS OF REBEL SAVIMBI IN THE BUSH WAR. ISRAELI TOP RATE SPECIAL OPS COMMANDO AND WAR MEDAL WINNER LT.COL NETANYAHU DIED BY ONLY ONE BULLET FROM A UGANDAN AIRPORT GARRISON SOLDIER'S OUT-DATED RIFLE DURING THE ENTEBBE RAID IN UGANDA. WHEN YOU ENGAGE IN HAND TO HAND COMBAT, URBAN WARFARE OR JUNGLE WARFARE, FACING REGULAR ARMY OR RAG TAG MILITIA/REBELS, BOTH SIDES WILL DIE. AN 18 YEAR OLD REBEL WITH AN AK-47 RIFLE IN HIS HAND IS NOT A FOOL, YOU SHOOT AT HIM AND HE FIRES AT YOU, HE MAY HIDE ON TOP OF A TREE WITH LEAVES CAMOUFLAGE AND DO SNIPER FIRING ON A TOP RATE ARMY COLONEL. JUNGLE WARFARE IN ECOMOG DID NOT ALLOW NIGERIAN TANKS/ARTILLERY TO MOVE IN THE AFRICAN RAIN FOREST WITH HUGE JUNGLE TREES 200 FEET HIGH AND DENSELY THICK, OUT ALPHA JETS COULD NOT BE USED AGAINST ENEMY FORCES INSIDE THICK FOREST IN DIFFERENT SECRET CAMP LOCATIONS. SOME PEOPLE DONT KNOW LAND WARFARE, THEY THINK A NAVAL RECRUIT RATING/SEAMAN/PETTY OFFICER CAN TALK ABOUT ALL ASPECTS OF LAND/SEA/AIR MILITARY ENGAGEMENTS, NO, IT TAKES A BALANCED ANALYST WHO CONSULTS VARIOUS ARMS OF THE MILITARY AND ASKS OFFICERS ABOVE THE RANK OF CAPTAIN TO ANALYSE THE TOPIC, THEN YOU CAN RANK AFRICA'S STRONGEST MILITARY NATIONS AFTER THEIR COMBINED ANALYSIS IS SUMMARISED. NIGERIAN ARMY CASUALTY RATE IN ECOMOG OPERATIONS IS VERY LOW DUE TO THE BRITISH/INDIAN/USA OFFICERS WE DEPLOYED, WE LOST BY MATHEMATICAL CALCULATION, AN AVERAGE ESTIMATE OF JUST 1 SOLDIER IN 3 DAYS. NO WONDER HE SAID THE BATTLE -AVOIDING SOUTH AFRICAN ARMY WAS BETTER THAN THE NIGERIAN ARMY THAT FOUGHT A 500,000 TROOP ENGAGEMENT WITH BIAFRA 1970 END, AN ESTIMATED 40,000 TROOP ENGAGEMENT IN ECOMOG 1999 END, THEN SOMALIA, THEN SUDAN/DARFUR ENGAGEMENT OF SEVERAL BRIGADES 2012 END, AND NEXT WILL BE MALI MAYBE 2013. ANY COUNTRY THAT BELIEVES IT IS STRONG ENOUGH TO BE AFRICA'S NUMBER ONE MILITARY POWER IN THE SOUTHERN HALF OF AFRICA SHOULD NOT SIT DOWN LIKE A COWARD AND WAIT FOR UNITED NATIONS TO SAVE CONGO DR, MOVE IN THERE AND SILENCE ALL THE RAG TAG ARMIES, SHOW YOUR POWER NOT TALK ABOUT YOUR POWER, WE WANT ACTIONS NOT WORDS , FIGHT AND DIE LIKE MEN ON THE BLOODY BATTLE FIELD, DONT FIGHT WITH YOUR MOUTH ON THIS INTERNET WEBSITE. NIGERIA COULD NOT WAIT FOR THE UN , WE PRESSURED THE AU TO LET US LAND OUR ARMY IN SUDAN, WE WERE ALREADY DOING COMBAT DRILLS FOR SEMI-DESERT ENGAGEMENT AND PUT 3 NIGERIAN AIRFORCE C130 HERCULES ON STANDBY FOR AIRLIFT TO SUDAN TO STOP THE MASS ABUSE OF WOMEN AND KILLING THERE. ANY NATION SOUTH OF THE EQUATOR THAT WANTS TO GO INTO CONGO DR CAN DO DIPLOMATIC DUE DILIGENCE, GET A UN MANDATE FROM SECURITY COUNCIL AND MOVE 5 ARMY BRIGADES AND 2 AIR FORCE SQUADRONS INTO CONGO DR AND THEN WE WILL RANK THEM AS AFRICA'S MILTARY NUMBER ONE AFTER THEY END THE WAR IN CONGO DR AND THEY WIN THE PEACE 100%. EARN A BIG RANKING BY DOING BIG THINGS. GREAT NATIONS DO GREAT THINGS. REAL WAR CAPABILITY IS NOT TESTED ON INTERNET, GO TO THE BLOODY BATTLE FIELD TO SHOOT AND BE SHOT AT, THEN WE RANK YOU BASED ON HOW YOU COME OUT OF THE COMBAT ZONE DEAD OR ALIVE ! |
ANYONE WITH BETTER FACTS OF HISTORY ? 1994 MANDELA WAS PRESIDENT, AND 1994 RWANDAN GENOCIDE SAW 800,000 BLACKS DIE IN CIVIL WAR, SOUTH AFRICA WATCHED THE BLOOD OF ITS FELLOW BLACKS WASTED. CONGO DR HAS BEEN IN CIVIL WAR AND EXTERNAL INVASION UP TILL TODAY AND SOUTH AFRICA CANNOT MOVE IN TO SAVE CONGO DR. A LIVING DOG IS BETTER THAN A DEAD LION, THAT IS A WORD OF WISDOM. A WRITER SAYS HERE THAT SOUTH AFRICA HAS 3,000 SOLDIERS IN MISSIONS ABROAD, I DONT KNOW THE REAL NUMBERS, BUT WE KNOW THEY ALWAYS AVOID REAL COMBAT, THEY DONT WANT TO DIE, BUT THEY WANT TO BE AFRICA'S NUMBER ONE SOLDIERS WHO TACTICALLY AVOID LIVE BULLETS AND LIVE BOMBS IN COMBAT ZONES. A POST HERE SAYS SOUTH AFRICA HAS 1,200 SOLDIERS IN CONGO DR, YET THAT NUMBER IS LESS THAN THE ESTIMATED 1,500 NIGERIAN SOLDIERS WHO DIED IN ECOMOG COMBAT ZONES ALONE. THE ACCLAIMED NUMBER ONE MILITARY POWER IS SO TINY WHEN IT COMES TO PUTTING MEN INTO THE BATTLEFIELD, SO WHAT IS POWER ? WHAT IS TOP RANKING ? DO YOU GET TO THE TOP OF FIFA FOOTBALL RANKINGS BY PARADING SUPER FOOTBALLERS AND YET NOT PLAYING MATCHES AND WINNING FOOTBALL COMPETITIONS ? WHAT IS RANKING? IS IT A JOKE ? IS IT AN ANALYSIS PEOPLE MAKE IN THEIR BEDROOMS ? MILITARY RANKINGS IS NOT ONLY JUDGED BY STOCKPILE OF WEAPONS AND DEFENCE INDUSTRIES MANUFACTURING LISTS. REAL MILITARY ACHIEVEMENT IN WAR IS A MAJOR FACTOR IN RANKING MILITARY POWER, OTHERWISE WE WILL OVER-RATE A FAT COW WITH PLENTY OF FLESH MEAT BUT VERY SHORT DWARF HORNS ON ITS HEAD. SOUTH AFRICA HAS TROOPS IN CONGO DR YET THAT COUNTRY KNOWS NO PEACE, IT IS STILL IN PIECES. IF THERE IS ANY TRUE MILITARY GIANT IN THE SOUTHERN HALF OF AFRICA WHO RANKS NUMBER ONE, LET HIM WAKE UP AND CLEAN UP THE MESS IN CONGO DR, GIANTS DO BIG THINGS, NOT SMALL THINGS. GIANTS SHOW THEIR POWER ON THE BLOODY BATTLEFIELD AND NOT ON THE INTERNET WEBSITES. SOUTH AFRICAN SOLDIERS ARE IN SUDAN, HOW MANY DIED IN REAL COMBAT ? THE BODIES OF MANY NIGERIAN SOLDIERS WERE BROUGHT HOME FOR BURIAL TO THEIR WEEPING WIDOWS JUST A FEW YEARS AGO AFTER THE SUDANESE ARMY AND supporter of APC MILITIA MEN ATTACKED OUR PEACE KEEPING NIGERIAN INFANTRY WHEN OUR MEN SLEPT AT NIGHT. WE HAD NO HEAVY WEAPONS BECAUSE WE JUST WENT TO KEEP PEACE AND THE UN WAS NOT GIVING US ENOUGH FUNDS TO TRAVEL THOUSANDS OF KILOMETERS AWAY FROM HOME ALMOST IN THE MIDDLE EAST TO INTERVENE IN A BLOODY 25 YEAR OLD WAR. NIGERIAN SOLDIERS FOUGHT AND DIED DURING THAT ATTACK, BUT THE WORLD WAS SURPRISED THAT WITH LIMITED NUMBERS OF MEN AND LIGHT ARMS, THE LARGER SUDANESE FORCE COULD NOT BREAK INTO THE TEMPORARY CAMP THE NIGERIANS SLEPT IN. TRUE WARRIORS GO AND LOOK FOR DEATH WHERE IT CAN BE FOUND, COWARDS SAY WE TOO ARE THERE FOR RECORD PURPOSES, BUT WE WONT BE IN THE FIRING LINE TO DIE, WE HAVE WIVES AND CHILDREN WAITING FOR US BACK HOME, WE DONT WANT TO DIE IN SUDAN'S WAR ! IT IS A VERY SAD STORY TO HAVE A NATION THAT SOME PEOPLE CLAIM IS AFRICA'S STRONGEST MILITARY POWER, YET THAT NATION SAT DOWN AND FOLDED ITS ARMS WHILE RWANDAN GENOCIDE TOOK PLACE AND 800,000 AFRICANS DIED, THAT NATION HAS A HUGE STOCKPILE OF WEAPONS AND MANUFACTURES ARMAMENTS AND STEALTH FRIGATES, YET IT LOOKS ASIDE AND GOES TO SLEEP WHILE CONGO DR IS TORN APART FOR MANY YEARS IN BLOODSHED EVERY DAY, BUT NO INTERVENTION OR HELP FROM THE NATION WHOSE CITIZENS ON THIS FORUM CLAIMS TO BE AFRICA'S NUMBER ONE MILITARY POWER. WHAT IS THE USE AND BENEFIT OF A STRONG NEIGHBOUR WHO WILL NOT RESCUE MY SOUL IN TIME OF TROUBLE WHEN HE HAS SO MUCH POWER IN HIS HANDS AS HE CLAIMS ? MAY GOD CONTINUE TO BLESS NIGERIA FOR ITS GALLANT SOLDIERS WHO HAVE DIED IN THOUSANDS DURING HAND TO HAND INFANTRY COMBAT IN LIBERIA, SIERRA LEONE, SOMALIA, SUDAN, AND VERY SOON TO DIE IN MALI, SACRIFICING THEIR NIGERIAN LIFE AND BLOOD JUST TO SAVE THEIR FELLOW BLACK MEN FROM AGONY. THE STRONGER MAN IS NOT THE ONE THAT SITS DOWN FEELING FAT AND BOASTING..."I AM THE STRONGEST". THE STRONGER MAN IS THE ONE THAT STANDS UP LIKE A TRUE SON OF COURAGE AND WALKS INTO BATTLES FAR AWAY FROM HIS OWN HOME, TO DIE AND BE BURIED THERE IF NECESSARY...FROM 1990 TO 2012...WE FIGHT, WE DIE , WE BECOME HEROES BUT OUR WIVES BECOME WIDOWS. WHO KNOWS THE SMALLEST BOOK IN THE WORLD ? IT IS THE LIST OF SOUTH AFRICAN MILITARY HEROES FROM 1990 TO 2012, MY DEAR READERS, HAVE YOU BOUGHT A COPY ? |
i will not engage in any exchange of words with the south african men on this topic, a true professional has his honour and does not degrade himself to the level of non-professionals. i never claimed to be an insider of USA or NATO military, i said i work for a private american military consultancy, there are many private military cormpanies in the USA and they do this business to make money. i am also an american citizen, and i have enough credentials to be employed where i work and it gives me privilege of meeting USA and EU military men. dimeji bankole former speaker house of representaives nigeria is an ex-british army officer with a master's degree in military startegy, late shlomo adesina is an ex-israeli army soldier nco, there are many nigerians in USA and EU military because they are qualified to be there. i am in the office where i work because i am qualified to be there. i got this job after i wrote a ten page analysis of nigeria's globally respected 3rd marine commandoes, because i am close to one of its former commanders, a retired army general. below is an extract from my lecture notes during a class/training i attended on my job, i cannot tell you the lecturer's name for privacy reasons, but i will quote his own source just the way he did. read what is below, only for the intelligent readers, this is a tiny piece of knowledge from the brain of professional military analyst and strategists who are truly qualified to give correct rankings of military power among countries of the world. you will see from this article below, hwy you cannot judge military power and predict victory in war just because a country has the more weapons or manufactures more weapons, the calibre of top brass marshaling the forces is very important to win a war, the experience of the generals, admirals, air marshals, is a very vital factor of military power. Why Britain Won The Falklands War From 'Tempest in a Teapot' by Reginald & Elliot, 1983 This was the question posed by American academics Reginald & Elliot in the conclusion to their excellent 1983 study on the Falklands War, 'Tempest in a Teapot'. "Why did Britain win? The British victory was composed of equal measures of professionalism and luck, both essential factors in the prosecution of a war. On paper, Argentina appeared to have a decided edge, in men, materiel, planes, position, and supply lines. The Argentine advantage, however, was eroded away by the British forces as the war developed, the experience of the British military being a decisive factor. Britain also used the press much more efficiently than Argentina, giving the impression of evenhandedness, truthfulness, even humbleness in advancing its claims, when in reality the military manipulated the few reporters assigned to the fleet by feeding them exaggerated but believable reports about the large numbers of British troops, ships, and planes being sent to the South Atlantic. While the Argentine press releases were discredited almost from the first day of the campaign, Britain's official government press office was regarded by most westerners as the only news source that was even partially veracious. In other words, Britain won the psychological war, and by doing so, gave an enormous boost to its military position. As the war progressed, even Argentina began believing British claims. This was, of course, precisely what Britain intended. The sinking of the Argentine ship General Belgrano not only removed from the seas Argentina's most powerful warship, but also effectively marked the end of the naval war in the Falklands; thereafter, Argentina kept its ships within sighting distance of the mainland. Argentina seemed to have a large advantage in air power at the beginning of the conflict, but never was able to use its large numbers of fighter-bombers to establish control of the air space over the Falklands. Instead, twenty British Sea Harriers flying round the clock effectively knocked the Argentine Air Force out of the sky in the first two weeks of the shooting war. The slower Harriers showed an uncanny ability to outmanoeuvre the faster but clumsier Skyhawks and Mirages, shooting down the Argentine planes in an astonishing ratio of about fifteen British kills for every one for Argentina. The Argentine Air Force demonstrated immense bravery and tenacity in attacking the British fleet, which was bottled up in Falkland Sound with no room to manoeuver. But its best efforts were thwarted by a high number of dud bombs, including six that actually hit British ships, by the myriad of antiaircraft missiles thrown at the attacking Argentine jets, and by the short amount of combat time (2-10 minutes) that each Argentine plane actually had over the target areas. Essentially, each Argentine aircraft had to line up over the combat zone, quickly dump its bombs and missiles, perhaps turn around once for a strafing run, and then head back to home base, or run the risk of running out of fuel. This left the Argentine craft at an enormous disadvantage in pursuing the Sea Harriers, in picking better targets, in avoiding missiles. In the end, Argentina lost perhaps one-half to two-thirds of its serviceable combat planes, depending on which claims one chooses to believe; more importantly, the Argentines lost a large percentage of its trained fighter pilots, a resource that will be far more difficult to replace than the aircraft themselves. On land Argentina fared little better. Brigadier General Menendez, who had spoken out against the original Argentine invasion, was simply the wrong man to be defending the Argentine beachhead. He consistently showed himself incapable of making the simplest military judgements. His strategy, his placement of troops, his supply lines, his responses to British actions, all demonstrated woeful military incompetence. Paradoxically, President Galtieri recognised Menendez's deficiencies on his only visit to the islands, but refused to replace him, on the grounds his removal might demoralise the Argentine populace and soldiery. The British forces were allowed to land at San Carlos Bay virtually unopposed. Argentine troops at Goose Green were reinforced by Menendez, but provided with no further support when they most needed it. Once Goose Green fell, Menendez seemed to pursue a persistent policy of retreat, falling back from entrenched positions at the least sign of pressure from the advancing British. As a result, he soon found himself besieged at Puerto Argentino / Port Stanley, encircled by land and cut off by sea, with no air support whatsoever. At the end, his soldiers broke and ran before the final British attack. Contributing to the Argentine defeat on land was the dichotomy between the Argentine enlisted men and their elitist officers, many of whom never moved from their relatively plus surroundings in Port Stanley, while the men in the trenches were struggling to find something hot to eat and something warm to wear. A number of the intermediate officers abandoned their units under British military pressure, leaving them in charge of their sergeants or corporals. The vast gap between the privileged officer class and the poorly trained conscripts that comprised much of the Argentine army resulted in a demoralisation of the forces in the field, and a tendency for them to crumble before the relentless British onslaughts. Contributing to this was Argentina's poor supply chain: while goods and war materiel piled-up in Port Stanley, the soldier in the field received less and less in food, clothes, and weaponry as the war progressed. He felt abandoned by his own people, and consequently did not fight as well as he could have fought, had he been properly maintained and directed. The fault for the military debacle must lie directly with the heads of the Argentine armed services. Leaving aside political considerations, could Argentina have won the military struggle? There is no certain answer to this question, but most observers seem to feel that Argentina could at least have made a better showing in the Falklands than it did. Argentina's three surviving submarines were never a factor in the struggle: one was apparently unserviceable, but the remaining two could and should have been deployed near the British fleet. The long Argentine aircraft carrier could have been deployed near enough to the Falklands to increase Argentine air cover there tremendously. The sinking of a British aircraft carrier would have halved British air power, as well as demoralised the entire British expeditionary force - this should have been the first priority of the Argentine Navy. The Argentine Air Force probably did as well as possible with the mixture of old and new equipment available to it: if more Exocet missiles had been purchased, if newer aircraft had been obtained, perhaps the outcome might have been different. The Argentine Army made a very poor showing indeed: with better officers, better supply lines, with more aggressive tactics, Argentina could have at least fought the British to a standstill, and perhaps driven them off the beaches at Port San Carlos. But they did not, a fact over which military historians will be pondering for decades to come." Source: R. Reginald & J.M. Elliot, 'Tempest in a Teapot : The Falkland Islands War', (1983), The Borgo Press, San Bernardino, California, USA the nigerian, henry who replied the south africans did a good job, though i regret to say that he is doing the same thing he accused me of, he said i was talking gibberish and ranted, now the south africans' low level of education and calculative judgement has irritated him and he has also began to gibber and rant. however in our nigerian gibber/rant is the truth, the whole truth. henry owes me an apology (lol). fellow commentators, let the south africans continue to show their lower level of judgement, there is no group of black people in the world that can beat nigerians in head to head use of intelligence and wisdom. nigeria was quoted by a south african as flying MIG 29 Fulcrum and we dont have it, no south african quoted the many bhundreds of very modern and latest european technology amoured vehicles COBRAS from turkey and VBL from france that the nigerian army publicly paraded in large numbers before international diplomats in 2010 and you can view that parade's video free on you-tube, no south african quoted nigeria's total airspace radar coverage for air defence, no one quoted nigeria's ex-airforce chief late air marshal ibrahim alfa's comment in the guardian newspapers that nigeria maintains air defence capability equal in sophistication to the top arab nations, and he also said the deciding factor in war is not how many weapons you parade but how you use them and your wisdom in deploying them in the best manner. nigeria's military policy and strategy is defensive, because we dont make trouble like iraq. thus, the SAM missile air-defence capability of nigeria is top secret and 99.9% on nigerians will never have access to that information, even most military officers in nigeria dont know, that information is not globally published and it is best obtainable by espionage information. nigeria believes in safeguarding itself from external aggression and that is its defence policy thrust. i have some of the information because i know one of the private companies that won the contract for the hardware, but i will never post it on a public website as that will be a betrayal of my country. let any Grippen try to fly through that total radar coverage integrated with SAM missiles in underground silos...that is a little revelation of secrecy...location and deployment of weaponry. anyone who has time to waste can continue replying the south africans who envy the average nigerian because he is intellectually superior to the average south african. a rank in the army does not qualify you to make correct rankings of countries military power, you need the joint opinion of military officers, military analysts, war history experts, weaponry experts, and experienced battle tested combatant soldiers above the rank of a captain. global firepower website of rankings is not reliable, it ranked iran above germany, it ranked thailand above ukraine and it ranked singapore above denmark, and that is the madness of ranking that the south african soldier on this topic is relying on as his source of information and he asked all of us to go and read that ? are nigerian's fools ? no sir !! a rank in the army does not qualify you to make correct rankings of countries military power, you need the joint opinion of military officers, military analysts, war history experts, weaponry experts, and experienced battle tested combatant soldiers above the rank of captain, this because when you do rankings you are actually predicting who will win a war...and many factors determine the outcome of a war, not just mnanufacturing or stockpiling weapons. |
sorry gentlemen, i think we have some rude and under-aged people writing comments here, or just maybe old men with no good manners, insulting words are used by the south african men on this site and for this topic, i thank God i have decided not to contribute again since some people are not operating at the same privileged level that i am with information directly form USA and EU military circles. true professionals dont waste their knowledge where it is not appreciated. i cannot downgrade myself to the level of a south african 'army sergent' if at all he is truly a military man. i dont believe him because i did not see him display a flash of military doctrine and discipline in the way he talks to people on this forum, a true military officer well trained as he claims they are in south africa, will not use insults on people over this topic. this south african writers on nairaland are either fake soldiers or junior and poorly educated recruits or NCO, and their level of competence to write of a complex military topic like this, is very doubtful. this is a topic for generals or top class military analysts to rank a continent's military powers. war history since 1939 to 2012, has taught every army general a lesson, who is the best military power ? who is the top of the rankings among countries ? the answer is simple and certain only after the bloody war ends, the superior country is the one that wins at the final end of the war, not before the war ! wisdom for you all. thanks. |
i will not engage in war of words over a topic of which 99% of people who write on nairaland are not professionals. i work with a military/defence consulting firm in the USA, and i talk to many military officers from the USA and EU, my job also involves many weapon manufacturing companies, and top ranking military analysts who know the secrets of all these countries we are arguing about. you wont have the confidential/secret information that i have unless you work in the military industry or profession. you feel like making south africa number one in your rankings because you are a south african man, no problem sir, go ahead. just know that your patriotic wish will not win a war for your country, the better fighting force will win. for others, who are not biased and who care to know, the americans and british respect nigerian military officers more than any other african force, why ? they compete in military schools in their own country and the nigerians beat them. i know them and i talk with them. the western powers talk about the secret nature of nigeria's military strength, even nigerian's are not aware. i wont say all that i know on this forum because a lot of people just want to talk and they have no military training and they dont talk with military officers and consultants in the most powerful countries of the west. so, you either like my ranking or hate it....EGYPT IS AFRICAN NO.1, ALGERIA NO.2, NIGERIA AND SOUTH AFRICA HAVE A BALANCE OF POWER DUE TO WEAK-POINTS VS STRONG-POINTS AND BOTH SHARE NO.3 POSITION. if anyone has facts and figures that we can all confirm from reliable sources, please challenge me, but not with stories and claims about a country which produces 1,000 weapons and buys 50 for its own military then its citizens think all the 1,000 belongs to their military power forgetting that weapon manufacturers in south africa are mostly private owned commercial profit making companies who export most of their hardware. 99% of people who are writing these rankings did not go to military institutions to study war history from world war I to the current war in syria. it takes a good and balanced knowledge of how to combine land, air and sea power to win a war, how the quality and practical experience officer's in command can determine the result of a war, how terrain is vital, order of battle, national war doctrine, and ability to rapidly increase military strength in time of challenge to a new level beyond what is openly known to the rest of the world. war history has shown how special factors turn the tide in many wars and the country that thought it was stronger actually lost the war or faced a stalemate due to a balance of power they ignorantly did not research into before going to war. i will like to end my contributions to this topic by saying that the british and american officers/weapons system analysts i spoke to and work with, have repeatedly emphasized that nigeria has a hidden ability to stalemate a war with any medium power in the world like brazil, portugal, south africa, mexico, syria, etc. they say it is a country you attack and end up in a long war unless you are a big power like the USA, south korea, ukraine, israel, UK, china, india, etc. goodbye everyone, i will no longer contribute unless i read a technically sound posting that represents the view of many experts conclusion, not somebody's personal opinions from their bedrooms. please if i sound rude or proud/arrogant, show me mercy and forgive me, thanks. |
you want to joke with algeria ? south africa is NOT the main supplier of algeria's weapons, most of her weapons are russian made. algerian airforce is reputed to train combat pilots heavily, that is why it has 73 albatross trainer/attack jets to ensure intensive and regular training, it can afford it, algeria is one of the major oil and gas rich countries of the world. its has about 100 total of MIG 29 upgrades and SU-30 Flankers which are superior to american F15, and over 150 helicopters including 35 attack helicopter gunships, and its pilots are reputed to be very well trained which made libya's gadaffi always fear to war against algeria. which african country has such a powerful airforce? not even south africa, only egypt. the heavy tanks and armoured fighting vehicles of algerian army is numbered in several thousands and well maintained by algeria's oil wealth. south africa is not as strong as algeria, don't forget that infantry men's fighting spirit is very vital in combat, ask the french military to tell you the natural fighting spirit of an algerian soldier, they are the toughest in the arab world, read their army's history and warrior tradition, they hardly retreat in combat. south africans are not great fighters of modern wars, not zulu spear or inkatha stick/clubs/machetes war, i mean modern combat. south africa is living on past glory of the white man's era, it is gone, and the military of south africa is not as strong now as in the apartheid days. the men dont have the kind of personal competence nigerian army has, the nigerian officers are trained in USA,Britain,India,Germany and Italy, they dont train in south africa. the nigerian junior soldiers are trained by the officers who return form USA and Europe with first class grade in the British and American military colleges. People under estimate nigeria's military power, it is a nation that keeps secrets about its hidden military capabilities since it began special combat capacity building because of the perceived threat from france over the bakassi land dispute with cameroun. nigerian navy is reputed for recent secret anti-submarine capability which it acquired instead of buying submarines. the so called stealth frigates of south african navy....it is not a battle tested technology yet, never baost of so called new weapons that have not faced good electronic counter-measures in real war, not in the the laboratory. nigerian navy is not a brown water navy for just internal marine creeks warfare. nigerian navy is the first wholly black nation navy to sail a single frigate ship across the equator to the continent of south america to participate in brazil's navy anniversary some few years ago, the true test of any navy is the ability to sail across the equator and return back home without any special support ship or air/land logistic support. nigeria in a state of war will shock many people, it has a strategic military plan to put 90% of its weapons and equipment into full combat operation within 7 days of threat. also try and ask military analysts who know about the world class skills of nigerian army artilery brigades...very deadly marksmen with renowned skill of long range accuracy bombardment, and not antiquated with old howitzers, they operate italian mordern palmaria mobile self propelled artillery. in a global army generals' conference in china 1993, nigeria's chief of army staff general salihu ibrahim simulated a ground battle defense senario and asked world class army generals to simulate an attack to unlock that defensive tactics, all of them could not break into the defensive position he created, they asked him to reveal the attack solution but he refused to reveal it. after that incident the chinese military wrote to the nigerian presidency asking for joint military training programmes for combat knowledge sharing between nigeria and china. has any country invited south african military to display real life combat knowlege? who is ready to face the nigerian army head to head among the soldiers in south africa? respect true experience of many years, the white man respects experience, but a black man does not value experience and that is why he is backward and under-developed. egypt has internal problems, every country has internal problems. britain had IRA attack like boko-haram in nigeria, spain still has basque people attacking from inside like boko-haram in nigeria. any fool that wants to attack egypt now can go ahead and try it, you will see egypt unite to defend themselves and destroy the common external enemy, then after winning the war they will come back and face their internal problems. if it is your family that has internal dispute and then thieves break into your house and you have guns, wont you fight the enemy first and come back to do family quarell later? you too think now? sudan is a country people think is weak. their army has historic combat experience with the british army, and they defeated the british after some time of war. the country is now well eqipped with very latest russian weapons and in large numbers of equipment, they use them in battle for over 20 years of civil war, and the oil wealth of sudan has kept them well trained and well maintained. its airforce fies latest SU-30 Flankers. south africa is manufacturing weapons, yes, but is it factory production that wins a war? argentina manufactures combat aircraft but can it defeat pakistan or north korea ? how many internally manufactured weapons does a producing country buy to equip its military? it matters, ask belgium. numbers matter. what is the quality and fighting spirit of the soldiers who operate the weapons produced in their own home country? it matters, ask libya. south africa has mordern weapons but its numbers in use are too low compared to egypt, algeria, and in some cases nigeria. why do you think america fears china and south korea fears north korea? heavy numbers can be difficult to handle in real war, ask pakistan about india. south africa is living on past glory of the white man's apartheid era which is now over with the black man in control, the usual black man's second class ability has weakened south africa. also note that nigeria researched, developed and built drone aircraft for unmanned air attacks, heavy patrol naval craft, armoured personnel carriers as well. i saw them all with my own eyes during launching ceremonies and combat testing. it produces its infantry light and heavy weapons and nigeria is secretly advancing its nuclear weapons development. any fool that wants to attack nigeria among african countries can go ahead and try. |
