My oga diesel cannot knock your generator ooh, at worst it will kill your injector. I agree the diesel they produce isn't pure put if u give those guyz a little encouragement u will be shocked.

80% of filling stations around the country patronize this local refiners, the only thing is their pdts comes with a lot of dirt
But the generator packed up now, and I have to switch to a new one when I was given a bill running to almost one quarter of the cost of the generator just to fix it. Except if my boys connived with the generator repairer. The engine was filled with water and lots of dirts when I was called to check it. Anyway that was 5 years ago, maybe they have improved the refining process.
Especially in the ND region, most of the filling stations do get their supplies from them. I ensure that I never bought PMS from anyhow filling stations except NNPC as the time I was there.

I agree with you, those guys need more encouragement. Unfortunately, the government will never.

Wait ooh, so from what u are saying, that means we should be buying fuel at N230/litre presently. The govt is subsidizing the difference abi.

Ok.....give this ogharra boys that same CRUDE oil , they will provide PMS at N100/l , this Niger delta boys are doing it wella. And mind u a barrel of crude =160litres = 42us gallons.

The science of crude processing is simple.

The locally refined petrol and diesel are not good at all. Those guys still need more modern technology to make the separation better and cleaner. Few years ago, the diesel I used to get from those guys knocked the generating set at my project site in Yenagoa.

You understand my sentiment very well. Hope is never a strategy. All I have seen are people hoping Dangote will do this or that, they have forgotten it's a private company with foreign investors who invested in dollars.

Last year our CBN used 38 billion dollars to keep the naira rate stable, our current fx reserve is 43 billion USD. Investors won't invest in the Dangote refinery if they don't think the profits will outsell inflation and cover FX risk to an extent. For that to happen whatever comes out of that refinery won't have any subsidized price. All I will say is do the maths.
Aside creating employment; Dangote's refinery is here to make money. The investors will make their money first before thinking of any other things. It will not even reduce the price of petrol or diesel when they start in full.

Like @Gonfreecss said , hope and fairy tales.... that refinery isn't owned by dangote alone, the money blocks in this country own huge shares and would stop at nothing to ensure they reap max. Profit. Let us pray he will sell below N135/litre.

Normally with local production ,we shouldn't but fuel more than N80/litre. Reason being that this my guyz in warri that cook diesel don't sell it above N40/litre, without any loan from govt or real technical know how. Yes they steal the CRUDE but even if u sell it to them , am sure cost will still be below N100/litre for diesel ooh. And sure u know diesel cost abt N240/l now. So therfore dangite ref. Shouldnt sell fuel above N80/litre, diesel N100/litre and kerosene N50/litre but alas watch what will happen,Just like the privatization of NEPA.....the difference won't be meaningful.

Shebi we have limestone in Nigeria, why did I buy cement N2500 last month, when I remember vividly around 2004/5 cement was sold for N700 bucks. Compare prices with other countries and see....

Nigeria MAY CHANGE but if u are above 20yrs now, o boy not in our lifetime.

I still dey vex grin
I don't think that needs prayer, bros. Dangote's antecedents have proven that the price of petrol will never come down.
We don't need to rely on his refinery for any meaningful improvement in the economy or price of petrol and diesel. See the curret price of cement!
I laughed some weeks ago when a friend said Dollar will come below N300 when Dangote's refinery starts operation. The same cabal that is controlling this country are the same people behind the refinery. Dangote is just fronting for them. These people mean no good for the citizens of Nigeria.

l agree with you, Lol, personally, there are 3 things l look for in any country l visit, Security of lives and properties, good roads / water and power, once I see this 3 items working efficiently and effectively in any country, l salute them and I rate them higher than whatever country of origin l am coming from, l don't do blind patriotism, if the US ever come to not having those 3 items and I find those 3 items in Togo / Gambia / Lesotho, I will rate them more than than the US, and any government on earth that can't guarantee security of lives and properties, power and general infrastructures for her citizens, is to me a dead and useless country, l have no apology for that country, l don't do blind patriotism grin
I am always wondering when I see Nigerians comparing Nigeria with countries outside West Africa. Nigeria can't be in the same list with Ethiopia, Rwanda and Kenya. We should all accept that nothing is working here.
No constant electricity
No pipe borne water
No security
No good road
High rate of unemployment
World headquarters of poverty
Very diabolical

This is not a country Jo.

Am not a pessimist but if u have travelled out of this country , u would understand that we are zillion years behind in civilisation and development.

Coupled with the fact that we are not even on the road to redemption, we are still wallowing in tribalism, ethnicity and religion. A better country is an abberation . Let's be realistic if u have 10m in a sound system u don't have any business investing in TB when u are still less than 50yrs of age. We are here becos DIESEL(No Nepa) expenses won't allow u make any profit from any business, tankless of ,bad road, police extortion, politics and tribalism.

Abeg I dey vex ooh.....

I have to agree with you. There is no single person living a Christ-like life in Nigeria. Most church goers in Nigeria are hypocrites. The traditional worshippers are better than them.

I don't think GEJ said anything. Nairalanders should leave him alone to enjoy his simple life.

As someone said
LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION!!!
is what u consider when u buy land for investment/sale

From my personal experience :
I bought a plot of land in a dense area in 2017 for 21 million naira resold 14 months later for 43M while I bought in a less developed area ( same zone o ) for 1.5M and am still struggling to sell for 2M two years afterwards .... so land could give u a good ROI depending on where u invested moreover as an investor u should diversify your holdings ... it should not only be on fixed income investments like TB, MMF etc ....my 2cents
You are very correct.

wrong if naira is floated ,it leads to more inflow of dollars from portfolio investors ...currently cos of the fixed regime 30 bn dollars that should have come in to Nigeria is stalled...this sum if unlock can crash the rate by 20 percent...the cbn is the main source of forex cos all international transfer earning is ware house in cbn and use to feed the dollars demand
If Naira is floated today, a dollar will go as high as N380 - 400.
Yes, Atiku has promised to float Naira. Once it is floated, Naira will first fall but as soon as foreign investors come in with their dollars, Naira will appreciate. Dollar may later settle below N350 once the economy is a bit stable and Tbills will be around 9% for 364 days tenor. We should just have it at the back of our mind that TBills may not rise beyond 15%.

Did you eat matoka meal, ugali and kaunga with groundnut soup? Did you eat their tasty/ roasted goat meat brochette & fries? Did you also drink my favorite drink of blended sugarcane with ginger and lime? Did you also visit carwash grin
I used to eat at carwash sometimes because of the meat. It is owned by a Kenyan.
Papyrus, Pilipili, Lemust, Cocobean were my hangout.

Woah they seem contented to me. The bicycle thing won't work here, we are too rough for that cheesy I still wonder why they hate themselves so much. Did you get to meet Tutsis and Hutus, could you tell the difference?
They hate themselves before the genocide. After the genocide, they see themselves as one. They will never introduce themselves as Tutsis or Hutus. They will tell you that they are Rwandans. No street is named after anybody. It is either you see KG 001 Road, KN 42 etc. They so much love and trust one another.
