Ahead of the 2019 general election, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has started making overtures to billionaire business man, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, to come and contest for the presidential election on its platform. Already, the opposition PDP has zoned the presidency slot for the 2019 election to the Northern part of the country, while the National Chairmanship slot of the party has been earmarked for the Southern part. An impeccable insider source exclusively told The Daily Times in Abuja that the party, in a determined efforts to win the 2019 election, has already sent emissary to the billionaire businessman from Kano, who is reputed as the wealthiest businessman in Africa.

When contacted, a source close to Dangote disclosed that his principal is not interested in politics, saying that the PDP should look elsewhere for its candidate. The source, who sought anonymity because of the sensitive nature of the matter, insisted that the stance of the business mogul not to dabble into politics has not changed, saying that any attempt by any political party to woo him for 2019 presidency is a distraction. He said: “The attempt to woo him will fail because Dangote is not interested in politics. He is a businessman to the core and what you just asked me to react to is a distraction. “The PDP should go and look elsewhere for its candidate for 2019 as Dangote is committed to his core vision and desire to invest and create jobs to the people”. What they don't understand. Let's take Atiku biggest support base the Southeast as an example

Yes Atiku would win the southeast, but without the support of the Governors how many votes will he get? The Southeast is Atiku biggest support base that he would be getting the highest percentage of votes. To win the presidential election, Atiku need about 5 million votes from the southeast. To get this about 70% of voters with PVC in the southeast must come out to vote and this would require the governors using there structures and money to actively mobilize for Atiku.

Obiano needed 230,000 votes to win Anambra State, Atiku would be needing 1 million votes from Anambra even though the total number of voters in Anambra last election wasn't up to 400,000.

Investments are done only in viable projects. If PDP governors believe Atiku is viable, only Delta, Akwa ibom, Bayelsa and Rivers can sponsor Atiku.

I feel for Atiku, the man is not getting support from critical stakeholders in PDP but he must behave as if all is well.

The problem with most Nigerians they haven't read the laws of the Federation of Nigeria and mostly talk from their ignorance. Grazing is a private business that by law is regulated by the various states not the Federal Government,agriculture is in the hands of the various States not the Federal Government.

The population of Nigeria in 1979 when law was was enacted was 70 million. Presently, we are about 200 million people. by 2050 UN has projected we would be the 3rd most populated country in the word with a population of 398 million people. Also the land mass of the south is tiny compare to that of the north. Very soon the land in southern Nigeria would not be enough for its indigenes. We haven't even factor in climate change.

Tell me if you are a governor of a southern state would you be allocating land to Fulani herds men knowing these?
