Former Aston Villa star, Gabby Agbonlahor has revealed that players would rather join Tottenham than Manchester United this summer. He said this is indicative of the ‘embarrassing’ state Manchester United is currently in. “If I had the choice to go to Manchester City or Liverpool before Manchester United, it would be a no-brainer,” he told talkSPORT . “But I’d also go to Chelsea before Manchester United and I’d choose Spurs now. “If I was a player now, and I had the choice to go to Spurs or Manchester United, I’m going to Spurs. “I’d even go to Arsenal before Manchester United, they’re a shambles. https://www.completesports.com/agbonlahor-players-now-prefer-to-join-spurs-than-man-united/

Philippe Coutinho has returned to the Premier League, after joining Aston Villa on loan from Barcelona until the end of the season. Villa confirmed Coutinho’s loan move in a statement on their official website on Friday. The Brazil midfield star has now team up with former Liverpool colleague Steven Gerard who was appointed Villa manager this season. The statement read:”Aston Villa have announced the arrival of Philippe Coutinho on loan for the remainder of the season from Barcelona. “The 29-year-old midfielder returns to the Premier League having left Liverpool in 2018 and is Villa head coach Steven Gerrard’s first January signing. “Coutinho spent five years at Liverpool, where he played alongside Gerrard, after joining from Inter Milan. He scored 41 goals in 152 top-flight appearances for the Reds. “A Brazil international, Coutinho has been capped 63 times and represented his country at the 2018 FIFA World Cup. “He enjoyed a season-long loan at Bayern Munich in 2019/20, helping them lift the UEFA Champions League after beating Paris Saint-Germain in the final. “Coutinho will hope to make his league debut for Villa when they host Manchester United on Saturday 15 January.“ https://www.completesports.com/official-coutinho-joins-aston-villa-on-loan-from-barcelona/

Bayern Munich’s Thomas Muller said Barcelona can’t cope with the intensity of Europe’s top sides after the five-time Champions League winners crashed out of the group stages following a 3-0 defeat at the Allianz Arena. Muller opened the scoring, with Leroy Sane and Jamal Musiala also on target, to condemn Barca to a place in the Europa League in the New Year. It’s the first time since 2003-04 that the Catalan club will not be in the knockout stages of the Champions League. “We really tried to get the intensity into the game because I think we’re really massively different to Barcelona, at least in their current state, because of that intensity,” Muller told UEFA.com. “I don’t think they can cope with that intensity. Technically they have it all and they have some really good players, there’s no question about that, but we can deliver this intensity both in possession and out of possession. I don’t think they can cope with the intensity in top-level football.” Barca beat Bayern in the semifinal when they clinched their fourth Champions League trophy in nine years in 2015 but a steady decline, underpinned by a financial crisis, has set in since then. Bayern, meanwhile, have become Barca’s bogey team, beating them 8-2 in the quarterfinal in 2020 and 3-0 in both group stage meetings this season. “I think the difference was certainly very clear, especially in the second half,” Muller said. “We should have scored more goals, but we’re happy. Barcelona are still a big name in the football world, so to beat them 3-0 twice — in Barcelona and again at home — is still satisfying.” https://www.completesports.com/muller-barcelona-cant-cope-with-europes-best/[center]Bayern Munich’s Thomas Muller said Barcelona can’t cope with the intensity of Europe’s top sides after the five-time Champions League winners crashed out of the group stages following a 3-0 defeat at the Allianz Arena.
