TheDevilIsALai:
NSE composite value wiped off $5bn in 6 mths and still falling.

Have you asked who is dumping shares and in return who is mopping them up?

Most of the shares being dumped come from foriegn investors who see the economy as a train heading for dissaster and most of those buying them are northerners. As the foriegn investors dump their shares it creates a ripple effect leading to most southerners dumping theirs which makes the shares cheaper for adamus to buy into.

As for the naira, the strict rules in place are just hogwash since the black marketers who are mainly northerners still have back door access to dollars from the CBN.

This move is meant to cripple southern business and in turn make the northerners control the forex market.

When I say sense is not part of the south una go begin curse una father

Let us give a round of applause to all the omowalabis who voted chain and bondage.

The Federal Government on Tuesday gave a hard knock on states for the outbreak of Lassa fever in the country.

The government which blamed the spread of the disease on “the conspiracy of silence” among states of the federation, also expressed fears that a yet-to-be-identified disease might have surfaced in the country.
The Minister of Health, Prof.Isaac Adewole, made these observations in Abuja during the emergency council meeting on Lassa fever outbreak in the country, According to him, many states in the country had “refused to speak on the Lassa fever disease because it had not been reported in their states.”

He stressed that a few states only responded to the disease after it had been reported in their states. Although Adewole did not mention the states, he identified Ebonyi State as one of those that “did not inform the Federal Government days after it had recorded a case of the disease.”

The Minister also told the council of a patient referred from Ebonyi State to Irrua Hospital in Edo State for treatment who he said “absconded with his relative.”He directed that the patient should be traced and located .

He expressed surprise that many people in the country had refused to believe that the epidemic was real.

queentell:
COMMANDER of the Joint Task Force (JTF), Major General Okunola, who led his troop to inspect one of the blown up pipelines at Egwa II community in Warri South West, has said the Army will hold community leaders in whose domain such bombing took place responsible for any act of sabotage in their area.

He said that the Federal Government would do all it can to bring the saboteurs of national assets to book as they were already closing in on the criminals.

Okunola said henceforth, security agencies would enforce extant law banning the use of outboard engines with 200 HP and above.

He said the Federal Government would not condone any act of sabotage in the country adding that the act was not only criminal, but, also, capable of undermining national security.

The commander pleaded with government officials and community leaders to give JTF and other security agencies in the region useful information that would lead to arrest of the perpetrators for prosecution.

He said “the pipeline was blown three days ago. We are going to fish out those responsible. It was a massive sabotage and critical to national assets. There is no way we will fold our hands and allow perpetrators to get away with it.

“We do not have our men deployed in the area; that was why they had the opportunity to do it.”

It's unfortunate that we just have to look back given the present situation of our economy. The situation has been brought about by GEJ's failure to save during windfall from oil sale of average of $100 a barrel. He instead reduced foreign account fromm $44bn in 2011 to $29bn in 2015. The question is, what did he do with the $15bn difference and the excess dollars earned in that period?

Can any supporter of GEJ sincerely answer that what he 'achieved' commensurates with what we earned?

The hardship of today is a result of poor decisions of years past.

I don't envy PMB and his team at all. They inherited a hemorrhaging economy at a time oil price is crashing on daily basis.
look at him, hypocrite..you are quick to blame gej ,is he the only man in power then? what happened to the governors who refused to save for the rainy days like noi told them to.
what did the governors do with their excess crude cash? today they are all debtors especally all apc states and yet u choose to blamd gej.

this is uncalled for at this critical stage of the country trying to recover from the brutality of corruption and if CNN or any other organizations or individual has an axe to grind with the president, he should come out of anonymity, to hide under the guise of journalism and incite violence against the state, by the way, who even made the US and the EU the standard of the world and then refer to them as international community?
