There are lots of lessons in this touching story the most basic being a very common disability to control anger. In moments of anger people could do in a spilt second what it would take forever to reverse. Fleeing the dock on hearing the verdict was a display of extreme fear and hopelessness and may be a belated remorsefulness. Maryam could have been saved all this by herself had she managed to take full control of her emotions when the deed was done. This should be a lesson in anger management as much as it should be a lesson in parenthood. Most parents have the tendencies to deny their children the correct values of life by not supervising their moral and ethical development to function properly. May Allah SWT make it easy for the convict and both families.
