Wow I loved all the Strike Back seasons... Can't believe it's back. I never liked war action films or series but Strike Back changed my point of view. Glad to know it's still watchable.

The Jon Snow image might be a spoiler, true. It's definitely something we didn't know from any of the previews or promos... But I was happy to see even a bit of ep. 10 and I thought you guys would too. Not like I dropped any major plot twists or anything. Just gave us a little something to look forward to.

@ topic Was looking through GOT on imdb and saw some real life pics of the actors.. Just realizing most of them are from London/UK. Wow. Only few Americans if at all. I guess because the English have such cool accents that go so well with the medieval theme of the series.

OK, that it might be silly to you does not make it silly.

An artist ranting on Twitter using his personal handle is not a new thing. But when a worldwide organization uses its elevated position to 'banter' with an artist it's not very respectful. I call it stooping low and MTV Base should have been neutral not making jokes. Yeah, it was funny but underlying elements show our artist is being dissed. Take it or leave it. Artists need to be encouraged and if Burna Boy seemed disgruntled, they should simply have ignored his comments. Now their response is making it blow out of proportion.

MTV Base are maddd for dissing Burna Boy!!! Now it really looks like the snub was deliberate. Never dreamed MTVB will go as far as responding to some artist's rant in such a manner. Unprofessional and hateful!! Ugh I could just spit right now if I saw the person who typed that Twitter message...

I try to avoid 'emergency' projects ie the ones they want you to finish in 8 hrs, or 2 days etc. Unless they're paying you for the short notice. Getting to do a job in less the time than normal, should be paid better don't you think.

I hope we can learn to avoid the trickish employers. Those who give hefty tasks at low rates and who want speedy jobs again at low rate. In this day and age you have to value your skill. Keep it up guys, you all rock!

Wow he's one of my fave Naija artists, well you can't live for awards or recognition. Just do your thing. So many didn't get nominated. It's hard to make top 5 or even 10 in your chosen industry. And let's face it Burna Boy's music is not mainstream, it's a bit unique and doesn't have universal appeal. He's still one of the best we have though.

Honestly, I think it's you, not the show. No offence.

All season long, I have been able to empathise with characters and see through their eyes. That why they show what is happening to them and the decisions they make.

Take stannis for example. As disgusting as his actions were, I understand why he did it because I can connect with him. This connection only came that episode that Jon left for hardhome and was not there previously because of lack of proper screen time.

Even Jaime that was the bad guy previously is now a not-soo-bad bad guy.

This season is more of stories than action honestly. No huge character has even died. Episode 8 was the only action episode we got so far this season

I guess I'm hard to please...but the consensus around some circles is the GOT s. 5 left much to be desired. Let's just say (and someone did say) that the Hardhome episode saved the whole season. I'm not going to lie, GOT is very watchable but when you compare it to what they should have given us and what we did get, the season as a whole didn't meet (my) expectation.

Still looking forward to the finale though

That was exactly my point. Just as if they led us on with a promise of some good plotting, then just slam us in the face with an unpredictable cliffhanger scene.

To each his own, true. More are preoccupied with the hotness or otherwise of the scantily clad heroines, but I can't begrudge them their eye candy

As to understanding the characters, I feel we never got to see inside their heads. We just see things happening to them, but we aren't allowed to truly experience it through their thoughts and words. Tyrion gets abducted and comes before Dany. They form a kind of connection but it's based on a very scanty convo with the lamest dialogue I've seen Tyrion have with another character in the series.

Sansa is practically defiled on her wedding night but apart from her looking like she'd swallowed nails, I don't really feel her pain. Basically, I'm indifferent.

The only real emotion I felt was when Shireen was burned.

The series was all about action, and not just the battle scenes at Hardhome etc, but the fights: Dorne with the Sand sisters, and Jorah's fights at the arena etc. That part about Game of Thrones I liked, such as the 'intrigue' and back-stabbing was absent this season. Sometimes I like the melodrama that comes with betrayal, jealousy etc. Though we had a taste of it when Cersei threw her son's wife into prison lol.

Just saying, the storytelling is wearing thin as the seasons go by. I feel like I've just been through 5 episodes, not 9 or 10. But then again it might be just me.

Funny how they ended up making me feel nothing for the characters this season.

Tyrion was merely a prop, he really didn't do anything.

Jon Snow as always was painted as the white knight in shining armor. But I liked him better when he was a low-down sneak pretending to be one of the Wildlings.

Arya is just plain annoying with that same expression she has all the time.

Sansa is still just 'finding herself'...she's not three dimensional yet and it's getting boring.

Cersei of course always has that same aura of knowing she's going to be around in the series for a looong while, so she acts exactly the way she's been acting since Season one.

Stannis showed some spark to the series but never really got enough face-time to give a meaty performance.

Jaqen H'ghar was the most wasted character. He was so cool and mysterious in the past but now his same-same persona is bordering on lame.

Dany...I don't even want to go into what I think of that character in season 5. Let's not be too preoccupied with 'shiny' things that come with this series.

I could go on and on. But with just ten episodes and so many actors, it's tough for the directors to really make us understand any of the characters. This wasn't so in season 1-4. Producers should focus on giving us more story and maybe less action in the coming series. Some substance over style is always nice.

I think Ned Stark was the only truly honourable character. He was just too transparent and gullible.

Oh well not really rooting for any one character this season. Just having fun. Apart from the killer battles and beautiful special FX, season 5 was pretty lame on character development.

House Targaryen had no right to Westeros,but they conquered it. Now its left to them to make right of what they conquered. There have been great kings and bad ones, and mad ones too. But over 300 years, there have been more than 5 wars under Trag rule, Aerys ruined any chance of making afresh, and based on Hobbesian Theory, the Rebel's had every right to rebel. So House Targaryen were conquered by House Baratheon. You can argue that the Iron Throne was made by Aegon I or that he was the one who united Westeros, so then Targs should rule, but they were conquered. Therefore the throne belongs to Stannis. Daenerys can only reconquer it. Oh and conquering doesnt have to be a war, it could be that the people just accepted Targ rule back, that's still reconquering. Renly had no claim to the throne as long as Stannis lives.

Well Targaryens do have conquests in their blood. They ruled for hundreds of years and if not for the inbreeding which brought rise to madness in the family...um they'd still be in power. I'm just saying I support Targaryen rule more than Baratheon I mean seriously none of the Baratheon brothers are fit to rule. Robert was a drunk and woman freak, Renley was ahhh...Renley and Stannis is a daughter killer. So let's not go into what throne belongs to who. Lol it won't matter when the whitewalkers arrive

Renly was a traitor, and was proposing treason, and although the price was death, Stannis regrets what he did.

People forced him to claim the throne. He was well loved and they felt him more charismatic than Stannis. If not Renley wasn't that ambitious. He just had powerful friends who wanted him at the top ie the House of Flowers.

Know your history..... she has beef with Meryn Trant from season one when he was Kingsguard during the time her father was killed. He most probably killed her sword teacher too (Syrio).

Also he was one of the names on her 'list' of back then. So that's why she got sidetracked when she saw him.

I like your blog, very neat and functional. Makes visitors enjoy your posts when the set up is so easy on the eyes.

My only suggestion is about the food pics, if you can make the visuals more stylized. Because our home dishes are unique we need to make them look more appealing in photos. So maybe you could use a better camera or try some nice presentation of the dishes. All said and done, great blog and thanks for the rock bun recipe, that was awesome.
