calamitous:
Hey guys I need your help regarding this:

My girlfriend and i weren't on talking terms for a while, six months to be precise, but last week she started talking to me all of a sudden and we kinda shared one or two mutual feelings that led, to sex.

But while she was about to leave, I kind of saw some drugs in her bag, when I asked her the purpose of the drugs she replied that they were for infection.

Meanwhile she previously told me that same morning that she needed some money to threat virginal infection. But one occurent led to one another that made me to suspect her only purpose for showing up was to infect me with HIV or some other STDs.

I don't know what to do regarding this issue but I'm planning on dealing with her if i get to find out she infected me with any STD on purpose...

Need advice guys and girls.

RomanceRe: She Left Me For A Medical Doctor And Now Wants A Second Chance by airbrush: 7:47am On Nov 27, 2019
drlance:
She kept lying about this guy who happened to be a medical doctor, I am unemployed but sell phone accessories and do mini importation on the side but doing my Masters.

It happened that one time she told me she was to travel to Asaba to meet her family members, on hearing this I was happy and looked forward to talking to them.

After spending the night at my place I put her in a bus to Asaba, she didn't pick my calls till the next day.

The next day she posted an outing pic of herself in an eatery I didn't see it as anything but it's the next one that broke me.

A guy took a picture of her with her phone while backing a glass door so I could take that he wore a blue shirt I called that day and when I asked playfully to talk to the family members she asked me "what kind of talk is that ?"

Not long from then I got tagged in a picture on her wall on Facebook, low and behold it was a selfie of her and the Medical doctor in blue shirt and the caption "I love you forever, my personal person" someone she said I shouldn't worry about but he is asking her out, that she knew months before meeting me. She was supposed to be away for 2 days and ended up coming back after a week.

On seeing this I called to demand for an explanation if they were related, she sighed cut the phone on me and didn't pick my calls ever again.

She left me for a Medical Doctor!!

One month later now she calls me out of the blue to ask for 2k to buy foodstuffs. Which I gave without saying a word.

Fast forward to today I got a job with the government and relocated to Abuja.

She called me later shedding crocodile tears and begging for me back.

People of Nairaland, what would you have me do? What will you do if you were in my shoes? It's not my fault she didn't see the bigger picture.

She isn't the first woman that has left me for a better person.

shedding crocodile tears
why asking wen you have already answered your question!

one question why doctors specialize in chopping young girls left ,right, center huh??

i have 2 friends who are medical doctors .women is their main job while medical profession is the side job!!

Car TalkRe: Negotiating Car Price With A Dealer: Top Tips To Know by airbrush: 9:11am On Nov 26, 2019
Carmartng:
How To Negotiate A Car Price With A Seller: Negotiating Like A Pro

Chances are that you have had to negotiate item prices a couple of times in your life. Negotiating is part of our daily life. The seller wants their item to sell at a profitable price, you want to buy at the lowest reasonable price. So, you both start haggling back and forth until you find a mutually satisfactory bargain. Negotiating is involved in every trade, even when you want to buy a car.

For brand new cars, there might not be enough space to negotiate prices. There is always a standard market price or something like it. If you want to buy used cars, however, you are on fertile ground for price negotiations. You can even find used cars for sale online or offline.

So, do you want to buy a used car without being overcharged? Do you want to know how to handle car price negotiations like a pro whether it is your first time it not? Well, you have come to the right place.

Do your homework thoroughly: Research like crazy
This is the very first step for obvious reasons. You want to have an idea of what car you to buy its price range before you walk to a car dealership. Otherwise, they will eat you raw, eat your money raw, all with smiling faces. Don't blame them though. Just like you, they are trying to get the best price they can get from the car sale.

Visit websites that have used cars for sale. Research on different car models and their prices. Most preferably, the particular brand of a used car that you want. This independent research gives you an idea of what to expect.

When you're going to buy your car at the dealership, go there like someone that knows their onions.

Do your fieldwork thoroughly: Visit different dealerships
This always works.

Visiting different dealerships would help you get the best deals. In fact, If you can even drop hints about how you have been to other dealerships and how you might return to them if you're not satisfied with the car price your current dealership is offering. The negotiator would then be trying to beat the prices of dealerships.

Stay level headed. Don't fall for sweet words
After you have done your research and are well armed with all the knowledge and facts that you need, the last thing you need is for your emotions to ruin things for you.

The car sales representative or the car seller (or whoever you're negotiating with) would definitely try to sweet talk you into getting the car at their own price. It is their responsibility. However, it is also your responsibility to remain calm and focused.

If you did your research well, there's most likely nothing they would tell you about the car that you didn't already know. Stick to the facts of your research.

Know when to make your purchase
There are times when you would most likely get the best deals. This is when you should visit a dealership to buy used cars. You can also buy new cars at these periods but remember I said earlier that there usually isn't much to negotiate on new cars.

For instance, dealerships often have timely sales goals to meet. It could be in every four months, 6 months or annually. Visiting them towards the end of these periods could increase your chances of getting better deals.

Also, buying on a weekend is out of it. During workdays, most dealerships often have fewer customers. So, when you visit on a workday you would have more time to convince the negotiator.

Negotiate the price in bits
The car seller would want you to negotiate the total price. You should not allow this. Negotiate every stated price every step of the way. This may take a lot of time but it would be worth it eventually.

Look out for imperfections
Inspect the car thoroughly. Especially if you're buying a used car, check for scratches, damages, or just about anything that gives you a hint about the past of the car.

You may be asking yourself, "why do I need to look for imperfections on the car I want to buy?"

Well, doing this gives you a bargaining chip. Discovering damages like that would help reduce the perceived worth of the car. Hence, reducing the car price and allowing you to be able to negotiate some more.

You could even take it a step further and go along with a professional car mechanic. Have them inspect the car and report whatever isn't perfect about the car. That's some extra bargaining chip for you.

Final words
At first, this could be quite intimidating for you, especially if you're new to this. However, if you stick to these guidelines you shouldn't have any problems getting a cheap car price. You just have to be confident. Even if you aren't, act like it.

What next?
Get along now and start searching for your dream car. Also, when you intend to buy a car online, you might not have enough space for price haggling, but you are most likely to get a cheap price online.

Don't forget to drop your questions or inquiries in the comments section below. I am more than eager to attend to you.

PoliticsRe: Adams Oshiomhole Urges APC Governors To Implement New Minimum Wage by airbrush: 9:04am On Nov 26, 2019
prof2007:
The All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, has pleaded with all APC state governors to implement the N30,000 minimum wage and the consequential adjustments. Oshiomhole made the plea on Monday in Jos at the Federal Government- Progressives Governors Forum parley in Jos.

“As progressives, let us be the first to pay the new national minimum wage and not just the wage but also the consequential adjustments arising from it. Already, there are some proactive progressive governors that have taken steps to address this.

“I plead that you give this a priority, because when other governors are fighting whether or not to pay, you will say that progressive governors have paid. Where there is will, there will certainly be a way,” he said.

The APC national chairman also called on the APC governors to support border closure by the Federal Government. He said that the nation’s borders should remain closed until neighboring countries follow the protocols of fair trade.

Oshiomole in an interview with journalists, also lent his support to financial autonomy for local governments in the country. He said that local government autonomy was not negotiable. According him, just as the Federal Government does not control a state governor on how to manage his money, so should the state governors allow the local governments to function.

He added that local governments should be allowed to operate the same way states operate with the Federal Government exercising oversight function.

“Local governments should be autonomous, but autonomy doesn’t mean there should not be oversight. The same way the Federal Government goes after a state Governor that breaks the financial rules, the same way state governors should go after a local government that mismanages revenue that accrue to it,” he said.

RomanceRe: My Sister Is About To Marry An Osu Man, About To Commit A Serious Taboo by airbrush: 3:06pm On Nov 24, 2019
TheSkyIsBlue:
My Sister Is About To Commit A Serious Taboo All In The Name Of Marriage

Hello Nairalanders!

Please ignore any typographical or grammatical error. I just want to pour it out the way it is in my heart.

I am seriously confused and worried about what is happening in my family and I will appreciate your candid advice.

There is this guy my sister has been in a relationship with for over seven years now. so he actually asked her hand in marriage and decided to come see my parents for introduction, about some months ago. My family decided to take their time to find out more about the guys family background as is required in Igbo tradition.

After several questions asked, my family came to find out that the guy is an Osu (an outcast). On knowing this, everybody in my family told my sister to cut ties with him and discontinue the relationship because it is a big taboo to get married to an Osu in my place . If you do, no family member or friend will attend your wedding or even have anything to do with you again.

But my sister refused to listen to anybody claiming she really loves the guy, that they have been together for a very long time and that she is not getting younger anymore (mind you, she is in her early thirties). Everybody (my parents and extended family members) tried to talk her out of it but she still didn't listen.

After much pressure and her continues insistence, my dad decided to give them his blessings, although against his wish (my dad is actually not really deep into tradition). Now the guy has done all the traditional rights and paid for her dowry. Their wedding is coming up soon.

But the problem now is, according to tradition and from what I heard, if she was allowed to go with the guy without my dad giving them his blessings, the stigma would have just been on her and she alone would have been considered Osu, since she insisted to continue with the marriage. But now that my dad has given them his blessings, it is considered that all of us (her siblings) will also have that link of Osu too. Except if she decide to put an end to the relationship and discontinue with the wedding, which I don't think my sister is ready to do.

I am really worried and depressed about it, cause I don't want anything that will affect me tomorrow when I want to get married just because of my sister's mistakes.

I will really like to get opinions and sincere advice especially from those that are familiar with tradition, cause I'm seriously bothered. Thanks!
Osu in the year of our LORD 2019

una get time oooo

PoliticsRe: Ondo 2020: Ali Olanusi Reveals Why APC May Lose Governorship Election by airbrush: 2:50pm On Nov 24, 2019
CapitalHYC:
Ondo APC Has Gone Comatose Under Akeredolu— Olanusi
Chief Ali Olanusi, a stalwart of the All Progressives Congress (APC) was a deputy governor under the Labour Party (LP). He was also in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). He spoke with GBENGA AKINFENWA on the status of the party in Ondo State, among other issues.

What are the effects of politicians changing political parties?

I Would say the idea of politicians moving from one political party to another is partly responsible for the slow development in the country. This is because where there is no party stability, programmes and government policies are sometimes adversely affected, especially at the level of implementation and continuity.

But I must quickly add that those elected into power, especially in the Executive arm, are the ones guilty of this occurrence. Once they get into power, they turn 360 degree from who they were before they were elected, and begin to alienate themselves from party leadership and stalwarts. As soon as they get to the top, they change like a chameleon. And because of their actions, people are forced to be inconsistent, as what they see is different from party ideology or expectations.

In Ondo APC, our governor, Rotimi Akeredolu doesn’t recognise any party structure. For the first time in my political life, I am seeing something totally different. It was when Akeredolu became governor that the political party that brought him into power went comatose. Up till now, they have not been holding ward meetings in all the 203 party wards of Ondo State. But if you don’t meet at the ward, local government and state levels, where would issues affecting the party and state development be addressed?

What measures did the state APC take, when it discovered Akeredolu was not toeing party line?

He has killed the party in the state. All state party structures and organs are dead. That is why no meeting of any of the organs holds in the state. It is no longer secret that Akeredolu and his group romanced another party, the Action Alliance (AC). He is vigorously promoting and funding the party. That was the party he used to sponsor candidates against APC in the last general election.

We made efforts to notify party leadership at the national level. We wrote more than five letters to that effect, and copied Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, Chief Bisi Akande and others, but no action was taken. The only action they took was the meeting they held with us at Heritage Hotel about five months ago, where they asked for reconciliation. We all agreed that the governor should finish his first term, after which he should leave.

What is going on in Ondo State is very unfortunate. It makes elders like me regret going into politics. When we joined politics, it wasn’t to acquire wealth, but to serve the people and the country.

Are you regretting going into politics?

Yes, because this is not how we met things. The current situation in Ondo is so messy, in that of all the 36 states of the federation, Ondo State ordinarily should not be at this level of under-development. It is an irony that this was the place (Owo), where Action Group was formed.

The defunct party was a vehicle used to revolutionise development in the old Western Region. Is it not sad that the present administration, whose head hails from the same Owo, cannot build on this initiative? How would Baba Ajasin feel in heaven, seeing that the successor from his ward is not buying into the challenges the formation of Action Group in Owo pose for the state’s development?

If we were so backward and had no future prospect, Baba Obafemi Awolowo would not have left his state to come and launch Action Group in Owo.
Ondo State APC is in a very terrible situation. I told those sent from the national body that, if election were conducted today in Ondo State, I don’t know which party would win, but it would definitely not be APC. If things do not change, I can assure you that APC cannot win election in Ondo.

I was PDP chairman for six years. And every month, we held caucus meeting, where we had the cabinet, governor, deputy governor and party leaders in attendance. But there is no caucus now in Ondo APC; even the wards are not meeting.

What is the way out of this mess, as you put it; is your group, Unity Forum planning to provide an alternate platform?

I’m a man of peace. So, we are just trying to patch things for the governor to finish his first term and leave. And this is the Unity Forum’s stand, where I am the leader. Don’t forget that the forum, which spreads over the 19 councils in the state, controls more than 70 percent APC members in the state.

You and Akeredolu are from the same North Senatorial District. If Akeredolu were denied a second term, wouldn’t the district have shot itself on the leg?

The situation on ground now is about who will play the game according to the rules of the land, carry the party along and embrace those who are not his party members for development. All the industries established by Ajasin are dead, while all those started by Agagu were abandoned. So, the issue now is not about zone. The government is for all and not about a zone. The Ondo people are suffering, irrespective of where they come from.

Even with the power of incumbency, your group will still defeat him?
Yes. We won’t allow what happened the last time. We are waiting for them. The election was rigged in Akeredolu’s favour at the primary, with people who are not even party members. We are going for direct primary this time around. That will make it difficult for anyone, either from London or Abuja to rig primary. This is the first time Ondo people would not pick their leaders. This man was forced on us by people in Abuja, but see what is happening.

What does the future hold for Ondo APC?

The future is, one with God is a majority. May God minister to the conscience of APC leadership at the national level, so that they can do what is right.

That is what can ensure the party’s re-election in the state in 2020 governorship election. And this can only be achieved by shutting out Akeredolu. If all the things we demanded at the Heritage meeting are done, I can assure you that APC will do well. Before Akeredolu came, APC gave Buhari over 54 per cent in 2015 election, when PDP was in power at the state and federal level

PoliticsRe: Lawan: Senate Will Act Expeditiously On Presidential Requests by airbrush: 9:54am On Nov 22, 2019
Digitiminimi:
The President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan, on Thursday said any request from President Muhammadu Buhari would make Nigeria a better place, and such would be acted on “expeditiously.”

Lawan spoke when the Chairman, Presidential Advisory Committee Against Corruption, Itse Sagay visited him in his office on Thursday.

Sagay had called for the timely passage of the Special Criminal Court and other similar bills, saying such would help the anti-corruption war and ensure that the fight was successfully won with speed and energy.

He also appealed to the Senate to consider the confirmation of the acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ibrahim Magu.

Responding, Lawan said, “This is a new Senate. Going by our rules and I believe that goes for the House of Reps too, any issue that was not concluded in the last National Assembly, will have to start all over again.

“So, as far as we are concerned, those bills will have to come again and start to go through the process from the very beginning.

“We are ready. In fact, we are in a haste if those bills are ready for us to start working on them.”

Lawan said there was no request before the Senate for the confirmation of the acting chairman of the EFCC.

“I want to assure you that any request that comes from Mr President is a request that will make Nigeria a better place in terms of appointments or legislation.

“When such request comes, the Senate will act expeditiously to ensure that we play our part in the confirmation or passing of legislation appropriately.”
