Politics › Re: APC Asks Security Agencies To Investigate Seyi Makinde’s Role In Kogi Election by airbrush: 9:26am On Nov 21, 2019 |

In what seemed to be a new twist, the Oyo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, has called on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), the Nigeria Police, as well as other security agencies to launch a thorough probe into the roles played by Governor Seyi Makinde before, during and after the last Saturday’s gubernatorial election in Kogi State.
APC stated that this will help to unravel the real culprits of the series of violence which were reported in the exercise.
Recall that Gov. Makinde was attacked in Lokoja the Kogi State capital on the eve of the election by some hoodlums.
The APC made it known that it was seriously worried by the cases of violence reported in parts of Kogi on the course of determining who would govern the Confluence State in the next four years.
Makinde should also be investigated by the EFCC over the government money spent on the ill-fated project, the APC said.
The party in a statement made available to journalists on Wednesday said, “As reactions follow allegations ad counter allegations of election violence sponsorship among political gladiators in Kogi state over the conduct of the last Saturday gubernatorial and Kogi West Senatorial re-run elections, we stand to condemn every act osaf violence, incitement and vote buying which might have been recorded. The fact remains that no life of any individual is worth the votes being sought at polls by politicians.
“In the case of Kogi, among those to be investigated is Gov. Seyi Makinde who was on a desperate mission to influence the emergence of the PDP candidates in persons of Sen. Dino Melaye and Mr. Musa Wada. The Oyo state governor’s clandestine hatchet job in Kogi was blown few hours to the polls when a team of security agents had to burst into a hide out where some disgruntled elements had gathered to plan evil ahead of the elections.
“Immediately this happened, Gov. Makinde raised the alarm that he was attacked in a hotel. The same governor commissioned his media handlers, he deliberately left in Ibadan, to twist the story and thus mislead the public. The truth of the matter is that he (Makinde) was the one who assembled vote buyers, miscreants and other shady characters for the purpose of giving out briefs and incentive to all those contracted for some evil plots. Sources have it that the exercise later took place in another location where cash running into billions of naira, taken from Oyo State treasury, was doled out.
“This was to be corroborated by the innocent revelation made by a popular socialite who has always been on hand as a mercenary to the PDP in the South West since the days of Aregbesola vs Oyinlola imbroglio in the State of Osun. The video clip of the mindless confession which apparently indicted Gov. Makinde is currently available on virtually all social media platforms.
“Without mincing words, keen watchers have come to realize that Makinde’s political history cannot be said to be free from damning evidence of violence sponsorship, financial inducements and propaganda. Back home, he is now in a dilemma as to how to fulfill all the promises made to a known criminal element and his army of urchins who he used to hijack the mandate which he is enjoying at the moment”.

Politics › Re: Jackson Ojo: Buhari Will Handover To Northerner In 2023 ― APC Chieftain by airbrush: 5:39pm On Nov 20, 2019 |
Igbo: A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Chief Jackson Ojo, has advised the South to forget their dream of producing the President of Nigeria in 2023, saying at the expiration of his tenure, President Muhammadu Buhari would handover to another northerner.
Ojo stated this yesterday in Abuja in a chat with our correspondents. The APC chieftain while counselling the South to build a common front ahead of the next election cycle noted that South lacks the capacity to politically engage the North in a battle of supremacy.
In his words, politicians of South-West extraction currently agitating to replace President Buhari in 2023 lack the visibility and national acceptance to make good their dream saying, “who is there in the South that has the national clout? There are some people in the South-West that are making noise today, wanting to be President.
“The truth is that they cannot be President. That is it! Mark my word! APC Presidential candidate in 2023 will emerge from the north. The South-West will be given the Vice Presidential slot. And if the PDP takes its candidate from the South, then they have given the opportunity to the APC to win again. The south does not have the political capacity to fight the North.”
Justifying his reason for rating the south so poorly, Ojo, who doubled as Coordinator, Yoruba Youth Alliance added that the north has since left the south behind in terms of togetherness and unity; factors he claimed would determine who gets the Presidency in 2023
He continued: “The people of the South are agitating to be President of Nigeria in 2023. Is it by mere verbal expression? The North has 19 states including the FCT. The South has 17. There is no political synergy between the South-East, South-South and South-West. Each of them is standing independently as a pillar that cannot be moved but when you go up north, you will always get the traditional bloc vote because there is a unifying factor among them.
“Religion can unify them and they have leaders that can unify them. In the north, you have the Northern Governors Forum, the Northern Senators Forum and all that. Do we have these unifiers in the South? South-South is standing on its own, same with South-East and South-West. In the South, there is a multi-dimensional dichotomy, politically that is. Such a dichotomy can never be found in the North.
“Let us not deceive ourselves. What is the voting capacity of the North? The voting capacity of the South-South and the South-East cannot withstand the voting capacity of Kano, Katsina and Kebbi states.”
There are agitation by Southern politicians, particularly from the South-West and South-East for the zoning of the APC Presidential ticket at the expiration of President Buhari’s second tenure in 2023, with the likes of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and Tunde Bakare being seen as likely aspirants.

Politics › Re: 8 Implications Of Kogi/Bayesa Elections In Nigeria by airbrush: 10:50am On Nov 19, 2019 |
ENGINEERG: Nigeria, a country endowed by God, would have become one of the best countries of the world. But since her independence, her leadership has been her Nightmare.
In 1999, over 20years ago- Nigeria returned fully back to democracy, but still, the leaders have been terrible.
Democracy, where the will of the people should be the hallmark has been destroyed by power mongers, so Nigeria democracy can be termed as autocracy.
Looking back, we saw the inglorious election of Morris Iwu, but we develop gradually during the time of jega, because we knew our vote counted then. But the recent INEC under Mahmoud has conducted elections that is taking us backward.
2 days ago, the election conducted in Kogi and Bayelsa, has raised eyebrows, because of the Impunity, Rigging, killings , security agencies compromise etc.
Listed below are 8 implications on Nigerians
1. In the future elections, there will be voter A party __
because voting is like wasting our time and risking our lives, because at the End, Power-that-be determines the Winners, people won't come out to vote again
2. Politicians will more take election as war __ because they will always want to march fire for fire..forget about the ceremonial peace accord
3. Thuggery will be more lucrative
Going by the recent elections,I wonder how these thugs and hoodlums that are used are empowered with arms and ammunition, vehicles, and I know they will smile to Bank
4. Many people become hopeless on Nigeria__
It's a fact that, with this show of sham, people become hopeless on having good leaders who can transform our country
5. Good people will run away from politics ---
Yes, I have seen many people who don't want to talk on politics, because its traumatic to them
6. Governors won't bother to perform to be reelected ---
This is true, because if I can't talk on anywhere I can talk on Kogi, it is a place I do visit. I almost cry whenever I visit, but at the end, the Governor won with wide margins..you know more!!!
7. Nigerians won't believe on anyone's Integrity anymore...
Na so o, I know many people who still think they are dreaming , because they believe so much on BUHARI integrity, and wonder what is happening in his era?
8. More Security danger---
Its another implications because in all these elections , the thousands of hoodlums that were empowered won't want to be idle, so they start arm robbery or kidnapping
Add your own too
..God bless Nigeria democracy in nigeria is overit is painful for me a lot of good people gave their lives for this democracy ,fighting the military . now a man who was enjoining Abacha largess as PTF Minister just come in through the window and destroy it . it is very painful as for me i do not use a fart in the mosque what happen to Nigeria but i will advice the youths here to go library and read old newspapers from abacha days to find out how God has been a Nigerian to us all |
