Cultured people do not belittle their nation like we do here everyday. If there are fools amongst Nigerians, definitely not everybody; not me either. The generalisation is wrong. Probably, I am the only MAD person in NL, who is saying that 'SANE' people should change or what? I get shocked. I get embarrassed. I weep for lack of civility, patrotism, passion for this nation. And this has been the problem we are facing till today.

My daily with people makes me confirm that the problem of Nigeria is not just the LEADERS (who are stealing from our treasury daily), but also we the followers. When you see the so-called men-in suit drive their cars on the road to work; when you see okada man ride his bike just like the danfo driver; when you see students cheat in exams; when you see primary school students in nafarious activities; when you see almost everybody cheating the system in one form or the other; when you see crimes commited in holy places, you begin to understand that if nothing drastic is done, Nigeria will disappear into oblivion.

What baffles me is that we travel out (some of you live outside the shores of 9ja), we see how organised other countries are, and we enjoy its civility and tranquility. More often than not, our people are treated with disdain in foreign lands while the foreign people embrace their compatriots as dear brothers/sisters. But Nigerians appear to hate their fellow citizens to death. We appear to embrace all negative things and wear them as our toga. Such that evil triumphs more than good. And anybody condemning it is 'put to death'.

I know this will pain a lot of people because the truth is ALWAYS BITTER. Let me warn, over 90% of things that are palatable to hear are either flattery or sycophancy, intended to deceive. So, I know people will be mad at this. But if you are now, I advise you use this therapy from Thomas Jefferson: "When angry, count ten before you speak; if very angry, a hundred.". It will save us from an unintended war.

It is time we effected a POSITIVE CHANGE IN NIGERIA.

When I was in college, there was this guy I had a mind-'dumbing' crush on. He was beautiful. tall dark and oduduwa like. anyway, I am not used to trying to get guys to notice me, but i really wanted this guy too. well, I aint no ho and I aint gonna wear booty shorts or tight pants just for him. as someone said, the minute you become yourself, he will drop you( but it wouldnt have hurt if he droped me like a rash though, cos rashes cant be dropped easily, still not dropping at all would be best) and I have a tender heart. all i did was be myself and acted like I was the only girl on campus esp Nigerian who did not know his fullname and family village in nigeria. well I guess it frustrated him cos one day I went to lunch in the cafeteria and he came and sat in front of me and you could see he was shy cos he asked his friend to ask me to be his princess and his bride. then he began to talk to me nervously, but stupidity overcame me and I just stared at the door and ate quickly and left. I must have appeared like I didnt like him cos it took another 1 year before he had the nerve to ask his cousin if it was okay to talk to me. and before you knew it he asked me if I would like to have coffee with him. Like a dunce I just smiled and walked away and then his cousin who was good friends with me kept telling me about how he always asked about me. but by then I also had become wiser and found out that he was something of a cassanova and perhaps a walking STD, so I made up my mind he wont add me to the list. Most employees in small and big firms collude with dealers or suppliers to inflate prices when asked by their employers to arrange for furniture, computer equipment, even Xmas gifts & Sallah rams for (corporate) clients, office stationery and ordinary tissue paper. Cost of purchase of buildings are increased at times by a whopping 500%. Hotel bills, petty contracts up to NEPA bills are inflated. COMMITTEES IN CHURCHES AND PASTORS ARE ALSO FULLY INVOLVED IN THIS ACT DURING BUILDING AND RENOVATION PROJECTS. I am fed up with what I see and hear.
