It was loud and fun on the night of the 28th through the morning of the 29th of December, 2008 in Medical Stores Road, Benin City, Edo State when the first ever street jam (I believe) was held. The event was dedicated to peace, love, unity, harmony and all the things that give meaning to life. The Straightstreet, my hood was agog and y'all needed to see the love and camaraderie that was expressed both by neighbors and by visitors. We sent out a message on the event, and it's that the world needs peace, and that even if the politicians and the wicked people do their best to deprive the Earth of peace, the strength of love must and will overcome. Thanks to all my neighbors, the younglings in da neighborhood who conceived this idea and to the many actors, artistes and comics that performed (and were not able to perform ). Many love to each and every one of you, next year's a date for sure. Enjoy some of the pictures I took with ma phone, I for add videos sha, but I'm just going to give a link to one below. . . ![]() http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.showvids&friendID=391080636&n=391080636&MyToken=37b51697-e13f-46f5-b2ea-a8e362fec26e

Dios, what exactly is it about the Babel story that you want explained, seeing that the story is in itself self explanatory? |
Bindex, at least you acknowledge that there is a God, although you claim that he is a wicked God, abi? Yet, even when viewed from the perspective of carnal mortal minds, ancient Israel were a relatively small band of wandering slaves that gained emancipation from the yolk of slavery dating about four centuries. They were a persecuted people and this wicked God stood for them in their years of travails against hostile nations more endowed militarily and population wise, surely you rationality presume this as justice rather than wickedness. No act of wickedness is without a prior action that necessitate the acts of wickedness which you emphasize. Dios, your own position is that you have no idea as to who the creator of the universe is, and you feel that our assuredness of a designer as being this God is pointless to say the least. At least, even you acknowledge a thing created, and any created has a creator and I bet you, that guy is the Jehovah whom we talk about no matter what you might desire to believe. In Acts 17:23, when Paul addressed the creme of scholastic excellence in the city of Athens, he made mention of an alter to "An Unknown God" and postulated quite convincingly too that that one was the Almighty. Perhaps, you acknowledge this being by that appellation, I do not begrudge you, you will have the opportunity to defend your beliefs on the great day of Separation, like we all will. Dudu, you rather have me confused, you believe Jesus to be one very reasonable fellow, yet you deny the very essence of his entire existence aptly elaborated by his own words in the entire 15th chapter of Saint Johns gospel. Here, he shows his relationship with his father whom he clearly identifies as a separate and superior entity. In fact, this particular chapter best sums up the entire purpose of Jesus in the ultimate fulfillment of Jehovah's purpose. I wonder, if you so respect this Jesus individual, why don't you respect he's message? Now this is beyond religion. Having to come into knowledge of the creator is not something that should be trivialized by infantile daring do and perceived infallibility as hearts could indeed be hardened upon contact with a truth. The issues have to do with truth, and believe you me, sooner or later, no matter what any one might do or say, the truth would be revealed like the thread topic states, and those living would see the truth from one end of the earth to the other and those that are asleep in death would be raised to witness this truth. I'm willing to bet that some folks would be mighty glad at believing some of the things that they believe now, and it certainly wouldn't be them who take delight at denigrating the truth. . . |
Jehovah is the God of creation and his ways are just and true, Jesus Christ is the son of Jehovah that was made man to make redemptionfor the atonement of sins of faithful mankind. In this day, the Holy Spirit of God that was moving allover the face of the waters of the earth at the dawn of creation is at the very moment undertaking a similar mission at this time when dusk neareth and those that humble themselves to it's flow and place themselves at the mercy of the Father, believing in the saving grace of Jesus' priceless sacrifice have at least a fighting chance of being saved when the final culmination of this system occurs, whether alive or dead. Satan has been floored in defeat by the resurrection of Jesus, and his strangle hold on helpless mankind is loosening. No amount of fabricated human ideology or philosophy can change that which has been written even before the existence of contemporary man. It is a losing battle that the wicked one faces in these end times and him and his followers know that they have but a short time. It is no surprise to see him engage the faithful in battle on many fronts as even sinful man still exists in the physical. But we know that even in the spiritual, we have a captain that has proven beyond reasonable doubt that all glory, all honour, all power and all authority has been placed at his disposal by the very one who caused all of existence to become. Love and peace to all good peopel and good spirits. . . ![]() |
huxley:Were I to live in Moses's day when the law was the rule, I might have agreed with that statement, but that is the law and Jesus Christ as the fulfiller of the law taught a new covenant to guide God's people. Were Jesus to subscribe to the words of the law, he might have allowed the adultress to get stoned to death, but did he allow it? The answer is no because the spirit of the law is of more significance. That is why he emphasized this in his ministry on earth. The new commandment is love and that is what God in his infinite wisdom endeavored to instill in the consciousness of his chosen people. |
Errmmm, Hux, thanks for the insult, but I got my Bible with me right now and it does not tell me that millions were killed when Pharoah attempted to harm God's people. But I take it that you mean the flood of Noah? What did these millions do that they deserved to be destroyed? Were they innocent of their judgement? The same judgement awaits all those who deny the relevance of the Father in these days. As those millions chose to disregard Noah's warning, are you sure that you are not placing yourself in their situation should the final day come upon mankind in these days? |
Do you know that the Earth is dated to be billions of years old. Taking that into consideration, mankind is just a newbie in the scheme of things as he is no older than 50,000 years. Now, documented history is only about 6,000 years old. So when you take this into consideration, hthe time of the coming might well be thousands of years from today, but at the same time, it might as well be tonight. . . Chris, morality is defined by bible standards. They cannot and are not exclusive, they go hand in hand. |
Someone would start mentioning the wars of cleansing in the old testament as evidence of the barbarity of the creator, but you forget that the ancient Israel nation was a tool in the hand of the Father to cleanse his land from the abominations that were perpetrated by these nations. Blood for blood, as they were wont to sacrifice human lives, so were their lives required of them by the almighty Justce. Yeah, in his own standards too, Jesus' life became a ransom for sinful and fallen man, thus we do not see further bloodshed from the times of Jesus. And mind you, millions were not killed in the flood, just the armies of Pharoah when they attempted to harm God's people. |
No one living individual can attempt to justify the actions of the creator of existence and I would advice anyone not to attempt such. His ways are unfathomable and waaay beyond the grasping of carnal physical rationalizations. There are so many mysteries that guide the workings of the great eternal and mankind with his limited reasoning faculties cannot claim knowledge of all of them. However, we do know that his ways are justified and cannot be questioned. At the fullness of time, all things and the reason behind them would be revealed to mankind and this we know to be true. |
Honestly, the issues is beyond the existence of a hell or any place of torment of whatever sort. The main issue is salvation and how to seek it. Knowing how to identify the reason for existence and how to aspire to the better life promised since the days of un-documented history. And talking about signs, the very fact that one is having some discourse such as this one here is sign enough for any discerning conscious seeker of true worship. The need for a detailed list of end time signs does not arise as even if one were to provide volumes of evidence as to the significance of these times, those that choose not to see would still not see. . . ![]() |
Mankind might not have to wait too long before the final culmination of this system of things occur, the tell tale signs of the days are obvious for all to see. When this event occurs, it's gonna take all unawares. One just gots to keep holding on and endeavor to be strong against the currents of unbelief and apathy that has engulfed the entire inhabited earth. The mercy that we desire for ourselves from the father, we pray that this same mercy would be shown to as many as acknowledge the creator of all existence and his son whom he purposed to carry out the ecclesiastic machinations that would make faithful humanity benefit from his promise of a better life in the system to come. This is one fact that faith has opened to the discerning and for them, no amount of Jesus battery would sway them from the path, even though it be narrow. The day of separation comes, it is left for each individual to determine where he/she would stand. . . |

You know something, I was ruminating over the potential capability of our present senior national team, the Super Eagles and I believe that they could prove to be our most potent attempt at playing in a world cup final. I say this with a caveat, because we all know that when it comes to Nigeria, all things does not always work out the way we expect them to be. Blame it on politics, blame it on sports administration. The present crop happens to be one of the most talented and we are fortunate at this time to have younger internationals excelling at age grade tournaments. Its a good wave for Nigeria at the moment in the men's game, we have a generation of up coming players who have played at the highest level in international age grade competitions, the U17 is in our kitty, and Siasia's lads gallantly lost the gold to an Argentinian team that really didn't dominate the olympic gold medal for the football event. Add these to the fact that some of our senior players have the experience and are mostly involved in machinations of the top European clubs. We are very much aware of the pedigree of the Yobo's and the Uche's. Mikel is beginning to come to his own and erratic as Taiwo has been stereotyped, his performances for Marseille has made him sort of indispensable to his French team. There are countless others who continue to churn out laudable performances in the leagues of Europe and the continents and even Amodu has confirmed that he has at least two to three players per role. Even a few talented home based prove their way into training camps. Yakubu's incident is unfortunate and his consistency as a striker could be sorely missed in the build up to the African championship, but it might be the opportunity that other players need to compete for shirts, all contributing to the competitiveness for places in the team. The nations cup is just about a year away and the world comes to Africa soon after. History beckons on this present crop of players and a serious management of sports in general to sail through. ![]() |
The Eagles of 94 were perhaps the best team ever assembled in the history of Nigerian football. Remember it was a team that started it's build up from 1990, when they won silver against all odds at the nations cup in Algeria. By Senegal 92, the team met a formidable foe in a Ghana squad that boasted names like Tony Yeboah, Abedi Pele, Nii Lamptey etc and we got knocked out for third place. But their day was stil to come. Prior to their 94 world cup heroics, they had actually won the nations cup in Tunisia in style, whetting appetites with their masterful display of total football. their dominance of African football was to such an extent that it was already assumed that retaining the crown in SA 96 was a given, pity, the 'dark goggled' one spoilt that fun for everyone. That team produced the fragments of future national teams who tried in vain to fill the oversized boots left by Westerhof's boys. Trust the big Dutch to wield the big stick on any erring player. An important factor to note about the team was their discipline and commitment to playing good football, they all played for each other and aside the politics which reared itself in USA, might have even played the final world cup game. |
What happens when we die, does the bible tell a lie? What is truth and what is false, why does peace give way to wars? How did we get here, where're we from? Does good pay in this here times? |
Charlesmud:I must say I appreciate the feelings that has been expressed here, there is no denying the fact that an organized platform for instituting change is a necessity and the very possibility of that is dependent the resources at the disposal of any one or group intent on actualizing a change in the polity. The key here is organization and with the present emphasis on good governance, both at the regional and international levels, the onus falls on civil society to actually act as checks on the excesses of incompetent leadership. I believe what we are talking about here is forming some sort of civil society movement, even that in itself would become a challenge if the commitment and sincerity of members does not live up to expectation. The sad truth is that actually, the state is decaying and it is either sane folks do something to check this decay or we would find ourselves in a much sorrier situation. What should the next move be? ![]() |
