20 PIECES OF ADVICE FOR MY BRAND-NEW 20 YEAR OLD 1) Always go to the place least crowded. Success is found where nobody else is. 2) Being secretly good to people = Superhero. Being famous for the sake of being famous = Loser. 3) Good relationships = Good life. Bad relationships = Bad life. Similar to this: Audience selection is better than audience development. You don’t want people around you that you always have to teach. Instead, pick the right people to be around you. 4) If you do what you always did, you’ll get what you’ve always gotten. If you want your life to change, do something different, something unexpected, take a wrong turn off a dirt road. 5) Sleep and rest. People always say “work hard”. Work a lot. Hustle and grind. But you’re only going to grow when you rest. Working is when you do things. Resting is when the brain grows and rewires itself. 6) Bad things will happen. Treat them like opportunities. You are going to have to repeat that every day. 7) Don’t feel sorry for yourself ever. See above. Be creative every day. Everyone else will stay in their lane. But if you are creative every day you’ll get further and faster than everyone else. 9) Live life as if today MIGHT be your last day. It might not! So don’t kill people you hate. But don’t do something today in hopes of a better outcome tomorrow. Make the most of each day. 10) Don’t eat a lot. I mean, enjoy your food. But always remember, even when you feel hungry, that you aren’t starving. You live in a country where your stomach is ALWAYS full. If you eat more then you’ll be unhappy. 11) READ. You are so lucky. Most people don’t read. Those people are losers. If you read one good thing a day then in a few years you’ll know thousands more things than anyone else. 12) Don’t “Can’t”. Don’t ever say you “can’t” do something. If there’s something you passionately want, there’s always some way to get it or get close to it. 13) Double park with impunity. If you have to get somewhere, don’t be afraid to double park. At the first chance, though, get someone to move your car. Don’t be a dick. 14) Buy convenience. If you have to spend your last dollar to have an easier commute always do it. Convenience is worth more than physical items. 15) Don’t read the news. Every second you read “news” you can be reading or doing something that can improve your life. People who write news are phonies. 16) Everything worthwhile requires skill. If you want to achieve something, you need more skill than all of the other people trying to achieve it. Break apart a skill into 20 micro-skills. Figure out how, each day, you can get better at each micro-skill. Don’t worry about the outcomes. outcomes happen naturally as you build the skills. Just every day focus on improving each micro-skill a tiny, tiny bit. This is the roadmap to success in anything you want to do. 17) If someone doesn’t like you, then ignore them. This seems obvious but it isn’t. Sometimes when someone doesn’t like me, I waste time trying to get them to like me. This is how you win the loser’s trophy. 18) It doesn’t mean anything to “be yourself”. But decide every day what you believe in and don’t compromise on those beliefs. Every time you compromise, you become part of the machine. Much more happiness is found outside of the machine. 19) Don’t believe something just because everyone else believes it. Those are the worst fakes. Except for psychopaths although I bet they are related. 20) Don’t forget to call me. Happy 20th birthday, honey. I love you more than I love at least 7 billion other people. What soccer position is hardest to play? The typical answer to this question would be “the #10” playmaker, but today’s game is evolving so fast that the hardest position to master is one you wouldn’t expect (and you’ll see why): it’s true that outside back is the toughest to master! Most teams today play with either 4 or 3/5 at the back. In both systems, the left and right backs (sometimes called wing backs) have 2 very difficult and often competing responsibilities: Get involved in the attack in the flanks when your team has the ball Stop the most dangerous players on the opposing team when your team doesn’t have the ball Chelsea’s left back is Marcos Alonso… Here we see his positioning. He is more often in the attack than in defense- as a left back!! Defense: As a left back, Marcos is responsible for marking the opposing team’s right forward/winger… So against Liverpool, Alonso has to mark one of the league’s best players in Mo Salah!!! Some will say the playmaker #10 role or box-to-box #8 will have to attack and defend; but none are as defensively-culpable for the opposition’s best attackers while still being responsible for utilizing the width of the field to lead the attack. On top of these basics, now realize the outside backs have only half the teammates to pass to that a center back/mid has. On top of that, throw in 6–7 miles per game of box to box sprinting… It’s an insanely difficult position to master! Why is Arabic written from right to left? You ask the wrong question. The question to ask is Why is English written from left to right? The Arabic and the English alphabets are both derived from the Phoenician alphabet, written from right to left. Evolution of Alphabets The major European alphabets, Latin and Cyrillic, derive from the ancient Greek alphabet. The Greeks adopted their alphabet from the Phoenicians, who used an alphabet, written from right to left. (The ancient Hebrew alphabet is the same as the Phoenician alphabet, since the ancient Hebrew language is very similar to the Phoenician language.) So, originally, Greek was written from right to left, but very soon it switched from left to right. You can find many ancient Greek vases where both directions are used. (Note the ancient letters: B stands for E or H, M for Σ). Andromeda and Perseus written from right to left, and Ketos from left to light. Εdit: Inscriptions were written in boustrophedon, where it starts from left-to-right, then in the next line it goes right-to-left, and all of its characters are mirrored. This alternates between lines. Here is an example (Gortys laws inscription from Crete, 5th century BC): Asb [CC BY-SA 3.0 (Creative Commons - Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 Unported - CC BY-SA 3.0)] The Arabic alphabet developed from the Nabatean script, which in turn is descendant of the Phoenician alphabet. What would happen if you shout "Allahu Akbar" at a crowded terminal? I am a Muslim myself. 2 years ago when I was in the UK, I was with a couple of British folks and we were drunk. One of them suggested I do that as a joke and I went for it and I wish I never did. We were in the bus and all passengers started screaming and me and my friends tried explaining what happened but they never accepted it was a joke so they trapped me inside the bus and they stood outside until the police came and interrogated me for 12 hrs. After finding out that I was clean they still deported me back to Egypt to be interrogated by Egyptian police so that went on for an extra 48 hours plus they kept me under something called the shortlist for another 6 months until they found out in the end that I was just dicking around. Having children with the wrong person (if you just marry the wrong person, well, you can get out of that, but if you have children with them they are in your life forever). Having children when those children turn out to be drug addicts or to have a serious physical or mental illness. Not having children. Not dealing with their low self-esteem or mental health problems earlier. Pursuing the wrong career. Not saving more money. Messing up their relationship with their children or parents and not working to reconcile. Cheating on their wife or husband, especially when they loved her/ him. Not making more of an effort to build deep and lasting friendships/relationships. Not taking care of your physical health (smoking, drinking too much, eating bad food, etc). NB: Please note that when you open a Neteller account and fund it, you need to go to setting, and click/tap on “unverified” to begin the verification process. Neteller is a very reliable and dependable financial services. However, it’s compulsory to get verified by Neteller before you can start enjoying it. If you fail to get verified, you’ll be frustrated. You’ll not even be able to use Neteller. Take your bank account for example, can you use your bank account without getting fully verified? A lot of users have been frustrated by the verification process simply because they don’t know what to do or they do the wrong things. Here are the things you need to know. 1. You must fund your Neteller account before you start using it. You can fund with any amount between 5 USD to 50 USD (higher rates are also allowed) before you can start your Neteller verification process. 2. Ensure that you use information that can be substantiated when you’re opening a Neteller account. Certain people use information that cannot be supported by valid documents, and at the end of the day, they cannot get verified. Make sure that, you use exactly the date of birth, address, official name, as they appear on your documents. There are people who change their information too often, owing to fake life or carefree life. That is why many are having BVN issues. 3. What you need for verification are: A document to identify yourself, A capture of your face, And a proof of your address. Your ID and face capturing is the first step. After that is approved, you capture or upload your proof of address. Your national ID card (plastic) OR travelling passport OR voter’s card OR driver’s license is what you will use. . Your documents must be clean, without stains or tears, not having expired and with all the edges showing. Your best proof of address is your bank statement, showing your address. It must be signed and stamped by your bank. Only one page is enough. You may need to use a high quality scanner to scan your proof of addresses and upload it on Neteller website. 4. If you have info or data that you cannot support with documents, do not use it. 5. Use a laptop or a smartphone with very high quality camera for capturing your face and documents. Too many people use computers and phones with poor quality cameras and they don’t know why their documents are being rejected. It’s best and fastest to do all your verification on the Neteller mobile app. Otherwise, you can do it on their website. If you have any questions, please let us know. What's the hardest part about getting older? At age 55, I find the hardest part about getting older is the mismatch between the internal and the external. Internally, I haven’t changed all that much from the optimistic, energetic and goofy young woman I was in my 20’s. I am lots wiser than when in my youth due to learning from life experiences; however, at the core, my personality has remained fairly consistent. I have many ideas for creative projects I would like to initiate, forms of physical exercise I enjoy and want to continue, places I want to see, loved ones I want to communicate with, etc. I have not lost my adoration of cute shoes, especially strappy retro styles. I would wear them every day if I could. However… Externally (physically), my body just doesn’t have the energy and stamina of even 5 years ago. Menopause has been a particularly difficult portion of the aging process for me. Sometimes I feel like a young adolescent who is enthralled yet horrified at the bodily changes brought about by fluctuating hormones. Where in the hell did this body come from? Some days my inner self just doesn’t seem to fit inside the skin quite as nicely. I find this disconcerting. Menopause has also meant that my metabolism has slowed. I wasn’t a heavy eater before, and it seems that even my lighter diet contains more calories than my body requires. My increasing waist line is evidence of this state of affairs. At this point I have to decide whether I want to give up my passion for baking, my love of a nice glass of wine between work and dinner prep, or just learn to be happy at a higher weight. I have developed lax ligaments in the toes of my left foot. This means a special insole in my shoes, which means no more wearing strappy retro styles that I adore so much. Which means that I have to tweak my style of dress to accommodate the kinds of shoes that I can wear. (I am hopeful that my podiatrist can help ameliorate this issue so I can return to my former fashion choices.) This also means that my beloved Zumba sessions are halted, and maybe even banned forever, as well as the dance videos I incorporated as regular exercise. Dang. And I was just beginning to learn tap dance. I want to age gracefully. However, I find myself raging a bit on the inside at the sense of injustice that growing older means giving up things that have brought joy to my life. The best time to ask for a promotion Summertime is high time to ask for advancement, according to a study from analytics firm Visier. By June, companies have conducted performance reviews and doled out bonuses, so they have breathing room to consider new requests. The worst time to ask? Autumn, when firms are rushing to wrap up the previous year and prepare for the next. Even in summer, choose your moment wisely: If you just received kudos for a job well done, seize the day.
