I preordered the phone first week of December and had to wait for a month and two weeks to get this new pet. The device is first class and the android experience is flawless just as it was reviewed. Fast forward to today . I had left home earlier to see if I could reduce time spent in traffic, (I didn't have to get to work early, I just don't like wasting time in traffic). I got to CMS bus stop (going to Karimu Kotun around Eko Hotels) and traffic was WORSE (lesson learnt) while hustling trying to get a bus, I got robbed of my LGE Nexus 4 a phone I've only used for 2 weeks (hard lesson). I still can't believe someone inserted his hand into my pocket, pulled out a 68.7mm by 133.9mm phone weighing 139g. Was I sleeping!!!

Anyway, first precaution was to change my Google Account PW then I googled how to tracked down this phone.

I've installed series of apps remotely (too bad the phone is turned off and I'm not subscribed to data) hoping the phone goes on and online, app installs and I start getting tracking info. I know I have less than 10% chance of finding this phone, but I'll try. If I do, I'll post an update.

Now my jealous blackberry curve 6 is back to being number 1.

The navy also sent a couple of their battle hardened special forces soldiers, SBS wielding state of the art tavor-21 assault weapon. Nigerian army special forces members were embedded with the troops from mali national army and senegal the first 2days of this war. let me also add that our troops are all kitted with made in nigeria hardware, the desert camo, the bullet proof vest and their ak-47/ AKM/ AK-74 rifles carried by our troops are made in nigeria. Our troops have the requisite training and experience to carry out their mission, have been trained by the best nigerian military trainers.

The airforce, in addition to the 66 special forces troops( paratroopers) already sent to mali, would also deploy MI-35p attack helicopters, MI-24hind and MI-17 terminator attack transport helicopters. 2 Alpha jets( up graded, up gunned and up armoured) have already been deployed, we read about the miracles NAF pilots did with their alpha jets aka "DUDU BIRDS" in SLR and liberia, just wait and see what they are going to do with these upgraded version. The airforce would also deploy G222 medium transport planes, 1 of our C-130 big birds, charlie would also be deployed. Our F-7's would also be deployed, a lot has been said about this bird, unfortunately all negative, however it is left for our pilots to use them in real combat in mali, then we can know for certain whether it is a good bird or not.

At the moment we do not know the the types of vehicles that would be deployed, but we are sure to see our OTOKA COBRA, and french made panhard ( also used by the french in mali) in mali. As for artillery pieces we do not know what would be deployed.


Nigeria has a total number of about 100 thousand troops, deploying 1200 troops to mali which has been a base camp for training terrorists who have killed 2900 nigerians since 2010 is the right thing to do. It is in our own interest to be proactive in mali, the FG has shown willingness to tackle this problem head on, since last year a couple of nigerian secret service (NIA) agents have been embedded in mali. This french intervention provides nigeria a quick, less expensive route in dealing with terrorists operating in nigeria from their base camp in mali. We have to tackle the root of the problem. The army over the last few months have succeeded in landing major blows on terrorist, we just have to carry on with the tempo. Pound them to obliteration, all terrorists must die.

The yuletide season is here again and everybody is doing everything best to make it memorable. For commercial séx workers, popularly known as prostitutés, it is time to use what they have to get what they want.

Just as prices of goods and services have gone up, the legion of women in the bed-to-wealth business have also hiked the price of their services.

Prostitutés, especially those who are resident in brothels have doubled their charges.

This was revealed when DailyPost visited some selected brothels in the commercial city of Lagos. While some new comers in the business are lamenting that people no longer patronize them because of the new hike in price, others are of the opinion that it was a welcome development, stressing that it is not a threat to them.

According to a top member of the Association of Nigerian Prostitutés who wouldn’t want her name mentioned, the new increment would enable its members meet up with their end of the year targets.

She said: “we didn’t do that to punish anybody; we all agreed to increase our price this season. If you check very well, some things in the market have gone up, it is not the price we bought rice in January that we are buying now, virtually everything has gone up. So it is not a crime if we increase our price for just this season,”she said.

The young lady in her late 30s who claimed she’s from Enugu state added that it was agreed during their national meeting.

It was during the national meeting we came up with that idea of new price and end of the year promo for customers.

Asked what they would use in compensating their customers this festive season, the fair-complexion lady said:

“Our customers know how we do it, but this year it is going to be different. Aside offering them free séx as part of the end of the year promo, we still have other things in stock for them especially our recognised and registered customers.

When probed further on what they will give them, the lady angrily said: “All these questions self, if na f**k you want drop money make I nack you wella. We’ve had some situation whereby if you bring someone and the person gets a good customer, she will just forget you. But now we have a new law, if I bring you, there is a certain amount you will deliver either on weekly on a daily basis.

Like now, I have like seven girls in the business and they all pay me some certain percentage every week.

I only do outside job, I no longer stay in a hotel.

Recently I was in Kano to service a top politician there.

When this reporter became so inquisitive to know who the politician is, the lady said: “Wait oo, why all this question sef, shey na because of the bottle of Legend cigarette na em make you wan carry question kill me? I no dey talk again until you pay me.”

But this idea is not comfortable for Sharom, another 20-year-old prostituté who came into the business in July, she confirmed the that there’s hike in price. “Me I’m no longer comfortable with idea of hiking our price. As I’m talking to you now, no customer has even patronized me and I have target to meet.

“I’m travelling before Christmas and I don’t have much on ground. I just tire”.

Asked why she opted to proostitution while they are other jobs out there, the diminutive lady said: “I have OND in Catering and Hotel management, but when I applied here for a job and they didn’t offer me, my contact told me about this job and I found myself in it.

Through this job, I have bought a bus and sponsoring my younger ones in school. I don’t regret going into the business, God sef know say job no dey town.

This reporter visited another popular brothel in Oshodi but stakeholders in the flesh trade industry declined comment, saying that they are not aware of the new price hike.

Another 45-year-old grandma observed that the new increment has really affected their business. She said that with the planned end of the year free séx bonanza, they expected customers to patronize them. “Business is no longer going as usual and I think the reason is because we effected our price, ours shouldn’t be exception because it is common everywhere.

Everything has gone up because of the festive period. They should consider the stress we go through in servicing them, it not easy.” She argued.

Oprah Winfrey has lost her long-held title as the richest black woman in the world to a Nigerian oil tycoon, according to a report by an African business magazine.

Edging out Oprah is Folorunsho Alakija, a 61-year-old woman from Nigeria who is reportedly worth at least $3.2 billion, or roughly $500 million more than Oprah's $2.7 billion net worth, Ventures Africa reported.

Alakija is the founder and owner of Famfa Oil, which owns a 60 per cent interest in OML 127, an offshore oil field that produces roughly 200,000 barrels of oil per day and is worth an estimated $6.44 billion.

Also a fashion designer and philanthropist, Alakija is married and has four grown sons, as well as one grandchild. She owns at least $100 million in real estate and $46 million private jet, Ventures Africa reported.

Born into a wealthy Nigerian family, Alakija started out as a secretary in the mid 1970s at the now defunct International Merchant Bank of Nigeria.

The first time someone attempted to rape me, I was wearing a green, unfitted, high-necked, long-sleeved top. The skirt was made of the same material, a double-layered skirt that almost reached my ankle. I had no make-up done and my semi-relaxed hair was tied to the back with a rubber band. It was my first year at the University and I was a conservative Christian girl. The guy who attempted to rape me was a straight A’s student, from a very religious middle class family and he was studying a ‘prestigious’ course at the same University. I escaped unhurt and unharmed.

The second time someone attempted to rape me, I was wearing a white and green, unfitted, collared long-sleeved top, with a thin belt made of the same material tied around my waist. The skirt was black, flowing and ended somewhere between my knee and my ankle. I had white powder on my face and lip balm on my lips and my braids were tied to the back with a ruffle. It was during my NYSC and I was still a conservative Christian girl. The guy who tried to rape me was a friend, one of the closest friends I have ever had; his sister was also a close friend. I escaped unhurt and unharmed.

Escaping both is one of the greatest miracles of my life, I know people who were not that lucky. My friend Oni* had no breasts when she was sexually abused by her uncle, she was just a preteen. Bisi* wasn’t out partying and drinking when she was cornered by some young men; she had gone to pick her school fees and was on her way back. Menopausal Mama Uche* was resting after a hard day at work when a rapist barged into her house.

Rape knows no boundaries. It doesn’t matter what you wear, where you are or what you look like. Rapist can attempt to or actually attack anyone.

At the International Association of Women Judges conference held in Abuja recently with the theme “Sextortion”, the Attorney General of Katsina State, Ibrahim Dan-Soho was quoted as saying ‘’ Rape is self inflicted in at least 90% of cases’’, he then went on to talk about how women cause rape by the way they dress.

That breaks my heart. Not only because it is coming from an Attorney General who should know better but because that is what many people believe as well. Many women, men, politicians and even religious leaders dismiss rape with their “she asked for it” comments and attitudes, while the criminals walk away free.

If a man rob you of your car because you parked it on the road, will you blame yourself for tempting the man or will you get the man arrested for stealing? Whether your car is displayed on the road or not, whether it tempted him or not, it is a crime to take what doesn’t belong to him. Whether the woman exposed her cleavage or not, whether she was out partying or at home sleeping, whether she is your girlfriend or not, it is a crime to rape!

When are we going to start seeing rape as the horrible crime that it is, instead of trying to escape dealing with it by putting the blame on the victims?

Here are some of the myths by Dr. Laura Berman that we need to let go about rape in other to make sound progress in fighting this crime

Myth: Women “ask for it.”
Fact: Nobody ever wants or asks to be sexually assaulted. The idea that women deserve to be raped because they dress or behave “provocatively” shifts responsibility away from the offender and on to the victim. Every woman should have the liberty to dress and behave as she chooses without fearing that she is inviting sexual assault.

Myth: Rape is committed only by strangers or crazed psychopaths who exist on the margins of society.
Fact: In 2000, the Centers for Disease Control reported that eight out of ten rape or sexual-assault victims not only knew the offender but stated that the crime was perpetrated by a boyfriend or girlfriend, relative, friend, or acquaintance. The overwhelming majority of rapists are seemingly normal people from a wide range of socioeconomic classes, occupations, and nationalities.

Myth: Attractive young women are really the only group that need to worry about rape.
Fact: From an old, frail man in a nursing home to a young child, from a sophisticated urban apartment dweller to an impoverished rural resident, this traumatic and terrible crime happens to people from every demographic. Rape doesn’t discriminate on the basis of age, race, sex, or income.

Myth: Rape is an impulsive act.
Fact: These crimes are not spontaneous, uncontrollable sexual acts. As many as 75 percent of all sexual assaults are planned in advance, often with the victim being targeted and monitored by the assailant.

Myth: Women who drink or take drugs often have a role in the rape.
Fact: We live in a culture that tends to blame victims, but rape is never the survivor’s fault. No one deserves to have been raped or invites sexual assault, even if the person has drunk to excess or exhibited bad judgment.

World’s Unluckiest Bachelor Has Been on 250 Blind Dates, Is Still Single

He’s rich, single and most importantly, he’s not cheap, but despite all these qualities, 47-year-old Larry Greenfield can’t seem to find a suitable life partner. In the last 12 years he has spent around $65,000 on matchmaking services, has been on 250 blind dates, but he has yet to find a wife.

In his first interview with the New York Post, Larry sounded like a man who was honestly looking for love. “I’d trade it all in for a white picket fence, two kids, a dog. And you can have it all! I’d take a $50,000-a-year job, work until I retire,” the ex-securities trader said. “I’m not a bad guy. I haven’t been to prison. It’s just a very frustrating thing.” He admits he focused on his job in his early years, thinking he’d first get the career and then the girl. But it just didn’t work out the way he planned it. But, after some of the six matchmakers he used in the last few years started spilling the beans, Larry came out as a guy looking for perfection. “He would always come back with some minor, minor thing that the person wasn’t perfect,” Maureen Tara Nelson remembers, which made he drop him as a client after a year.

But Larry has one more chance – Janis Spindel of Serious Matchmaking. “Men are picky. It’s in their DNA. They want the four B’s — beauty, brains, body and balance,” Spindel said, adding Greenfield is no different. “Larry wants a normal girl who’s in her thirties who wants to be his wife, who will be a sweet and loving wife and mom. …. I told him I will not take money from him until I have her.” Who knows, maybe the 251st time is a charm

President Goodluck Jonathan, after presenting a gift to his wife, described her as a shining star in his life and thanked God for granting her good health. The event was marked with thanksgiving prayers and presentation of gifts by family, well-wishers and friends.

Chinese officials have blamed industrial pollution for the sudden discolouration of the renown river, the News.com.au reports.

The Yangtze is called ‘golden waterway’ because of the heavy rainfall it receives year-round.
