Politics › Re: Are Yoruba Muslims The Most Disadvantaged Group In Nigerian Political Space ? by Ajibade123(m): 9:52am On Apr 13, 2022 |
Penguin2: In the configuration of Nigeria, it is assumed that the north is predominantly Muslims while the south is predominantly Christians.
Now, whatever is going to the north, goes to a northern Muslim while whatever is going to the south is taken for granted that it should go to a southern Christian.
In the present Nigerian socio-politico space where religion is elevated to a high pedestal in the country’s political discourse, it’s going to take donkey years before a Yoruba Muslim will become the president of this country.
Because while his candidacy will not be appealing to the rest of southerners who are majorly Christians, the north would also not vote for him especially if he chooses a northern Christian to strike a balance. And if he dares to pick another Muslim just so he could appeal to northern sentiments, that would be suicide for such ticket.
This reason is Tinubu’s greatest stumbling block. It was Abiola’s stumbling block too because Christian Generals threatened to overthrow him if he got sworn in as confirmed by IBB which made him annul the election.
Again, while you would expect northerners to be ecstatic about a Muslim southerner taking up the saddle of the country, the reverse is actually the case as northerners never consider southern Muslims as Muslims enough. And southern Muslims have spent generations trying to prove their authenticity to them but it still has never worked. Northern Muslims still perceive their southern counterparts f practicing diluted version of Islam and that they do not follow, religiously, the tenets of Islam.
Northern Christians are in similar shoe too but theirs seem to not be as pathetic as Yoruba Muslims. If anything, northern Christians have produced Yakubu Gowon, David Mark, SGF David Lawal and Boss Mustapha, Theophilus Danjuma, etc. This is a feat never achieved by Yoruba Muslims. Again southern Christians do not see northern Christians as inauthentic Christians unlike what southern Muslims are going through.
So, this is an existential problem for Yoruba/Southern Muslims that they must find an urgent solution to if they must join their fellow southerners in enjoying some key and top privileges that is due south.
Penguin is a bird of reason!
Lalasticlala Mynd44 trash what's even Yoruba Muslim or Yoruba Christian for Christ sake they are all tactics politician used on people like this OP a good person is a good person irrespective of tribe and religion |

yMcy56: Boss you're right. Much cheaper alternatives in the market truly.
I think both companies are aware and waking up now as well.........trying to come down to the masses' level. The day I saw Knorr maggi for instance in small sizes, I was surprised. Did some findings and was told the wrapper that Unilever used to import before are now being sourced locally to reduce the costs of production......
Most of the products are equally targeting the populace now.........that's what I observed anyway. are you a long term investor or short term and how long do you plan to hold a stock before selling?? |

Everytime I remember the incident and see the picture, I cringe. Will was provoked, and rightly so, but he should have used words to slay Chris, not violence. Words are capable of causing more damage than violence ever can because they can break the spirit.

klassyguy: Taking him for a test is not my problem. Their mother is against it. I cannot do that without her support. And the thought of moving to Nigeria was just a thought. We both have been chewing on that for a while now. Raising kids in this environment, particularly in today's US, is not as easy as you think. When I grew up in Nigeria, I had teachers who would flog the daylights out of you for misbehaving in class, and once you get home, you will get additional cane. I know how many times my dad broke cables on my back for misbehaving in school, and that is after I got punished by my teachers. Those beatings straightened me out and made me who I am today. Here, teachers cannot lay their hands on kids as they can be arrested for abusing the child. I've seen it play out several times and it is not pretty. Even the good ol' "ass whopping" families give their kids when they misbehave is frowned on as one nosy neighbor can call child services and report that you're abusing your kids. As someone with years of experience teaching kids I can tell you that you don't have to whip a child before you discipline a child in fact the threat to use cane (threat ) should be a last resort since you said he like console games you can use that as discipline for him tell him he won't play any kind of games if he doesn't comply with you |
