@Kemo88,

It's very true o. Heard same today. You have to get a visa or passport instead. This visa on arrival might not be a bad idea.

Kemo88:
Hi everyone,
Please what's this news about Nigerian embassy not giving ETC to minors anymore? I'm freaking out cos my travel date is soon. Please is this true?
P.s: I don't know if this issue has been addressed here already. My apologies

Thanks. I asked d admin officer if I could come to the office, she said all complaints are handled via phone and that no one will attend to me.

dora2007:
I'd rather suggest you go see d admin in person to specify how d 1743 came about and possibly a discount.

uote author=ajiedeko post=47675130]Dear all,

Please I need your help. For mommas that gave birth recently at CHI st Luke's hospital, Sugarland, pls how did u about getting your zero balance.

I called the finance admin, and she is saying I have an outstanding bill of $1,743 for baby nursery and lab fees. Pls how much did u pay? The amount is too outrageous.

In the spirit of giving back, here's my testimony:

Firstly, I wish to thank everyone for their contributions to this thread. The information I gathered here was so helpful. God bless you.

I left Nigeria with my hubby on June 4 via Airfrance from Abuja to Dallas at 34 weeks. I was asked to get fit to fly from port health despite the fact that I had one from my doctor.

The trip was very okay though the seats were not so spacious. I requested for wheel chair which I used both in Paris and Atlanta. I was particularly happy I did cos it helped a lot. The distance from the flight to the connecting wing in Paris was looooong.

Got to Atlanta and again was able to jump the long queue due to wheel chair usage. The CBP after getting all details sent us for secondary inspection. Was scared we might miss our connecting flight to Dallas cos we had about 45 mins to departure. Waited about 30 minutes and were finally called. I kept praying for God to take control. The 2nd CBP asked for doctor's correspondence, address o where we'll b staying and the amount we had. Then he stamped us in for 6 months. Sent us to another officer to count our cash. We were not sent to agriculture though I had dry fish, ground Egusi and ogbono, pepper, crayfish, knorr cubes. At this time, the departure time for the flight to Dallas had passed but kept praying that God should take control and He did. Apparently the flight was ready for take off but the ACs were not working. So the passengers had to disembark. That was how we were able to meet up.

Got to Dallas by 6.30pm and did a 5 hr road trip to Houston. Got to Houston by 12 am.

Gave birth last Friday. Used Dr. F and CHI st. Luke's hospital, Sugarland. Dr. F is so amazing.

Chilling with my baby and waiting for BC so I can start processing other docs.

Fees paid so far:

Docs fee - 2500 for CS
1st visit + scan - 300
Hosp fee - 3700
Epidural - 1300

My host is a NL mum. Lives in houston with her family. Got a room at a very affordable rate. She has been sooooo amazing. Just like staying with a sister. She helped arrange the cab that picked me from the airport and has been so helpful in terms of transportation and shopping. I'm feeling so much at home.

Once again, thanks to everyone. Wish all waiting mamas safe delivery.

Sorry for d long post, had to summarize d best way possible.

Congrats Cassy,

All will be well in Jesus Name. Amen

Hello mamac and papas finally my little angle has arrived I want to thank each and everyone of you that has contributed to this forum. my story. Work up early hours of the 23rd of May to peeonly to find out I was peeing blood, told my mum and she said it was time to go to the hospital.

On getting there I was checked in. Baby and mother where both doing well but mother was not not dilated. I was still 2cm after 24hours my doctor had to out me on meds to help with the dilating. So my mum and I started to pary finally I was 4cm but the meds was not good for the baby as his heart rate was droping drestically. Do y doctor said we would have to do a CS my face dropped was unhappy about this as I had budgeted for VD. Mind you baby was still at risk we both where.

Finally my mum told me it's the will of God. To cut the story short my baby came yesterday he weighed 6.25 pound and is very healthy. Mother is still under recovery. I just want to thank God for my life and that of my baby because we where both at full risk.

My only worry is this bill but am sure God will do it again for me. Help me thank God everyone.

TheLeakyTribe:
It is my turn to share my testimony.

My LO was born yesterday 11th May 2016. Some of you would recall how my Dollars were stolen by my help before my trip. I was well prepared to follow it up and post everywhere about it but after my first doctors appointment here, the stolen money was irrelevant to me.

The doctor did a scan and said she found spots on my LO's heart that were indicative of either a hole in the heart or downs syndrome. I began to pray and believe God even though I was very shaken by the news.

Long story short, she arrived yesterday and is completely fine. She followed me straight from the OR to the postpartum recovery room. Join me praise the Lord. I'm one happy mumma.

Dear mamas in the house,

Just a quick question. I will be sending my change of intent mail to the embassy tomorrow. Pls I just want to find out if there's any possibility of receiving a negative response from them or if there's anyone that has received any negative response from them.

I'll really appreciate your feedback.

Thanks.

swappylove:

Hi dear, saw ur pm.might as well answer here.
Not sure u may want to use my hospital though cos it was quite pricey compared to lots of other dallas deals.
I used methodist Charlton and hospital cost was 4500 for vaginal delivery, I probably will pay more though cos I was under observations in hospital b4 I gave birth.only God knows how much they will charge. Am still in hospital.peadatrician was 600
CS in the hospital is 7000.
My doc was 2700 and it includes lab works.
In dallas though there are so many good deals like doctors hospital which is 3000, JPS hospital which I hear is 4500 for everything and someone also mentioned baylor carrolton.i will advice u research these

Thanks sis

Thanks all for the responses. I'm still learning how to post on this platform.

@Justwise,

the issue is that I don't have any doctor yet hence no correspondence. The person I will be staying with said d doctors told her they don't deal with international patients. So I will only contact them when I arrive the US. I don't have a problem declaring my intentions as I have the cash to pay. My only fear is that since I don't hv a doc yet, I might be bounced. Kindly assist pls. I tried to check thru the threads for any moms that hv given birth in Dallas so I cld get some dr's contacts that I can contact from here but no success. Kindly assist if u can cos I would want to be truthful as I can be. Thanks

justwise:

..again if you have money to give birth in US there is not need scoring an own goal. You will find it difficult to get your visa renewed the moment you start fiddling with your plan.

I'm coming to give birth in US and i have this amount of money to pay all my bills and this is my Dr's corespondent..is that simple.

Hello all,
Pls I'm new to this platform. I intend giving birth in the US and already bought tickets for myself and hubby for 2 weeks in June with the intention that we will state we are in the US for vacation and eventually change my return date to a later date. Going through the posts in this platform, I realised I was supposed to submit a change of intent letter to the consular cos we got the visa for the whole family last year for vacation but didn't eventually travel. I wasn't pregnant then though.. kindly advise on what to do and if it is still necessary to get the change of intent done. If yes, will I need to change the return date? As it won't tally if I declare that I am pregnant and will be staying for almost 3 months.
Also, what are the implications if I decide to go with my initial plan of just stating that my purpose is for vacation and shopping?
Apologies for the long post.
