SportsRe: Marion Jones Pleads Guilty In Drug Case, Retires by ajileko: 9:39pm On Oct 26, 2007
This is big money business here. You have to be on top to make the big bucks. Marion Jones made over 20 million dollars in shoe contract and product endorsement after the 2000 Olympic. The difference between been fast and been the fastest is about 19.5 million dollars. Some Nigerian athletes abroad uses some form of anabolic.

thirdeye, I read your article on building a home here in (Nigeria) and how you will need all these professionals and engineers to build your home. Let's face it, these people are expensive. Architects, Structural Engineer, Electrical Engineer, Quantity Surveyor and so on. By the time you paid all these people, you won't have money left for the main purpose (Build a Home). Be honest now Omion, if I'm just building a small one storey four bedroom home or a 4Nos three bedroom flat, Do I really really need all the folks?

PropertiesRe: Cost Of Building A House In Nigeria by ajileko: 2:04pm On Oct 04, 2007
This is not a development fee. This is the notorious hooligans scam fee called (OMO ONILE). You can not escape it
if you are buying or building in Lagos. I recently bought a piece of land in Okun Ajah and had to pay them #50,000 naira for foundation and #6,000 for virgin land fee even though I was only fencing the land. Those crooks are bunch of lazy bastards.

TravelRe: Can I Be Given Study Visa? by ajileko: 11:15pm On Sep 27, 2007
They seldom give visa for diploma courses in the UK. Your best bet will be to apply to an accredited college for either a bachelor or master degree.
Good luck.

Londoncool: Since your land is in Calabar, you shouldn't need iron rod for your fence. Mine is in VI area, Okunaja to be precise.
PropertiesRe: I Need Building Tips by ajileko: 1:47pm On Sep 26, 2007
The granite will cost you about 25,000 naira for a 5 tons load. Very expensive. Why do you need granite anyway? You can achive the same result using wash gravels and save lots of money. The iron rod will cost you about 107,000 naira per ton. The biger the rod diameter, the lesser the quanty. Example: 10mm = 134 peices, 12mm = 93 peices, 16mm = 52 peices. 1x12x12 will cost you about 600 naira each.
Hope this helps.

1 Full lorry of Sand 10 tons)
2 small lorry of gravels
1 tons of 8mm iron rod

thirdeye, thanks for the information.
On the same topic, I'm fencing a plot of land that I just acquired in Lagos and received a quotation of about 620,000 thousand Naira. Including
materials and labour including the gate. Now the contractor is saying that there will be additional cost of 35 thousand naira for the weilder and the carpenter for the iron rod and the pillar fence. Can you tell me what is a reasonable cost for the wielder and carpenter on the job site.

Thanks.
