@ Experienced ogas at the top= I am currently doing a PGD at CNA but would like to do another PGD at the end of the session for a 3yrs Post study work permit. I am a bit skeptical here, does CIC combine certificates for issuance of PSW permit or they base it on the duration of the latest tenure of study.

What are my chances, should I do a diploma course for 2yrs straight or go for another PGD to make it a cumulative program of 2yrs total. I really need advice. I dont want to risk 1yr PSW permit to process PR or Provincial nominee.

ChriGo: ....Its best u complete all ur schooling before applying for a workpermit....just like dr_jay02 said...PGD doesn't neccessarily qualify u for Masters...alota Factors might be considered e.g UG grades +PGD grads+Work experience+sum oda requirements so my brother its best you opt for another 1yr PGD after your 1yr PGD summing up 2yrs...You can then apply for 3yrs work permit.....

Correct, that is what I intend doing after my 1yr PGD. I prefer doing PGD in 2 fields than spending 2 yrs on Diploma since the aim is 3yrs work permit. I intend starting the second PGD before the expiration of my current TRV ( 3 months to expiration) and then apply for one year TRV extension.

After a thorough scavenger hunt on Don Siga's previous posts, I was able to get the link with Canadian Institutions' International tuition fees. The link is available here for anyone interested.

ChriGo: ...Take am www.cic.gc.ca/english/study/institutions/participants.asp ....As for the tuition Just browse tru the course on the sch's website....
Thanks Chrigo, although the list I was seeking spells out the tuition fees of the schools. We refer to it to when we want to make tuition comparison.I could recall that it was posted by Oga Siga then.

I appreciate the link you provided though... it is even more comprehensive, quite useful as well.

linus27: I want to ask a question? to all those that are already in canny,do you guys bath at all ? grin just wondering with that kind of weather grin please tell us how you guys dey manage bath or una no dey bath? cos this weather you are talking about is far far below freezing point grin please o no yab me o na question i ask o

The houses are usually warm with the heating on...most houses use firewood heating to reduce electricity costs though ...the firewood heating is always extremely hot...you will only have to worry when you step out of the house to go to school. Houses and classrooms have heating 24/7 and if NEPA takes light due to snow storms like we are experiencing in some places now (usually 1-2 days maximum) then u go burn firewood to heat up your house and boil bathing water too. Remember, you feel warmer when you bath.

@ Chrigo,Don Siga or Oga Phemmy kindly help to retrieve the post on Canadian Institutions and their tuition fees for international students or post the link. I could recall that it was posted in Part 4 but can't remember the exact page.

Thanks in advance

ajibolaadeniji: Pls hw cn I get admisn into ur skool ??

@ Ajibola,

The school only offers admission for fall applicants

http://www.cna.nl.ca/international-students/post.asp

( Just 3 PGD courses are offered- Journalism, International Business Management and Safety Engineering Technology as detailed in the link) Although, the school has a lot of courses for the 2yr Diploma depending on the course that you intend to study. The Tuition is relatively cheap at CAD 8,000 per annum compared to others but the employment prospect is very low cos of the population. I guess that is the more reason while Tuition fees are cheap in Newfoundland and Labrador but the truth is, you do not have to be restricted to the province even after study.

Please note that it is a College and not a University

Na wah o, It seems I am the only one attending the College of the North Atlantic on this forum, any way, as the only black in my town (Stephenville), I am chopping the life of my head here.

Hello Roosevelt.. Pls that college of the north atlantic you applied to , do you get to pay tuition fee here or when you arrive Canada.
(2). Do you have to pay the whole tuition fee or you pay installmental

Thanks for your swift response

Best Regards

@ Chuks for life

I am a Journalism student (PGD) of the College of North Atlantic (Bay St. George Campus) Fall 2013, though a silent follower of the thread. I was asked to pay in August to book my place in school after I was issued a TRV in July, but I only paid CAD 4,000 for one Semester. I did wire transfer from outside Canada.

Regards.
