I am a core core Yoruba (Ile ife) man but I love the spirit of our Igbo and SS brothers, they represent everywhere in everything in Nigeria from business to football, entertainment, entrepreneurship, innovation, education just name it the only aspect I don't like is that they also lead in bad aspects like drug peddling and kidnapping while you hardly hear of kidnapping in the SW nor North its an everyday thing in the SS and SE, but in all sha I love their spirit they are never behind in anything be it Good bad and ugly.

Politics / An Encounter With A 419ner by AKAKAK(m): 10:47am On Feb 04, 2016
AN ENCOUNTER WITH A 419NER
Exactly two weeks ago, a lady dressed as a Custom Officer on her Facebook wall, sent me a friend's request. Seeing her age and rank, I accepted. Thirty minutes after we became Facebook friends, she sent me a message on both my wall and inbox that The Nigerian Customs was selling impounded cars at cheap and affordable prices.
I immediately knew that the lady was not for real. Typical of me, I would have deleted her from my friends list, but I deliberately opted to humor her by playing along. I called the number she sent in her advert, and it was a man who picked. I told him I wanted to talk to Femmy Juliana but he said she was his boss blah blah....and that he was her PA. He said I could do business with him as he represented his "madam".
I told him I was interested in the Murano which was listed for N500,000 and that I needed to know how and when to pay for the car. And of course, where I could pick my car! He told me that I had to pay first. He explained that after I'd paid, Madam would then finish all the processes involved at the Nigeria Customs headquarters for me because "she is an insider." He reiterated that if I come in myself, I won't even be considered. I feigned agreement to his suggestion. Next he told me he would send a bank account number for the payment while calmly reminding me to keep safe the Bank Teller as my proof of payment. I said I understood.
24 hours later, I was yet to pay money into his account. (Perish the though! I don't have that kind money in any of my accounts.) He started calling me and I kept ignoring his calls. Within an hour, he had called me 47 times and I knew he was "killing" my phone battery. So I picked his call and calmly told him that my bank had blocked my account (because of BVN) and I needed to deposit N25,000 before I could access "my over N2.5million in that account."
He urged to get the money quickly or "Madam may change her mind and give the Murano car to somebody else." I told him, in desperate tones, that I don't want to lose the car and I was doing my best to get a loan of N25,000 in order to access my account. Two hours later, he called to know how far I had gone in my quest. I told him I was still stuck. Then, I casually begged him to loan me the N25,000 after which I would now back N30,000 to him plus the cost of the Murano (that is N530,000). Grudgingly, he agreed. I thanked him like my life depended on it. Then I sent him an empty account I seldom use.
Within an hour, I got an alert for N25,000 paid into my account from him. I have caught the "mugu". He called to inform me that he'd paid in the money and I should go get it and activate my account. With a wicked smirk on my lips, I told him that I was grateful for the gift of the money and he could go to hell. He started shouting and I hung the phone on him.
He kept calling and I sent him this text:
My name is Davidson Rotshak Lar, am a Police Officer. I work in Kebbi State Police Command Hqts. My office is on the first floor of the State CIID building. Come and get your money here, Mr. 419ner. I only got my own share of those you had scammed."
I haven't heard from him since. His phone number is unreachable. We are now trying to use the Bank Account number he gave me to see if we could arrest him through the address he supplied.
I now appreciate why banks are so meticulous when you go to open account. But am richer by N25,000

Romance / Relationship Of Nowadays by AKAKAK(m): 7:04pm On Feb 03, 2016
The type of so-called relationships among guys and
girls these days is so horrible that one will wonder if
this is not a prostitution in disguise. When a lady
dates a guy, the lady gives him sex while the guy
gives her money or buy material things for her. It has
now become the duty of a
boyfriend to be giving money to his girl friend and it
has
become the duty of girlfriend to satisfy her man's sex
urge. Tell me is there any difference between this and
prostitution? A prostitute collects money from her
customer and then sleeps with d customer. A guy
gives money to his girlfriend and then sleeps with
her. Therefore what the youths of today practice is
not relationship and dating. It is prostitution. A
prostitute is not only a lady who sleeps with men in
brothels.
Let us change our mentality. But
Dear ladies,
1. You should not let a man know that you are madly
in love with him. Do not let him know that you cannot
do without him, or else he will take you for granted,
cheat on you and do anything he likes freely. He will
say, "I can do anything; Afterall she loves me very
much. She will not quit me even if cheat on her.
2. Never you cry over an ordinary boyfriend who is
not your husband. Boyfriend is not your legally
accepted man. So why should you cry because he
broke your heart? He doesn't worth it. 3. As a woman,
give yourself respect. You must let
your man know that you can survive without his
money. Don't be requesting for money for cream,
recharge card and cloth from him all the time. Even if
you must ask him for money, let it be once in a while.
He will respect and value you. Have a source of
income. Even if you are a student, request for more
money from your parents and not from your
boyfriend. If you don't request for money, he will not
request for sex.
Some men believe nothing goes for nothing. They
don't
spend without expecting receiving that's your body
and when they're tire of that your body,he will dump
you
because he believe have payed for that satisfaction.
STOP PROVING that YOU are ONLY good for SEX and
DATING
not GOOD for marriage. Men are smart when it
comes to
marriage.
AM I MAKING SENSE. Drop your comment.

A Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court on Friday, 22nd January 2016, granted the National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, Mr Olisa Metuh bail in the sum of 300 million Naira and two sureties in like sum. Metuh is facing a seven-count charge of criminal breach of trust, corruption and money laundering.

In the ruling on Friday, the Chief Judge of the FCT High Court, Justice Ishaq Bello, stressed that the sureties must be resident in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital city. There have been mixed reactions as to how Metuh who is still being detained will meet the bail conditions. Pastor Adeboye's son Leke is one of the Nigerians puzzled at what will happen to Metuh's bail money. Below is what he(Leke Adeboye) shared on Facebook:

I have two questions.
1. Where does a normal man get 300 million N. That's 1Million dollars o. As bail money
2. What happens to the bail money. Who keeps it and who uses it?

Politics / Scrapping Of Fuel Subsidies To Save Nigeria $5 Billion Bloomberg Business by AKAKAK(m): 3:04pm On Jan 22, 2016
Bloomberg Business: Nigeria Sees $5 Billion Silver Lining to Oil Rout on Subsidy End
# Scrapping of fuel subsidies to save Nigeria $5 billion
# Financing budget deficit remains challenge, Osinbajo says
Nigeria’s government, which relies on oil for about two-thirds of its revenue, sees a silver lining to the plunge in crude prices because it will no longer have to subsidize fuel, Vice President Professor Yemi Osinbajo said.
“Lower oil prices also mean there is some advantage,” Osinbajo said in a panel discussion at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Alps, Switzerland, on Thursday. The decline “means that we are not paying any subsidies, which frees up something in the order of about $5 billion.”
Brent oil in London has dropped more than 60 percent to below $28 a barrel since November 2014, as Shale oil production from the U.S. increased and the Organization of Petroleum Importing Countries refrained from cutting output in the face of a global oversupply in an effort to defend market share. Nigeria is Africa’s largest oil producer.
Nigeria will still face challenges in financing its budget deficit and aims to increase value-added tax and customs duty collection to help plug the gap, Osinbajo said.
“We think with adequate governance around budget management and around expenditure management, we can do quite a bit,” he said. “If we are able to do those things, we might be able to come away with under $30” a barrel oil.

Health / A Must Do For All Singles Before Proposing To/marrying That Girl/guy by AKAKAK(m): 2:03pm On Jan 22, 2016
Any one that has ever had a Sickle cell patient as a close person can tell how difficult it is to have one, their parents always go through a lot trauma and emotional troubles, many Sickle cell children have ruined the finances of their parents, large % of them also die “prematurely” no matter the care. The Sickle patients themselves live a painful life of always undergoing serious unspeakable pain anytime they have crisis.

Most couples with SS children end up hating themselves and regretting their decisions no matter the love they initially shared. This is because the stress and emotional trauma related to raising sickle cell children is excessively enormous.

In order to avoid having a sickle child, below is the simple guide for singles to follow in order to have peace of mind raising their children, and also avoid children that would live forever in pains.

Before you propose or marry that girl/guy, both of you should run genotype test and strictly follow the guide below based on the result. According to research, people still make this mistake of marrying incompatible people in this age and time.

Remember it is better to be guided than to be a victim (don't be blinded by "love" please).

AA+ AA EXCELLENT
This is the perfect combo as couples in this category can never give birth to SS or AS

AA+AS GOOD
This is a good combo as couples in this category can never give birth to SS but they can give birth to a carrier i.e AS

AA+SS FAIR
This is a fair combo as couples in this category can never give birth to SS but all their children will be carriers i.e AS

AS+AS BAD
This is a bad combo as couples in this category can have all their children as SS

AS+SS VERY BAD
This is a very bad combo as couples in this category have a very high possibility of having all their children as SS

SS+SS SUICIDE MISSION

This is an extremely bad combo as couples in this category can only have SS children.

Lalasticlala, ishilove, seun, mynd44, obinoscopy please move this to front page to educate singles out there so that they can avoid this mistake that many have made and are now regretting.

“We have come to donate these plastic kettles and prayers mats to the mosque leaders, because we all worship one God and we are from one family- Adam and Eve; so, we should be teaching both Muslims and Christians how to forgive, tolerate, love, accommodate each other and to preach against attacking holy places.

I don't have anything against the gesture, but I disagree with the fact that we worship the same God their is a wide gap between the God Christians worship and the one Muslim worship.

Politics / A Clarion Call For Us (igbos) To Restore Our Image: by AKAKAK(m): 9:40am On Jan 22, 2016
Dear Nairalanders,

I found this on facebook.

‎This is the full text by Ugo Chikezie

A CLARION CALL FOR US (IGBOS) TO RESTORE OUR IMAGE:

There is a dangerous trend I have noticed in this country and I wish to appeal to all well meaning Igbo people all over the world to stand up and help to restore our image as a region. Each time I listen to Radio programs or read comments on Facebook, Twitter etc, I notice that people who appear to be defending corruption these days are mostly people from our region. We are good people and highly industrious. We were trained with high moral values, and we're taught to always conduct ourselves in ethical and professional manner. Therefore, my heart bleeds each time I see my people openly defending corruption thereby giving us bad image in the country.

Abacha's son and some of the people who served under him were incarcerated for many years, I didn't see any Northerner shout witch-hunt.... I can bet you, if IBB, Atiku etc are arrested today, no Hausa person will protest. Dasuki has been held for some months now, no northerner has openly come out to protest. Over 100 members of the Shiite group were killed last month by the Nigerian military, till date I've not heard the Hausas shouting "witch-hunt"

When OBJ was president, the people that criticized him the most were the Yorubas. He openly disgraced Tafa Balogun and some other prominent Yorubas for corruption and no yoruba person made any noise. Bode George was jailed some years ago and no Yoruba person shouted witch-hunt.... I can go on and on and on..... even recently Olu Falae was fingered in the arms deal scandal, and the Yorubas have not spared him.

But anytime GEJ's name is mentioned for the way he mismanaged our economy, my people will jump out in his defense.... when did we loose our sense of morality to this extent When did we go this low as a people Are we now proud of evil All over the world, people are held to account for their stewardship when they leave office. Because if there are no consequences for corruption then the whole world will be like a zoo. Sadly, in Nigeria we are shamelessly supporting evil and making excuse for corrupt people. People who say don't talk about GEJ or dont blame GEJ seem not to understand the dangerous path they are taking our country to. This is the first time this is happening in the history of Nigeria.... PMB can also decide to loot our treasury and go and if we protest, the northerners will say he is past we should focus on the future.... the next president will also come and loot and go and this evil trend will continue till the country will finally collapse right before us.

I know that so many people will attack me for this post, but let it be on record that I spoke out at a time like this when some people are giving our region bad image. There are times when silence is not golden. Evil thrive when good people keep silence. We are good people and we must arise to salvage our image and restore National and international trust. Nigeria is bigger than GEJ or PMB. Nigeria should be more important to us than PDP or APC. It's not compulsory for everybody in the country to support the president or party in power, but it's important to criticize objectively. Be a catalyst, not an enemy of state.

God in His infinite wisdom inspired some people to write the Bible, He didn't ask them to write about leaders who succeeded alone, He also inspired them to write about the Rulers who failed, so that we can learn from them. All over the world leaders are remembered for good or for bad. Mahatma Ghandi, Abraham Lincoln, Thomas Jefferson, Nelson Mandela, Olusegun Obasanjo, Bill Clinton, Abacha, Martin Luther King, IBB, Adolf Hitler, Idi Amin etc have all lived and some are dead but they are all still being remembered for their successes and failures.. this is why it's important to always utilize your opportunities very well so that you will be remembered for good after you exit from office/earth. GEJ failed and he will always be on the wrong side of history (just like all our past rulers in Nigeria) so no one should tell me not to talk about him anymore, because there is no future if you don't properly analyze the past and learn from it.
When a child falls down, he stands up and continue running, but when an adult falls down, he will look back and understand what made him fall and address it before taking any step further. Wisdom is profitable to direct.
Let's not forget that the world is not destroyed by those who do evil, rather the world is destroyed by those who support evil....
Selah!!!!!

Health / 12 Cancer Causing Food You Are Probably Eating Everyday by AKAKAK(m): 7:13pm On Jan 18, 2016
1. Red Meat
For those of you, who love your T-bone steak, calm down. There is evidence that shows that red meat is actually a good thing in your diet, in small, infrequent amounts, Grass fed beef contains conjugated linoleic acid that actually fights against certain cancers.
However, in a study done over a 10 year period, eating red meat every day, even a small amount, such as that quarter pound hamburger you like to enjoy at lunch, increased a man’s risk of dying from cancer by 22 percent and a woman’s chance by 20 percent. A separate research study has shown that eating a lot of red meat increased the risk of breast, prostate, and colon cancer.
Red meat seems particularly dangerous when talking about colon cancer. A study done in the US followed almost 150,000 people between the ages of 50 and 74. This study showed that the long term consumption of red meat significantly increased the amount of colon cancer found in the subjects studied. On the other hand, the long term consumption of fish and poultry appeared to be protective in nature.
Enjoy that T-bone, but not every night, perhaps not even every week. Save those steaks for a once in while treat and be sure you are consuming grass fed, organic beef for your best health.
2. Alcohol
An American study that followed the diet and lifestyles of more than 200,000 women for almost 14 years found that postmenopausal women who drank one drink per day or less had an almost 30 percent increase in breast cancer rates compared to women who did not drink at all.
Alcohol use is the second leading cause of cancer, right behind tobacco use. While a moderate or low consumption of alcohol can be healthy and lead to a reduced risk of heart disease, excessive drinking is known to cause heart failure, stroke, and sudden death. In 2007, experts working for the World Health Organizations International Agency for Research on Cancer looked at the scientific evidence regarding cancer and alcohol use from 27 different studies. They found sufficient evidence to state that excessive alcohol use is the main cause of mouth, esophagus, liver, colon, mouth, rectum, and female breast cancers.
Don’t fret! You can still enjoy that glass of wine with dinner, but, for your health’s sake, no more than one!
3. Diet Anything
Diet foods, including frozen foods, or prepackaged foods labeled as “diet” or “low fat”, including diet sodas, generally contain aspartame, which is a chemical, artificial sweetener that we talk about in detail above. There are numerous studies showing that aspartame causes many diseases and sicknesses such as cancers, birth defects, and heart problems.
All “diet” food is chemically processed and made from super refined ingredients, excessive sodium levels, as well as artificial colors and flavors to make it taste good. Don’t ever forget, artificial anything is NOT real food! Although the FDA says that all these added chemicals are

Genetically modified organisms, more commonly called GMO’s, are foods that have been modified by chemicals and grown with chemicals.
In a study done by Dr. Pusztai at the Rowett Institute in Scotland, rats were fed GMO foods, especially potatoes. ALL rats showed damaged immune systems, pre-cancerous cell growths, along with smaller brains and livers, in just the first 10 days of the project. American consumers believe that the FDA has approved these GMO foods and this is simply not the case.
The FDA has NO testing procedures for GMO foods, NONE. The only human study ever published showed that those foreign genes that are present in GM food transfer to the DNA in the bacteria in our digestive systems. We, the American consumer, are the guinea pig (or rat) in this case. Unfortunately, almost all grains, including soybeans, wheat, and corn, have been grown via GMO’s.
GMO’s do not have to be listed on food labels, so read carefully and look for labels that state the food is GMO free.
safe to eat, you might want to take their advice with a grain of salt. After all, don’t they also tell you that sugar and vegetable oils are safe to eat? (Not to mention GMO’s and fast food!)
There have been many studies that show that these additives, for some people, can actually be addicting. They feed that “feel good” part in your brain, similar to cocaine! Well, that actually makes sense because if you become addicted to these foods, the companies making them are certain to score a lot of money, aren’t they?
Be smart and eat nature’s own, natural “diet” food; fruits and vegetables! (Organic, of course!)

5. Artificial Sweeteners
Most people use artificial sweeteners to either lose weight or because they are diabetic and must avoid sugar. The main problem in all this is that there are numerous studies that show people who consume artificial sweeteners on a regular basis, such as in sodas, or coffee sweeteners, actually gain weight. It also does little or nothing to help those with diabetes.
In fact, artificial sweeteners actually make it even more difficult to control their blood sugar levels and worsen conditions that are related to diabetes such as cataracts and gastro paresis. Sometimes aspartame has been found to cause convulsions, which some people will mistake for an insulin reaction.
Not to mention that artificial sweeteners inhibit your body’s ability to monitor its daily calorie consumption and make the body crave even more sweets. Well, we’ve already discussed how refined sugars can cause cancer.
There is mounting evidence that the chemicals that make up these sweeteners, especially aspartame, break down in the body into a deadly toxin called DKP. When your stomach processes this chemical, it in turn produces chemicals that can cause cancer, especially brain tumors.

6. Refined Sugars

Refined sugars are not only known to spike insulin levels, but also to be the most preferable food for cancer cells, thus promoting their growth.
Cancers seem to have a sweet tooth. This is a known fact that has been around for many years. The Nobel laureate in medicine, German Otto Warburg, back in 1931, first discovered that tumors and cancers both use sugars to “feed” themselves and/or to increase in size. In order to proliferate, cancer cells seem to prefer feeding on fructose-rich sweeteners like high-fructose corn syrup (HFCS); the reason is that HFCS is being metabolized by cancer cells most quickly and easily.
Now it is clear why high-fructose corn syrup is considered the worst offender. And since cakes, pies, cookies, sodas, juices, sauces, cereals, and many other extremely popular, mostly processed, food items are loaded with refined sugars and HFCS in particular, this helps explain why cancer rates are on the rise these days.

7.Foods that are highly salted, pickled, or smoked

Foods that are cured by use of nitrates or nitrites act as preservatives as well as adding color to the meat. Although nitrates do not cause cancer in and of themselves, under certain conditions these chemicals change once they are inside the body into N-nitroso composites. It’s this N-nitroso that is associated with a greater increase the risk of developing cancers.
Smoking foods such as meat or nuts causes these food items to absorb considerable amounts of the tar that smoke produces. Tar is a known carcinogen. Meats such as bacon, sausage, bologna, and salami are high in fat and salt. Pickled foods are also very high in salts.
There is overwhelming evidence that eating these types of foods greatly increases the risk of colorectal cancer and higher rates of stomach cancer. The rates of stomach cancer are much greater in places such as Japan where a traditional diet contains many foods that are highly salted, and/or smoked.
8. Potato Chips

Yes, we know, potato chips are cheap, great tasting, quick snack, however, the negative effects they have on your body may not be worth the little bit of pleasure you derive from these crispy snacks.
Potato chips are high in both fat and calories, which are sure to bring on weight gain. A study done in the New England Journal of medicine found that eating just 1 once of potato chips per day caused an average 2 pound weight gain in one year. Besides being full of trans-fats which can cause high cholesterol in most people, they have excessive sodium levels which, for many people, cause high blood pressure.
Potato chips have artificial flavors, numerous preservatives, and colors as well, which is something else your body doesn’t need. Potato chips are fried in high temperatures to make them crispy but this also causes them to make a material called acrylamide, a known carcinogen that is also found in cigarettes.
It’s hard to say no to your kids demands for chips sometimes, therefore, as a sneaky alternative, buy them baked potato chips or tortilla chips which are at least lower in both fat and calories. Air popped popcorn and whole wheat pretzels are another healthier option. Or try baked apple chips or banana chips which are dehydrated. Both are crispy and are far healthier than regular potato chips.
9 Microwave Popcorn

Those little bags of popcorn are so convenient to just stick in the microwave, you wouldn’t think for a minute that they could be dangerous to your health, but they are.
First, let’s talk about the bag itself. According to Wikipedia, conventional microwave popcorn bags are lined with a chemical called perfluorooctanoic acid ( PFOA). This is a toxin you can find in Teflon also. According to a recent study at the University of California, PFOA is linked to infertility in women. Numerousstudies in lab animals and humans show that exposure to PFOA significantly increases the risk of kidney, bladder, liver, pancreas and testicular cancers.
Now, let’s talk about the contents. Although every manufacturer uses slightly different ingredients, most of them use soybean oil (a GMO product) as well as various preservatives such aspropyl gallate, a chemical that is causes stomach problems and skin rashes. Now they don’t actually say they are using GMO corn kernels, but that’s because the government says they don’t have to. Even if they don’t use GMO corn, you can bet they aren’t using organic corn!

10 Processed Meats

What exactly are processed meats? This is a long list that includes, but is not limited to, sausages, hot dogs, bacon, most lunch meats like bologna or pimento loaf.
Researchers who wrote in the journal of BMC Medicine said that the excessive salts and chemicals that are used when making processed meats are damaging to your health. The study showed that 1 in every 17 people who were involved in the study died and those who ate 160 grams or more of processed meats increased their risk of early death as much as 44 percent within 12 years as opposed to those who ate 20 grams or less. This study involved people from 10 European countries and went on for almost 13 years.
All these processed meats contain numerous chemicals and preservatives, including sodium nitrates, which make them, look appealing and fresh but are well known carcinogens. Smoking meats seem to be particularly bad as the meat picks up tar from the smoking process. Yes, tar, the same deadly ingredient that cigarette smoke contains

11. Soda Pop
Perhaps you heard about the recent study that was published in May in the American Journal of Nutrition? It found that people who consumed more than one soda per day had a higher risk of stroke than people who did not drink sodas.
Loaded with sugar, sodas are an empty source of calories that cause weight gain and contribute to the nationwide epidemic of obesity. Drinking large amounts of this rapidly digested sugar causes your blood sugar to spike which can lead to bothinflammation and insulin resistance. Soda is often the root cause of gastro-esophageal reflux disease, which is when the contents of the stomach leak into the esophagus causing not only pain but an actual burning of the esophagus from stomach acid.
Although sodas are not a direct cause of ulcers, they are known to irritate and make those with ulcers have more pain. Sodas also contain artificial colorings and food chemicals like derivative 4-methylimidazole (4
12. Canned Tomatoes

Actually, most canned foods are a concern because of what the can is lined with. The lining of almost all canned foods are made with a chemical called bisphenol-A, or BPA.
A study published in May of 2013 by the Proceeding of the National Academy of Sciences showed that BPA actually affects the way genes work inside the brain of rats. Even the FDA agrees that there is a problem with BPA as it is supporting efforts to either replace or at the very least, to minimize the amounts found in canned foods. You know it must be bad when even the very lax FDA is concerned!
Tomatoes are exceptionally dangerous due to their highacidity, which seems to cause BPA to leech from the lining of the can into the tomatoes themselves. The level of BPA can be so high in fact; you should seriously consider not feeding them to children. Due to FDA laws, there are no standards for labeling BPA so simply because a can does not say it has it does not mean that it does not contain BPA. Be safe and avoid cans. Cook fresh or buy glass bottles.
Family / Parents Can Now Hold Their Babies In Their Hands Even Before They Are Born... by AKAKAK(m): 6:49pm On Jan 18, 2016
Company Baby:Boo came up with the idea, which it claims is "a really lovely keepsake to cherish"

Expectant parents can now hold their babies right in their hands even before the babies are born thanks to new technological innovation.
Expectant mothers and fathers will no longer have to wait until their child is born to hold their baby - all thanks to 3D printing.
According to Mirror Online, a tech company, Baby:Boo, helps parents-to-be create a life-like replica of their baby using a special scan of the pregnant woman's womb. That image is then sent off to be rendered into a 360 degree format, and printed in 3D.
Baby:Boo offers the 3D baby model in either a box to be held, or mounted in a frame for parents who may wish to display it in their home.
Katie Kermode, who owns Baby:Boo, said: "People do think it's a little odd but it's similar to creating casts of baby's feet or hands. It's actually a really lovely keepsake to cherish."
And the company, based in Tarleton, Lancs, claims to be very popular with the parents of tomorrow who are desperate to cough up £150 for the service.
Layla Macmillan
Mrs Kermode, 32, built the company after having two miscarriages. She is now a mother of two however, having since had children Alfie, three, and Sienna, two, with sales director dad Craig.
Her first customer, Layla Macmillan, approached the company when she became pregnant for the fourth time - and she loves the service.
The 28-year-old, whose children are Paige, seven, Imogen, five and Autumn, who is nine-months-old, said:"Being a photographer, I love things like that and thought it was an amazing idea.
"Having images and a DVD of your baby is one thing, but having a real model to hold is so unique. It is so special to be able to hold a caste of your baby's face before it is even born. With Autumn, we had a bonding scan which you can have between 29 and 31 weeks.
"This is the scan where they can see all the features and you get an idea of what your baby will look like. I have got photographs of Autumn when she was seven hours old and she looks exactly the same as in her bonding scan."

Politics / Churches Must Be Prepared To Pay Tax From Their Businesses, Says FRCN by AKAKAK(m): 9:36am On Jan 18, 2016
The Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria (FRCN) has called on the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) to delist churches that are not prepared to pay tax from their business ventures.

The Chief Executive Officer of the council, Mr Jim Obazee, made the call in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja on Tuesday.

He said that the call became necessary in order to ensure accountability and probity in the financial activities of religious bodies especially churches and other non-profit ogranisations.

“Religious organisations are the ones saying they are not bringing their audited accounts. But they don’t really have a very strong platform to stand on. We will do one more workshop to educate them.

“And then we call on Corporate Affairs Commission to start delisting them. They are registered with Corporate Affairs Commission.

“If they are registered with CAC under part C as non- profit organisation and they refuse to be accountable – because when they do their registration, they put within the registration documents they gave to CAC that they will be holding Annual General Meeting and presenting to their members audited financial statements – and we lay this before the CAC, they will delist them.

“And once they delist them, they seize to be non-profit and they become with profit. So every of their collection will now be subject to tax.“

Obazee said that the council was planning a roundtable with the leadership of churches and other non-profit organisations over the new accounting standards the council had earlier introduced to them.

“Who are those that render accounts? Any entity, who collects money, whether you are taking money from the bank or you are taking money from investors, you have to render stewardship.

“That is our major challenge with the churches. We are insisting that non-profit organisations should prepare accounts and send to us and churches are in court fighting us.

“So we are wondering why people who ordinarily talk about giving your account, teaching you how to account to God, how you run your life are refusing to account to stakeholders on how they manage funds that are received from people who believe in the objectives that they are pursuing.

“Government business is to protect its citizens and citizens are the ones putting its money in all these not for profit.

“So we want to know; how accountable are they? and if they pursue non-charitable activities like running schools, hospitals, airlines and all of that, we want them to account for those ones separately as profit-making entities.“

Obazee said that henceforth, religious bodies would be expected to submit to the council their statement of financial position, statement of income and expenditure, statement of changes in net assets and statement of cash flows.
