PoliticsDesperate Pdp Agents Disrupt Labour Party Solidarity Rally by akelicious(op): 3:39pm On Aug 28, 2022
By Dons Eze

A solidarity rally for the Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, and his running mate, Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, in Enugu, on Saturday, was disrupted by the infiltration of some agents of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the State, who were allegedly sponsored by a former Governorship Candidate of the Peoples’ Democratic Party, Capt. Everastus Nnaji, popularly known as Odengene.

Everest Nnaji had, in consort with some stakeholders of the ruling PDP in the state, deceptively convened a conference tagged “Charity Begins At Home,” using the platform of the Obedient Group and the Labour Party.

The rally which started with a road walk, attracted both the young and old, who were dressed in various T-shirts and caps, with a bold inscription: “Obi-dients”, commenced peacefully at the Michael Okpara Square, to the Kobb Event Centre, Polo Park, where leaders of the party addressed the supporters.

The hall was however decorated with Labour Party logo and inscription “Charity Begins At Home”, powered by “OPM”, Odegene’s political pressure group. Close observation also showed that there was a handful of known PDP members already seated in the hall, with the women wearing yellow browsers.

The event took off peacefully with excitement and enthusiasm, and people were hailing Peter Obi and Datti as men who are coming to change the narrative in Nigeria.

The event began to turn sour when it was observed that the brochure for the “Charity Begins at home” had the picture of Evaristus Nnaji (Odengene), as Labour Party Gubernatorial candidate for Enugu State. The bubble got burst when the Master of Ceremonies introduced Odengene as “the next Governor of Enugu State”.

Instantly, supporters of Chijioke Edeoga, Labour Party Gubernatorial Candidate, rose in unison and started chanting in solidarity: “Edeoga K’anyi ga eso, Ma ona Eje-eje Ma Ona Ana-ana, Edeoga K’anyi ga eso.”

They asserted that Chijioke Edeoga is the only Gubernatorial Candidate of the Labour Party in Enugu State, and that any other person is an impostor. For over forty minutes, activities at the Event Centre were grounded as Edeoga’s supporters refused to beat a retreat, insisting that nothing would take place until the anomaly was redressed.

It took the intervention of security officials and other party leaders to placate the supporters, who moved in their numbers, out of the hall to continue their protest.

When normalcy returned, leaders of the party explained that the event was organized to shore support for Obi and Datti, and not for endorsement of any governorship candidate.

They urged people of the South East to support Peter Obi, because he is the best Presidential Candidate that can fix the country, stressing that Nigeria’s healing was about to become permanent, and that the thrust of that healing is Peter Obi.

“Today peace has eluded the North because one man wanted to rule at all cost in 2015 . They could not manage the bandits they imported, but in Peter Obi, we are sure the country is secured.”

EducationASUU: UNIZIK Announces Comprehensive, Indefinite Strike by akelicious(op): 4:12am On Aug 26, 2022
..Rejects federal government’s award of salary to University lecturers, with the very insulting increment

...Education of Nigerians is not a priority of government

...None of the genuine demands of ASUU has been given requisite attention by the federal government

Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Anambra State has announced a comprehensive, total and indefinite strike action over what it termed government’s intransigence and lack of commitment to reaching agreement with the Union.

The body, in a statement issued by its Chairperson, Stephen Ufoaroh said the decision was in agreement with the National, Zonal and Branch leaderships targeted at saving the soul of nation’s public universities.

It accused Federal Government of paying lipservice to education, insisting there was no going back to the industrial action until all issues at stake were satisfactorily resolved.

The lecturers appealed for continued solidarity from parents, students and entire citizens in the struggle to give Nigerian youth quality education.

The statement reads in part, “Congress noted with dismay the continued imbroglio on the current lingering industrial action, occasioned by intransigence, and lack of commitment by government (both Federal and State) on the genuine demands of ASUU.

“Congress decried various intrigues and lies to malign the reputation and genuine demands of ASUU by the Federal government, including various propaganda tools, campaign of calumny, falsehood and misinformation. Congress categorically debunked the various claims of Government as lies.

On Government’s negligence and repudiation of the reports of the various Government Negotiating Committees (The Prof. Jibril Munzali Committee of May, 2021, and the just concluded Prof Nimi Brigg’s Committee), ASUU NAU Congress viewed the Federal government’s attitude as irresponsible, reprehensible and symptomatic of a divided and confused house.

“Congress rejected the Federal government’s award of salary to University lecturers, with the very insulting award’ of 35% increment for Professors at bar and 25% for other levels of academics, on a take-it-or-leave-it-basis.

“Congress observed that the award of salary negates the principle of collective bargaining, and an insult to the sensibilities of the finest intelligentsia of the nation’s human capital development.

“Congress observed that the education of Nigerians is not a priority of government; that the Strike could have been avoided if government had considered education a priority.

“On the press briefing by the Minister of Education on 17th August, 2022, Congress took note of the fruitless effort by the minister  to misinform Nigerians to the effect that every issue with ASUU has been resolved except the issue of salary arrears for the months ASUU had been on strike, which, as he stated, government was not willing to pay and would not pay, to serve as a deterrence to strike.

We wish to state categorically that at no time was the issue of salary arrears discussed with the Minister, as no agreement has been reached on the important issues that necessitated the strike. This statement by the Minister is diversionary, irresponsible and condemnable.

“And coming from a man who on 15th November, 2013 urged ASUU to continue the strike and expand the scope of its struggle, the failure of integrity test, the lack of character and the shock and disappointment of inconsistency is colossal to say the least.

“Congress observed that none of the genuine demands of ASUU has been given requisite attention by the FGN. THESE ARE: Re-negotiation of the 2009 FG-ASUU Agreement; Adoption of UTAS (which came first in the test by the Government) as a replacement for IPPIS as a payment platform; Payment of salaries arrears  for academic staff; Payment of Earned Academic Allowances (EAA); Revitalization funds for the universities; Release of White Paper on Visitation Panels that concluded their assignment last year; and Non-proliferation of State  Universities.

The much the Buhari-led administration has done was a promise of implementation of ASUU’s demand in 2023, when perhaps, he must have left office, thereby shifting his responsibility to the next government.  Congress viewed the government promissory note as abdication of responsibility.

“Against the backdrop of government’s intransigence and lack of commitment to reaching an agreement with ASUU on the contentious issues, after over six (6) months of industrial action, ASUU-NAU ultimately resolved for a comprehensive, total and indefinite strike going forward, until all issues at stake are satisfactorily resolved between the Union and the Federal Government.”

PoliticsNDDC Director Not Arrested by akelicious(op): 2:30pm On Aug 25, 2022
The attention of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, has been drawn to a story published by the Vanguard, The Nation, Punch, Premium Times and few other news journals, alleging that the Director, Finance and Accounts of the Commission, Mr. Eno Ubi Otu, has been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, “in relation to a case of alleged diversion of over N25 billion tax remittances.”

Management wishes to categorically, and without equivocation, state that Mr. Eno Ubi Otu was only invited by the EFCC as part of a routine procedural investigation into non remittance VAT over a 15 year period, raised by the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), ostensibly orchestrated by persons seeking to be named in the forthcoming Board of the Commission. It is important to state that this period covers when the Director was not even a member of the Commission’s Management Committee. EFCC has therefore only invited him to provide more clarity to their investigations. Mr. Eno Ubi Otu was not arrested.

Indeed, Management views with grave concern the report that there is an attempt to uncover “how N25 billion was looted and how it was shared.” It is also to be noted that this is mere conjecture by the reporters, since such information has not been attributed to any individual, neither did the EFCC’s spokesman, Mr. Wilson Uwujaren, provide such information, neither did he confirm it. To imply therefore a criminal liability is most reckless and distasteful, even to the least standards of ethical journalism.

As an agency of the Federal Government, the commission, has reached out to the Federal InlandRevenueService (FIRS), another agency of the same government, to ascertain the actual inter-agency claims, to enable the office of the Accountant General of the Federation to effect a direct debit transfer to FIRS , taking into consideration huge income due to NDDC from unpaid Ecological Funds and shortfalls on monthly statutory remittances, as provided for under section 14(2) of the NDDC Establishment Act.

The alleged issue of diversion of VAT by our Finance Director, as reported by the media is most unfortunate. The distorted and distractive news item is viewed in line with a contrived media campaign orchestrated by some unproductive persons who are bent on getting appointed into another interim management in NDDC. The ulterior motives of these individuals are already known; which is to grab an opportunity from the government and use same as ATM for the upcoming 2023 general elections! Nothing about service or value addition.

The commission hereby advises members of the public to disregard the twisted online news.

PoliticsAnother Failed Attempt To Discredit Nddc Interim Administration Uncovered by akelicious(op): 2:46pm On Aug 22, 2022
The attention of the executive management of the niger Delta Development commission, NDDC, has been drawn to a publication in the Guardian of Monday, 22nd August, 2022, entitled : "stakeholders seek sack of NDDC interim boss over alleged plan to extend tenure".

The story alleges that some persons in cohort with some nddc staff, are employing various means including legal tactics to extend the tenure of the interim Administration, is not only misleading but untrue.

The so-called stakeholders claims that those seeking redress in court in any matter , instead of resorting to violence, are being sponsored by the NDDC interim Administrator, Dr Efiong Akwa, and the executive management of the commission do not even understand the fact that neither the CEO nor executive management,is part of the general staff union.

The claims of these enemies of the region stand illogical on its head as Dr Akwa and the executive management of the commission are bent on delivering/ commissioning projects meant for the good people of the region.
What is playing out from the publication smacks of desperation of the highest order, by some persons and groups who wants to ride on the back of cheap blackmail to seek appointment into the proposed new board of NDDC or be part of another round of interim management or Acting Administration in the commission.
The NDDC wishes to state clearly that neither Dr Akwa nor the NDDC management has any hand in any court process as claimed in the mischievous publication. We urge the public to discountenance all publications purporting to emanate from from unidentified groups or court processes falsely being linked to NDDC.

Politics2023:gov. Hope Uzodimma Heads Apc Presidential Campaign In South East by akelicious(op): 12:15pm On Aug 07, 2022
Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State has been appointed to head the APC Presidential Campaign in South East. This is as a result of his tenacity in ensuring that the party wins all the elective positions in the zone ahead of 2023 General *Elections*.

This development is as a result of the move by the ruling party to create Zonal Directorates for the six geopolitical zones. Each of these geopolitical zones is to be headed by a serving Governor as rectified by the National Working Committee(NWC) and approved by President Muhammadu Buhari.

Gov. Hope Uzodimma few weeks ago had assured South-east stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) that he and his fellow governors will ensure that peace and adequate security of lives and properties returns to the zone before the forthcoming general elections.

He went ahead to charge the reconciliation committee of the party to ensure that they bring everybody onboard while reminding party executives and *faithful* of their duties to man their polling units, wards and local government areas on election days and see that the party is voted for at all levels.

This appointment brings more responsibility and encouragement to Gov. Hope Uzodimma who has been vocal about his desire to see the entire South-east become an APC zone and will further work towards galvanizing votes for the APC and its Presidential Candidate in 2023.

With Gov. Hope Uzodimma in-charge of the South-east Zone Presidential Campaign, there is no doubt that the zone will unite to support and vote massively for the APC Presidential Candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu who has all it takes to govern the country.

He reiterated that “the Federal Government has made huge commitment in the Niger Delta region, in furtherance with its desire to give the people a new lease of life, taking proactive steps to responding to the issues of the region, adopting and implementing more prudent policies and programmes that will bring about a better region.”

While commending the efforts of the ministry at helping to reposition the NDDC to ensure it delivered on its mandate, the President stated that the implementation of the forensic audit report has commenced in phases and would soon usher in a new management and board for the NDDC.

He commended the ministry for its efforts at harmonizing all developmental plans of all agencies and development partners operating in the Niger Delta region into a single integrated regional developmental plan, adding that it would provide a good strategy for the sustainable development of the Niger Delta region.

Acknowledging the importance of the ongoing East-West road project to the nation’s economy, President Buhari reassured that the project would be completed before the end of the present administration.

He expressed optimism that the retreat will bring about the repositioning of NDDC to work amicably with the ministry to promote team work and build better understanding between the organizations.

The minister stated that the mission of changing the narrative in the region would be realized when the NDDC and MNDA work together “in one accord and focus on the core mandate of both institutions, in the spirit of one government.”

Umana commended President Muhammadu Buhari and Niger Delta stakeholders on his mission to fast track the rapid development of the Niger Delta region, by assigning specific achievable deliverables to the ministry, adding that part of reinventing the Niger Delta would require new strategies and different work approaches.

The Minister of State of Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs, Sharon Ikeazor, expressed gratitude to President Muhammadu Buhari and the Federal Government, as well as the ministry, NDDC, all development partners and stakeholders “for their unwavering commitment and support towards up lifting the quality of life in the region.”

Politics2023: You Are No Match For Atiku - PDP Mocks Tinubu by akelicious(op): 7:48pm On Jun 08, 2022
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) mocks Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu for clinching at very great price, the Presidential ticket of the moribund, decrepit and crippled All Progressives Congress (APC), which has since served out its purpose as a fraudulent contraption that brought in the failed, corrupt and rudderless administration of President Muhammadu Buhari.

This expression was contained in a press statement released by the National Publicity Secretary of the party Hon Debo Ologunagba on Wednesday.

See details:
“Our Party also sympathizes with Asiwaju for embarking on a journey to nowhere as he is no match for PDP’s more popular, more competent and more prepared Presidential Candidate, His Excellency, Atiku Abubakar the unifier and the people’s choice, who defeated President Buhari fair and square in the 2019 Presidential election.

Asiwaju will soon realize that Nigeria is not one of his acquired estates or fiefdoms and that the Nigerian people are not his political string-puppets and retinue of lackies, from whom he bought the APC Presidential ticket.

Asiwaju will also soon realize that Nigerians hold him responsible for his self-confessed role in installing the failed Buhari-led administration that subjugated the people, brought excruciating economic hardship, acute poverty, bloodletting, terrorism, mass killings, promoted disunity, tribalism and nepotism, lawlessness, massive treasury looting and unpardonable life-discounting experiences to our country.

It is indeed reprehensible that Asiwaju, after being handed an APC flag that refused to unfold in recognition of the gloomy times of the APC, did not demonstrate any form of remorse for the injuries he engineered and caused our nation in the last seven years.

His failure to express empathy for the victims of violence, kidnapping, mass killings and acts of terrorism, especially the recent gruesome attack in a sacred place of worship, St. Francis Catholic Church, Owo in Ondo State serves as a foretaste of the big cover up and harrowing experience that Nigerians will face, God forbid, should Asiwaju emerge as President in 2023.

His acceptance speech further exposed his manifest lack of capacity, presence of mind, resourcefulness and selflessness to manage the affairs of a nation as complex as Nigeria.

From Asiwaju’s egotistic outbursts before and after the APC manipulative National Convention, it is crystal clear that his life-long dream of clinching the APC Presidential ticket is not for the wellbeing of Nigerians but out of desperation to lay hands on the keys to the nation’s treasury.

Asiwaju has insulted the sensibilities of Nigerians enough and this APC National Convention will be his final political outing. This is because Nigerians have had enough and are now, more than ever before, ready and out on the platform of the PDP to defend our nation and reject Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu in the 2023 Presidential election.

The Nigerian politics is far more complex and beyond the Lagos politics where Asiwaju operates with brawl and deployment of violence rather than brain.

What Nigerians needs now is a unifier in the face of the pain and discomfort inflicted on them by Bola Ahmed Tinubu, his live band of APC looters and mean human beings. He needs to know that Nigeria is not Lagos!

The PDP therefore charges Nigerians to continue to stand shoulder to shoulder with our Presidential Candidate, Atiku Abubakar, their choice President in this mission to Rescue, Redirect and Rebuild our nation from the misrule of Asiwaju and his APC.”

Recall that only last year President Muhammadu Buhari, through the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, commissioned the impressive Special Protection Unit Base 6 Barracks of the Nigeria Police Force in Omagwa, Rivers State.

President Buhari noted: "This singular intervention demonstrates that NDDC understands the importance of government’s effort at improving the lives and livelihoods of our police officers, in line with my directive that building of barracks for men and women of the police force should be done in collaboration with the Special Housing effort of the Family Home funds."

PoliticsKogi Assembly Under Lock And Key, Maze Hidden by akelicious(op): 7:01am On May 12, 2022
In the heat of preparations against the 2023 elections where serious aspirants all over the country are trying to meet up with the completion and submission of forms deadlines, news have been making the rounds in Kogi State that the State Assembly complex has been closed down and the maze reportedly hidden. This, newsmen gathered was to foil an investigation plan into the activities of the Speaker of the House Rt. Hon. Prince Matthew Kolawole (and consequently, other principal office holders) over allegations of mass fraud the most recent being using the Assembly Account to secure loans for himself.

Sources close to the Assembly reveal that the investigation plan may not be unconnected to consistent financial misappropriation by the Speaker who was living affluently, owning five star hotels and clubs in Kenya, Abuja, Ilorin and even in Lokoja, the State capital while other members were struggling to survive. This is the third time of such investigation news in the life of the 7th Assembly which began in June 2019.

Our reporters who went to the Assembly complex to ascertain the correctness of this information met the legislative building under lock and key with no one from whom to get reasonable information about the situation of things. Some Assembly members were seen at the APC Secretariat submitting their nomination forms but declined to speak with our reporters.

Fingers are however pointing to the State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello as the man who gave order for the closure of the Hassan Katsina Road complex housing the Legislative arm of the Kogi State Government. One then begins to wonder why the Governor has continued to protect the Speaker from formal investigations into allegations concerning him and how long he would continue to shield the corrupt man.

The Kogi State House of Assembly is made up of 25 members and presently, all from the ruling APC.

PoliticsProjects Completion: NDDC Taking A Cue From President Buhari – Efiong Akwa by akelicious(op): 1:37pm On May 02, 2022
By Gideon Ekere

The Interim Administrator of Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, Dr. Efiong Okon Akwa has said that the commission is taking a clue from the President Muhammadu Buhari in rapidly completing ongoing projects in the Niger Delta region in the last one year.

Speaking at Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, where he was honoured by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, ICAN, at the Institute's 2022 annual dinner and awards, Dr. Akwa noted that NDDC is taking after President Buhari in meeting with the expectations of the Niger Deltans.

He said: "The templates adopted by NDDC in delivering its core mandates are driven by the passion of President Buhari. He is a committed leader who has a strong interest in the welfare of Nigerians and the overall progress of Nigeria and that is the reason for the completion of abandoned projects and many other projects in the region"

The NDDC boss added: “NDDC is working on the directive of President Buhari, under the supervision of the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Godswill Akpabio, in excellent delivery of projects, excellent execution of ideas, excellent planning, and excellent management of resources. You can see how projects that were abandoned for many years are being completed without delay.

“NDDC is also taking a cue from the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs. You can see what the Honourable Minister has done in the ministry within his short stay. Even as the governor of Akwa Ibom State you can attest to the fact that his signature projects are still speaking volumes today. That’s the spirit he has imbibed in NDDC, which is the reason you are seeing many positive changes in the commission today.”

Dr. Akwa, who received the ICAN merit award in the member's category, stated that though he has received many awards in the past, "I can assure you that this one is very dear to my heart. It means that the little we’ve been doing in NDDC are being noticed. What that means is that after now, we are going to increase the frequency of project delivery for the benefit of the people in the region."

Earlier in her remarks, the President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, Mrs. Comfort Olu Eyitayo, announced the opening of a new technology delivery hub at its Ebute-metta office, saying that a new network of relationship with existing tech hubs both within proximity of Yaba and environs as well as similar centres across the nation will help ICAN-BoI hub to build its presence in the innovation and inventions tech community.

While congratulating the award recipients, Mrs. Eyitayo said that those selected for the awards "are people who have distinguished themselves in their fields of endeavours".

Other awardees at the event include the Executive Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu; Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Bank of Industry, Mr. Olukayode Pitan; Managing Partner/CEO, PKF Professional Services, Chief Tajudeen Akande; Chief Executive Officer of NorthWest Petroleum & Gas Co. Ltd, Dame Winifred Akpani and the Past President of ICAN, Alhaji Razak Jalyeola.

PoliticsS-east PDP Guber Screening: Naira Rains As Journalists Are Barred by akelicious(op): 2:15pm On Apr 28, 2022
...Aspirants from Abia, Ebonyi, Enugu pay N5 million each for exercise

The South East zone of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has barred journalists from covering the screening of governorship aspirants from Abia Ebonyi and Enugu States.

Journalists who had thronged the South East zonal office of the party at Independence Layout, Enugu, were told that the zonal chairman of the party, Alli Odefa, did not want the media to witness the screening.

According to the men at the party's office, the exercise was an internal party affair.

One of them said that the chairman had directed reporters to vacate the premises of the party until after the first screening session.

This is just as naira on Thursday rained at the PDP governorship screening at the South East zonal office.

According to some of the aspirants who spoke to journalists after their screening, each of them was mandated to pay the sum of N5 million as a condition to participate in the screening.

One of the aspirants from Abia said, "My brother, to be a governor is not easy. Imagine that we were asked to pay the sum of N5 million as a precondition for the screening.

"I know this is a way to raise money for the party in the zone considering the fact that we only have two governors now in the region. But, I think the amount is a bit too high considering that all of us are condemning APC for making their forms unreachable for an average Nigerian".

PoliticsNDDC Partners With Imo State Government To Complete Projects, Signs MOU by akelicious(op): 6:28pm On Apr 26, 2022
Niger Delta Development Commission and Imo State Government have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), as part of a partnership to facilitate the completion of key projects in the state.

The MOU covers the dualization of Port-Harcourt-Owerri-Avu-Ada Palm-Etekwuru Road, Phase 1, Ohaji Egbema Local Government Area; emergency repairs of failed and unmotorable section of Nkwerre-Umudi-Isieke Nese Road with drainage and Nkwerre Internal Roads in Nkwerre Local Government Area, as well as the reconstruction and rehabilitation of Imerienwe-Etche Road.

At a ceremony at Government House, Owerri, the Interim Administrator of the NDDC, Dr. Efiong Akwa, said the Commission will synergise and partner with the governments of the Niger Delta to ensure the commission’s road projects are completed, stating that the Commissioncould no.longer work at cross purposes with its stakeholders.

Dr. Akwa said that the partnership was meant to ensure the completion of major road projects, especially the 24-kilometre dual carriage way linking Imo and Rivers through oil-bearing communities in both states.

He noted that due to "security challenges experienced by the expatriate contractors handling the projects" it had become imperative to work with the state government who understand the security dynamics of the areas, as well as local contractors who know the people, in order to effectively implement the projects.

The NDDC boss assured the governor that the Commission "will play its part in making the resources and manpower needed for the job available."

The Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma, who acknowledged the challenges, stated that “the lingering problems of non-accessibility and non-commissioning of multiple road projects embarked upon by NDDC for 14 years were due to environmental hazards, insecurity, youth restiveness and inability of the contractor to manage the local environment.”

Senator Uzodimma declared: "This is the reason why I approached the CEO of NDDC and requested that we work together to find a lasting solution to the problem," and promised to support the Commission by providing competent state-based engineers, local contractors and manpower to ensure the prompt completion of the projects."

The Governor, who lauded President Muhammadu Buhari and the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Godswill Akpabio for directing the NDDC to complete all its on-going projects, stated that the projects will bring more development to the state and communities.

PoliticsOffor Godwin Blasts Pro Jonathan Protesters, Calls Them "Shameless" by akelicious(op): 12:25pm On Apr 22, 2022
A political analyst and commentator on national issues, Comrade Offor Godwin has described the pro Goodluck Jonathan protesters as " Shameless" .
This came shortly after a group of people were said to have stormed the office of the former president Goodluck Ebele Jonathan urging him to contest the 2023 presidential election describing him as the only one who could return the country to her past glory.

Comrade Offor noted that these people were only out to lure Jonathan into the contest inorder to make money out of him and bring his name to disrepute. He then advised Goodluck to turn deaf ears to their request which lacked sincerity and instead remain the peace maker and bridge builder that he has been.

It will be recalled that as the 2023 general elections timetable released by INEC continue to count in days, there has been a good number of Nigerians declaring interest for the number one position and groups canvassing for their preferred candidates all with various slogans.

World Renowned Poet Amu Nnadi & Singer Pamela Scott Release First Single, 'amazing'

By Martins Ogolo

The much anticipated first single from Amu Nnadi's new album "Everything Beautiful" comes out on Easter Sunday, April 17th , 2022. The song, titled 'Amazing', was created from his poem of the same title in his fourth book, "a river’s journey" (published in 2016) and is performed with Pamela Scott.

Amu Nnadi is a multiple award-winning poet, incluing the prestigious Glenna Luschei African Poetry Book Prize in 2014, whose works have been adopted by several universities as literature materials.

Recall that last year he launched his book, "the love canticles" and introduced Nigerians to his forthcoming album. He disclosed to this writer that the album is ready and a new single would be released every month until the full album's unveiling in Octocer this year. Other collaborators on this impressive album include August Chuks, Feelix, Amutolani, Tarri Guitarri and Buchi of Today FM.

Pamela Scott, who is a soft rock, neo soul singer, songwriter, acoustic guitarist and producer, has released four singles and an EP, titled "Who I Am", which gained recognition in the Nigerian music industry. Her voice is described "a soul on its own, capturing all who listens to her."

She is known for her message of God's love and hope and declares "I sing my truth and my truth sets me free."

The song, which begins with the words, "We belong to a great and immeasurable universe, which we cannot fathom," is a deeply philosophical piece which reflects the brilliance of Amu Nnadi’s poetry and the beauty of Pamela Scott's singing and craft.

According to Amu Nnadi, "It's amazing how many planets we find but inhabit one earth, how many fruits there are but only a few we eat. It's amazing how many stars in our universe, but how few we know, how much knowledge there is and how so small our minds.

"We think ourselves masters of the universe, the true emperors, but sadly, how so little we know, how so little man is. No matter how greedy, no man can own the world. No matter how much water, our earth cannot drown in it."

PoliticsNddc Re-assures National Assembly, Debunks Publication by akelicious(op): 3:14pm On Apr 07, 2022
The attention of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, has been drawn to an advertorial in the Vanguard newspaper of Wednesday, April 6, 2022, by the Movement for Sustainable Development of the Niger Delta, MSDND, and signed by its National Coordinator, Chief Ayibatekena Olodin.

The group in the advertorial entitled: “Niger Delta Group Hails Akwa, Cautions Senators, Reps Against NDDC Blackmail,” tried to portray members of the National Assembly as people working against the interest of the Commission by investigating its activities.

The NDDC Management states unequivocally that it has nothing whatsoever to do with this group and dissociates itself from the views expressed in the publication.

Contrary to the uninformed position canvassed by the Ayibatekena Olodin-led group, the NDDC had always received the support of members of the National Assembly in matters relating to the development of the Niger Delta region.

We had enjoyed maximum cooperation from both the Chairman, Senate Committee on Niger Delta, Senator Peter Nwaoboshi and the Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on NDDC, Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, in our quest to enhance our service delivery to the people of the Niger Delta region.

Obviously, the Movement for Sustainable Development of the Niger Delta did not get its facts right, otherwise it should have known that Hon. Tunji-Ojo is neither a member of the Senate Committee on Ethics and Privileges nor its counterpart in the House of Representatives.

The NDDC has every reason to be grateful to the legislators, especially Senator Nwaoboshi and Hon Tunji-Ojo, for the modest achievements it recorded in the last two years. When the Interim Administrator, Dr Efiong Akwa, was appointed, the Commission was operating without a budget. The lawmakers ensured that the budget was passed quickly, allowing the Commission to deliver on its mandate of developing the Niger Delta region.

The Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Godswill Akpabio, acknowledged the contributions of the lawmakers in his speech at the inauguration of the Muhammadu Buhari Nigeria Police Special Protection Unit, Base 6 Project in Omagwa, Rivers State on September 28, 2021. He said: “The National Assembly has been a big pillar of support for the NDDC.”

It is, therefore, preposterous for any group to present the NDDC as an organization that bites the fingers that feed it. We urge all our stakeholders, especially members of the National Assembly, to disregard the vexatious advertorial in the Vanguard newspaper.

We hereby sound a note of warning to all detractors to stop stoking the embers of distrust between the National Assembly and the NDDC. The Commission has been enjoying a good working relationship with the lawmakers and we intend to maintain these positive engagements in the interest of the people of the Niger Delta region.

The NDDC Management holds the distinguished and honourable members of the National Assembly in the highest esteem.

CrimeHow Creditall Loan Apps Is Ripping Masses With Unsolicited Loan by akelicious(op): 7:16am On Mar 30, 2022
CreditAll is one of the Nigerian loan apps who are subjected masses to serious physical and mental emotion, their representatives always subjected Nigerians to physical and mental tortures via abusive and derogatory words and I'm a living witness of such unprofessional behavior.

Some weeks ago, precisely, on Sunday morning, I woke up to see their credit alert on my phone, I was highly surprised because I did not requested for such loan from them.

Immediately, I went to Playstore to download the app to get their contact and hopefully to have a discussion with them. I was able to get a contact on the app and I made a call to them, I called the number severally to inform them of such creek gift sent to me, but they failed to pick my series calls.

I also went further by dropping message on their WhatsApp, they did not reply my calls and I also dropped same message of notification of not requesting for loan from them.

Not yet done, I also sent sms in that regard, yet I got no response from them. I did this for about four days, CreditAll failed to acknowledged my message but after a week one of their representatives called to inform me of the loan I collected from them and I told him outrighly that I did not request for any loan from them and immediately I returned the money sent to me to their account.

However, after two days, another representatives from this loan app told me that I should pay the interest on the money, I also vehemently told him that I'm not owing them a kobo.

This last Sunday, another representative of this app called me about the said interest and also told her that I did not request for any loan from them, this lady admitted that sometimes their app do credited customers who are not indebted to them without their consent.

But, this very afternoon another rep of the app also messaged me on whatshap that due to my inability to pay the interest on the loan that I did not request for, CreditAll shall tag me a fraudster and inform all my the contacts on my phone that I defrauded them.

This lady also used some unprinted words like animal, bastard, stupid and fool on me. She also promised to inform all my contacts that I'm a fraudster.

I think, this is what many Nigerians are passing through in the hand of this app, why would a loan be given to person without his knowledge and consent, this is high time the government should take drastic step on some of this loan app who are making life difficult to Nigerians.

These are some of the numbers been used to threatening me by the loan App 09120180630, 09120180556.
