ENOUGH IS ENOUGH: Release Obiano Now Or We Storm EFCC Head Office Naked - Anambra-North Women Empowerment Movement (AWEM). The Anambra-North Women Empowerment Movement (AWEM) through it's Chairperson has issued stern admonitions to EFCC for it's reckless and unprofessional behavior towards handling the case of the former Governor Of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano. The Chairperson of A.W.E.M, in the person of Chief Mrs Uju Ifunanya Edochie , strongly condemns the vile trending online video clip of Chief Willie Obiano while in EFCC custody. It is quite obvious that the particular video was taken without Chief Willie Obiano's knowledge nor consent and as such, this premeditated brouhaha by the EFCC seems to veer into a caricature and witch-hunting which is a mockery of Nigeria's judicial due process. The Former Governor, Willie Obiano, was one of the leading performing Governors in Nigeria as he had profound achievements in agriculture, health, education, infrastructure, commerce and trade, security, employment rate, civil service as well as state economy. Under the administration of Willie Obiano, Anambra State experienced a new dawn at sunset. Anambra ranked lowest in poverty index, unemployment rate dropped drastically, three jumbo rice mills were established in different parts of the state, 17 iconic bridges and flyovers were constructed with numerous standard roads throughout the state, functional street and traffic lights were mounted on all roads, built the first Anambra Airport and so on. Ndi Anambra frowns sternly at this disgraceful and unruly act displayed by the EFCC. Appropriate and humane trial tactics should be exercised by EFCC . In conclusion, Chief Uju Ifunanya Edochie , stated that EFCC facility is not safe if they could humiliate an Ex-governor , made video of him in their supposed protective custody , sent to social media for the public to mock . The group threaten to protest at EFCC Abuja office naked if EFCC don't release urgently the Ex-governor, Obiano. https://www.akelicious.net/enough-is-enough-release-obiano-now-or-we-storm-efcc-head-office-naked-anambra-north-women-empowerment-movement-awem/

The attention of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, has been drawn to a spurious publication on some dailies and online news channels by some Ijaw Youth Group, alleging that the NDDC has paid the sum of N20 billion naira to ghost contractors by their spokesperson one Ebilade Ekerefe in Yanagoa Bayelsa State. The NDDC, wants to state categorically that it did not pay any N20 billion naira to any ghost contractor or any one for that matter as demonically alleged by the group. The said sponsored group who claim to be Ijaw Youth further call for the probe of monies that were never spent by the Commission is not only laughable but most unfortunate. The pubic is hereby put on notice, that these spurious lies are being masterminded, fabricated and orchestrated by persons who are positioning their relatives and associates for ultimate appointment into the Board of the NDDC. These individuals, who are hell bent on using all manners of gimmicks to arm twist the President into appointing their relatives, cronies or associates into the Commission’s board, feel that the only way they can achieve their selfish desire is by using false allegations and blackmail against the hardworking Minister of Niger Delta Affairs and the Interim Administrator in order to get the attention of Mr. President. The Commission for the umpteenth time states without mincing words that it never paid N20 billion naira to any ghost contractor and therefore challenges the authors and fabricators of these malicious allegations to come out with proof or name the Companies of these “ghost contractor.” The NDDC under the Interim Administration and the supervision of the Hon, Minister, Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs, will continue to be focused and prudent in the management of its resources for the benefit of the people of the region and will remain committed to the vision of President Muhammadu Buhari. The Commission, therefore, urges all well-meaning Niger Deltans and Nigerians in general to disregard these self-seeking elements and the concocted figments of their blurred imagination. By Vincent Ujumadu CHIEF George Moghalu, who recently obtained a judgement from the Federal High Court, Abuja annulling the All Progressives Congress, APC, primaries that declared Senator Andy Uba the candidate of the party in the November 6, 2021 Anambra governorship election said yesterday that he would have disappointed Nigerians if he did not challenge the exercise in court. Moghalu, a former national auditor of APC and Managing Director, National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA) was among the 13 governorship aspirants of the party who insisted that there was no primaries. He later went to court and the court ruled that APC did not have a credible candidate for the election because it not conduct a credible primary. Speaking for the first time since the court ruling, Moghalu said despite the party’s poor performance at the Anambra governorship poll, he was satisfied that the right thing was eventually done. He said although he had wished that his party APC, won the Anambra election, the process that produced a candidate for the party was faulty. According to him, rather than regret the failure of APC in the election, what should preoccupy the minds of party members is how to rebuild the party and win back the confidence of the people. He said: “It is not a must that I will be governor because power belongs to God and he gives to those he pleases. Maybe it’s not God’s time for me to be governor and I am not desperate about being a governor. “At the same time, I would have failed in my responsibility if I didn’t seek redress and accepted the fraud. The judgement agreed with me and confirmed my position there was no primary. “What we did was not about an individual but about the system and stopping impunity as well as creating enabling environment for democracy to thrive. I insisted the party does what is right. “For every sincere APC member that loves the party, what should concern us is how to rebuild our party, resolve our differences and address our challenges. “We must win back the people’s confidence, rather than wasting our time struggling for leadership. You don’t elect or appoint a party leader; it evolves from the people. “It may not surprise you that the other day, someone said they’re going to sack me from the party. I’m not surprised. But the truth remains that it’s an anomaly for a tenant to sack a landlord. “I am a critical stakeholder of the party. You may not like my face, but when APC was formed, I was a member secretary. I didn’t join APC, I was part of the formation. “So when someone who we were magnanimous to accommodate is boasting that he wants to sack me, I laugh. I am waiting for them.” https://www.akelicious.net/anambra-apc-primaries-i-would-have-failed-nigerians-if-i-didnt-go-to-court-george-moghalu/

President Muhammadu Buhari Thursday in Abuja directed all statutory contributors to NDDC to ‘’remit all outstanding funds to the Commission, and to ensure this is done transparently and according to laid down procedure and process". The international oil companies, the major contributors to the NDDC funds, owe the Commission about $5.6 billion and N649 billion. The oil companies have not met their statutory obligations to the Commission in many years, according to Senator Godswill Akpabio, Minister of the Niger Delta, whose ministry supervises the interventionist agency. He spoke in a press conference earlier in the year. Such a huge debt profile has certainly hampered the performance of the Commission, and this explains why the President is issuing the pay-up order. The Nigerian leader has also directed the Commission to go an extra mile to revive and complete all abandoned projects that directly impact the livelihood of the people of the Niger Delta Region. Speaking at the commissioning of the a 1,050-capacity hostel built and donated by the Commission to the University of Uyo, President Buhari noted that the just-concluded forensic audit of the Commission was being reviewed, ‘’with a view to recovering every kobo that is recoverable, while those found culpable will face the law’’. In addition to IOC’s outstanding payments to NDDC, the Commission had in the past been buffeted by corruption, poor governance and waste of resources. The President alluded to these in his speech, noting that it was regrettable that the special development fund of the entire region was squandered by a few for more than 20 years, leaving many in penury. He announced that the report of the forensic audit is being reviewed and those that have been indicted would make refunds to the government. “The Niger Delta Development Commission needs to demonstrate that it can achieve the objectives it was conceived for and make its impact felt all over the Niger Delta Region. The lives of the people of the Niger Delta could be so much better, if the funding received by this commission since its inception, in billions of naira over the last 20 years, have been judiciously deployed in service of the people", said the President. The hostel complex is a big, modern and well-appointed facility. The contract was first awarded in 2004, but was abandoned due to many issues. The completion and inauguration of the hostel project are due to the earlier directives from the President for the Commission to focus on important projects. This is the third of such high-impact projects built by the NDDC that the President has inaugurated in 2021. It’s an unprecedented achievement in the 22-year history of the agency. “The serial abuse, lack of delivery and what had become an entrenched institutional decay, was the reason why I called for the forensic audit’’, the President said, speaking through satellite hook-up from the State House in Abuja. The inauguration event was a big celebration for the university community. Both the Student Union President, speaking on behalf of the over 40,000 students of the 38-year-old institution and the Vice Chancellor, Professor Nyaudoh Ndaeyo were effusive in their praises for the Commission and the President. They both presented plaques to the President to symbolize their appreciation of the new hostel block. NDDC’s chief executive, Dr. Efiong Akwa, in his welcome remarks expressed his ‘’appreciation to all the staff of the Commission, service providers, stakeholders, particularly the governors who opened their arms and embraced the new spirit we are determined to enthrone in the Commission’’. Senator Akpabio described the hostel as ‘’a beauty to behold’’, and pledged to work with the Commission to complete other projects as a legacy of the President. Many other dignitaries spoke at the event. They include the VC, Senator Peter Nwaobishi (Chairman Senate Committee on NDDC) and Rt. Hon Olubunmi Tuni-Ojo. They all commended the NDDC for delivering high-impact projects in the last one year.

President Muhammadu Buhari has directed all contributors of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) to remit all outstanding funds owed the Commission to enable it pursue its mandate of developing the Niger Delta region. President Buhari gave the order in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, while commissioning the ultra modern 1050-bed space hostel built by NDDC and donated to University of Uyo. He stated: "I want to use the opportunity of this commissioning to direct all statutory contributors to the NDDC to remit all outstanding funds to the Commission, because the Management has shown that it can manage its affairs with prudence, transparency and accountability." According to figures released by NDDC, the Federal Government and the oil companies owe the Commission N1.9 trillion and $4billion (about N2.2 trillion), respectively, according to the NDDC Establishment Act 2000. President Buhari stated that "the forensic audit, which was completed a few months ago, is achieving one of its core objectives, adding: "That objective is to rebuild NDDC into an agency that is well equipped and better placed to facilitate sustainable regional development." He said that NDDC "should be given all necessary support it deserves from stakeholders and commended the Commission’s management, led by its interim administrator, Dr. Efiong Akwa, for a job well done. In his welcome address, Dr. Akwa assured that there is a new spirit in the NDDC "permeating the Commission's affairs and how it approaches its mandate of sustainable regional development." He stated: "It is a spirit, the New NDDC spirit, inspired by President Muhammadu Buhari and fuelled by the Honourable Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Godswill Akpabio, which compels greater enthusiasm that we can deliver on our collective promise to the Niger Delta region and our people."

... Federal Government, Oil Coys owe NDDC over N4 trillion By Francis Udoka Ndimkoha The Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, has pledged to settle all verified outstanding claims by it contractors in its efforts to facilitate sustainable development of the oil-rich region. A source close to the Interim Administrator of the Commission who spoke on condition of anonymity said the NDDC boss was saddened that contractors who had done their jobs were still being owed many years after completion. He said that the NDDC boss regretted the closure of NDDC headquarters by aggrieved contractors and called for patience "to achieve an amicable resolution." The source, who is a director in NDDC, said: "The Interim Administrator is not happy that contractors who had completed their jobs were yet to be paid. There is no reason to owe these contractors except the fact that enough funds have not been released to NDDC to take care of the debt." He disclosed that the Federal Government was owing the Commission over N1.9 trillion, while the oil companies owed in excess of $4billion (about N2.2 trillion). "This huge indebtedness to NDDC is far in excess of what the Commission owes its contractors and has exposed us to this kind of situation," the director added. He also disclosed that the bulk of the indebtedness was inherited from past administrations of the Commission. He stated: "The Interim Administrator has been very prudent and circumspect about adding to the Commission's liability with new contracts. But he is determined to clear the debts because he believes that those who have worked for the Commission deserve due reward." The source said that President Muhammadu Buhari set up a reconciliation committee "headed by the Minister of Finance to determine how much is owed NDDC and reconcile the accounts." He stated that President Buhari and the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Godswill Akpabio, "are concerned about the situation and must be commended for all efforts being put in place to ensure that all monies owed NDDC were paid. This will be resolved soon so that contractors can receive payment in this Christmas season." He added: "The Interim Administrator is working tirelessly to pay outstanding debts and calls for calm and patience from all aggrieved contractors and service providers."

Over the years, many talented artists are reaching a large fanbase. Most of them take all that it takes to bring out good music to their fans. According to the headline, a Real Deal Records affiliate has vowed to take over the music industry from Davido and Wizkid. The name of this supertalented artiste is KINGSKID. As we all know, it takes a lot of potentials to overcome two musical giants in the industry. When talking about Davido and Wizkid, we all know they are giants. According to KINGSKID, he is coming to take over the music industry from them. KINGSKID tends to be a talented being who is always balanced on his lyrics and bars whenever he dishes out a new track. The melody given to him by God is somehow magnificent, and I dont think there is a singer like him in the industry at the moment. With a Wester Pop genre mixed with some afrobeat melody, he is worth overtaking Davido and Wizkid. Along with his self-assurance and self-awareness, KINGSKID possesses the rare talent of producing hip-hop/rap music that appeals to a broad audience. One of Nigeria's best-known producers, "DABEAT," has collaborated with him numerous times on various projects. The 25-year-old IMO STATE native is a rising star in the world of hip-hop. WIZKID has had a major influence on his music and lifestyle. Music concerts and fashion exhibitions have been booked by his manager HENRY UKACHUKWU - better known as HENRY B KLASSIC. His extensive travels have taken him across Nigeria and to the South American country of "BRAZIL," a regular tourist. While he's preparing to break into the mainstream, his music has gained a following among the people of Nigeria. There will be a lot of collaborations shortly, one of which features the current craze in music, PHYNO FINO, the Nigerian rapper, singer, and composer. In other news, KINGSKID is dropping a new song very soon to wrap up the year 2021. When you listen to "CASHOUT," you'll hear the best of both worlds, as it seamlessly blends western pop with African rhythms and melodies. REAL DEAL RECORDS' Ezeh Divine Ifeanyi, known for his Afrocentric pop sound, stepped up a notch on CASHOUT. DABEAT, a well-known and respected music producer, deserves all the production credit. https://www.akelicious.net/i-am-taking-over-the-music-industry-from-davido-and-wizkid-kingskid/

Recalling how the late Azuka met his tragic end, his father stated that it began in the wee hours of Monday, October 18, 2021 when a military personnel, attired in mufti, visited the home of the deceased and 'invited' him out. The duo soon arrived the construction site of Enikkom Nigeria Limited, an oil services firm operating in the area, whereupon the late Azuka was promptly accused of having masterminded the stealing of an Armoured cable worth about N300,000. But curiously, instead of handing over the "accused" to the Police for proper investigations - especially as the deceased vehemently proclaimed his innocence - the military personnel, who was apparently attached to the company, proceeded to mete out severe life-threatening torture on Azuka. First, he was thoroughly beaten up, then put into a drum filled with a mixture of diesel and petrol and then covered up for several hours, from 11 am to around 5 pm, the petition to the COAS explained. "When they saw that he was almost lifeless, his tormentors proceeded to compel him to eat, but because of his poor state, he couldn't, managing to take in only a spoon before relapsing," the petition stated. Chief Ossai stated that it was at that point that the torturers decided to take a hapless Azuka to the Aboh Divisional Police Station, but the Officer in charge of the station seeing the condition of the 'accused' refused to take him in, but rather urged the Army personnel and his cohorts to take the victim to the hospital. Sadly, however, the middle aged man gave up the ghost on the way to Brema Hospital, where the Doctor on duty certified him brought in dead(BID). The perpetrators, the petition stated, then proceeded to deposit his remains at St. Luke Mortuary, Kwale, Ndokwa West LGA, without recourse to any member of the late Azuka's family member. "It is sad to observe that an Army personnel would leave his primary obligation and choose instead to perform the duty of the Nigerian Police, which is supposed to handle the so-called case of alleged stealing," Chief Ossai said. The petitioner named one Onyeniche Ossai, also a native of Aboh, as the person who reportedly mentioned the late Azuka Ossai as a suspect in the loss of the Armoured cable - requesting that he, alongside all those who had a hand in the death of his son, must be brought to justice. https://www.akelicious.net/extra-judicial-killing-family-petition-army-authorities/

Controversial Islamic cleric, Ahmad Gumi has predicted that Nigeria would face a more dangerous security situation if proactive measures are not taken to curtail the ethnic crisis in the country. Gumi, who has been advocating amnesty for the bandits terrorizing parts of the North, said activities of the criminal elements and how it is been handled by the security agencies may lead to religious terrorism. In a recent video posted on his official Facebook page, the Islamic cleric alleged that a former Deputy Governor of Zamfara State told him how some bandits were granted amnesty and brought into their government. He said, “As we speak now, bandits believed to be herdsmen have kidnapped about 66 Christian worshipers and they came out with the clip, unlike before. “Religious terrorism is truly setting in. February this year when I went to meet some of these bandits, they were humble and had no inclination of terrorism. “In fact, the Deputy Governor of Zamfara State, the former one, told me that in the years when he was in power, some herdsmen caught with Boko Haram members who were trying to infiltrate their territory were caught and brought into the government. “We are struggling with ethnicity, it has nothing to do with religion so if care is not taken, we will be facing a more dangerous situation more than even Boko Haram”. https://www.akelicious.net/nigeria-may-face-security-situation-worse-than-boko-haram-gumi/ Click the link to watch the video https://www.instagram.com/tv/CWIvx6SD4k0/?utm_medium=copy_link

Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Raji Fashola has said Nigerians don’t appreciate their presidents until they are dead. Fashola stated this as a guest speaker at the Yoruba Tennis Club public lecture. He blamed it on the poor understanding of the powers of a president. The former Governor of Lagos State also said lack of proper interaction between the president and Nigerians was responsible for citizens not liking their presidents while alive. “Of all the Presidents we have had, Nigerians never loved any one of them while in office; we seem to love them after they have left or died. “Why is that so? To me, the answer is lack of depth in interaction. “Nigerians are not sufficiently familiar with the constitution and the role of which offices are expected to play. It seems to me that we are expecting the right thing from the wrong place,” he sai https://www.akelicious.net/nigerians-dont-appreciate-their-presidents-until-they-die-fashola/

The Interim Administrator of the Niger Delta Development Commission, Efiong Akwa, says that the Commission must be transparent in its operations to better deliver on its mandate to the Niger Delta region. Speaking during a two-day Workshop for management staff of the interventionist agency in Port Harcourt, Akwa declared that one of the biggest challenges to achieving organisational goals was lack of transparency and integrity. "This workshop is part of on-going efforts initiated by President Muhammadu Buhari through the institution of the forensic audit into the activities of the Niger Delta Development Commission from inception to make the Commission better prepared to discharge its mandate to the Niger Delta region and Nigeria," he said. Akwa stated that the core objective of the workshop was not just to re-orientate the participants to a new ideology of transparency and integrity, "but to offer knowledge and skills required to work more effectively." The NDDC Chief Executive Officer stated: "The expected outcome is to enhance the performance and job delivery efficiency of all the Commission's staff to ensure that we are better equipped to offer the Niger Delta region a service that meets their expectations and dreams. And this is very vital to the life and relevance of this Commission to be able to facilitate the sustainable development of the Niger Delta diligently, efficiently, and effectively. “As a Commission, the task before us is to establish the institutional framework that will support the prudent and diligent discharge of our duties within the legal and institutional demands for integrity, decency, and due process.” Akwa observed that the workshop would help to create a new zeal among the staff, encouraging them to become champions for transparency at all procedural and structural levels of work in NDDC. “To achieve our mandate," he stated, "we must be willing and determined to be the change we seek for the Niger Delta region. We must be willing and ready to comply with the civil service rules, financial regulations, as well as with the ICPC, EFCC and CCB acts and other extant rules and laws in Nigeria. “The Federal Government, under President Buhari, and our supervising Minister, Senator Godswill Akpabio, is keen to establish within the Commission, and within us all, a new attitude towards our duties within the workplace. If we must become change agents, we must be equipped adequately to do what is right, within the law and our moral obligations. That is the new spirit we must embrace in NDDC. That is the new NDDC we must, collectively, build. We owe it to ourselves, this Commission, our stakeholders, and this great region. In the end, we will stand right before man and before God.”

Why am I supporting Rotimi Amaechi for president of Nigeria 2023? That’s a good question, and perhaps there’s no good way to answer it. Or perhaps there is a good way to answer it. Either way, it’s a good question. 2007 Amaechi had hinged his socio-economic strategy on security of life and property; fiscal discipline, investment in education, healthcare, power generation, road construction, agriculture, and human capacity development. By the time he was sworn into office, Rivers State was on the brink of anarchy, due to the activities of marauding militia groups disguised as Niger Delta militants. Mindful that it would be challenging to undertake developmental projects under the prevailing climate of fear, which had forced several multinationals and individuals to leave Rivers, he vowed to restore law and order. Backed by the late President Umaru Yar’ Adua, he ordered a major military offensive in December 2007 in Okrika that dislodged members of the Niger Delta Vigilante led by Ateke Tom and other raids across the state. Amaechi supported the security agencies in the areas of logistics and equipment as well as training of the police anti terror squad in Israel to enhance their capacity to provide security for residents. Due to his zero tolerance policy against brigandry and banditry, before the late President Yar’Adua granted amnesty to the militias whose activities claimed several lives and destabilised the state, in 2009, Amaechi had restored law and order in Port Harcourt and other parts of the state. However, the security situation has deteriorated in the last two years due to the compromise of the security architecture as a result of faceoff between the presidency and Amaechi. But as he leaves office, many Rivers residents, particularly the poor, would remain grateful to the Amaechi’s administration for the social changes it promoted and implemented over the past eight years, particularly in the education and healthcare sectors. Prior to 2007, the state’s educational system had broken down, due to years of neglect that left basic infrastructure in the 1,300 primary schools with six classroom each, in ruins. School buildings with dilapidated roofs and where children in overcrowded classrooms sat on bare floor to learn, was a common sight. The desire to reverse the situation spurred Amaechi to declare a state of emergency in the sector. First, he decided to fix the infrastructural deficit by constructing 500 out of the 700 planned new modern 14 classroom primary schools, retraining and recruitment of 13,000 teachers. , over 250 of these schools were equipped and the pupils were provided with free uniforms, free school sandals, free school bags and free textbooks. Several hundred Rivers indigenes and non-indigenes benefited from the state undergraduate and post graduate overseas scholarship schemes. Regarding healthcare delivery, his administration built over 110 health centres located in nearly all the wards in the state. He also built referral facilities in Port Harcourt – Prof. Kelsey Harrison Hospital and Dental-Maxillo Facial Hospital, To tackle the excruciating traffic congestion in Port Harcourt and its environs, Amaechi, within the first six years of his reign, expanded into dual carriage ways the following: Rumuola to Rumuokuta Road, Wimpey Road, Ada George Road, Old Aba Road, Ikwerre Road (beginning from Education to Agip bus stops), Woji/Elelenwo/Akpajo Road, Azikiwe Road, Olu Obasanjo Road, Rumuokuta/NTA/Choba Road, Oginigba Road, Stadium Road, Okporo Road, G.U. Ake Road, Nkpogu Road, Port Harcourt/Owerri Road. In addition, the Rumukwurushi-Igwuruta as well as the Garrison-Trans Amadi-Elelenwo to East West Road,. He is reputed to have constructed or upgraded more roads in the history of the state, more than all his predecessors. To ensure food security and employment generation, the government collaborated with the founder of the Songhai Initiative to develop an integrated farm, which combines livestock, arable farming, fisheries, snail farming and poultry on 314 hectares of arable land in Bunu-Tai. The then governor also developed modern fish farms in four councils of the state. The farm in Buguma has a capacity for 1000 tonnes per year, but is unfortunate that the present Government of Rivers state came and stopped everything concerning Songhai etc( we don't know why) Other strides in agriculture include, the acquisition of 2,000 hectares of land in Ogoni for the cultivation, production and export of banana for commercial purposes in partnership with a Mexican firm, San Carlos Nigeria Limited. It was expected that about 6 million boxes of banana will be produced from this farm yearly, so sad the present Government also put an end to it. “Amaechi has set a standard that will be difficult to match. Amaechi showed he was 100 years ahead of every state in Nigeria. I choose Rotimi Amaechi for president come 2023 Mrs Opem Udose.
