A delegation from the Newspapers led by the Managing Director and Editor in Chief, Mrs Funke Egbemode conveyed the message in a notification letter they brought when they paid the Governor a visit at the governor's Lodge, Amawbia. The award which is the fifth the Governor is receiving in less than three years is in recognition of the laudable achievements his administration has recorded during the short period of time it had lasted. Conveying the message, the leader of the delegation, Mrs Egbemode who said good governance is all about leaders knowing what they want to achieve and having a clear blueprint through which it goes all out to realize its objectives, acknowledged that Governor Obiano has exhibited traits of a good leader by the way he is administering the affairs of the state. She said, it is commendable that when other Governors are intensifying their tax yoke on their people to be able to meet their statutory responsibilities, the governor is not only meeting its statutory obligations but also introducing economic palliatives to cushion the burden of the present economic recession on Ndi Anambra. According to her, the company instituted the awards as part of its corporate social responsibility towards expanding the frontiers of excellence in good governance by recognizing and honouring distinguished service to humanity by leaders. Responding, Governor Obiano who expressed delight that he was found worthy for the honour, revealed that a lot of local and international organizations have continued to recognize him, recognitions he emphasized were made possible through the support of Ndi Anambra across board. What appears another embarrassing moment for Nigerian football may be at foot, unless urgent steps are taken to avert an alleged plan by players and officials of the Super Falcons to stage ‘a no pay, no work’ protest at the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) secretariat in Abuja. The Super Falcons are in Abuja preparing for defence of the African Nations Cup (AWC) title in Cameroun later this month. There were reports last week that the players were planning to shun the tournament due to failure on the part of the NFF to settle their bonuses and allowances for the two-legged matches against the Teranga Lionesses of Senegal, which gave Nigeria the qualification ticket in April. But an NFF official, who spoke with The Guardian on the issue yesterday said that the federation was ‘so broke’ saying: “If the players are complaining over non-payment of bonuses and allowances, what will they say about the head coach and her two assistants, who have not been paid their salary since they were appointed in March.” “I am sorry to reveal this, but there is really nothing to hide about it because things are really looking bad for the NFF in terms of finances. We have so many things to do, but money is not forthcoming. I pity our president (Amaju Pinnick) because he is the one shouldering the burden,” the source said. The source further hinted that like the players, the coaches are equally grumbling silently over the non-payment of their eight months salary, adding that some top officials of the NFF were ‘avoiding’ them. full details at http://www.akelicious.com/2016/11/cash-strapped-nff-cant-pay-falcons.html#more

Patience, wife of former President Goodluck Jonathan had claimed ownership of the money. The companies – Pluto Property and Investment Company Limited; Seagate Property Development & Investment Co. Limited; THe said, “The EFCC received an intelligence report showing vividly that the fourth to seventh defendants retained proceeds of crime.rans Ocean Property and Investment Company Limited and Avalon Global Property Development Company Limited – are linked with a former Special Adviser on Domestic Affairs to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, Waripamo-Owei Dudafa. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, had in August frozen the accounts of the four companies and seized the $15m in the course of probing Dudafa for money laundering. On Thursday, Justice Babs Kuewumi convicted the four companies after they earlier pleaded guilty to money laundering. EFCC prosecutor, Mr. Rotimi Oyedepo, reviewed the facts of the case and told the court how the companies laundered the money. Oyedepo told the judge that the money was stolen from the State House, Abuja.“Our investigations showed that Fetus Iyoha admitted receiving the fund from the first defendant (Dudafa). Iyoha is a domestic staff at the State House. “He admitted that funds credited into the accounts were given to him from the State House.” Oyedepo said Iyoha paid $3,096,377.38 into Pluto’s account; $3,410,534.71 into Seagate’s account; $3,765,711.87 into Trans Oceans’ account; and $250,000 into Avalon Global’s account. He said the accounts of the companies were domiciled in Skye Bank. Justice Kuewumi admitted the account statements in evidence. He also admitted their mandate cards, certificates of incorporation and statements made to the EFCC by the companies’ representatives. While convicting the companies of money laundering, the judge said he was satisfied that the EFCC had proven its case beyond reasonable doubt. President Muhammadu Buhari have said if anybody has a country to go to, let him go, that we will stay here and salvage our country. In a statement issued on Tuesday by the special assistant to the president on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, Buhari said this when he received Niger Delta leaders. “We are determined to make life comfortable and affordable to all Nigerians. Gold in our dreams is a very disputable sign. On the basis of different sources, it can be interpreted very differently. Its meanings even contradict each other. We’ll provide you with the fullest range of its interpretations below. Then, it is up to you whether to take them all into consideration or not. According to some sources, seeing gold in your dream is identified with material wealth. Your family isn’t and won’t be in need for anything, at least in the nearest future. Remember your hard way to gain all this and the fact that you can lose everything in a blink if you aren’t attentive and responsible. To have a penny to your name in the future, don’t waste money with both hands. Invest them in some business, use sparingly or save. Also, a dream with gold can symbolize some pleasant and unforgettable moments from the past. Maybe, nostalgia for something or somebody will seize you soon. Don’t be surprised when you receive an invitation to a college/university or school reunion. You’ll be pleased to recollect the past events. Sometimes, we should devote us to this to lighten our heart. Other sources interpret an image of gold in our dreams as an unfavorable one. They assume that a person who saw it in his/her dream will be impoverished soon. He/she will have to undergo hardships. That’s why it is very dangerous to lose your heart if something goes wrong, no matter whether it happens because of you or somebody/something else. In such a case, you have to take a situation under control not to lose everything and catch at a straw. If you do everything you can, the result won’t keep you waiting, and your financial difficulties will be overcome rather soon. Holding the gold in your hands denotes that you’ll be successful almost in any business you get down to. So, if there is some idea/ideas on your mind, don’t hesitate and start bringing it to life. There are good chances that it will be very beneficial for you. It will help you to create happy future. Don’t miss such a great opportunity. Manchester United wonderkid Marcus Rashford may seem like he has been on the scene for a long time, but the youngster only this week celebrated his 19th birthday. And to mark the celebrations Rashford's older brother Dwaine Maynard decided to upload a throwback image of the United superstar, showing a time when the striker was just a young, football-loving hopeful. Maynard took to Instagram to share the image of a young Rashford wearing a baggy pair of Manchester United shorts, accompanied with his trusty childhood football. The weathered white football is affectionately labelled 'Marcus's ball' in black marker pen, likely scrawled on by the England international himself. Rashford was picked up by Manchester United's youth academy during his school days and has been part of the Red Devils' set up ever since. Since breaking through into the United senior team, under previous manager Louis van Gaal, Rashford's rise has been nothing short of meteoric. Rashford made 11 appearances during his maiden United season of 2015/16, scoring five times along the way and creating six chances. The striker also boasts the impressive record of having scored on his Premier League debut, Europa League debut, England international debut and EFL Cup debut. The youngster also got himself on the score sheet in his first ever Manchester derby, scoring the only goal to give the Red Devils a crucial win over bitter rivals Manchester City. Under current manager Jose Mourinho Rashford has made eight appearances so far this season, finding the back of the net three times. The striker has found himself leading the forward line along with Swedish superstar Zlatan Ibrahimovic, though the Red Devils' form on the field has been the subject of much discussion. United currently find themselves in 8th place in the Premier League table after ten games played. Read more at http://www.akelicious.com/2016/10/marcus-rashford-seen-in-throwback-snap.html?m=1

A lot of people associate content curation with social media, news jacking or other methods used to get short-term traffic boosts. While all these things are types of curation, there are also additional ways you can curate content that will provide lasting benefits to your website and help you reach your long-term traffic goals. There are still a few publishers and content marketers who are a little leery of content curation because they feel it is inferior in some way to creating original content. But, when done well, curation is a form of original content creation. When you add your own point of view to a curated piece of content or you put it in context for your specific audience, you really have created something new. The real test of whether or not curated content is “good” is to ask if your work adds value. For instance, if you’re compiling a list of reputable resources for people who want to learn more about project management, you are actually creating a new resource yourself – one for those readers who wouldn’t know where to begin their search otherwise. So, what types of curated content add value and are also most likely to increase your site’s traffic? Here are a few ideas you may want to try. 1. Compile statistics on a specific subject. Even people who claim to hate math love to quote numbers. If you take the time to compile a collection of statistics on a particular topic from reliable resources across the web, people will love you for it. Just be sure to cite each source you use, and whenever possible, include a link back to that original source. To really add value to this type of curated collection, you may want to look into creating your own charts and data visualizations. You don’t need a lot of graphic design experience to do this. Take advantage of free tools like Google Chart Tools and Piktochart. Or, you can create charts and tables in Microsoft PowerPoint and export each one as an image to include in your article. 2. Share relevant infographics, videos and SlideShare presentations. Videos, infographics and other types of multimedia content are great traffic magnets, but they can also be expensive and time-consuming to produce. If you don’t have the resources to create your own, you can still showcase these content types on your site by curating the best items that are relevant to your subject matter and adding your own commentary. For example, if primary education is one of the topics covered on your site, you might want to curate great educational videos from YouTube and embed them on your site. Then, as part of your commentary on each video, you can include ideas for incorporating it into lesson plans and links to additional resources on your site that would also work well for those lessons. 3. Pull together similarly-themed photos. If your site covers a highly visual topic – such as cooking, crafts or home improvement – you can create curated collections of third-party photos on specific topics of interest, like fun Thanksgiving centerpieces or neat ideas for a bathroom remodeling project. With all these cases, be sure that you have permission to use the photos first either by explicitly asking the photographer or by reviewing any license accompanying the photo. Not sure where to find photos you can use? You can check sites like Flickr and limit your search results to certain types of Creative Commons licenses. You can also use Google Image Search and filter your results. To do this, click on Search tools and then select the appropriate license type from the Usage rights drop down list. 4. Create lists of excellent resources on any topic. Another type of popular curation format is to compile a list of third-party resources that you have pre-vetted for your readers. If you have other content on your site that falls into this category, you could include is as a resource as well. In fact, sometimes a nice mix of third-party and on-site content in a resource round-up can be a great tool for generatin Read full details at http://www.akelicious.com/2016/10/5-way-to-use-content-curation-to-grow.html?m=1

President Muhammadu Buhari yesterday warned that his administration would not allow “mindless groups to hold the country to ransom. The President who regretted that “a new insurgency has reared up its head in the shape of blowing up of gas and oil pipelines by groups of Niger Delta militants,” said: “No group can unlawfully challenge the authority of the Federal Government and succeed.” In a message to mark the country’s 56th independence anniversary, Buhari said: “What sense is there to damage a gas line as a result of which many towns in the country including their own towns or villages are put in darkness? What logic is there in blowing up an export pipeline, and as a result, income to your state and local governments, and consequently ability to provide services to your own people, is reduced?” The President, however, said: “Our administration is fully sympathetic to the plight of the good people of Niger Delta and we are in touch with the state governments and leadership of the region. It is known that the clean-up of the Ogoniland has started. Infrastructural projects financed by the Federal Government and post amnesty programme financing will continue. We have continued to dialogue with all groups and leaders of thought in the region to bring lasting peace.” Buhari told Nigerians: “I know that uppermost in your minds today is the economic crisis. I know how difficult things are, and how rough business is.” He, however, added that he believed the current economic recession would not last. Let me say to all Nigerians today, I ran for office four times to make the point that we can rule this nation with honesty and transparency, that we can stop the stealing of Nigeria’s resources, so that the resources could be used to provide jobs for our young people, security, infrastructure for commerce, education and healthcare. I ran for office because I know that good government is the only way to ensure prosperity and abundance for all. I remain resolutely committed to this objective,” said the President. The anniversary was low-keyed, and was attended by prominent Nigerians including Vice President Yemi Osinbajo; former Head of State, Abdulsalami Abubakar; former Vice Presidents Alex Ekwueme and Namadi Sambo; former Chiefs of General Staff, Commodore Ebitu Ukiwe, General Oladipo Diya; and President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki. Buhari inspected a quarter guard mounted by men of the Brigade of Guards before proceeding to the forecourt of the Presidential Villa for a salute and rendition of the national anthem. Moments after the ceremony, he signed the anniversary register, released pigeons, and assisted by dignitaries, cut the anniversary cake. On his anti-corruption campaign, Buhari said the menace “must be fought with all the weapons at our disposal.” He, however, noted that his administration would “adhere strictly to the rule of law,” even as he appealed to the judiciary to join the fray. The President blamed the economic recession on critical shortage of foreign exchange and destruction of pipelines by “Niger Delta thugs”. “Consequently, the naira is at its weakest, but the situation will stabilise. There are no easy solutions, but there are solutions nonetheless, and government is pursuing them in earnest,” he said. Fielding questions from State House Correspondents, Osinbajo said: “I think it is a time for a lot of hope and expectation. I think that in the next few years, we will demonstrate the real capacity of our country everywhere. We will prevail.” Saraki said: “We have been able to achieve a lot for the country. I am sure in present times, people will wonder what we are celebrating. As a country, we have stayed united. We have taken up a lot of challenges and we have come out better. I believe we have the capacity and the experience to do it this time around. People just have to believe in the country and we will get there.” Saraki added: “Things are tough. And I have said many a time that we must face the reality. I don’t think it is insurmountable. I believe that we can do it. Like I said earlier, we have stayed united, we have stayed focused, determined and hardworking. It is not something that we cannot achieve. The potentials are there.” read full details at http://www.akelicious.com/2016/10/saraki-we-have-been-able-to-achieve-lot.html?m=1

Please read on Tese are the preliminary list of lies from President Buhari's 2016 Independence Day Speech. More may be exposed as I detect them. President Buhari lied when he said only ₦400 million was voted for housing in 2014. A total of ₦12,888,821,003 was allocated. Even the salary of the staff of the housing ministry is above ₦400 million. President Buhari should be above lying. President Buhari lied when he said Nigeria was 'a pariah' under GEJ. Then British Prime Minister, David Cameron and incumbent German Chancellor, Angela Merkel do not visit pariah countries. They and many others visited Nigeria under Jonathan. President Buhari lied by saying 'Investors from all over are falling over themselves to come do business in Nigeria'. The reverse is true. According to Bloomberg, the divestment of foreign investors from Nigeria is unprecedented. Not only are foreign investors fleeing Nigeria faster than jets (an exaggeration on my part to demonstrate pun as airlines use jets) no fewer than 5 foreign airlines have left Nigeria. Don't take my word for it. Google it yourself. President Buhari lied when he said only ₦12 billion went to roads in 2015. Between 2014 and 2015 SURE-P Government intervention spent over ₦70 billion on roads. Please again Google this by yourself. About five tankers believed to be laden with petroleum products were destroyed in a fire outbreak on Saturday morning at the Ekpan Tankers’ Park near the Warri refinery in Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State. A building near the scene of the incident was also engulfed in the process. The inferno began at 7 pm on Friday evening. It started when one of the tankers which had already lifted petroleum product from the Warri refinery developed a fault and workers were loading the product into another tanker. When Akelicious visited the park at 11 am on Saturday, the fire was still raging despite efforts by fire fighters from the Nigerian Gas Company and the state government to extinguish it. Our correspondent gathered that efforts of the fire fighters could not prevent the fire from spreading to other tankers nearby.A worker in the refinery who refused to give his name claimed that the fire was caused by a stick of cigarette that was not properly quenched by a smoker. read full details at http://www.akelicious.com/2016/10/five-tankers-in-delta-in-fire-outbreak.html?m=1

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has bemoaned the rate at which candidates who sit for WASSCE indulge in exam malpractice.Speaking with newsmen today, WAEC PRO Demianus Ojijeogu was quoted saying:We encounter malpractice during the examination and during marking. Some leave the expo in the answer booklets. We see that all the time. Others use other answer booklets different from the council’s own. But, we discover these things during marking because the booklets do not have our serial numbers and they are not usually signed by the supervisors. Supervisors usually sign the booklets before they are given to the candidates. We have been able to handle impersonation through our biometric process but there is still collusion where candidates will copy exactly the same answers usually dictated by a teacher. We have our invigilators but the number is limited. When you leave the centre or before we get there, they will do what they want. "We no longer make noise about examination malpractice because examination supervision is a hazardous job. When candidates engage in malpractice, we just take their number and they fill a form. Some of our workers have been held hostage, female supervisors have been harassed. Read full details at http://www.akelicious.com/2016/09/waecsome-students-forget-expo-inside.html?m=1
