A 27-year-old suspected ruthlessly rapist and blackmailer has been apprehended in #Yenagoa by a team of Bayelsa State Volunteer.

The suspect, Knakumo Aniso, was nabbed, two weeks after breaking into the house of a 4-month-pregnant lady identified as Gesiere, and raping her at gunpoint.

Another lady, Peace, also accused Aniso of raping her on Monday, May 6, 2019, under the Tombia bridge. The suspect has since been handed over to the police.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Benin Zonal Office, has secured the conviction of Eric Ogbemudia at the Federal High Court sitting in Benin City, Edo State.

A statement from the agency says that Ogbemudia was arraigned on a one-count charge of obtaining the sum of Eighteen Thousand Five Hundred Pounds Sterling by false pretence.

The charge reads: "That you, Eric Ogbemudia (alias David Mark) on or about the 17th August 2015, in Benin within the jurisdiction of this honourable court did with intent to defraud obtained the sum of £18,500.00 (Eighteen Thousand Five Hundred Pounds Sterling) from Mrs. Joan Gallyot, a British national under the pretense that she is one of the lucky winners of $852,000.00 (Eight hundred and Fifty-Two Thousand Dollars) Chevron/Texaco donation under its poverty reduction programme and that the money was for delivery charges of the cheque to her in the United Kingdom which you knew is false and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 1(1) b of the Advance Fee Fraud and other Fraud Related offences Act 2006 and punishable under Section 1(3) of the same Act."

Upon his arraignment, the defendant pleaded "guilty" to the charge.

Prince Harry spoke to the media at the same time the birth of his son was confirmed.

He said:

"I’m very excited to announce that Meghan and myself had a baby boy earlier this morning, a very healthy boy. Mother and baby are doing incredibly well. How any woman does what they do is beyond comprehension, but we’re both absolutely thrilled and so grateful for all the love and support from everybody out there. I haven’t been in many births, this is definitely my first birth! But it was amazing, absolutely incredible, and as I said, I’m so incredibly proud of my wife. As every father and parent would say, your baby is absolutely amazing. But this little thing is absolutely to die for, so I’m just over the moon."

A Nigerian man on Twitter, 'Laolu Samuel-Biyi just shared his experience after spending over 4-hours to review the 2019 budget line by line in a bid to point out 100 agencies that are useless and need to be scrapped.

According to him, 'the whole budget is a scam and I'll shred my passport in the end if I continue. It's worse than I thought, guys. It's bad bad. Save yourselves; activate plan B'.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has declared that President Muhammadu Buhari and the All Progressives Congress (APC) were doing a bad job in handling the nation’s security challenges.

PDP chieftain, Mr. Kassim Afegbua, said this on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics, shortly after Buhari arrived in Nigeria.

“The President has no capacity to manage us because he is busy managing himself,” Afegbua said

“I think what we have witnessed in the last four years is a replay of crass incompetence in the way and manner that the security of this country is being handled.

“And as we speak today, without sounding immodest, you will agree with me that it will be a surprise if tomorrow’s headline says no killing because almost every day when you read the newspaper it is one killing, too many,” he stated.

Reacting, presidential spokesman, Femi Adesina, reiterated the President’s commitment to tackle the security challenges effectively.

“The security challenge is almost as old as Nigeria. But we know that it spikes at some time and reduces at some time. We have challenges on our hands in different parts of the country.

“The President had been tackling that even before he travelled. It’s going to be a continuation of what he has been doing.

“Every week, there is a security meeting where the security chiefs and everybody in the security architecture meet with the President and they look at the problem and the steps being taken to solve them,” he stated.
