PoliticsRivers: Governor Woke Reveals What Will Happen On March 23 by akinhanger(op): 5:49pm On Mar 15, 2019
PDP Have Won, Our Victory Will Be Sweet - Governor Wike

I know that PDP won the elections squarely. We believe in peace, therefore Rivers people should remain calm. We believe in due process. I believe that INEC is doing their best to follow the due process.

In the end, it will be a sweet victory. The will of Rivers people will prevail.

Let me thank the people of Rivers State for the love they have shown for our great party. It is not in doubt that Rivers people have shown our party love. What is happening is sad. It is a drama.

We have 13 House of Representatives seats and the PDP clinched all of them. We have three Senate seats, one has been declared and PDP won. When the remaining two seats are declared, PDP will win them . Eighty percent of the seats declared, PDP took all.

You begin to wonder why any right thinking person would say that PDP lost the governorship election. Not that they say PDP lost to a party with a known logo, or even if you have seen the Candidate one day in your life or seen his posters to make people vote for the candidate.

For us, it is a drama. PDP won the election squarely.

Across 4442 Polling Units the results are there. The PDP won in all these areas.

Not when you hijack results at the Collation Centre. When you hijack Form EC 8C, you forget that there is Form EC 8A. Any other party can win in any other state, but not in Rivers States .

I dedicate this victory to God and the good people of Rivers State who stood firm and said that nobody can manipulate their mandate.

I urge the elected National Assembly to always place the interest of Rivers State above other considerations as they represent the state.

All those who plotted the killings of Rivers people because of their desperation to clinch power will face the consequences of their actions.

PoliticsPeace Committee Is Powerless Under This Desperate Government - PDP by akinhanger(op): 3:18pm On Mar 15, 2019
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) says the national peace committee is powerless under the current administration which it says is “desperate” to remain in power.

Kola Ologbondiyan, PDP spokesman, said this on Friday while briefing journalists on the outcome of the general election.

The peace committee had spearheaded efforts to ensure peace in the buildup to the elections.

It had, among other things, got the various presidential candidates to sign a peace accord that they will support a peaceful and transparent poll.

Addressing journalists in Abuja on Friday, Ologbondiyan accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) government of going against the dictates of the committee in an attempt to remain in power.

He, however, said it is difficult for the peace committee to call a sitting government to order.

“The committee will only function within an ambit of what the sitting government desires,” Ologbondiyan said.

“If a sitting government refuses to partner with the peace committee and chooses to act against the rule, the peace committee has no power to get the sitting government to act in conjunction with their own principles.

“So I’m not surprised that the peace committee has somewhat found itself in the kind of environment it is in. It is a different environment from what we had under President Goodluck Jonathan in 2014 and 2015.

“We are dealing with people who have no respect for rules. We are dealing with people who are prepared to manoeuvre their ways just to be in government.”

The party also said it is determined to reclaim its mandate during the supplementary elections in the five states where it has highest number of votes.

“Though the PDP vehemently rejects the cancellation of Tafawa Balewa, we stand with the people of Bauchi state, in the determination to go to the supplementary election on March 23 and reinforce our candidate’s victory in Tafawa Balewa LGA,” it said of the governorship election in Bauchi state.

“This is in addition to the resolve to vehemently resist any attempt by INEC to tamper with already declared results in the other 19 local governments of state.”

Reno Omokri, ‪a former aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, has Mocks Okorocha, Akpabio After Defected At General Elections

LEARN from what is currently happening to Rochas and Akpabio. Their people that they betrayed have REJECTED them. Those they betrayed their people for have also REJECTED them. Now they are DEJECTED and they have PROJECTED their DEJECTION on INEC that supervised their REJECTION.
1-Look at Akpabio who once boasted that “what money cannot do, more money can do”. Today, where has his “more money” gotten him? A man can’t be dancing shakushaku while his people are dancing azonto. As my South-south people will say, it is impossicant.
#LearnFromAkpabioAndRochas
2-What possessed Akpabio to ally himself to a man and party that are considered political lepers by his people? A man that was once so loved after he TRANSFORMED Akwa-Ibom, ended up TRANSFORMING himself from a political MODEL to a political MONSTER.
#LearnFromAkpabioAndRochas

3-As for Rochas, his situation would have been different only if statues could vote. By now, he would have been a Senator-elect and his son in law would have been a Governor-elect. I hope he has learnt his lesson. Invest in real people not statues.
#LearnFromAkpabioAndRochas
4-Rochas blames Oshiomhole and Uzodinma for his predicaments. How shortsighted. Does Rochas think both Adams and Hope acted on their own? Rochas should ask Buhari what he meant by ‘remote control’ when the President confessed to how APC won Osun state.

#LearnFromAkpabioAndRochas
5-And what would one say about Rotimi Amaechi? How can @ChibuikeAmaechi defend what the military is doing in Rivers? Even the usually conservative European Union was forced to speak up in defence of Rivers people. Yet Amaechi hails their oppressors.

#LearnFromAkpabioAndRochas
6-Amaechi, your time is coming. The god who failed Rochas and Akpabio will also fail you. If you like pray 10 times a day in the direction of Daura, it wont save you from reaping what you sowed. Your sin will find you and your potbelly soon. Very soon.

#LearnFromAkpabioAndRochas
7-It would have even been better for @SenatorAkpabio to allow @officialEFCC arrest him. His people loved him enough to vote for him even if he was in EFCC’s cell. Today, he‘s lost his people’s love. Worse, @MBuhari doesn’t need him again. EFCC loading!

PoliticsRelease Sokoto, Adamawa, Plateau, Bauchi Results Now Or Else. - PDP Tells INEC by akinhanger(op): 4:55pm On Mar 11, 2019
The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP), has urged the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to immediately release the results of last Saturday’s governorship elections in Sokoto, Adamawa, Plateau and Bauchi states even as it accused the umpire of playing the script of the All Progressives Congress, APC, to rob PDP of victory.

Addressing a press conference at the party’s secretariat on Monday, National Publicity Secretary of the party, Kola Ologbondiyan said INEC, “under the leadership of professor Mahmood Yakubu, has become overtly partisan, surrendered its independence to the APC and carried on as a compromised umpire with obnoxious impunity, thereby sending signals of being heavily bribed by the APC to alter results for its candidates.”

The statement read in part: “The PDP has full intelligence of how INEC is acting on instructions from the Buhari Presidency and the APC in orchestrating unwholesome situations and declaring already concluded governorship elections in Sokoto, Adamawa, Bauchi, Plateau as well as other states as inconclusive, immediately it becomes obvious that the PDP was set to win.

“This also informs the foisting of unexplainable stoppage and delays in the announcement of already collated results in other states where the PDP is clearly leading the race, from the results so far declared at the polling units.

“Our party has also been informed of how INEC is now seeking ways to use the situation to aid the APC to alter the results and announce APC candidates as winners in the elections clearly led by the PDP just as it did in the 2018 Osun State governorship election.

“In some of the states like Rivers, the PDP has information of plots by APC to leverage on the declaration by INEC to unleash more violence in the state and push for isolated election where they can bring in more security forces to concentrate on forcefully taking over the state.

“Already, in Rivers State, INEC is under heavy pressure from the Director General of the Buhari Campaign Organization and Minister of Transport, Rotimi Amaechi, to post out and replace the State Resident Electoral Commissioner, REC, as well as the Administrative Secretary.”

It vowed to resist any attempt to alter the figures in Rivers “even if the totality of our nation’s security is deployed to Rivers State.

“This is more so as results of all the state assembly elections in Rivers state have been declared and winners emerged.”

The party further counselled Professor Yakubu to play by the rules by immediately announcing the results in those states without further delay.

It continued: “Professor Yakubu must have noted how his name is becoming synonymous to electoral manipulations, among Nigerians, and the fact that our citizens and international community hold him responsible for the rigging of the Presidential and other elections for the APC.

“Today, majority of Nigerians and the global democratic institutions are questioning the state of our democracy and electoral processes, which have been under siege under the supervision of President Buhari and Professor Mahmood Yakubu.

“In the light of these INEC’s manipulative tendencies, PDP charges our leaders, teeming members and lovers of democracy in the affected states to immediately commence a march to INEC offices and use all legitimate means to protect our mandate as freely given by the people at the polling units across the nation.

Fielding questions from journalists on the sideline of the press conference, the publicity scribe said so far, 58 people have been killed, adding that the party was still carrying out its independent investigation to ascertain the number of its members that lost their lives.

PoliticsFani Kayode, Reno Omokri Makes Fresh Allegation Against INEC "Inconclusive" by akinhanger(op):
Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has accused the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, of declaring states where the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, was cruising to victory in the March 9 gubernatorial election as inconclusive.

Bauchi, Sokoto, Adamawa, Plateau was declared inconclusive because the margin between the winner and opponent was less than the total number of votes cancelled in some polling units.

But reacting in a tweet on Monday, Fani-Kayode accused INEC of declaring state that the PDP won as inconclusive.

He said, ”Most states that @OfficialPDPNig have won are suddenly being declared inconclusive. With what INEC has done all over the country, all I can say is may God save Nigeria.

”Adamawa, Plateau, Kano, Bauchi and Sokoto declared inconclusive. Rivers and Delta results suspended.

”INEC has declared elections inconclusive in 5 states where APC is losing and suspended announcement of results in 3 states where PDP is winning.

”Osun State formula ACTIVATED. Meanwhile congrats to the PDP and our candidates in all the states that we prevailed. You have done us proud.”

PoliticsNo Card Readers, No Results –INEC by akinhanger(op):
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) says the non-use of card readers may lead to cancellation of elections.

The commission said this four days to the governorship and state assembly elections.

It denied allegations that it was selective in the use of smart card readers in the presidential and national assembly elections.

Some persons and groups including the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) had alleged the commission did not enforce the use of card readers in some states during the presidential election.

There have also been speculations that INEC will not ensure strict compliance with the card readers during the governorship and state assemblies elections.

But in a statement issued on Tuesday, Festus Okoye, INEC director of voter education and publicity, described the claims as “absolutely false and without any basis whatsoever.”

Okoye said the use of the smart card reader in the elections is not only mandatory but its deliberate non-use attracts possible prosecution of erring officials.

“This is in addition to the voiding of any result emanating from such units or areas as was done in the Presidential and National Assembly elections of February 23. 2019,” he said.

“The general public and all officials engaged for the elections are hereby informed that the Commission is not reconsidering the use of these Smart Card Readers which has greatly improved the credibility of our elections and instilled a high level of public trust in them.

“To clear any doubt or ambiguity, we wish to state that the deployment and mandatory use Smart Card Readers in Saturday’s elections will not only be uniform but also universal and the provisions of the Regulations and Guidelines will be strictly and vigorously enforced. All Stakeholders are to note and be guided accordingly please.”
