davidylan:Abi oh, as if John would get all those people wet and cold in the river just to sprinkle water on their heads. . . . Again, its not the river thats important, its immersion. |
madamkoko:Seen this before. . . . and you added the last line ![]() Which infact kills the joke if you really think about it. |

Hello ![]() I have developed keen interest in video editing and have began to sharpen up my skills. I am currently using Adobe Premiere 1.5. The problem I have is with compression. As we all know, the file size of a video is exponentially increased once it is edited and exported, so as to maintain the quality. If one tries to reduce the parameters before exporting (bit rate etc), it would reduce the quality of the video. So please, those of you who are gurus in this stuff, how do you go about exporting your file such that it is able to fit on a CD and has excellent quality? Thanks. ![]() |
@tokzyt How do I download directly from wattpad.com? It keeps saying it cannot send to my phone number. |
MORE BAD BELLE. . . Olympic opening uses girl's voice, not face BEIJING (AP) - A 7-year-old Chinese girl's face was "not suitable" for the Olympics Opening Ceremony, so another little girl with a pixie smile lip-synched "Ode to the Motherland" -- the latest example of the lengths Beijing took for a perfect start to the Games.http://www.nbcolympics.com/nbc/news/newsid=200300.html?GT1=39003 Interestingly all this is coming out of the Western media. |
DeepZone:That doesn't change what the bible says, does it? How can a person who is deaf and dumb make "confession unto salvation"? If you were God, how would you handle these extreme cases? In the days of ignorance, God winked. ![]() |
ifyalways:Abi oh, some of these people attend these churches. |

I think that baptism requires a complete immersion in water. NOT NECESSARILY a river but in any body of water that will completely 'drown' the person. Why? 1. I usually like to check the Hebrew/Greek literal translation for controversial words like this because honestly, our English translators did not do an excellent job. The Greek word for baptize is 'baptizo'' and it literarilly means "to immerse, submerge; to make whelmed (i.e. fully wet); used only (in the New Testament) of ceremonial ablution, especially (technically) of the ordinance of Christian baptism:--Baptist, baptize, wash". 2. If Baptism did not require complete immersion, why would John have to go all the way to River Jordan just to sprinkle water on their foreheads? It makes a lot more sense to fetch water from the river and do the sprinkling on dry land, rather than getting the people all wet and cold. Concerning drowning, it is better to stay in the shallow end. |

Analytical thanks bro. . . And guys please try as much as possible to keep it peaceful. At least thats one thing we can borrow from our Catholic bros and siss. Gamine:You're definately right, but the bible admonishes us to pray without ceasing. I dont think there is anything wrong with making up such acronyms as long as they point us back to the scriptures. Speaking of which, here's one scripture that has almost literarilly 'revolutionalized' my prayer life: "And this is the confidence that we have in Him, that, if we ask any thing according to His will, he heareth us: And if we know that He hears us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have desired of Him" 1 John 5:14-15 The best place to find out the will of God is from His word, because He can never go back on what He has said for He is not a man that He should lie. Therefore, if there is any promise in His word that I desire for myself or for anyone, I can go to Him confidently, without any feeling of guilt or inferiority because I know that He hears me. And because I know that He hears me, I know that He has already answered. It may not come immediately but while I am waiting, I am continually rejoicing because it is no longer a question of "Will God do it"?, it's the assurance that I will see the physical (or otherwise) manifestation of the petition in His time, for there is a time and a season for everything under the sun. Isn't that so heartwarming? |

Gamine chill for them small now ![]() The convention was/is now being broadcast live on Dove Vision, a free-to-air satellite channel. Watched a few minutes of it. In those few minutes, my screen was bombarded by all kinds of business adverts. No comments, sincerely. |
madamkoko:Should God have grabbed a pen and paper and written the bible in heaven, then thrown it down to the earth? Obviously no, that's why amongst other reasons, He gave men the ability to write. @ Topic; one of the ways the devil is confusing the church is by bringing up useless arguments like these when the bible is glaringly clear on them. That's why he (devil) would get someone as influencial as Oprah Winfrey to give her own idea on 'spirituality', and make it sound as logical and innocent as possible. But it has confused and derailed so many christians. He's quite smart. |
***offtopic, please forgive me*** madamkoko:Discussions of this thread already exist. Yet it is unlocked. Is that not against the rules? ![]() https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-159045.0.html |
onyinye2:Sorry, an unintentional typo. 'B' is right beside 'N' on your keyboard ![]() onyinye2:But what is wrong with forming an opinion on people if it's informed? Some people think Seun is biased to appoint one muslim moderator for a religious section that is filled with christians, muslims and atheists. Is that judging? |
***offtopic, pls forgive me*** See how Seun sharply responded to and locked this thread; chei Fatwa no be small thin oh! https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-159114.0.html |
Oyinye2 may I crave your indulgence to define your own idea of 'judging'. |
