Enjoy while it last. Obviously, the president's right should be enjoyed by all especially in a flawed democracy like ours.
Buhari and his cohorts just have a way of making mockery of his staunch supporters.

A sad situation. Philipines already got so many challenges to face and then this one. It is a really hard situation there I must admit.
For the posters above, Philipines is not a corruption free society hence imagine the trauma.

Christianity Etc › Can A Christian Live Without The Holy Spirit? by Akposb(op): 6:23am On Jan 05, 2020
The Holy Spirit is the third of the Trinity which comprise God the father and God the son. The Holy Spirit was promised as a counsellor when Jesus was set to depart the earth for Heaven. The essence of the Holy Spirit and its operation in the life of any Christian is what necessitates the question above.

The Holy Spirit's role in the life of a Christian is as important as the word of God. Without the word of God, a Christian lives without the understanding of what it means to live a Godly life. The Holy Spirit is a part of the Trinity and if a Christian pays much attention to the father and the son, then he/she is missing out on a vital relationship.

The relevance of the Holy Spirit is as important as a teacher or a mentor in explaining a subject or showing a student the way. You will agree with me that no matter how brilliant a student is, he/she will do better when an instructor that understands them guides him/her.

The Holy Spirit is more than an instructor. Philip and the story of the Ethiopian Eunuch establish this fact. Philip was placed on the path of the Ethiopian Eunuch as instructed by the Holy Spirit. He helped to teach the Ethiopian eunuch about Christ death and his resurrection. As a Christian, if you must grow in the knowledge of God, you must be willing to seek interpretation of the scripture from the Holy Spirit no matter your understanding of the language in which the scripture is written.

The power of the Holy Spirit is duly expressed in our conscience and sub-conscious. Beyond understanding the dos and don’ts of Christianity, the Holy Spirit makes us realize the reason why living a righteous life is important. It is not a matter of too much arguments or trying to justify reality and its burdens but it is about fulfilling our role as Disciples of Christ in this world.

The truth is that Christianity is beyond being ethically complaint. It is a call to grow beyond the ephemeral knowledge of this world and its operations. It is embracing the mystery of salvation and its prime place as a change agent in our lives and the world in general.

The work of the Holy Spirit must not be underestimated especially in this time and as we head into a New Year. While some may treat New Year resolutions as trivial, I will encourage you to give the Holy Spirit a prime place in your life this year and onwards. When you do, then you will understand what abundant grace means

Indeed I won't be exaggerating if I describe these news as shocking.

I am a big fan and a regular reader of his articles on the economy. Coincidentally he died on the day when his articles are usually published by Punch newspapers. A profound intellectual is dead and is quite a huge loss.

If you want to understand the nature of Nigeria economy, then you should read his articles.

I wish him an eternal rest.
Career › Re: Ghostwriting And Copywriting: Are There Really Any Differences? by Akposb(m): 8:06am On Nov 01, 2019
Ghostwriting is almost synonymous with general article and narrative writing. It is recognized that not all who have experiences to share can document it hence the need to hire writers. No matter the implication, ghostwriters are needed.

I disagree with the fact that copywriters are known through their works. Brands and businesses work with copywriters to project their image and not the image of the copywriter. Copywriting is important for any who wants to make a big splash in the society.

In relation to boredom or procrastination which are problems listed above, I just think it is a matter of how much importance you attach to would be "achievements".

Personally, if there is financial reward attached to a project, I am up for it till completion. On the other hand, working on something with future rewards in mind can be seen as a boring task but if it must be done, then you should apply yourself.

Stave of procrastination by thinking about the rewards which might be emotional, physical, spiritual and financial.

You do not enjoy reward by wishing but having completed the required task. To your success.

TV/Movies › Lust Or Art: What Are Afrobeat Videos Selling Point? by Akposb(op): 6:31pm On Oct 11, 2019
Music is one thing I enjoy especially in a chaotic environment like ours. Once in a while, I decide to listen to music played on the various cable channels. I am forced to ask myself this question.

Are Nigerian music videos selling art or lust? I think we sell lust going by the amount of sleazy videos that are shown on various channels. Once I am seated to watch, I always have the remote control by my side just to get off suffering my thoughts unnecessarily. At least I have got my dreams to protect from unbearable sexual pressures.

It is no doubt that sex sells and we have just enough evidence. I am left wondering if Nigerian music videos could attract audience without inducing lust in the mind of its viewers. There are few examples of videos that do not feast on the lure of feminine beauty and sensuality. Probably, I am old fashioned but I am just concerned about the mental state of young persons.

I agree that such videos are not for all but most times we have little option aside these. I listen to more of gospel songs knowing I can comfortably enjoy their lyrics but there is hardly a dedicated channel for gospel songs. Also, I am a creative and just love the art of music with its ability to tell various stories.

The majority of Nigerians especially in the South cannot get enough of Afrobeats. I wonder if these musicians are just acting out a collective appetite for voyeurism or it is them forcing it on viewers. If we really practice art in music, I bet they will still sell as children and young adults could safely watch them without getting sexually excited.

Beyond morality, I wonder if we are going to win the foreign market just by displaying lusty activities in videos. Do they really care about the brash display of female sexuality or they are interested in the beat that accompanies mostly weird lyrics spurn by musicians and songwriters.

In truth, it is normal if you steer clear of videos that display obscene activities. It is normal if you do not know the purveyors of lust rather than art. It is your right as a male to choose what will enhance your innocence than wallow in the pit of lust.

This is sad to say the least.
Simple advice, work on your mind and try to "better" your relations with people.

You might be tempted to take drugs but I will advise that you pray and ask for a rest. You are good enough to stand out in the crowd.

nothing like low self esteem, just that am too shy
reading through 180+ page no easy ooo
Good appraisal on your self esteem can help combat shyness.
Why are you shy?
Either you are afraid of being judged by another as inadequate or you just feel like taking the back seat all the time. These categorization may seem awkward or off the point but if you reflect on them, you will find out they are not off the point.

One way to fight shyness is accepting that regardless of whether you are correct or not, you are a work in progress and do not put yourself under any illusion that you can't stand before anybody. Confidence in yourself and your ability to do the right thing matters.
