Politics / Boko Haram: Clearly, America Does NOT Know! - Opinion by Aksonman: 8:58am On Jul 02, 2014
Firstly US officials say they cant find Chibok girls after almost two months of their advanced survellance.

Another US report now claims that most Boko Haram weapons are from Nigerian amoury; if this is true, what happens to claims that Boko Haram uses more sophisticated arms than our army? Or does Nigeria have these sophisticated arms stored up and just refuse to use them?

Finally,i just saw a recent report where a whole CNN suggested that Boko Haram also runs a kidnapping ring in conjuction with reminants of the Niger-Delta militants. Same mainly Christian Niger-Delta militants?

Conclusion:
its either America knows more than she's telling us,thereby issuing conflicting reports so as to throw Nigerians off balance.

OR

America is totally CLUELESS as to the perculiar nature of Boko Haram.

It is begining to look as though the Chibok kidnap saga was some kind of a high level scam.
Yes, pictures have been published, videos have been released yet no one has been able to match at least ONE face on the video with that of pictures released. At least that video was clear enough.

My final take is that the Chibok kidnap saga was stage managed in order to decieve the Nigerian army not to go for an all out strike against insurgents, with the fear that Chibok girls are being used as human shields.

Now Boko Haram attacks almost every other day and the Nigerian army can no longer conduct major offensives on Boko Haram camps until the true state of Chibok girls is acertained.

Sad.

Politics / Re: Bomb Explosion In Kaduna by Aksonman: 11:17pm On Jul 01, 2014
Is Sahara Reporters part of Boko Haram's intelligence unit?

They reported the Maiduguri bomb attack barely minutes after it occured.

Now they quickly reported another one in Kaduna. However, many Kaduna residents are saying there was no bomb blast.

Is it possible that Sahara Reporters had advanced knowledge of a plan to bomb that part of Kaduna? But unfortunately, maybe something went wrong with the detonation schedule, but Sahara Reporters jumped the gun and went ahead to report a bomb blast with ficticious casualties.

SR must be investigated.

This is why Nigeria will not move forward cos most of you here are on the outside..anyway that cargo train has been happening since and mostly what they carry even up till now is gravel, transformers but none of them carry petroleum products although they started this from inception but the military came in and aborted it. So if they don't carry petroleum products our roads will still be busy..they don't even carry livestocks like cattles etc so how can you now say that there is a transformation

@Bolded...U are very wrong about that.
The movement of petroleum products by rail resumed last year, even NRC had to buy more rail tank wagons to consolidate...see link http://www.thisdaylive.com/articles/nrc-acquires-20-more-tank-wagons-to-haul-petroleum-products/164955/

I'm glad that you take pride in your poverty stricken '(Agege) up bringing...good for you.
My joy today was seeing cargo trains with several containers moving up North. Not the usual passenger trains you and your 'Agege' siblings are used to hanging on its doors and roof tops.

The rehabilitation was contracted and paid for right from
Abacha 's regime(I remember vividly when the Chinese got to the centre of Ibadan).
And the work continued all the way to the beginning of obasanjo.
Obasanjo expanded the /paid for the entire overhaul of the existing rail system and had a road map for the east west rail system which ought to have been built by now if there was really a tranformation .
Jonathan is simply commissioning the work of others in much the same way as that guy is doing in akwa ibom.

This was a special experience for me because the last time i saw trains carrying containers I was in primary school,I'm now in my 30s.
I understand these cargo trains were from Apapa port and were heading to Kano. Can u imagine how many trailers have been taken off our highways and how many lives might have been saved by this single journey?

U are a confirmed dumbass...An extremely hungry man is offered a loaf of bread for starters and he's cursing for not having Pizza.

Go and check out cargo moving locomotives in most parts of Europe,it's still this same type of engines that are in use for moving heavy goods. Some of them still use steam/coal engines.

If your arguments were based on unavailability of high speed passenger trains, one can then listen.

Politics / 6 Signs That Gej's Transformation Agenda Is Working. by Aksonman: 10:21am On Jan 01, 2014
http://pdpblogger..com/2014/01/six-signs-that-president-jonathans.html
SIX SIGNS THAT PRESIDENT JONATHAN'S TRANSFORMATION AGENDA IS WORKING.

1. Benin-Ore Road lamentations are over: For as long as most of us can remember, Christmas season was a time of lamentations for most travellers to the Eastern part of Nigeria. The Benin-Ore road was the main reason for those lamentations as travellers spent hours upon hours stranded on that axis; there were even instances where passengers had no choice but to spend Christmas on Benin-Ore traffic.
The Jonathan administration was the first to comprehensively tackle the reconstruction of Benin-Ore road. Today, most travellers can confirm to us that their 2013 road travel to Eastern Nigeria is most likely the best they've had in years.

2. For many years, it was an annual ritual for Nigerians to begin experiencing strange and annoying fuel scarcities during festive period. Also, before the Jonathan administration, many parts of Eastern, South-south and Northern Nigeria lived with perennial fuel shortages and where fuel was available it was sold well above government approved price. With Jonathan, all that changed; the Aba depot was resuscitated after years of neglect, leading to an abundance of fuel in the East. Under Jonathan, NNPC commenced the shipment of fuel to Northern Nigeria by rail even as the Kaduna refinery continued production. Throughout the 2013 festive season there was an abundance of fuel all over Nigeria.

3. Aviation: Most Nigerian airports are now wearing a new-look, that’s a fact. Due to the Biafra experience, most successive administrations were reluctant to resume international flight operations directly to Eastern Nigeria, though they kept making promises. Jonathan fulfilled that promise and today,Akanu Ibiam Airport is a functional international Airport.

4. Agriculture: In the past, the post of Agriculture minister was reserved for politicians from certain parts of the country whose sole purpose was to oversee the fraudulent distribution of fertilizer. President Goodluck Jonathan took a chance and appointed a technocrat to lead Nigeria's Agricultural revolution. Today, Nigeria’s agriculture is growing in leaps and bounds; even the international community took notice and went on to name Jonathan's Agriculture minister Akinwumi Adesina as Forbes African person of the year.

5. Boko Haram: When the sect turned really violent in 2009, Nigeria did not have a formidable Anti-terrorism network. Boko Haram carried out attacks at will; between 2011 and 2012, as President Jonathan was struggling to build a functional anti-terrorism system, the terrorists became bolder as bombings and attacks on places of worship occured on a near weekly basis. However, by 2013, Nigeria got it right with the creation of a formidable domestic anti-terrorism network. What it took nations like Israel or the USA decades to build, Jonathan achieved that in roughly 2 years. Throughout 2013, no single church was bombed. Boko Haram has been disorganised and reduced to rag tag guerrilla fighters that take pride in attacking vulnerable and innocent Nigerians of any religious faith. Occasionally, they team up with Alqaeda fighters and organise bold attacks on Nigerian military facilities. However, the Nigerian military has constantly repelled such attacks and inflicted huge casualties on the insurgents.

6. Successful Privatization of Electricity: In spite of monumental opposition from those that benefited from the rot in the system.

WHERE PDP HAS FAILED.

If the PDP has failed in any area it's in the way our great party has allowed opposition forces to gain and retain firm control on the formal and informal media space including electronic, print and social media. The opposition now has substantial leverage in stirring up negative emotions among Nigerians via respective media platforms. Our party’s spokes people have been largely reactionary, only coming out to clear things up when the harm has already been done. Also, perhaps we have entrusted our own information dissemination platforms on a few Egg heads that are probably overwhelmed with the multiple media attack mechanisms employed by the opposition.

Omo_Tier1:
I am sure ten years ago, you were still roaming the streets in your village, hence the reason you did not know that Nigeria musicians right from the 60s were mega rich taking into account the Naira value!

The earning power of most Nigerians have not changed considerably in the last ten years, rather what have changed is the population of those earning decent wages have upscaled, that is why nigeria is now regarded as a middle income earning country.

Stop attributing the growth Nigeria has witness in her economy to one inept puppet in Aso rock. Even though I have so much to say against Obasanjo, however, to His credit, several bold reforms He initiated is still one of the reasons the country is standing today even in the face of the blatant looting of the highest proportion by the present corrupt and visionless government.

If anything, I would attribute the meagre growth in the economy to the local domestic liberalisation of the towns and pseudo urban towns by some hard working governors as the main contributing factors rather than any bold policy of growth by the government in centre. Facts abound to buttress my conclusion further.
Are you for real?

Politics / ALERT-Fraudsters Now Use GTB To Collect Mugu/Maga Funds. by Aksonman: 10:31pm On Dec 18, 2013
[size=14pt]Fellow Nairalanders,

Some Fraudsters in Lagos seem to have connived with staff of a branch Guarantee Trust Bank (GTB) to defraud unsuspecting members of the public.

On Saturday November 30th,a fraudster made a call to a visually impaired old man on Ebute-Metta claiming to be an in-law that was involved in a serious car accident on his way to the Airport. He claimed that he had fatally injured an Okada driver and that the Police insisted that he must part with N200,000 before letting him off the hook.

Since it was a Saturday, the fraudster appealed to the old couple to send as much recharge cards as possible, they did-about N35,000.00 worth of credit.

By Monday December 2,the fraudster got the old couple to deposit the sum of N150,000.00 into a GTB account.

The account information where the money was deposited are as follows:

Adebola Samson Akinola
Account Number:0136589410
GTB,Tinubu along Broad street,Opposite Methodist Church,Lagos Island.

When the bank was approached to investigate this issue, they said there was no evidence that the money was paid in under duress and as such they cant investigate it.

Dear Nairalanders, please spread the word and help this old couple regain their money or at least let that GTB account holder be investigated-if he isnt the fraudster himself

Obrafour: I guess the Operator is of the opinion that, "failed jamb students" seeking admission into limited spaces in Nigerian universities should keep writing Jamb exams even though their WAEC grades equally allows them to seek admission elsewhere. Imagine the number of sch00l drop0uts if nigerians should heed to his advice.

'I guess' one of the underlining benefits of this thread is that whenever Ghanaians (like you) try to insult Nigeria by boasting about the high number of Nigerians seeking admission into Ghanaian universities; some of us (Nigerians) can respond by saying, "Haba, most of them failed JAMB o." grin

Education / Most Nigerian Students In Ghanaian Universities Are Serial JAMB Failures by Aksonman: 7:59pm On Oct 30, 2013
Regularly we are inundated with fairy tale news about how wonderful Ghanaian universities are.

Of course ASUU strikes/government neglect have made university education in Nigeria a nightmare, but in the last decade Nigeria has come up with several private universities with fantastic structures populated by Nigerian students.

Ghana has some pretty universities too,but many Nigerian students often go for some strange Ghanaian universities that are just 3 storey buildings along a street corner.

GUESS WHAT?
The main reason why many some Nigerians rush to Ghanaian universities is because THEY CAN'T PASS JAMB.
In Ghana, once you pass WAEC and u can afford tuition, admission to any Ghanaian university is certain. Unlike in Nigeria where regardless of the university you want to enter, you must first attain a descent JAMB score, plus POST-UME results.

This is the true story of the mad rush to Ghanaian universities

Politics / Stella Oduah: When Sinners Cast The First Stone. by Aksonman: 2:42pm On Oct 28, 2013
Of course many more known and unknown Igbo groups will continue springing up in order to defend their sister Stella Oduah, can u blame them?

Ever since Akanu Ibiam Airport, Enugu attained International status, the minister of aviation has not known peace.

From the North,Kano state accuses her of intentionally marginalizing Aminu Kano International Airport-same Airport that has just recieved massive renovation under the same embattled minister.

In the Southwest, the fear of loosing constant 'Igbo flyers' away from MMA,Ikeja in favour of Enugu is causing sleepless nites to some interested parties.

The dreaded 'Yoruba media' mobilized and from no where a 'whistle blower' emerged with juicy revelations of a N225million amoured car fraud by minister of aviation.
The 'South-western' media went on to arraign, try, prosecute and convict Stella Oduah on the pages of their respective newspapers and social media sites.

Here is a South-western press that has deliberately shielded 'Yoruba gods' Bola Tinubu and Governor Fashola from numerous 'whistle blowers' that have revealed massive corruption by the APC duo in areas ranging from Lekki toll gate,LCCI buy backs, Oriental Hotel ownerships, Parkview estates transactions etc.
Some cynics in this (APC) camp will be the first to say,"Well Fashola/APC is performing in Lagos,no need to bother them."

Is Stellar Oduah not a 'perfoming' minister too? Like Tinubu, has she been tried and found guilty by any law court or investigative panel? Why all the noise?
Why is Stella Oduah being crucified by largely Yoruba and Hausa/Fulani interests?

All of a sudden,National Assembly members who in the recent past have allocated more to themselves through, furniture allowance, sitting allowance & farting allowance are now in the forefront of the war against Sister Oduah.

The Northern media, Northern politicians, the 'Leaderships' and 'Daily Trusts' all sympathetic to Boko Haram's cause are also in the forefront of condemning Stella Oduah.

Is anyone still surprised as to why Stella's Igbo youths are crying 'fowl, chicken and tolotolo?

Nigeria is a land where sinners proudly cast the first, second and third stones.

I don't support corruption,If the aviation minister has done wrong, let a competent body like the one just set up by the President do its job. If she's found wanting, she'll face the music.

Until then, Let everyone else STFU.
