B - 4 slices of wheat bread, lil butter and beverage, skimmed milk no sugar

L - 1.30pm 1 medium roasted unripe plantain and a handful of groundnuts

snacked on small pcs of white bread and lil butter 6.50pm

D - 2 servings amala, ewedu, 1 pcs of chicken and ponmo

Water intake - dint count

Exercise - Hubby just bought. . . . "tummy trimmer". Tested it by doing 25 leg raises with the suff

Thanks Romeo, i think i agree with the issue of some fake batch finding their way into the country, and maybe she just became a victim of circumstance (at least its what i thot then, 2007), but now ave seen two of my colleagues with the black patches and when i became inquisitive, they both told me it was Amalar they used at different times. Anyways i immediately became an awareness officer on the danger of using Amalar. Thanks for the sympathy, she actually died in 2007, so sad a fresh graduate awaiting her service year.

Amalar could be the cause that initiated the chain of events, but it will help if we know exactly how she was in the intervening 2months.


As i said, she died 2007 but she suffered so much for two good years, at times she will be very lean and at times so fat you think she wants to burst, moving from one hospital to the other. All the while the black patches were there as a sign of a reaction to the drug which initiated the chain of the events that led to her death.  cry cry cry

Lastly,Nigeria is a country awash with fake and adulterated medications.So in the end, the death could have been caused by anything,you owe it to yourself to find out and be sure if it was due to the amalar so you can report to the apropriate authorities to prevent someone else dying from the same cause.

I cant agree less with you, its so sad. When she was going through her ordeal way back, all we could do was pray and warn as many who were close to us, i know we need help in this country. I don't blame akunyili for being wild then, she actually experienced this same trauma when fake drugs was administered to her sister (in the hospital) and she died in the process. May God guide our drug usages.

The Moral of the story here is DO NOT SELF-TREAT. Meaning that you should avoid going to pharmacy and buying drugs without first going to the clinic. You may be allergic to those drugs you buy.

My brother, its so easy to say and preach, but many of us forget about it and still go ahead and get our paracetamol and tetracycline whenever we are not feeling good. But do i blame us, when the act saving lives had become a real deal business and nobody cares about who dies or who lives anymore, even the health workers are not helping matters, many of them don't even know what they are doing, the ones that know are the most careless and they care less. Others that know ask for a consultation fee that only the rich can afford, the affordable ones (teaching hospitals) are filled with personnels who care more about their pockets and condition of service. Look bruv we can go on and on. But as i said earlier may God help our usages.

D - 2 servings amala, lots of ewedu and bean soup, a piece of chicken and cheese

Water Intake - 1.5 ltrs

L - 3pm - 1 meatpie and a can of Malta Guiness (for this month)

snacked on a handful of chin chin around 7pm

D - 8.30pm - 2 servings beans stew, boiled plantain and garri

Water intake - 2 ltrs

Exercise - Very brisk walk (more or less like jogging) for 30 mins, stretched for 2 mins

Am i welcomed in this thread. I need to start something with my weight and diet. I dont know my weight now but i was over 80kg, d last time i checked wit a height of 1.62m. Presently i am on a diet plan dat ll last the next 9 days. I need your advice, my meals commence after nine days, so i want to what food table and exercise i can start with. My target is 64kg in the next 3 months. Advice pls.

B - 10.30am - 2 servings amala, lots of ewedu and 1 ponmo (they only sell beef at the mama put)

L - 4.30pm - 1 scotch egg

6.00pm - 2 small pcs of boiled plantain

D - 8.10pm - 3 servings rice, stew and 5 fried plantain

Water Intake - 3 ltrs

Exercise - Nil (so much lightheadedness)

@ Omo, the very first encouragement you ave is ur sweet hubby who bought the treadmill, lol. Its a very good start and i believe you ll get there, just try to do this for yourself, its the only way you can go on, cos atimes the chips are down, And as romeo ll always say, DONT SKIP MEALS. Exercise - Squats (3x20), Leg raise (3x12), lunges (2x10), abs crunches (12), triceps dip - using the edge of a chair - (3 x 10), bicep curls (25). Stretched for 2 mins.

Hi, i read from the very first page. I cried, laughed and giggled. It's been a roller coaster of emotions. I have been married for 4yrs and 6months now and never been pregnant. At least never tested positive. First month after our marriage i was running late and because i didn't want a baby asked a doctor friend for drugs to use. he suggested i go do a PT which i refused saying i don't want to know so i don't feel like i was committing murder. I regret that decision till date. I used Postinor 2 for about a year to avoid pregnancy and voila when we decided we are ready nothing seems to be happening.

We've gone from clomid, to IUI, infact am tired of being a doctors lab rat. after several options we were left with the last option 2 months ago we tried ivf. 3 eggs were fertilized and transferred but NO SHOW. we've prayed, fasted and at a point i went into an "i don't care" mode. I just couldn't understand. How is it possible for some to get pregnant without hassles and some have to wait like forever.


reading this post has made me realise that God sure does forgive and I've prayed severally for that. TTC is an emotion trying time and only someone who is going through same can understand.


God, you know all our innermost desires, even beyond words can express, grant our heart desires that our joy may be full, our homes filled with God fearing and obedient children. Sarah laughed, we surely will laugh.

@ romeo, what is it about heavy dumbbells and being muscular? Should i get something lighter as i use 4kg now. I hope its not responsible for the shoulder pains ave been complaining about, cos i felt it a lil again this morning after bicep curls, i really had to stretch, hoping it would help though. The pains kept me off 1 day work and church last week, i dont need a repeat. Where art thou sef?

Well done! It takes a while for the body's thermostat to reset itself to a higher metabolic rate - Thats is why an exercise regime MUST be consistent and focused. Now is the time to double your efforts and even work harder. Once the weight loss fire starts, its easy to keep it burning.

@ romeo, this is really interesting o, one month of exercise scale did not shift, today after almost 10 days of no or lil exercise, it dropped 2.5 kg. I had to tell hussy to help me check properly. Anyways its a great motivation for me, its for me alone and i must go on. Thanks romeo for everything. I need more.

@ eja, what else can i say than crack up one more time.

@ romeo, I have not been exercising cos i dont if what am experiencing is injury or i slept wrongly again, its just below my right shoulder now and the pain is dull and comes when i make some turns/movements, it moved to the side of my right b.o.o.b since yesterday. I need to see my doctor now to clarify some things. Apart from this complaint am fine and ll definitely resume my logs the moment am given a clear bill of health, lol.               

@ modath, welcome back from your trip, interestingly i just bumped into a gym store last week and i realized except what i cannot afford then i cant buy(meaning the store was stocked to teeth), including different weight of dumbbells,

how i wish i can catapult them to you in abj.
