Good evening to all my Ogas here....i have been a fish farmer for sometimes (though still leaning) , in the spirit of expansion, i want to add poultry to the chain, the land measuring 100/100 somewhere in nasarawa state, i am having issues with where to position the layers pen, fencing is completed with borehole an other materials ready, i want to use battery cage. one of my oga advice i should build the poultry pen against the sun, another said its best facing the sun for proper sunlight inside the pen, i will really appreciate all experienced poultry farmers in the house to pls help me out,i am considering 2 coshes of block round with wire mesh to complete itto the roofing level. anyone with good picture of poultry should kindly post

the direction of your pen should be east west direction, every other thing you said is OK.

day old layers are called pullets. Some hatchery like chi,zartech, rto, agrited, etc are good especially the isa brown variety.
Get the medication and vaccination schedule of the hatchery you want and adapt it to your environment to get started.
Start with few birds and expand as you grow.

selling garri in Lagos is by using paint container small one. you van research places where u can buy the garri cheaply and sell in Lagos. places like Oyo ,Ogun osun etc.

They took me to their office at Area festac headquarters and forced me to write statement which I declined and demanded to see my lawyer. At this point, they became annoyed and started saying things like, see this ITK boy oo. After all, I was forced to write statement which I wrote carefully and after the useless statement. They started talking of settlement. That i should settle them and go. I remembered how corrupt this country is and was helpless. I opened my wallet for them and showed them the only 1k in my pocket, they asked me to go to the bank and get money to settle them. {imagine}. Besides, I saw how they manipulate innocent citizens in that their hellish office. They would stop you at the road; whether you are on bike or bus or even private and start searching everything on you. If you are not corrupt enough to settle them on the search point, they take you to their miserable office. And continue the manipulate. Afterwards, they collected my only 1k I had on me and returned my phone... Nigerian Police are criminals. Black devils. This is what they do to Innocent citizens everyday... From today, I won't be going out with my smart phone. I will only go out with my Nokia touch... Pls share to your friends, maybe it would save someone from their demonic nets. They are animals in the zoo looking for prey... Corruption and Nigerian police are inseparable.

Is your suggestion here that going down to a spacing of 1.5m by 1.5m would be too close together?
My thought process was that it is simpler to convert a 3m by 3m spacing to a 1.5m by 1.5m spacing in order to achieve a "start small, then expand approach" . It seems it would be more difficult to convert two options you mentioned.

Since you're starting with a small portion now, use 3 by 3 spacing on some portion and 1.5m by 1.5m on some to compare.
alternatively, you can use 3m by 3m now to reduce to 3m by 2m.

Advantage : high density. if you mange it very well with good agronomy practices.

Disadvantage :
Low yield.
easy Transmission of diseases and pest.
