I don't want to go in more details, but I want to say that in Islam (not the cultures that have many Muslims), marriages must be consensual. Even when young girls are married, the marriage cannot be consummated until the girl is physically ready. All other ways are against the ways of Islam.

In fact, in the laws concerning marriage, the husband is the one who has a DUTY to satisfy the wife whenever SHE wishes, but the wife has no corresponding duty to satisfy her husband's needs. I'd think that most Africans would say that Islam gives too many rights to women.
